I didn't even know there was a store here in Austin. But I also didn't know how old of a boot store Lucchese is; and actually much older than some of the other traditional boot brands. So any company that has making quality products for over a century, well, it has to be quality! It's a small store and I even walked past the entrance as it's a bit unpretentious from the outside, especially when compared to some other nearby boot stores. When you walk in, right away you can see the quality. The colors, the richness of the leather... it all just screams craftsmanship. If you are looking for "work" boots, this is not really the place to come. But instead of rows and rows of boots of varying quality, here you have a nice showcase of nothing but the best possible boots you can ever own. Unlike some stores, they don't pounce on you when you come in the door. They are good at just standing back and letting you look around and when you are ready, there are plenty of sales representatives around to help. I pretty much knew what I wanted and the salesperson, Gabe, showed me a few examples of the Ostrich skin boot I was looking for. It was nice there were a few different styles and colors to choose from. Gabe brought me a few pairs to try on in my size and when you first put them on, it's like putting on a pair of boots you have had for several years. The fit was incredible. Not too tight or too snug but not loose. I walked around with the one boot and was convinced this was the right size. When I put on the other boot, I knew there was no way I was going to leave that store without them. The color was a light brown/tannish color which is nice enough to wear for something more professional, but light enough of a color to just wear with a pair of jeans to anything. Gabe was extremely helpful. No pressure and just made the whole experience perfect. Yes, they are on the high end pricewise, but on the other hand, you are going to have these the rest of your life so think of it that way. And boots like this are never going to go out of style. Great experience and there is no question I am going to be back for another pair once I figure out which type of boot I want next.

I was looking for a popular brand of shoes that had recently come in a slide with a floral design. I had prepaid for them, so I was there to pick them. While I was there, I looked at a few other sandals and also bought a very nice pair of navy blue with a bit of navy blue sparkle on that sandal part. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized the sandals that I purchased online would not fit me. I don't know what I was thinking because slides never do fit my wide foot. I guess I thought they were more like flip-flops but my bad I didn't even open and checked them out while I was at the store. I'm hoping to be able to return them. I did meet the manager and will re-contact him when I get home, but I have no phone service at this time as I am out of the country. I'm very hopeful. I can get the very least due and exchange and apply the amount I paid toward a different style of shoe. There were a huge amount of different shoe design and the sizes were a very good range. I feel compelled to give this in-store location a 1/5, however due to positive experiences with one Team member in-store and the Support Team online, I think it's important to clarify that this review is specific to in-store experiences on South Congress in Austin. Two separate visits I, at some point, felt gaslit, judged and pressured. While these experiences always ended receiving a "have a good day", with a smile, it truly felt like an inauthentic interaction. The first time I had walked into a store, the representative told me the sale was only going on that day. Meanwhile, online it showed it was going on through the weekend and even longer. In fact, the boots were still on sale when I went back to the store two days later. I wonder if they were trying to get the sale the first day... Next, having received a pair of boots that, literally, had a defect, the exchange process was much more complicated than should have been. Any request for a possible exchange was shot down, despite the defects being received from the manufacturer before worn. Fortunately, reaching out to Online Customer Service, resolution was found with kindness and understanding, unlike in-store. In fact, photos sent confirmed that the in-store experience was both inappropriate and unjust. I will not be returning to this store. Nor would I recommend it. No cats (yet) but they had all the letters, longhorns, hearts, etc. I got bats on each, courtesy Kennedy, the "brand manager". Bats. Boots. Battlestar Galactica. By the way, the drink they handed me told me, "Nice handmade boots- I like the lemonwood pegging" and I thanked it. And then the drink said, "Those have tri-layer insoles, you have good taste," and I was like, "Thanks again". And later my drink said, "Of all the soft premium leathers, I think goat suits you best- you look great" and it freaked me out so I asked why my drink keeps saying all these nice things, and they told me the drinks are complimentary.
