It's taken me 6 weeks to decide to write this review. I was going to let my 3 experiences with Nails Uncorked go and move on, nothing more to see here, folks. I was going to just toss them on the trash pile of the four other nail salons I have tried in my apparently endless and futile search to find a decent salon since I moved here to Eugene 7 months ago. In nail years, that seems like a lifetime. But the more I thought about it, the more I felt I had to go on the record. Which I have done with the owner, the manager, the receptionist and the main nail technician, who aren't that interested, evidently, in what I, the customer, who makes their freaking business roll, had to say. I say this without knowing whether they actually listened to me or not, because I voted with my feet, walked out (after the third bad experience) and have not and will not ever go back there. 1. The first time will be like opening presents. They will be all about the customer service with you. THE FIRST TIME. When they will sell you a 10 dollar glass of wine, and fuss and and fall all over you, and this will delight you and make you feel oh so special. They will call you honey, and queen, and in my case, mama. Which was weird, and made me feel a little uncomfy, but the Pinot Gris helped. The wine thing is a genius business model and a great money making idea. I gotta say. The stations even have little racks to put your wine glass in. So cute, so thoughtful. 2. The second time will not be as fun. Because now, as a repeat customer, they don't give a poop about how they treat you. Your technician will rush, and he will be rough and hurt you, and he will ignore your pleas to a) slow down, b) lighten up with whatever tool is setting your nails on fire. The manager, receptionist, and owner will politely listen to you when you complain about this, and will then shrug and say, "yes, we know, but there's not much we can do." No wine will be offered to dull the pain of the dremel drill. I suppose you could ask, but they won't suggest/offer it. 3. The third time they will completely ignore you when you walk in. The technicians will look up from their phones, glance at you and go back to their oh so important business. The receptionist will (if she's even at the front desk-they had to go find her) will tell you to have a seat. Where you will wait a HALF HOUR past your appointment time. And be ignored while you wait. Would have been a perfect opportunity to sell me a glass of wine, and make a little something extra off me, no? Take my edge off at having to wait kind of thing? But nope, didn't happen. At which point, I got up, informed the receptionist I was leaving, because I have a life, and an appointment is an appointment. Done. Peace out. For that day and for all time. If you are willing to put up with all that, knock yourself out and give them your $$$. Your nails will look nice. Me, I don't care to be jerked around, hurt, ignored and ultimately disrespected like that. Not even for an overpriced glass of wine and a decent set of pink and whites. read more

My wife says to avoid the gateway location. She likes the west 11th location but even that is midsy according to her. Try Brennan at Belissimo if you want to get what you are paying for. These people charge top dollar and give you medium grade nails with little to no art. On par with the shitty mall shops, but they give you a glass of box wine to justify the up charge. read more

I got the luxury pedicure and honestly there was nothing special about it, the lady next to me a classic pedicure and it seemed like the same treatment and time. The guy I had was trying to cut my ingrown but decided not to so now my toe is irritated on both side. I will come back. Only place i could find open on Sundays also. read more

I really wanted to love this place. First I went for a pedicure that was AWESOME. I decided to being my mother there to get manicures and I got the worst gel manicure I have ever had unfortunately. They were out of the TWO gel colors I asked for, and the service was extremely rushed, I got lotion patted on the tops of my hands for a second. I went in the next day and they fixed it (thankfully) but for some reason the person at the counter still charged me $3 when I went up to leave a tip...I'm going to find another go to place because who wants iffy service? I went in and got their signature pedicure -- $45 for an amazing massage and hot stone work plus a pedicure! I decided to upgrade to gel polish for an extra $10 because I have a long trip coming up and want the longevity. The nail tech Jenny was SO amazing. She totally listened and genuinely cared when I told her that I have oily nail beds and she took extra time and attention to detail to make sure the gel would really adhere. She was lovely to talk to and we had a real conversation -- not small talk and not fake chit chat. She's the real deal and was a genuine pleasure to spend time with. She loves what she does and it shows not only in her personality but also in the care she takes in her work. I like my water HOT HOT HOT when I get a pedicure, so I made sure to ask for hotter water and Jenny didn't even blink -- that puppy was drained and the water was nice and toasty not even a minute later. Just like I like it! (If I don't feel like a boiled lobster when I get out of a shower or a bath, then did it even happen? That's my mentality, basically.) I've seen other reviews of people saying the water wasn't warm enough -- don't be afraid to pipe up! They'll help ya! And those mimosas? YES, PLEASE! $5 for a double, with a whole bunch of flavor options! I opted for grapefruit and it was real grapefruit juice with really tasty champagne (and I can be a little picky about my champagne). So, the first time I came here I got a really excellent mani pedi. But this last time... my friend and I went and instead of wait for two nail techs to be available, they started hers and I just sat with my feet in tepid water for over 15 minutes. In the end, she was done with her mani before mine was even started because of this AND because of the ineptitude of my nail tech. He literally spilled acetone on my foot and just left it there, have a super lame massage and then kept blinding me with the lights from the gel nail curer. Which brings me to the MAIN reason I am writing This, and that's because two of my gel toe nails have fallen off, and they've been on less than a week. And the top coat of my gel finger nails has worn off on the tip Of almost every nail. Really displeased. read more

This new space is gorgeous and huge! It is great for big groups wanting to go get pedicures together! They even have a separate room that you can ask for if available. Three of us went on a Saturday afternoon and they got us right in. They had so many polish choices that it was almost hard to pick. The pedicures were enjoyable although my nail tech was a bit rough on my nails and definitely made me flinch a few times and she was also done sooner than the other two and we all started at the same time. I have gone to Nails uncorked for years, I am done!!!!!! You have to go till you find someone that is good. which I have done a few times over the years as they get lax and spoiled and start doing a bad job. The owner of these businesses does nothing to help the employees improve, like extra in house training and it can be a mess!!! I have had very painful manicures that ripped the top of my nails off due to lack of knowledge about what they are suppose to be doing. Had to stop one manicurist as it was just crazy and painful! I kept going back when Found one that knew what was a decent manicure. they are not trained to be nice to customers either. I am looking for a different place to get mine done!!! , read more

I have been to multiple other nail salons as well as Nails Uncorked more than once. Unfortunately after paying the $10 extra to have gel polish and have it not come off. 2 peeled up in just 3 days. I asked if I could get the gel removed and just have black put on at no charge since I was worried that the rest of my nails would do the same thing, and I spend $100+ there a couple days prior. Since I would have had to pay I said never mind, to just fix the two that were already messed up. This was easy and there was no issues. Which I greatly appreciated. But now, 2 days after that, my pinky nail is now peeling up just like the other two did. Leaving black nail polish splotches wherever it touches(I'm assuming they weren't fully cured when I first got them done???). So, I've had my nails done for 5 days now and the gel from 3 have already peeled off leaving them ugly unprofessional looking each time because it's sticky underneath. I'm not sure if I'll go back to Nails Uncorked after this because I've never had this happen with my gel polish EVER. I DO know if I decide to go back, it will NOT be on a day they're super busy so I can feel confident I will be taken care of and not rushed out with uncured nails. So I have yet to find a nail salon in the area I love enough to return to routinely. On top of looks and customer service skills, there's two more big determiners on my return, how long did the polish stay on (due to normal wear and tear did it chip, peel or fade within a week) and lastly (and maybe most importantly) was anything done in a way that physically hurt me/caused pain. The gal that worked with me was nice, great customer service, very nice. The shellac polish on my fingers is beautiful, I got it done two days ago and so far, wonderful! Sadly I don't know if it's how she cut the nail or what but my left big toe is red, slightly swollen and painful. I don't know what was done but it hurts, it's now draining puss. That one item is why I left 3 instead of 5 stars. I might return for a manicure but likely not a pedicure, I don't like paying for pain. I may still look elsewhere, I prefer to be able to do it all at once, mani/pedi. Update: After speaking with the manager they provided me a gift card for the value of the pedicure (without being asked for it), recommended a salt soak, Advil and said if it got worse and I needed to visit my doctor to bring them the bill and they'd pay for it. read more

Great place to relax with a glass of wine while getting a fill and pedicure. The staff is very friendly and do a good job.

This is the only place i really like here in Eugene to get my nails/toes done. Here and their gateway location, probably because it's upscale and they understand the modern nail look but that's about it.I have had a couple of bad experiences: my cuticles getting cut by the drills to the point where I'm bleeding 3 times in the same appt and REALLY ready to leave. pedi taking 1 hour and 45 mins because the guy was brand new. Once again just wanted to leave. They also should work on their phone etiquette when making an appointment, its very rushed and they don't listen. When I walk in every single time it's rushed again, and when I've made an appointment i still ALWAYS wait 10-15 mins before I'm seated. It's always kind of rocky. Find a nail tech you like and trust and request them is my biggest tip. Plus the managers should attempt to make this a more relaxing experience. Pleased with the customer service I have been to West 11th Nails Uncorked twice. Each time I had to have my nails re done because I was unable to communicate my needs to the nail technician (English as a second language). Both times I reached out and they were fixed right away. Even though I had to have them re done, I'm giving them a 5 star because of their customer service and being quick to take care of their clients. Jay did my re do the second time and did an amazing job. He had great attention to detail. I'm very happy with them. The shop is clean and always professional. I went to this place because my partner wanted to treat me to my first mani-pedi. I was excited, and we booked an appointment time with him and two other friends. I am extremely allergic to nuts and nut products, so I informed the man at the reception--he noted it on my slip, and we all went back for our pedicures. I informed the older man who was doing my pedicure that I was allergic to nuts and to please not use the walnut scrub or any product with almonds. He didn't respond. My pedicure was...seriously disappointing. My partner and friends were receiving lovely massages, toe scrubs, hot towels, and attentive care. My service provider half heartedly walked through the process, spent 2/3 of the time on my right calf, didn't do half the processes everyone else was experiencing. He then slathered my leg with WALNUT SCRUB, which immediately began to sting! One of my friends yelled down the aisle to the provider next to me that I was allergic and to tell him to rinse off the scrub, which she did, as he clearly didn't understand English. After that, I was VERY nervous and insisted he show me all the product containers so I wasn't exposed to allergens. Not even remotely relaxing, and SERIOUSLY poor service! The manicure was equally as disappointing, with the same lackluster approach. This was supposed to be a great experience and happy gift from my partner. It turned out to be a health risk and very poor service, and completely disappointing. Way to wreck what was supposed to be a fun day! I can't recommend these people at all. read more

I am soo bummed. I went in to get a mani/pedi after a really rough day. I had some gel polish on my finger nails and instead of soaking it off, it was drummeled off. The shape of my nails were all crooked and when I asked to have them reshaped, they kept filing but not where or how I was asking and just making them shorter and shorter. All of my nails looked crooked and still had some of the old gel on them and they were going to paint them like that. I finally just asked if they could stop. They offered to put a clear coat or something on them and I just said no, so I could go home and fix them myself. I also got a regular pedicure before that. The pedicure wasn't great and they didn't paint my toenails completely, but it was better than them getting too much paint everywhere, so I let it go. The person doing my nails was SO NICE, but I was so frustrated by the lack of listening to me and lack of skill. The only reason I'm even bothering to write this review, is because when I went to pay I had to explain why I didn't have a gel manicure like they had marked on my sheet (because I didn't like the way my nails looked/were prepped, at all) and they didn't even offer to have someone else do it or fix it in anyway. In summary, I'm not frustrated because of the lack of skill, I'm frustrated that they were fine having a customer walk out of their salon so unhappy. I know plenty of people that have had great experiences here and go regularly; I must be just been one of the unlucky few. read more

I've gotten charged $5 at the Springfield location to remove my acrylics, I happened to be close to the west 11th location this time and they charged me $12 at first and then changed their minds to $16. She was not gentle at all whatsoever and had an attitude about me not doing more with my nails so she could make more money off me. I have been happy with nails uncork and had been going there for 2 plus years. I had made appointment and it was made for another day by mistake and my nail technician read not happy with me it was just miscommunication on when I was supposed to come in it was wrote down wrong and I showed up on the next day well now I can't even get in my nail tech is mad at me so now I need to find a new person to go to and when I was getting my nails done he would always leave me to go do something else and then come back poor customer service I always tipped him well because he did a fantastic job but now I am not going to go there anymore read more

This was my first and will be my last time at this salon. I had dip on before coming in, and the nail tech tried to peel it off with her nails! Um, ow!!! So then she used the drill before putting the foil and cotton on my fingers (okay I'm with ya now) then pulls out the gellish UV light and has me alternate hands for 10 minutes and she's nowhere to be found. People kept coming over to talk to her and I could tell they were talking about me. She didn't buff my nails or file them or clean up my cuticles before doing the dip. Then when she was ready for the dip, she poured some of it out into the cap but dipped my nails in the bigger container anyway! It kind of defeats the purpose of being sanitary because she poured the dip from the cap back into the bigger container when she was done. Way overpriced salon for the quality you get. I got my nails done on a Monday. They were beautiful when I left. The next day The nail polish on one peeled completely off, and my thumbnail broke half off. I went on that Wednesday and had both nails fixed. by the next Monday (exactly a week from me getting them done) Two more of my nails broke in half. I called the nail salon, and told him we had happened. I am fun than that I live in hour way. That I come into town once a month to get my nails done. So, I can't drive all the way back to have two nails fixed again. I was told they were going to speak to the manager and get back with me. I never got a callback. After spending $100 on getting my nails and toes done. It's extremely disappointing that I have had a total of 3 nails break within a week of getting them done. I had a gift certificate for $52 for a pedicure, it was a signature deluxe, I told the girl when I went in, she said ok fill this out, very unfriendly! I chose gel polish and nothing else, because I had a gift certificate, so I was called back by Peter, had a really great massage, hot rocks, which is included in that pkg. Chose my color of gel polish and all was fine and looked great! Peter brought my slip which says $62, mind you I only had $52. Went up to leave and give my gift certificate, the girl said $10!!! I said I don't have $10 I have a GC, she says you have to pay, well long story short, I am on disability, had no money in my account, or anywhere else! She said then we take off your polish!!! I said ok let's go! Not only should they know the pkg and price, remember I told her, she denied it! So I told everyone In the salon to never go back there!!! This girl humiliated me in front of patrons, and talked about it in front of all the patrons when she came in the back to let me know I should have told her my GC was $52 then she would have told me gel polish is $10 extra!!! My toes and pedicure look, felt great, Peter was very good, and the girl who removed my polish was Amy, she was nice and really understanding! Not happy with this place at all.. I came here from out of state and just wanted to get a gel polish change and what happen he took my nails completely off and just painted my real nails. I have acrylic over my natural nail just for added strength and length. He spoke maybe 3 words to me. I even told the person at the front desk that I just wanted my color changed nothing taken off and then you could clearly tell he was aggravated with even have to bother with me and they make it very noticeable when they are talking about you. Worst part is I had just got my nails done a week before in the state I am from only to come here and get them drilled off so hard he burnt me and made my nails do thin they are hurt.
