I had a 2:15 PM appointment and carefully planned this shoot because my daughter was visiting and had a limited window before needing to catch her flight. We coordinated outfits and paid for professional makeup in advance to be fully prepared. When we arrived, we were told the studio was over an hour behind schedule because one employee arrived late and another did not show up. Due to the delay, we were forced to cancel the appointment, as my daughter would not have been able to complete the shoot before leaving for the airport. All we received was an apology. There was no accommodation, rescheduling priority, or compensation, despite the inconvenience and financial loss. The cost of the makeup alone exceeded the price of the photo shoot, making this experience especially frustrating. Scheduling and staffing issues happen, but when clients invest time, money, and careful coordination for a meaningful moment, better accountability and customer care are expected. read more

I hated JCP as a kid, and today I decided I still hate it as an adult. This particular location seems like it's going down the drain and might be closed for good soon, except that they're doing renovations on only the middle of the store for sephora. Disgusting changing rooms featuring trash, clothing tags, and glitter from prom dresses littered all over the floor. There were stains on the carpet and chairs, and the wallpaper was peeling off. Weird smell. I felt like I couldn't peruse at my leisure because there were so many employees around talking to each other. There was a female employee staring at me as I walked into her bra section, and only after I said hi did she say hi back. I didn't feel comfortable there, and then a male employee came over ~to the bra section~ and they started laughing and talking together. I just left. I did find 2 pairs of pants that were on such a hefty sale that I only spent $20 for both, but I really don't think it was worth the terrible experience. read more

I think the last time I set foot in a JCPenney's was in the 1980s when big box retailers were everywhere. I came here looking for some simple work slacks. Walmarts selection was pathetic so I thought I'd give this place a try. I found some, but they didn't have what I was looking for and the price started in the 40s. Even the deals were not exactly what I'd call deals. To its credit, the store was well laid out, organized, nice and cool and the staff were quite friendly. They even have a large Sephora area inside. Unfortunately I left there empty-handed. These pictures in the review will give a little more insight. read more

This has been my go-to clothing store ever since Casual Corner shut down. I've been very happy with them taking their place. I have been able to find quality skirts and dresses throughout the year. This is also the only place in town I've been able to find the Levi's that fit me. I recently found myself in a rush to find a formal dress for an event that popped up on me. I crossed my fingers and rushed to the store and found a, albeit small, selection of appropriate dresses to choose from. I was saved! I'm also pleased with their annual coat sale in December. There's nothing more wonderful than Christmas shopping at a store where the customer service is outstanding! We decided to take advantage of the many sales here today. It started with Nakeesha in jewelry. Her professionalism and cheery demeanor made for a relaxing and fun shopping experience. We purchased an item in another area of the store and were checked out by a customer service agent named Claudie who also greeted us with a beautiful smile and excellent customer service. I don't know what JCPenney is doing but other stores and restaurants should follow their example and hire true professionals to work for them. read more

I'm one of those crazy Black Friday (Thanksgiving Day) shoppers. While I do wish the stores would stay closed on Thurs, I still find myself waiting in long lines to get my deals. Everyone at the store was upbeat and very nice even though they had to work this madhouse. Thurs I probably waited in line for 1.5 hours, but the cashiers kept things moving as much as possible. The real stand out though was on Fri. I went back to see if what deals were still left. My cashier this time was Richard. What a great guy! Called me Miss M____, laughed and joked, and just all around made it a great experience. I know how hard it is to work those days. Not Much to really say about this place...Clean, Fancy Looking, Not many customers. Shopping for new pants for work. Found what I needed...Seamed that everything was Buy One Get One Free, and expensive, but still a deal. Very few employees as well, and really no communication when passing thru. The only thing that was a bit of pain, was the fact when I checked out, there was a line...No big deal really, until I noticed the 3 of the 4 people ahead of me where there to return items. They should really have a customer service counter for this. Each return was long and drawn out. I will order online, and pick up in store next time...If the option is there...Sad to see big chains operated like this, they never have the personal customer service any more...How they stay afloat, I will never know!! read more

I've never heard anything good about JCPenney. Literally never. Still, we found curtains for our master bedroom that we liked almost as much as the ones that cost as much as a used car at the trendy downtown boutique. So we placed our order and went ahead and paid for them. We had been remodeling our bedroom for a few weeks and wanted to put the project behind us, so it was a bit annoying to be told the curtains would take about four weeks to be shipped (to the store, not to our home). We made a note to come back after four weeks and make do in the meantime with the gross 1970s curtains inherited from our home's previous owner. Fast-forward four weeks. We go in to get the curtains only to be told, "They were here three weeks ago, and you didn't come to pick them up so we returned them." Our money was refunded, but we'd rather have our curtains. If anyone had called us we would have been happy to know they had come in early. Now we still don't' have any curtains, when we should have had them a month ago, and we're back at square one. Of courses, we got no offer from JCPenney to fix their error or help us at all. Why is this place still a thing? read more

Can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. I come here often enough. Should have... Oh well, it's OK. Everything happens for a reason, and i believe if I had already written a review I may not have written what I'm about to.. So, I think it paid well. ;-) The staff is so friendly. You can absolutely tell they love their job and do whatever they can, with a smile, to make it right.. If there even was a wrong to begin with. Awesome. That's just they way they are. Ordered panties for my daughter online, they arrived (same size I always buy) but this time they sent me the wrong size.. A 6 and a 10. A 10?? Umm I don't think so. lol. The 6 was much larger than normal and the 10, well, I didn't order that. But I called and they gave me a $10 off coupon, and told me to exchange for whatever. Thank you I did. The lady was great. Easy to work with and knew what she was doing. She credited my account and and I went on my way. Went and shopped for whatever and checked out. Easy, simple, discount reward was there. Thank you. And unsaved bookoos of bucks. ;-) No, seriously, I did.. My order totaled $130 and I walked out paying a wimpy $25! Yep, you read that correctly! $25.. and proud of it. I really can't say enough positive things about this Sephora location inside JC Penny's...everytime I come to shop at Sephora it just makes me sooooooo happy to try on all the lipsticks, lip matte stains, lip creams, ect, ect, ect. I really do try on LOTS of products! And I love how if I want to try out a new makeup concealer or foundation I can get a small sample to take home to try out before I commit to buying. AND I love how if I do buy a makeup product and don't like it for whatever reason I can always return it to Sephora with no issues. I also Love the Sephora staff..so nice, very helpful, & they each know their makeup! So if I have a question they can answer & also give great product reviews and recommendations. And they are honest about the products so if a product is to drying or not lasting they will let you know. I'm all about time management so how awesome is it that I can have fun in Sephora AND get to check out the clothing clearance racks in JC Penny's!!! read more

The most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. I went in to return a couple items and they gave me the incorrect amount back. I had to go back to come to find out the employee owed me money. I went to the manager to complain and she did not help what's so ever. Made everything so complicated and didn't even get my full amount in return. I will never be returning. read more

I was really surprised today to find a large "husky" section but no "slim" section or even slims mixed in with the regulars. Fortunately my son can wear the regulars if they have an adjustable waistline but he is so slim that usually they get a kind of bunched look so "slim" works much better. I'm still giving them 3 stars because this is the first time this has happened and I am hoping it is a fluke. We shall see. We were able to get him some really cool shirts for a really reasonable price so that is the 3 star worthy as well. read more

I just discovered this Penney's not long ago. It's not too far from our house and I like that we don't have to go all the way to a mall to go there. From the outside it's somewhat trashy. There is a huge boarded up window in the front of the store, and trash on the ground everywhere. The inside of the store looks like a typical JC Penny. It is clean and organized for the most part. We found tennis shoes & shirts my teen son likes, but didn't find shorts that fit him good. I'm glad to know about this store! We will be back. read more

Had some problems with getting my coupons to work after opening a JCP credit card. Richard in the Order Pickup department was very helpful! I even remember his face because he was the one to help me around Black Friday weekend with an online return. He was just as helpful and friendly today as he was a few months ago. He apologized for the inconvenience of coming into the store but made it worth the time and drive here and receive true customer service. I like shopping here! There was a young girl with tattoos who checked me out and she is always great. She's fast and accurate and I like that she's so friendly. I like the clothes and home goods here. Basically your typical jcp. They have a great selection of everything. The only thing I don't really care for is the sephora. The women working here are nice and friendly, but I hate how the pricing on the self isn't always accurate. It says $18 and rings up $15 - or it says $15 and rings up $23. It's not about the money, it's about the accuracy. But in the end it's fine because I'll just shop at a different sephora and it's not a big deal. With the exception of the sephora, I really do like shopping here. read more

Stopped in to get a few pair of slacks and a new pair of dress shoes for work. I found lots of options on the slacks some evean in my price range and size on the clearence rack. I always have trouble finding slacks in my size for some reason. The shoe dept needs help on keeping inventory in stock almost ever shoe I wanted to try on in mens size 10.5 or 11 was out of stock. I ended up just buying the display model the sales associate did take 10% off the shoes. All in all it was a fairly positive experiance lots of no hassel fitting rooms. Vetry clean well organized store. Prices are a little more than Target but cheaper than anything at the mall. read more

Customer service was horrible, spent almost 20min waiting in line to check out .. The lady checking me out had an attitude and was slamming everything. I went to checkout for a pair of shorts I found for a good price $12.99. The register lady rang up my shorts for $17 and i told her the price was wrong she continuously rolled her eyes and tried to call her manager. The manager came and asked what the original price was which was $30 discounted to $12.99 like the sign said on the table I got the shorts at and she said "$12.99 from $30 doesn't sound right but whatever honor the price" then she walked away and the register lady called her back to change the price when she came back to change the price on the computer she looked at me and asked me "what price did you want again?" which very much frustrated me to the point that I reacted very rudely, making me feel like I was lying and just trying to get a discount which was very much frustrating. I was already fed up and at the end of it I didn't even want the shorts. The manger refused to even check for the sales price that was going to end up proving her wrong. Towards the end , I didn't even care about what the price was going to come out to be, I explained to the manager at that point I didn't care , to either change it or leave it at $17 it did not matter. Turns out after I left that day I went back online to check the pricing and as explained , the shorts turned out totaling to $12.99. Turns out the disrespect and attitude was uncalled for , proving the saying "customers are always right." read more

Horrible service. I recieved the run around trying to use my service plan to get a stone replaced in my ring I purchased April 2018. I was given a number to call from an associate. I called that number and was told I needed to go back to the store and they will complete the process. Very frustrating no one seems to be on the same page as to how the process works. read more

I'm usually very happy when I shop at this location. It's big with enough variety, but not too big that you can't find an associate for help. One of the few stores that both my boyfriend and I can stay entertained. Guilt-free because you always walk out with great deals! I usually hate department stores. It's like, goodness; Where do I begin? I head to Sephora, first thing. They don't carry EVERY brand that I look for, but they have a good selection. The ladies there are nice. I left really excited with my huge Sephora purchase, then headed to the shoe department where they had the shoes I'd been holding off on! I couldn't leave them behind this time. The man in the shoe department was also very polite. They have a good shoe clearance selection that is organized by size, with a price sticker facing out to make it easier when you're just browsing. I noticed all the spring/summer shoes were pulled forwards, along the aisles. (With no intentions to shop) my boyfriend still picked up a few clothing items from the 'Arizona' line. Great spring season pieces, too great of deals to leave behind. He found so much Texas Ranger apparel that we had been looking for, for months. Well-stocked, color variety and sizes. We were approached by an associate who offered us help, after a while, asked if we were still doing okay, and lastly offered the easy/express credit card check out. Customer Service is outstanding. With a new baby just days away...JC Penney catalog is here and we had our baby furniture delivered to this location. Pick up was easy and they helped me load the crib on top of our crossover. Got home and the headboard was damaged. Oh no. A baby coming with no place to sleep....Called up catalog, they gave me the manager Chuck and he was extremely professional, caring and understanding to our impending "bundle of joy". Chuck thought outside the box(or crib in this case) and came up with a solid solution. He made phone calls to get an exchange plus kept in touch with us regularly. This manager understands customer service. The story ends well(bouncing baby girl - sleeps well in the heirloom crib) and JCP has earned our loyalty.
