Looks like a Portland spot--Nirvana Food Truck
Efrain L.

The Best Kabobs in Seattle--And It's a Pizza Truck?! Okay, Seattle, listen up--I've officially found the best kabobs in the city... and they're being served out of a food truck in Ballard that most people think is just a killer pizza spot. Nirvana Food Truck is known for its pizza (and yes, it is legit--wood-fired in a $25k oven attached to the truck), but what most people don't realize is that this place is also the most authentic Iranian kitchen in the city. And the kabobs? Game-changing & apparently very authentic. I've gone every weekend this summer, and I'm not exaggerating--juicy, perfectly grilled halal meats, generous portions, charred veggies done right, and it's all clean, flavorful, and shockingly affordable. Forget dropping $$$ at Zeitoon or Persepolis. This place blows them out of the water. Plus, the family running it is incredibly kind. You can feel the love in the food. Grab your plate, stroll to any of the nearby breweries, and post up for a perfect Seattle evening. Come for the pizza, stay for the kabobs--and don't sleep on the menu's newer additions. Nirvana isn't just a name; it's the experience.

Blue Pizza

Have been wanting to try Nirvana since U saw their sandwich board on Market street for awhile my neighbor and I walk every week and have often walked by and have looked at the menu. We finally tried them today, actually thought we were going to go the Mediterranean or Persian route. But the Blue Pizza sounded so good we split that and a Caesar Salad. We're both big fans of prosciutto and arugula on pizza this one has blue cheese and I want yo say the arugula is lightly tossed in olive oil and lemon. The brightness cuts through the richness of the cheese and prosciutto. We both throughly enjoyed the crust. We have a pizza place closer to home about nine blocks away but we we definitely come down here over the place close to us. The Cesar Salad wasn't our first choice but it was a wonderful surprise the toasted crumbs they add gives a wonderful texture my friend doesn't like croutons but she loved the toasted crumbs. Love that they have covered heated seating. You can see the wood for the pizza oven. Service was friendly and very accommodating. We will definitely be back saving my last. Star for when we try the rest of the menu.

Beef & Lamb Gyro Plate

VERY tasty gyro & kebab plates, a great value as far as I'm concerned too, you get a real heavy plate of all tasty things. I even loved the jalapeño or whatever semi-spicy pepper they put on my gyro. So good! They were a bit busy so they even threw in a piece of baklava. YUM!

Plus they offer hummus (which was listed on a different area of the truck)

A hidden gem in Ballard that I can't wait for more people to discover. The red pizza not only looked beautiful, its flavor hit all the marks. Delicious delicious crust with a sweet and buttery sauce. The mozzarella was so tasty and perfectly melted, much higher quality than I usually see. The basil added just the right herby notes. All in all it was a perfect pizza. Plus, we got a caesar salad which came with more cheese than I've ever seen on a caesar. I also appreciate they had seating right by the truck and offered utensils as well. The guys in the truck were incredibly friendly and joyful too.

Spicy honey pepperoni pizza!

Found this lovely food truck in Ballard! So glad we did! Got the spicy honey pepperoni pizza with jalapeños and a beef and lamb giro! Both were highly tasty and prepared perfectly! The balance of sweet honey and spicy pepperoni and jalapeños atop the wood fired thin crust was phenomenal! The giro meat was deliciously tender and bursting with flavors! Bravo! Delicious. Outdoor seating is provided under a lovely wood canopy. Perfect for a quaint snack rendezvous. The staff were polite and helpful with helping us decide what to order.

Sausage Pizza

Semi-permanent food truck serving true Woodfire pizzas and pasta. First time visiting I got a sausage pizza and it was solid. The dough has a bit of a whole wheat taste, which I enjoyed, and the ingredients were fresh with purportedly the sausage been house-made. I'll definitely swing by again to try another item!

Beef & Lamb Gyro Plate

An amazingly cute Mediterranean food truck on the corner. The gyro plate was fantastic and they gave me some extra pita when I asked. The hummus was a bit garlicky and I loved it. The salad was fresh and crispy. My wife got the nirvana chicken sandwich and was munching away because it was so good. We'll definitely be coming back soon! Oh and the meat is halal as well.

Chicken Kebab

Decided to pop in and grab a a Persian kebab because I'm always on the hunt for good Persian food in Seattle. I was intrigued by the mix of things on the menu and figured what the hell. Nirvana did not disappoint, the chicken was succulent, the rice was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were all fresh and delicious. This is an incredibly delicious food truck, manned by super friendly folks. I will ABSOLUTELY be back to try the pizza. What a wonderful new spot!!

Chicken gyro plate

Chicken gyro plate was great. Large portion, grilled chicken to order, chicken was moist, hummus garlicky. I'd go back for this. $15.50 Sausage pizza was made to order in a wood fire pizza oven. I prefer a little more crunch to my bites but overall good especially for a $16 12in pie. Also, I strolled past this place as they were cleaning up and they were still very welcoming and willing to serve me. Great service.

Absolutely insane how good the pizza is!!! We got the mushrooms & sausage pizza and damn one of the best pizzas I ever had!

Fresh and so so good!

Had the pepperoni pizza with hot honey; best pizza I've had in a while, maybe the best period in the Seattle area.

Ambiance is awesome! Lots of people so make your reservations like us. We ordered a shared appetizer - pita bread and all 6 kinds of toppings hummus, tzatziki, and all they offer. Each one of us had an entree ranging from lamb burger, chicken, mushroom and lamb kebabs - all so good. It was so tender and tasty. Enough to fill us. Love it! So good! Kebabs were served on a hot plate. Nice presentation. Service was outstanding. Good attentive service .

This is a lively place, always filled with a lot of upscale looking customers. So the atmosphere is quite loud, but fun in a buzzing way. We were seated quickly, as we had reservations. Our server Charlie, was engaging, friendly and on top of things. We ordered the shared dips---olive tapenade, eggplant, hummus, tatziki with some warm pita triangles. They're all good and a fun way to start the dinner. We each had kebabs---lamb, chicken and mushroom. All good, moist and tender all poured with a jig of ouzo on a hot skillet. The onions in the bottom get browned and crusty, so good to eat. One had a lamb burger which looked juicy and served with delicious mound of fries sprinkled with rosemary. Food here has always been awesome. Skipped dessert as we had homemade cookies to eat at our next stop.

Yalla Seattle - Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap - $16

The batinjan (eggplant) and labneh wrap here has now taken its place in my pantheon of best…read moreeggplant bites I've ever had. Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

From looking at the menu, I haven't seen too many of the items listed offered here in Seattle. This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.
