Cavender's specializes in boots and western wear. Not exactly my style. I prefer Allen Edmonds wingtips to Tony Llama boots. So why do I love Calenderers? First, phenomenal selection of shoe polishing products and excellent leather care products (great for my car's leather seats). Second, very nice staff. Also, if you're looking for a unique, Texas-themed t-shirt or other gift item, check out Cavenders.

A GOOD HAT IS AN INVESTMENT When you lay out hard earned cash for a hat you'll want to give it some personal flare. You'll want it shaped to showcase your personality by an experienced MASTER MILLINER or HATTER. INTRODUCING: TRAVIS the "Hatter." He grew up in his family's western hat business near College Station. Travis is an exceptional and experienced hatter and I highly recommend him to help you pick out and shape your next hat. If he wasn't a craftsman I wouldn't give him my stamp of approval and here's why I do. QUICK STORY: Followed by a "what's in it for you". I was wearing my a misshaped "American" straw hat that was mangled by a novice hatter, it was. ... a mess. Travis was able to expertly reshape and balance my hat changing it into a great hat. After seeing his workmanship I immediately bought a Resistol for Travis to personalize for me and it turned out amazing. ASK FOR TRAVIS. ... WHATS IN IT FOR YOU? You'll walk away wearing a quality hat with a perfect fit and professionally personalized just for YOU. Remember, y'all can always show off your new hat to your friends on the dance floor at the Wild West in Cedar Park.

First time buying boots and hats at a Cavender's in TX. Definitely more of a rhinestone cowboy apparel joint. Glad they carry some Ariat and Charlie Horse items. 3 of 5 stars because the women selections for hats and hatbands was only 1 or 2 options (with only smalls in stock) and the customer service was awful. They also had very limited options for boots over size 8. The employees we came into contact with were crabby and tried to rush past and not make eye contact when they could see we were looking for help. The people at the checkout counter were a bit better. We visited in Feb 2022 a few weeks before the Rodeo in Austin so maybe they've been busy and dealing with a lot of people that need help and they're worn out? Hope they figure that out because the store was clean and setup well in a good shopping location right off a main road. We'll probably try a different location and not come back to this one in a few months when we want summer options.

Looking for anything Western fashion? They have it- boots, hats, belts, dresses, jeans, mens button shirts, home accessories, even gift items all in one spot. Slightly smaller than the Cavender's south of town, this one makes up in customer service. The clothes are reasonable priced and the hats ($20-150 and up) and boots ($50 -1000). It is well stocked and has lots of parking. I have found myself bringing out of town friends or picking up a Texas themed gift.

Wow, we spent hours here & loved every minute! It was like Disneyland, we didn't know where to start shopping. But we did. We brought our previously purchased felt hats that needed some TLC. The men there happily took care of them & sent us back in the retail wonderland. My husband & son started in the boot section & were immediately greeted by Rob. He had great patience with their boot preferences. Then it was off to find jeans. Wow, the selection was almost endless. The dressing rooms were a bit small, in my opinion, but they didn't care. Finally I got to look at the women's boots. Way too many choices for me but I persevered. Then it was back to the hat section to pick up our refreshed hats and guess what, I found a new one for me that I just had to have. Off to the rodeo tomorrow & we are all set thanks to them!

First time at Cavender's and I was looking for a cowboy hat. I was impressed with the selection at first until I realized that they did not have many sizes above a 7. I was looking for a 7 3/8 or 7 1/2 but there were only a handful of options available in either straw or felt style hats. The staff was very nice and referred me to other Cavender's that have a bigger selection of the hats I was looking for, and I would certainly be back if I was looking for boots or other Western-wear. I will say it is a little pricey for the clothes/accessories they are offering, but perhaps they are better quality than the same brand elsewhere. I would be back but I want to try and look for other Western-wear stores in the area to suit my needs. The gentleman at the hat section was very helpful. I do not recall his name but he deserves a raise.

    John, the boot expert!

The trick to Cavender's is walking in with a plan. You want cowboy boots that are comfy but good-looking enough to go dancing in? Or how about some boots for some serious horseback riding? Or maybe you want some durable denim jeans for some work in the garden. Btw, please tell me you're not going to tuck those jeans in your boots, y'all, cause that's just not done in Texas. Whatever your Western-wear objective, walk straight in and request the assistance of the boot "expert" or the buckle "expert" or what-not. They WILL have that expert on hand and he or she will make a real difference in your informed purchase. It's not Allen's Boots, so don't go craving the deluxe boot. This is a store for people who are going to buy a pair of boots that are going to see them through the next 20 years of their lives and work right alongside them. Take John, for example. We waited about 4-5 minutes for him to come out, but when he did... wow. This boot expert outfitted the girls in riding boots that will fit them perfectly even when their feet grow an extra half size. They really did! That's a tall order. Good prices, too.

Good day, Wanted to…read morereach out and share my experience on a release by Sneaker Politics. There was an Air Max 95 Bandana Release on Saturday, during SXSW on 3/14. I got to the store at 9:30am and was greeted by a gentleman (smaller black guy with shades), who gave me the details of how the release was going to work. He granted me a wristband that had #3 on it. Door opened at 11 and majority of people got wristbands and lined up. Everyone lined up according to their numbers on their wristbands. With me being #3, I entered the store and bought the releases. I understand that it's a release, so I do understand one per person. When I walked out there was a Hispanic male outside who worked with the store giving out wristbands. I wanted to get my daughter a pair, so I asked could I get back in line grab another. The line was really long. I grabbed another wristband and was #76. I was told from that Hispanic male that o could get another but I had to go to the back of the line, which is what I did. I waited and waited until my turn. The line grew longer behind me. When I reached the registered, the same gentleman (black guy with braids) who checked me out the first time said I couldn't get about pair until everyone got a pair. He said if I wanted another pair then I needed to get out the store and wait back in line (which is what I did the second time and was #76). I showed him my green #76 wristband and he rudely said i needed to get back in line again to get another pair. I was not trying to argue, so I told him I'd do that but this was wrong. I was disappointed. The black guy in braids stated that he was the manager and there was nothing I could do to get another pair right then and there. I told him the guy with the wristbands said I couldn't get back in line. He said "the guy outside with the wristbands is a part time guy who doesn't matter to the store." He's not the manager, I am the guy to make the decisions." He was very rude! I walked out and got back in line AGAIN! When I got back in line, there were others who had got back in line who were in front of me and waited twice while it was my third time to wait in line for a 2nd pair. The line was long. A few guys had bags in front of me. Just made me feel upset and targeted. The line moved and I was now one guy away from the register. The guy in front of me also had a bag and pair in his hand that he bought earlier. But he didn't wait 3 times like me. When it was my turn, I told the managers in braids, "am I good now because I waited." He laughed and said he was the manager again. He gave me a speech about how he makes the calls and that I got the pair I needed. He said, "you got the pair you needed, right?" Very rude, while laughing, and it felt like he was really making fun of me. He then used profanity and mentioned that he needed to make his living. "You're not going to fucking stop me from making my money, you got your pair didn't you?" I didn't say anything, then I kindly mentioned I'm not going to argue, I just want to make a purchase and leave. He gave me my pair and checked me out. I kindly reached over to shake his hand or give him a dap. He laughed at me and didn't bother shaking my hand, so that's when I left. My experience with Sneaker Politics was very disappointing. All the other employees were great until I reached that gentleman. Very unprofessional, laughed at me, used profanity, and I'm sure he didn't have that conversation like that with other customers. I felt dumb and targeted but thankful I got me and my daughter a pair!

Staff were friendly and the overall ambiance was chill without being dull or overwhelming. Typical retail prices are to be expected, nothing too crazy. That said, I wish they would carry more unisex footwear in smaller sizes. I typically wear 6 women's and 4/4.5 in big kids. I prefer the latter due to better color-way variations. Solid spot to check out and try on the latest footwear.

My first attempt was a failure because I had to go to the bathroom urgently and they don't have one. I rushed to the La Condesa restaurant across the street who were kind enough to let me use theirs. I returned to the store and spent my sweet time picking out options. One of the things that caught me eye ended up being a top, not a skirt. Since I was there solo, and carrying a lot of my own stuff, I asked the fitting room attendant if he could help me if sizes weren't wrong. He did this two separate times and was lovely throughout the whole experience! I decided to go with a different top as the one pictured, and in the wrong size, but I needed that denim crop. I'l probably eventually sell it but the green skirt is going to be one of my new staples for sure The other store attendant who helped me with the shirt/not a skirt debacle ended up being the one at the cash register and gave me a big shopping tote to fit my new clothes, and the personal belongings I couldn't fit inside my North Face backpack.
