Salesperson marked up price of dress $55 at checkout on Black Friday. We took the dress back and thankfully they honored the higher price for the refund. I know that things get hectic the day after Thanksgiving, but this mistake coincided with offers of $50 credit when you buy $100 worth of merchandise. Seems shifty. We have some merchandise on order from this salesperson and I hope there are no further problems. A second purchase now looks like the same deal, marked up from tag price of dress and then a gift card offered. Also may have been done out of a legitimate $50 gift card used during the purchase. Extremely disappointed that the good name of Neiman's should be associated with this activity. More than shifty! read more

I keep giving Neiman Marcus opportunities to impress me when I travel throughout the country. I have to say, NM keeps disappointing me, I just don't see Customer Service, or staff that is helpful, knowledgeable and or courteous. It bothers me to think that NM gets media attention about being this wonderful store, I just don't see or get it. Think too many media types just look at the expense of the store. I'll keep trying to shop at NM, and keep giving a review to each of their stores afterwards. The store is clean and good displays, but that doesn't sell me the merchandise. read more

Simply awful customer service. The sales representatives are extremely pushy and will try to sell you stuff for their personal gains. When you try to return something, these same reps will have don't care attitude and completely rude. I love Neiman's but this particular location needs to get with it -- the styles are not reflective of Austin. There is a large section of women's formal wear that is too formal to be worn here and the contemporary section is small and poorly curated. With the young, contemporary, trendy/casual demographic in Austin, this Neiman's would do well to reconsider their inventory choices. I have shopped been in on many occasions and within minutes of explaining what I'm looking for, I'm given an iPad and told they can order it for me (after I pay, of course). This has been true across departments -- shoes, accessories, cocktail dresses, jeans, etc. Why would I be in a store if I am willing to purchase online...? I can do that from the comfort of my sofa. read more

A kind saleslady helped me for well over an hour when I was trying to find a pair of shoes and a bag to match a gown. She was patient and thoughtful, and, when it turned out I had left my ID at home (the one weird pain in the neck is that you have to get the Neiman's card to shop there), I arrived back at the store as it was closing, and she cheerfully helped me finish the purchase anyway, which took another 15-20 minutes of her time. I opted not to buy any of the bags there, and she wasn't pushy at all. She just let me look at everything I wanted to look at (and got me a drink of water), and I ended up with shoes that I love and which were perfect for the occasion. I will go back as soon as my wallet can take it, and I look forward to it. It would be better if you could use a Mastercard (or the normal credit card of your choice), but I am still a big fan because of the wonderful customer service; that means more to me than anything else. read more

I run lots of errands on any given day. Sometimes I just got done painting something and am covered in paint. Sometimes I look a tad homeless. Sometimes I look like a superstar...Whatever I might be rocking on any given day I don't hesitate to walk into a high end retailer. Not ever and I mean ever have I not be treated with respect at this Neiman Marcus. I am greeted, asked if I need anything by every employee that I see. I really want to hate this place. I mean I can't afford most of the stuff here, but their customer service in the shoe section (my rockstud Valentinos came from here) is exceptional. They let me stand around and gawk at shoes, try them on and prance around like the Queen of England. Clearly it's a formula that works for them because three out of four of my last big shoe purchases came from here. I like Neiman Marcus but am not a huge fan of this one. I mostly shop in the shoe department and the leased Chanel boutique. Look for Lara if you are in need of a great shoe SA. She is incredibly helpful and lets you look through the seasonal books to see what the entire company has purchased. She is always willing to track down the shoes you want and have them brought in or shipped. She is never pushy and I trust her opinion. The womens' contemporary department stinks. I can never seem to get a fitting room when I am carrying an armload of clothes and the SAs seem totally uninterested in helping. It consists of more generic designers and finding smaller sizes is a pain. One SA, Brandon, is pretty good and stays in contact through emails but the rest are totally unhelpful. I prefer the Barneys CO-OP down the street for service and merchandise. The Chanel "boutique" is nothing special. I have purchased most of my bags here out of convenience. Lauren is a helpful SA in this department. If you want a real boutique experience, make the trek out to the Chanel in Houston. It is HUGE. read more

They were awesome and made us feel welcome in their store. They are both talented make up artists and we will go back there and request them. I have lived in Dallas and Houston-the Neiman Marcus' there are fabulous, and have so much to offer. Austin's is a little less-so, but I still enjoy walking around and buying (although I recently asked my boyfriend to hide my Neimans card because it is EASY to do damage). Better shoe department than the Saks Fifth Avenue (in Austin). Also, I love the epicurean cakes-the Lemon Vodka cake is a big Holiday tradition in my family (SO GOOD! and so bad for you too). read more

I decided to go in to get my eyes done for a wedding I was in. I didn't make an appointment they graciously fit me in between appointments, even though they were short staffed at the makeup counter I use. Ki (pronounced like a car "key") did a absolutely fabulous job in the 20 minutes she had. Ki not only did my eyes but all my makeup. She finished my makeup at 12:30 and I washed my face at 6am. It lasted all day and night! I only applied my lipgloss twice! I love the customer service I revive at this retailer. Doesn't matter how I look or what I'm wearing they always give me exceptional service every customer deserves. read more

If you love perfume (designer and niche), then head to Neiman Marcus at the Domain! They carry Frederich Malle, Guerlain, Hermes, Jo Malone, Tom Ford, Armani Prive, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, and others to name a few. I especially love Kim at the Chanel counter and the gentleman at the Jo Malone counter. I never feel pressured, ignored, or rushed and if I ask for a sample they are more than willing to make me one. I wish they had more "events" though. For example, the other day reps from Chanel came and brought the Les Exclusifs line that is normally only sold at the Chanel boutiques to the store. I wish the Dior counter would bring the La Collection Privee scents and I wish they would have events to showcase more niche perfume brands. read more

After my recent visit to the Neiman Marcus located at the Domain in Austin, I can't help but feel compelled to write a review and give the sales associates the recognition they deserve. I went in for a makeup consultation and was promptly assisted by Alicia at the Armani counter. I explained to her what I was looking for and she did a perfect job of giving me just that. She was kind, knowledgeable, and helped give me tips throughout the makeup application and helped teach me better techniques. Afterwards, Vera helped me find some skin products. Once I told her what I was looking for, she brought me to the Omorovieza counter. There I met Anat, and the two of them helped me get set up with a regimen. I've been following it for the past couple of days and my skin is already feeling better. They gave samples of other products that I might be interested in as well. I left in a rush to beat traffic feeling very satisfied with my purchases and my overall experience. On my way home I called back to thank Alicia for her help as I had meant to do so on my way out. I got home, tried my new products along with a couple samples that night. The next day I realized I wanted to go back to get a few other things I was shown, since I was so satisfied with what I had gotten. I was able to see all three of the these great women again and they happily assisted me. When a couple of products were out of stock they ordered them for me to be delivered at my house. I left with the same elated feeling I had the day before. I've never had such an overwhelming positive shopping experience before, and owe it all to Alicia, Vera, & Anat. read more

Between Louis Vuitton, Tiffany's, and Neiman's, this is a pretty hoity toity corner of the Domain. The last time I went into this Neiman's was summer 2016. I was dressed in a short sleeved t-shirt and shorts, which means my many tattoos were exposed. But this is Austin, right? What's a few tattoos? Who cares about a super casual outfit on a Saturday afternoon? When I walked in, the sales lady's eyes went straight to the large tattoo on my leg and I could tell she didn't think I belonged in Neiman's. However, once I started talking about the Estee Lauder products I wanted to restock and the products I want to try, she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the products Estee offers. So this is another store in the Domaim that carries great products but has no customer service until you demonstrate your willingness to pull out your credit card. read more

Total incompetence, I am on another half hour with the customer service at Neiman Marcus. Also why is there no online chat for NM? Will never purchase through them again. Whatever employee was either helping my Mom or whoever boxes up items from this location really put me in a bind by sending only one return label out of three packages. It seems like any package being sent out, especially as a gift, needs to come with a return or exchange label. So first time on the phone... it took a half hour but they emailed a return label, problem again was it was only one label. My mom thought she would put both in a box to return, but of course it was only enough postage for one item, not two, so the package was sent back to us. So now I am on my second half hour call to clear this up, so hopefully this time is a trick. I am also very bothered that there is no online chat as I could continue working and not having to take up so much of my time with these phone calls, not to mention it makes the transfers of labels and information more straight forward and easy. Nordstom's definitely has NM beat as far as their online and shipping is concerned. read more

Ok, so I never really feel comfortable going into a Neiman Marcus. Maybe this is because I'm never dressed in a three-piece suit, wearing a Ferragamo tie and top hat, though somehow, I don't think that this would help particularly, especially since I'm pretty sure that I could never reasonably afford to outfit myself with anything from the store... well, maybe a pair of socks... Anyway, I was already at the Domain (the SLF wanted to do some wandering), and I needed new shoelaces for my brown dress shoes, so we head in to the Neiman Marcus, and by head in, I mean the girlfriend dragged me in while I left claw marks in the sidewalk. Once inside, we head back to the men's shoe department, where we are greeted by an associate who is impeccably dressed- I swear that this guy could have been in a Bond movie, whereas I'm in a t-shirt, old shorts, and flip-flops. Nevertheless, he treats us as I'm sure he would treat the Monopoly Man, and asks if he can be of any assistance. One glance around, and we see no sign of replacement shoelaces. He then checks behind the counter, confers with another associate, and then tells us that he's going to check in the back for a spare pair of laces. He comes back very apologetic, but with shoelaces, saying that he's not sure that they will work, but to give them a try anyway. He then gets a bag puts said shoelaces in the bag, and gives them to me with no charge. I'm stunned. The shoelaces are probably worth more than the shoes that they're now adorning. I'm sure that I'd be back if I somehow mysteriously won the lottery, or a rich uncle that I didn't know about left me his entire fortune in his will, or whatever, but for now I'm just happy with the way I was treated and the new laces. read more

I come here mostly to buy the Creed Aventus cologne. It's an expensive bottle but totally worth it. The smell is so strong and lasts long. When I spilt the bottle in my purse, the cologne smell wouldn't go away. When I washed my clothes, the cologne was stronger than my detergent. I know that cologne is meant for your body and not the clothes, but I just like some colognes and perfumes that I have to spray everything with it. The Creed Aventus is specifically for men but I still wear it. The salespersons also just to reach their sell goals say it's for both. I just have to agree on this one. read more

Hold on, let me put on my monocle while writing this review (a la Heathers). Newman Marcus you complete me with your shiny marble floors, neat display cases, and blessed space. I was just in H&M and Macy's the day before and while they have you beat on prices, there is a certain amount of bliss in being able to wander through the racks without being shoulder to shoulder with the massive hordes looking to save 8.25% sales tax. And, I definitely appreciate both the personal assistance (went and found my size one in the back and the other at another store) and the ability to bring more than 7 items into a fitting room (shocking I know!!). Clearly H&M takes a more pessimistic view of humanity than NM. The sales persons are always helpful, but not pushy. You can tote around a complimentary bottle of water while your browse. Yes I love saving money on clothes, but there is a certain value in shopping here sometimes. I always come away with a lighter wallet but a greater love of shipping. read more

I can't recommend anyone to waste their time here. You'd be better off just ordering online or driving to Houston. Maybe use this place to decide on how a specific shoe fits from the designer but the service is horrible. I've bought creed perfume from here multiple times and half way through my bottle the cap broke. This happened with more than one bottle.Just came off and they refused to replace my silver mountain perfume after being a loyal customer. So, I will just order online. Plus, the lady who acts like she's better than everyone at the perfume counter is very rude and pushy. The girl in Chanel is nice and had my first purse from them delivered which was great but when my straps broke I was to get charged half another Chanel purse to doc them. Same thing with my jumbo black Chanel. I won't be visiting this neimans again. Sad, sad.. You'd think they'd be nicer to people who spend their money there. Maybe they have just been rude because I came in today in gym clothes. The. Again, they should be carful. Those are usually some of their best customers. Don't buy Chanel or creed perfume from here. I recently had made a make-up appointment at the Bobbi Brown counter for an event later that evening, When I arrived that morning, none of the BB counter employees were present and no one had any idea of why no one showed up. I also had never received a phone call letting me know that there would be no one working. Luckily, a lady from another beauty counter was able to give me a makeover. Unfortunately, I had a severe allergic reaction to the products the following day (I was afraid this might happen and that's why I stick to BB products). As a regular shopper, I would have appreciated being communicated with and had someone call to reschedule so I could make other arrangements. Very disappointing! read more
