Large Pepperoni
Brian C.

Stopped in for a late lunch and grabbed a couple seats at the bar. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but everyone cleared out not long after we arrived. Ordered a couple of beers and a pepperoni pizza. Pizza was good but a little greasy (pepperoni cups) and the crust was light. Our bartender was nice and very chatty. Overall, probably more of a 3.5 star experience but rounded up for the friendly service.

Dynamite Wings

came in on a Saturday night around 430pm and got seated right away at the bar, I was intrigued by the happy hour menu and I'm glad I came in. I got the dynamite wings for 10$ and a draft beer for 9$, as well as some slices. The servers were extremely welcoming and hospitable. The wings were solid , great portion size, Buffalo/smoky/ chipotle like flavor and goes well with ranch. The daily rotator was the slice with jalepenos, pepperoni and pineapples, great combo, the Ballard slice was the classic meat lover/ combo slice, solid as well. I would certainly come back, the NY style was strong thru the slices and the atmosphere is modern and inviting.

Ordered pizza to go for a football game and I loved how massive the large pizza is. They did not skimp out on the mushrooms which is amazing. Order was quickly made and pick up is easy. Though if you live in the neighborhood, I recommend just walking to it that driving since they're in Ballard Ave.

Good pizza spot in Ballard. The crust was super good. We really enjoyed the salad, olives (appetizer), and Caesar salad! Good place to chat with friends. Options for drinks. They also have a bathroom.

.50 cent buffalo wings, well worth it.

Came in for the wing special on Wednesday. 0cent wings are hard to complain about. The staff was very friendly and the service was good. The rester aunt was pretty dead at one point we were the only one in there and it was only about 745.

The tiniest most expensive gluten free pizza I've ever had.

Honestly so disappointed with this place. Was excited to learn they have gluten free pizza but man was I to be let down. This gluten free pizza is a 10" pizza that wasn't even remotely warm. Not to mention crust was somehow hard and chewy at the same time? I stood outside and called to order as I had my dog with me, the guy who took my order was rude and seemed to be annoyed at my questions. I also paid over $35 for a pizza that was honestly a waste of time and effort for everyone. Do yourself a favor, don't come here if you're gluten free.

Gold metal wire on my pizza!

I was enjoying the pizza until I bit into a slice and found a gold metal wire that was in my slice! Beware of this place!

The pizza was the perfect size for two people and generously loaded with toppings--every bite had a great balance of flavors and ingredients. The crust was just right as well: not too thick, not too thin, and baked to perfection. We also ordered a few drinks. Tucked down the alley by the gum wall, it's a great option for wood fired pizzas. The space is fairly small and very low-lit, but thriving with energy. Our service was fantastic, drinks were good, but besides the pizza the food was pretty hit or miss. We had a table of 4 and we kept the table full the entire time. We started off with a salad, spicy mac n cheese, cheese sticks, and Brie and cheese. Salad was light and refreshing. The cheese sticks were pretty normal, but also good. The spicy mac n cheese to me had zero spice. Just some mac in a cast iron pan. The apple and Brie had a nice presentation but the smallest amount of Brie possible(my picture was too blurry to post). The Broccolini I am not sure how it was defined as broccolini because the 5 pieces that came on the plate were huge. While packed with flavors of lemon and Parmesan they had a very tree like feel and were a bit on the harder side. The El Diablo pizza, to be straight forward was by far the best part of the stop. The crust could have been a little more well done, but that's just me splitting hairs. I ate more of that than anyone else. Probably could have finished it myself if I hadn't stopped for a lobster roll beforehand. Either way, great service, good drinks and legit pizzas!

The pizza itself is actually pretty good, which is why I kept coming back and really wanted to support this small business. Unfortunately, the customer service and wait times have consistently been disappointing. Tonight, I stood at the entrance for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged or greeted me. The employee who eventually helped me was nice, but the overall experience still didn't feel welcoming or attentive. Over several visits, the service has just not matched the quality of the food. In this economy, it's truly a blessing for businesses to still have loyal customers coming through the door and wanting to support local spots. At the very least, customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of when they walk in. I genuinely hope they improve the service side of things because the food has potential, the bar vibes they've created are pretty cool as well and I'd love to be able to give this place a better review in the future.

If that line is intimidating or wet (think rain!) then duck inside to Pizza and Pasta Bar for a delicious meal. While there we met the owners Bruno and Goli who were helping out behind the counter. They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). Except that this logo has hair made of pasta! Good enough to eat! Give this place a try. You'll leave with a big smile on your faces!

No, we warm them up. Ok. How about the mozzarella bread? Yes, we make it to order. Ok. Let me describe this: two pieces of bread, no seasoning, no butter - just open face with shredded mozzarella from a container then placed inside the stone oven on the wall. In a medium nonstick pan, large tong full of wet noodles, one ladle of white sauce, toss them together. Boiled chicken pieces, BOILED chicken tossed into the pan. No seasoning or shredded cheese, or Italian seasoning. Served in a plastic to go container that cost 1.85 extra bc it was to go since they wouldn't allow us to sit w outside food. Although it was empty and we weren't taking anyone else's table. The place is clean. And bright. I also paid for the container for my bread. The food was bland and boiled chicken just made it worse.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

One of the best things about life and being alive! Can you tell I am a bit of a pizza rat haha? Anyhow, I was enjoying the beautiful summer night in Seattle and was hungry around 9:30pm. A lot of places are closed already but this reliable pizza place was open. SWEET!! I walked in and lady working the counter was super nice and helpful. I got a slice of Italian supreme, which has everything. Now looking back though I wish I had gotten one of their Turkish dishes as I would have liked to try their lahmacun and read another Yelpers review and this place is supposed to have the best Turkish lahmacun in the US. Oh well, I guess I will be back! The woman heated up my slice and after a few minutes, it was ready. I took my slice and went to sit outside near Pioneer Square so I could be outside and people watch. Pizza was tasty and solid, but the crust was too dry. I have a feeling the slice wasnt the most fresh, so thats why the crust was a bit dry. But, if you know me, I do jot like soggy pizza (I mean - who does??), so a bit drier isn't too big an issue. The rest of the slice was good. Slice of pizza and a diet coke came to close to $9. Gosh things are so expensive now. They do have a special of 2 slices for $8.99 but I couldnt eat two slices. Id definitely come back here again when back in this area. Thanks for feeding me and if you need a late night spot, this is your place!

Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
