There is a Parking lot in front and a few tables with a TV if you choose to eat there. We do takeout and the place is extremely casual & low-key but always very fresh & enjoyable. There were 2 Shrimp Egg Rolls, (no regular one). They both had thick greasy wrappers. The soup was also very greasy as was the Lo Mein. This was our "go to" Chinese restaurant in the area. Now what? I'm a Chinese food snob and find it difficult to get good Chinese takeout. This place is the real deal! First they make tomato egg drop soup, my favorite, but it's very hard to get. Their's is amazing. Pieces of tomato in it. Get it with added wontons. Their ribs are also top notch. One way of measuring the quality of a Chinese restaurant is the chicken. Their chicken dishes have nice white meat sliced chicken, not the mystery meat you get sometimes. I drive over 30 minutes to get there! read more

I love this place. It's right down the block, but sometimes I'll still order delivery. Ok I don't like the cold. They have great steamed pork buns, great hot and sour soup I just wish they put a little pork in it, but it's really good regardless. The lunch specials and dinners are a good sized portion and they don't skimp on the meat. We especially enjoy the curry chicken, shredded pork in garlic sauce, chicken in garlic sauce and shrimp in lobster sauce is great. Great fried Rick, quick delivery and a really nice family too. This use to be my Goto place for lunch. Yesterday I was disappointed. I usually order shredded pork in garlic sauce but decided to order shrimp with lobster sauce. I expected ground pork, scallions and egg in the sauce. Instead it only consisted of frozen peas and carrots in what is best described a glutenous mucus. The 4 large shrimp were amazing, and it was an insult to them to bathe in mucus. Terrible experience. read more

I found King's Chef while doing a search for Egg Foo Young. Most Chinese restaurants near me don't offer it and it's one of my favorite dishes when cooked well. The Egg Foo Young at King Chef is consistently good, never greasy, and the sauce is sublime. The service is fast and friendly. The egg roll that came with lunch was perfect: crispy and delicious. Again, not greasy. The only negative is that they're always playing movies that are loud and violent so that it's not pleasing to dine in. read more

This is actually my favorite Chinese place in Long Branch. I've tried Ming Ying a couple Of times cause it's the most popular and I've always been grossed out while eating their food. It just never tasted right. So I took a gamble and tried King Chef and it was delicious!! I usually get their shrimp with broccoli and garlic sauce. So good!!!! I also like their dumplings (a good price for a big order) . Fried rice is good, spare ribs are good, and also the staff is extremely friendly! First time trying this place and it was delicious. We ordered fried chicken wings and a large order of house special mai fun. The food was nice and hot and tasted fresh. We were even able to sit in and enjoy our meal. I have been ordering from here for years .. never had a problem with them at all besides sometimes food wasn't well done or little stuff which most of the time the food is Really good, love the chicken wonton soup but last week I ordered & THEY forgot my fried noodles with the soup I ordered which was unexpected & were mad because they had to bring it back.. after that they no longer want to take orders from me or anything as far as that. I am pregnant & truly upset that one of the only Chinese places I order from won't let me order due to THEM forgetting something... & I will definitely be calling around to find the owner or to speak to someone about it. It's ridiculous that one time THEY forget something they won't let you order from them anymore. The lady who answers the phone has become highly rude & disrespectful as well hanging up.
