Happy Hour menu

Great spot to grab a drink in Bradley Beach. We popped in for happy hour and the had a great deal - a drink and a snack for $10! Highly recommend the Tater Tachos. Delicious! Staff were super friendly! Bar space is somewhat cramped, but that's to be expected at a place called The Elbow Room :D

BRADLEY BEACH: a local favorite in downtown Bradley Beach, The Elbow Room's location has been in the family since 1996 and has evolved into the Elbow Room as a bar and restaurant offering dog friendly outdoor seating! An American-style menu with a lot of variety, you can pair your meal with a beer from a local brewery, a reasonably priced glass of house wine, and a full bar of options. Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed at the outdoor seating in front of the building and it is a perfect spot to people-watch and get some sunshine.

A very good reliable neighborhood feel tavern. First time here. We came for Sunday night live music with Bobby Bandeira. A holiday party night. He was playing great tunes, people were dancing. We opted to sit at the bar area. Bartender was friendly and ready to serve. Really nice house wine offerings. We each eventually ordered soup when we were ready as well as some grub. Perfect tavern menu. We dug it.

I stopped in on a Tuesday night after taking the train back from the city. There was music bingo! So fun! Every other Tuesday night. Great $7 Sauvignon Blanc all day every day :) tried the chicken wings and they were great too! Such good people at the bar, I will be coming here again.

There are a lot people involved in this story: my mother-in-law (MIL), father-in-law (FIL), my husband, A, my brother (BIL), his boyfriend (BILBF), my sister-in-law (SIL), and her boyfriend (SILBF), who comes in later. This was a trip my MIL and BIL planned because they are both beach people. A and I are not beach people. Truthfully, I didn't really want to go but I had to because it was a family obligation. We all got to Bradley Beach on Thursday. BIL had booked an Air BnB. I've never stayed at an Air BNB before. It was an interesting experience. The house was nice, although it only had 1 shower and there were 8 of us total in that house. First, we were all there, except for SILBF (he came the following day). We chose this place for dinner because it was close by and since it was raining, we didn't want to go too far. And it was a good first choice. I got the pasta, A and his dad got a burger, I think BIL got a salad and BILBF got the chicken. SIL got a salad with salmon, and I don't remember what MIL got (maybe a burger too). The food was really good and the service was efficient. The waiter was friendly and easy-going. Food was amazing. Since we were by the water, I figured seafood would be fresh and it was. You wouldn't think a little town like this would have good food but it does. So if you're in Bradley Beach, check this place out. Their cocktails are good too. And it's so much cheaper than New York. Wayyyy cheaper. At the end of the meal, my SIL put down her card and I said, "I'll venmo you." But she and BIL decided that they were going to add everything up at the end of the trip and split it from there. Sorry guys, but dumbest idea ever. Because we all paid for at least one meal and now it's confusing to figure out who owes who how much and my BIL is still working through the math. If we had just paid it back at the end of each meal, we wouldn't be in this situation. Word to the wise: when you go on family trips, pay the person back right then and there.

They wouldn't let my friend use the restroom unless somebody in our group ordered something, but I guess the happy hour deal was so good that ultimately, I can't hate them for it. Basically, for $10, you get a full appetizer and a pretty extensive choice list of drinks. Being from the city, my mind was blown. As you can see from the pictures, the appetizers weren't small either - it truly is quite the deal. Granted, it's not fine dining. But for a beach town bar in New Jersey, it was definitely better than expected.

Great spot to grab a drink and a bite. Stopped in after checking out their Yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. I had the Shrimp and Avocado salad special. The popcorn (served while you wait) was fresh and tasty! Next up was the chicken Caesar salad, yum and then the burger. I forgot which one, see the picture. Noise level was good even when the bar started to get crowded. I will be back.

Had an awesome experience at the elbow room for dinner! The atmosphere was great and I really enjoyed the live music! Table set up was decent. During the dinner crowd, staffing seemed short, but it was clear they were stressed and doing their best. The food here was very good. We ordered the mac n cheese balls and garlic mozzarella bites for appetizers and tried the watermelon mojito. Apps were delicious and hot. Seemed the drinks were decent but differed in taste despite being the same drink. I was very confused how the ordering worked as we placed an order for apps and main courses at the start but was later informed that they would get the mains going? However, they came out quickly after that and were super fresh and hot. The short rib sandwich was delicious and the quantity was definitely worth it for what you pay. The elbows and cheese were also really tasty. The place can get busy around dinner and space is limited so I recommend getting a reservation in advance. Overall excellent dinner spot and bar that I will surely be returning to!

During a trip to the beach, my friends and I had an awesome dinner at this place! Located right on Main Street and next to beach plum, it is in a great location! The place itself was smaller, but held a good amount of people. Live music was great and the food came out hot! I had a really delicious sandwich with fries and a decent cocktail. The apps were delicious and the prices were fair. This is a restaurant that you want to try. Highly recommended!

What a great find in Bradley Beach right on 71! A tables right outside of the restaurant front, which is nice. Restaurant seems small but it's split between a giant bar and a nice seating area. They had a daily drink special for a $5 vodka drink, but their menu priced drinks are great for the area. $7 house wine! Out server was nice and informative on the menu. They have amazing fries we will be back to try more of the menu! Everything was fresh and seemed made to order!

They completely remodeled the Elbow Room about two years ago. It was formerly called the Draughting Table. Upon walking in I didn't recognize the place at all. It's nicely fixed up though the bar area on the Southern side gives rise to its name, hence, in order to pass, you only have elbow room to proceed. Possibly the architect miffed that one. Staff is very friendly and sitting at the bar, I ordered calamari with chili sauce on shredded cabbage; a really different tasty dish. My brother's family ate their meals at the bar with me and had assorted Mexican fare. Now on the other side of the bar are the tables. And mind you, there's more than elbow room on that side. I still didn't ask why we didn't sit on that side. There's a cute sign on the exit door stating...Free Beer Tomorrow. But is 2moro ever in the present tense???

Food is not great, atmosphere is not great. Smelled like rags that they use to clean the bar.

I'm in a mood so I'm gonna go on one today…read more The Grand Tavern is hands down the best restaurant in the area. My husband and I have been going here for years. We don't come as often as we used to because yes it is pricey but I would much rather come here and have a special night with incredible service, food, and drinks than still spend over $100 at another restaurant and get average food. The Grand Tavern is unpretentious, welcoming, entrees offer sizable portions. I have NEVER left hungry. Main complaints I see are price - again, yes it's expensive but it's worth it. Also you can see the menu before you go, how do you not know what you're walking into?? Complaints about the burger. First of all the menu changes seasonally. There's no way their patty is frozen. Everything is FRESH AF. And yeah, American cheese is king on a burger. Again, it's on the menu what did you expect? This is a restaurant that has literally never disappointed. I will always save my pennies for a great night out here. Everyone's entitled to their opinion obviously but entitlement is a hell of a drug. Check out the menu and have a great night.

Terrific food, my cavatelli was great, and the swordfish fresh and tasty. Fun cocktail service…read more (though it's Lent, so I was happy they offer a great NA IPA. The other 5 in my group enjoyed their drinks. Our server took our orders verbally, and all apps and mains came out without a hitch. No menus handed (they ask you to look at their website to choose!) and the menu is small, with specials limited to cocktails. It is dark and quite noisy (they did dial back the loudness after we asked) so keep that in mind.)

It truly felt like you were being transported to the 1920's when the staff brought us downstairs. The menu features many different speciality cocktails and includes a couple mocktail options. We have visited there a few times and they have different themes during the year, the ambiance is…read morereally cool. Right now they have a tiki theme, however, that's it in my opinion as far as draw to keep going there. The drinks are an overpriced smoke screen for people who want to waste money on a sugary drink. And it goes along with the whole Asbury Park eclectic vibe but most of the drinks have a 5 or more ingredients I never heard of (which is fine) but it waters down the drink. I don't want to have a drink (or pay $15+ for a drink) that tastes like a fruity cup of juice. As far as the limited food suggestions on the menu- only 2 or 3- this is the third time we've been there and they said they were out of food -so then take it off your menu if you can't be consistent!!! We're not just going to keep drinking without anything to eat to go along with it. As far as the service it's inconsistent, when we sat down there was only two of us- The server was very nice but we waited too long for our drinks. A party of 7 came in about 1/2 hour after us and they had their drinks within 5 minutes- that should never be. After one drink we got the check and we left, we are completely scratching it off our list, we will not return there. It does bum me out because it has such potential and there's nothing like it around but I'm not going to visit an establishment where I walk away feeling it was a waste of money.

Our server was friendly…read more(despite what other reviews say about bad service), and we were lucky enough to snag a table on the porch with an awesome ocean view. Recommend checking for specials before you go - in June they had half-price entrées on Tuesdays. We'll definitely be back later this summer for the live music!

Hello Darlings! As…read moreSummer 2026 cruises by faster than a bat out of hell, we came to the realization that we haven't done an outdoor beachfront meal this season and hubby suggested The Columns, since they have a fabulous porch overlooking Ocean Avenue. We decide to walk over kind of early-ish, arriving before 5pm (on a Saturday), and was surprised to see that it was busy, busy, busy, chock full of many, many jovial patrons, enjoying the libations and a band playing "classic rock" covers. They were good, no doubt keeping the increasingly jovial patrons at the bar suitably entertained. As for Hubby and me, we parked it at a table inside, people-watching as we endured our 30-minute wait. That kept Your Host suitably entertained. So, let's get into some of the deets, shall we? ATMOSPHERE: it's a bar with live entertainment (typically bands), so it's not quiet. It's popular with beachgoers who will typically hang out for drinks and/or bites after enjoying the beach. There's a fun, energetic vibe here and families will have their littles in tow. I imagine there is a cut-off time for the under-21 set but one might say that The Columns accommodates families. Saturday late-afternoon/early evenings are busy and take heed darlings that you will be waiting at least 30 minutes for a table. FARE: typical American bar food. Seafood is a thing here and they have a raw bar. The lunch offerings (mostly sandwiches) end promptly at 4pm and switches to their dinner menu, which are mostly plates. Food is okay...both Hubby and I had crab cakes, which were pretty tasty. SERVICE: attentive but not annoyingly so. Our server was a lovely woman, and food came out on the quick. Now, darlings, I now have to throw a little caution to the wind... There are no free refills on soft drinks and at $4 a pop, that can certainly add up. This is Your Host's biggest peeve with The Columns but gets around that with an adult bev. The other vexation is that they charge an extra 3% on credit card but debit cards are exempt from the surcharge...so that's nice (I guess). OVERALL; it's a fun place with some decent chow and a recommended stop after a day at the beach. What would Jonathan think? One of life's many questions... TTFN, Your Host

LATE NIGHT STOP!! Work compete, hungry, need to relax…read morebefore heading back to MD. Found this spot open with a late night bar and grill. Now what I will say is make sure you have your cash ready this is a cash only establishment which is not bad at all what you saw as a price is what you paid. Plus the specials that they had were cash only as well and they were worth the bucks. Nothing was too expensive great pricing I don't think I saw anything over $20. Plenty of drink options in the best little glasses that are complimentary of Ball, if you are familiar. As we arrive we met this really nice security guy super cool even came to check in on us at some point through the night an amazing bartender super cool great conversation great tattoos. Sorry I was tired so I didn't get a name but when you see him you will know it. So we did a little late night dipping and dabbing just got something light sweet chili wings perfectly cooked perfect flavor and adjust the right amount of sauce with the freshest celery and carrots! My partner was looking for something heavy so he indulged in the burger and the sweet tater w Pico queso. Delicious .. We remember seeing this place over the summer and all we remembered was a lot of people standing outside so we didn't realize what the bar was but this weekend we stopped in and were pleasantly surprised we will definitely be back and looking forward to it!
