It's been a while, but always nice to come back to a local tavern in the area. It seems a lot of their TVs are pointed to soccer matches, just an opinion. Food was excellent, and the service was even better. What I don't like is minimal : there's a partition between the sit-down tables and the bar seats. Must be the way the building was built. 4.5 stars. Enjoyed dinner here last Sunday evening with friends and their kiddos. It was early enough to be family friendly (despite being a bar), and they have a limited kids menu (no pastas though). Several local beer options. I had Juan's Chicken Sandwich which was blackened chicken on garlic bread with cheddar Jack cheese and hot & sweet cherry pepper relish -- delicious and a solid portion. First time here, although it's been on the list for awhile, and it's obvious why it's a neighborhood favorite. Traditional bar food and burgers in a lively atmosphere while able to keep your eye on the game broadcast on one of their screens. Beer menu included several locals that were very reasonably priced. My husband and I were in the area and decided to stop in to watch a Cleveland Guardians playoff game. The bartender was so welcoming and friendly..and efficient! We had a delicious meal. My husband had the chili and I had a wonderful salad. It was so fresh and had an entire perfectly grilled chicken breast! My key lime pie was absolutely amazing!! The atmosphere was friendly. Great place, we opted to sit downstairs for dinner. We were seated immediately and were greeted by multiple servers who were very courteous. We ordered a few drinks and a wedge salad. Drinks were great and the wedge salad was delicious, lot of bleu cheese crumbles. Wife had the prime rib dinner and I opted for Chipotle Blue Cheeseburger. We came here while vacationing in Bradley Beach and felt like this was a very good choice. Staff was very friendly. We sat in the outdoor section and it was very comfortable. My turkey sandwich was loaded with thick slices of turkey, and the salad was very fresh. The cranberry wheat bread was delicious and soft but a harder bread might have been better for such a thick sandwich. Otherwise , a great experience. read more

I only had the beer so I cannot comment on the food, though...the reviews on that are fruitful and quite good. If you grew up in the Woodbridge-Metuchen-Edison area, you definitely hit up Hailey's on more than one occasion. D'Arcy's has the same vibe, just closer to the Jersey shore. I'd give this place 4 stars. I'd lean toward 5 if they provided water cups not bottles. Not a fan of restaurants who only have bottles as water. My boyfriend and I started with a large pretzel. I liked it. He wished it had salt on it. The cheese dip and honey mustard were both good. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and really enjoyed it. It was delicious and filling. I liked that the lettuce, pico and guac were on the side. You could place in as much as you like. Nice bar and I'm sure it's awesome during games. Came in to watch a baseball game with a group and of friends. Sat outside with a few children and were immediately treated in a rude manner by the waitstaff. Literally the first thing the waitress said to me when we sat down was "Are you going to order something?" Like, obviously I am going to order something...it's a restaurant...and she hadn't even given me a menu yet. From that point on, every interaction was short and rude. They were rude to my children, who weren't even doing anything out of line. They were rude to an adult who had to go up to the bar since the waitress stopped coming to the table to assist us. I understand being stressed and short tempered if you're busy and the kids are acting crazy, but the place was almost empty. I cannot explain why the waitress acted like this but it ruined the experience and made us feel like we had done something wrong when we hadn't. read more

My family has been going to Darcy's since it was Barry's Tavern! The staples like Juan's chicken sandwich and the veggie panini are consistently tasty. But we usually try to branch out and try the nightly specials. The specials are always creative and a notch above the regular menu items. The last few years we've been headed over for breakfast/brunch and the PASTRAMI HASH is awesome. It's always tasty with great rye bread and it goes great with a cold miller lite or a coffee! They have a great beer selection and if it seems too loud downstairs the upstairs bar and seating is usually quieter! read more

Came here after a day in Asbury Park. This place has been on our radar for a while now. Loved all the soccer scarves on the ceiling. This is a true soccer bar which I'm so excited about. Looking forward to returning to watch The World Cup and soccer during the Olympics. We sat at the bar and the bar tenders were friendly. I ordered a burger and M ordered a chicken sandwich. Both were great. I asked my burger to be medium and it came out more well done, but other than that everything was great. Beers were around $6 each. Wish they were a little cheaper. Cool place though. We look forward to returning to watch some soccer, football, or baseball and checking out happy hour. read more

My friend and I had actually stumbled upon this place the first time while we were waiting for food at another spot. I liked how they have a pretty big outdoor seating. The drinks are kinda bland but the food here was pretty good for just some regular ole bar food. We ended up staying for the Sunday NFL games and it was dope here. It's been a long time since I had service this bad. The waitress came and asked us for our order four different times and still got it wrong. I think she was new and harmless which is OK. The real kicker was the hostess/maître d' Who could not have been more rude. I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi which came out panseared. They took it back and re-cooked the same fish twice with seasoning turning into a dried out slab. To insult me more she put it in a to go box and offered me to take it which I respectfully decline. Only that the other fish sandwich one of our table ordered was good that I give it two stars. I think if the manager/hostess had not been so nasty and condescending it could've been a decent night out. Shame that such poor help could ruin a restaurant that had potential. read more

This place was very delicious and had overall solid food, but one thing I didn't like was when my table asked for three waters to start, the staff brought us back plastic bottles that each cost $2. This was absolutely ridiculous and including tax I spent more than I would have wanted. I don't believe I should of had to ask for a plain water cup (if you even had one, that is). So, watch out for having to potentially pay for water if you go there. I would of brought my own water if I knew I'd get charged for a bottle. I will not be coming back here unless the policy for getting water first changes (Yes that sounds silly but I didn't want to say it). read more

Local favorite. We love their daily specials. Their soups are killer. We've been going there for years and recently booked their newly renovated second floor for a work event. I worked with Courtney to organize the event and Tara was our bartender that evening. They were both so amazing to work with. Our guests were all well taken care of and the food was delicious. Had such high expectations for this place. Has always been on my bucket list to watch a game at. Asked the day before if the red bull game would be on and got quick online response that it definitely would be. Got there and was surprised to see only baseball and golf on all of the tvs. I asked if they could put the game on one TV and was told no. So didn't stay. Overall, the beer selection looked mediocre with two kane mainstays, one icarus and then mix of macros. Decor was great looking for a soccer bar, but unfortunately they only pretend to be a soccer bar on the day that I tried to go there. My daughter and I our staying in Belmar. We took a walk to Bradley Beach stumbled upon D'Arcy's Tavern for dinner. Ashley are waitress was friendly ,took time to talk with us. She explained and answered all our questions . Thai Chicken wrap was fantastic . I had the Pesto Wahoo. I have never tasted such good mash potatoes and French fries. I don't even like potatoes these were excellent . The atmosphere is classic NJ Shore tavern . It bring you a great feeling to be back down at the shore. It's a soccer bar the logo on their T-shirts at the wait staff wearing has a soccer ball on it you think they would have one soccer game on everybody was watching golf and when we asked politely to put on the Red Bulls game we were told No! We were invited to a birthday party at D'Arcy's Tavern in Bradley Beach last night. Never been there. Never heard of it before. It's on Main Street and doesn't look like much from the outside but once inside it grabs you. There is a nice oval bar with tables on the outside walls where wall decorations abound. I noticed it isn't all that big, not a bad thing, I guess judging from the outside I thought it would be bigger. It was Wednesday 5:30 and they had nearly every seat filled at the bar; a good sign. We weren't destined to sit at the bar this trip because our party was on the second floor. As I ascended the steps I couldn't but notice how clean and brightly painted the stairwell was; another omen. Once upstairs I was pleasantly surprised by a nicely done bar/dining area. Bright and open and facing windows and doors leading to al fresco dining on the porch. There's radiant heaters outside for those cool shore evenings. We were the first to get there by a good margin so had plenty of time to talk to and get to know our wait staff. Courtney was organizing the party and she ran around making sure everything was perfect; and it was. Andy helped in the dining room and found out he knew my dad, many moons ago. Catherine our bartender couldn't do enough for us. She kept her composure all night and had a smile for all the guests. A great asset to D'Arcys; plus she likes beer. More on the beer later. Food was served buffet style. There was plenty of it and it was all good. We had sliders, wings, pasta dishes, and more, but my favorite was the prosciutto rolled fresh asparagus. Maybe thirty guests, all raved about the food and no one left hungry or sober unless they really wanted to. I had a minute to peruse their menu and found it both diverse (including pizza) and very reasonably priced. Not insignificant considering Bradley is in the wake of Asbury Park which is exploding with new and not inexpensive dining. Now being a beer lover, (ok I've been called a beer snob, more than once actually), I didn't expect much at D'Arcys because one, Bradley Beach isn't a booming metropolis, and two there was a giant Bud Lite promo plastered to the outside wall. HOWEVER, when you walk in there's a big chalk board listing the craft beer on tap. They were pouring suds from Lagunitas, Southern Tier, First Amendment, Carton, Kane among others.
