Brooklyn with ramps (seasonal ingredient)
Katy H.

Y'all. Do not delay. Get to Delancey before I eat them out of their stock. THE PIZZA. The cheese on the Brooklyn is the best cheese I've ever had on a pizza. Add in the freshly sauteed ramps and I've developed an obsession. The white pizza was so a particular stand out thanks to the velvety ricotta. THE EXTRAS. The small salad was perfect for two people to split - fresh and tasty. The cookie for dessert was warmed and exactly what you'd want. Pro Tip: Ask for a side of creamy Italian dressing to dip the crust in. LOGISTICS. We were quoted an hour to an hour and a half wait when arriving which turned out to be 30 minutes and we got a text when ready. We also had no problem finding street parking in the neighborhood.

Friendly service, tasty food, and cozy ambiance! Delancey serves up excellent wood fired pies (plus some delicious specials) that taste like they were made with love. We loved the appetizers we tried; the meatballs were well seasoned and served with their delicious red sauce, while the pear and raddichio salad provided crispy and refreshing contrast. The pizzas also lived up to the hype. Lots of sauce with a good balance of cheese and toppings so you can still handle the slices without pesky structural collapse. Only minor complaint is that the crust gets pretty burnt on the edges so crust lovers may want to steer clear. Desserts were excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the homemade vanilla ice cream, which came chock full of what looked like real vanilla bean. Delancey does basics and they do them well - easy 5/5. Note that parking can be difficult on Fridays/weekends and lines form right at opening!

The food and service is exceptional! The wait is absolutely worth it. Delancey has been our on list for a while, especially after our great experience at Goldie's at The Roost last summer. We started with the meatballs which were so flavorful and the sauce is incredible. We saved the leftover sauce to dunk our pizza crust in later. The Jersey salad is exceptional. Pilled high with fresh lettuce, crunchy croutons and a delicious dressing. The burrata with pesto was a fan favorite. Then the main course of pizzas were fantastic. We had the white pie, we added fennel sausage, and the hot salami pizza. The crust is fantastic and every bite was delicious. We finished the night with their special chocolate ganache and hazelnut ice cream. It was a great treat and a wonderful evening. I can't wait to visit Delancey again!

Great pizza, salad, wine, service and ambiance! Their dough cools a bit quick and loses the chewiness and the pizzas themselves are pretty straight forward and less in the experimental side but it was an absolute delight dining here and i would come back anytime.

Simply great pizza, you can tell the ingredients are high quality and you can taste the wood fire. The meatballs were surprisingly good too. I don't really like meatballs since I tend to find them dry, but these were soft and juicy, and the sauce has a hint of sweetness--it was perfect. I loved how the mushroom pizza is topped full of mushrooms. The wait is rather long-- it took us about 90 mins to get seated and we arrived there around 5:30pm. Luckily there's a bar across the street so we hung out there. It's worth the wait for a special event like an anniversary, so I typically wouldn't have waited that long. Reservations are only for large parties.

They call it a "margarita pizza", but in my opinion, it was tomato soup on an burnt pizza dough

My parents took me here as their guest last night and they will swear by this restaurant so I'm sure they'll be back. I might even be back with them if they're gonna take me for free. In my humble opinion, the food here is extremely overrated like the pizza was like a tomato soup on an burnt pizza dough. The service is extremely awkward. I honestly felt so uncomfortable. It's like they didn't want me to be there. Also, the location is in such an inconvenient location and it's so hard to park. I really do not understand the hype. Also, they did not give me a box when I asked for it to go box. They gave me my pizza wrapped in tinfoil and I saw everyone else get a box. It was very strange. It's like these people wanted to cook for other people, but they didn't fully think about how to make it a restaurant.

went on an unusually quiet Friday night thanks to Halloween and were able to get seated immediately. our server was super friendly and gave some great recommendations. the burrata with pesto was INCREDIBLE. one of my favorite burratas I have tried in the city. we also got the Brooklyn pizza and added peppers and grilled pineapple and it was stellar. nice selection of NA beverage offerings too. loved the moodier ambiance and the open pizza oven up front.

Coming from a recent visit to Cornelly where we loved all of the food and found the hype well-deserved, we had the opposite experience at Delancey. I don't usually write Yelp reviews but feel compelled to after how bad this was. Probably about 60% of our pizza was edible, the rest was thoroughly burnt. For the first few bites, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought, "maybe this is just a wood-fire thing and I'm being a baby?" But nah, I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life and this was just burnt. To top it off, each pizza had the same crust but one was so flimsy in the middle that the toppings fell off and the other was burnt to the point it was cracker crust. Not really a hallmark of a consistent pizza establishment, so I don't think this is consumer error. It's a shame and kind of baffling because the toppings were great, there's a great pizza hiding in there if they didn't simply burn it. Save your $100 and go to Stevie's or Cornelly.

The arancini was a special of the evening and came out perfectly hot and crispy. The calamari was also fried very well. I did dock a star because about 80% of the food items on the menu were unavailable even though it wasn't closing yet. We did also get a little lost and ended up at stumbletown's sandwich shop before we found our way here. Luckily they're close by each other!

We walked in as a party of 2 on a Thursday around 9pm and it was not too busy - probably half the bar was occupied. We opted to sit at one end of the bar because the bar seats are where the vibes are at. The place is decorated in a fairly elegant and old school manner, so you are somewhat transported away from the outside reality. We got the Tobe's Thique Mint and Garden Party. I loved the creaminess and cinnamon afternotes of Tobe's Thique Mint, and it also looks somewhat pretty. It is quite a heavy drink, so one was enough to fill me up. The Garden Party was a bit of a miss since as much as I tasted the orange and grapefruit, it was a very light drink and tasted a little watered down. The biggest plus is that the drinks are fairly affordable compared to the greater Seattle area, priced at $14. I liked how their menu says 14 for $14, as they have just 14 cocktails to choose from and the drinks seem to rotate seasonally. For us, we went just in time to still have the spring menu, but they will change to the summer menu on June 20.

We ordered munchies and drinks while we waited for our table at Delancey. The bartender / server knew we would be headed to Delancey in 40 minutes or so, and handled things well accordingly. We got a plate of olives (tasty, great finger food) and drinks. The Yonder cider was good, not too sweet. The Martini was tasty. I had two quibbles: The first was with the pricing: the martini was charged as two separate items: 1) gin (I suppose the charge varies by the kind of gin or vodka in your martini) 2) martini (which is apparently the non-vodka or or non-gin part of your drink) While I'm sure this makes it easier to track for the bartender and inventory, as well as for charging, as a customer, it's a little odd to have a mixed drink be a two-part charge. The second was the included 20% automatic gratuity. I don't object to the concept of a standard service charge, I just wish it had been more prominently displayed so that I wouldn't have added a 20% tip on top of that (and my tip was on the amount that included tax, service charge and drinks / food). So, buyer beware ... the service is good, the ambiance is nice, the food and drinks are good -- but the payment / billing is non-standard, and can cause unexpected surprises.

I am showing my age by saying the restaurant is VERY LOUD, and our table was in a very dark spot in the restaurant. Oddly, they didn't have enough table lamps for all the dark tables. Our server said they "ran out". How does that happen? I stalked a departing table to take their rechargeable lamp. Anyway, my expectations were likely too high going in, and I was annoyed before even ordering, turning on our cellphone light to read the menu. The food is pretty good, though not mind-blowing good like the reviews suggest, and we had one bad dish. They offer varied Khmer dishes beyond noodle varieties, which is a plus. Go if you are looking for variety, skip the fish, bring ear plugs, and hope you have a brighter table than ours. Parking is street only. 3 Stars for the food, minus 1 star for the restaurant environment (unrelated to staff) The Food: k'tiss dip with crudités, $18 - 4 Stars We chose the marrow stone blue oyster mushroom option - p'set. The mushrooms are sautéed in Khmer seasonings, fermented bean curd, and coconut milk. The veggies are mildly pickled. They paired surprisingly well and a unique dish to try. kroeung kumeraage, $15 - 4 Stars This dish has an option of fried chicken or fried mushrooms. We chose the chicken since we already had mushrooms. Kroeung is the Khmer seasoning. Our server said this dish and papaya salad are amongst the most popular. Since we have a veggie dish, we chose this over the papaya salad (which looks great, too). The chicken is lightly fried, not crispy outside, super tender, and paired well with the kroeung aioli. trei chmouy tuk tei omperi, $40 - 1 Star The menu says serves 2 but not really. The is a pan seared fish, make your own fish wrap. We did not know we ordered a DIY dish, which is ok in principle, just not good to be surprised. The menu doesn't say so; the server didn't mention it. Luckily, by this time of the meal, we have acquired the little table lamp, which enabled me to see the long fish bones that had not been removed. FIVE of them. The noodles are a pathetic overcooked limp pile. The best part is the turmeric sauce. Do not order this dish. Epilogue: I happened to walk by Sophon this past weekend. I was surprised to see a sign saying they are temporarily closed to resolve internal issues. (See photo) That is never a good reflection of management. There is now a GoFundMe for the unpaid staff who had to quit their jobs.
