I called on Monday for an appointment Wednesday at 5:30 without a problem. I ask for a pedicure and gel paint removal. I showed up at 5:30 and was warmly welcomed. I looked at the colors, which took me some time. They had a lot of selection, but I was hoping for a neon green by a higher-end brand. I didn't see one, so opted for a purple from OPI. They sat me at a chair near the door, which I appreciated. There was plexiglass between me and the manicurist and me and the pedicurist. Everyone was also wearing masks. The gel removal went smoothly and quickly. I was asked if I wanted to repaint, but I declined because my nails were left looking great post-removal! The pedicure was pretty standard up until the hot stone massage, which made it worth every Penny. Amy helped me and had firm hands. It was a lil painful at times but just what my tired legs needed. This is a very small shop run by husband and wife. They are very professional and personable. We had great conversation as I enjoyed my experience receiving a manicure and pedicure. I got both forearm and hand massages and on my legs and feet I received hot stone massage. Both are very enjoyable and I think I'll go back just for that. I love The way my toenails look. I do not love the way my fingernails look. My toenails I got all one color and my fingernails I had just the tips painted. That went well, I think the issue came in with the clearcoat polish. There were several bubbles in the polish so my fingernails look less professional. For both my manicure and pedicure, the total cost was $39. It's very affordable and I was not expecting it to be that cheap. read more

Vin and her husband are absolutely wonderful. Vin always squeezes me in even when she is busy, and pampers me so. She has healing hands and I always feel so relaxed as she provides the massage that comes with the pedicure. Plus, the pedicure always looks lovely! I have seen many elderly clients coming through, and it is apparent how much those clients adore them. Vin's husband had walked an elderly client out, holding her bag and her hand to help steady her. This place is super close to my apartment and I've been twice now. I am not an expert on manis and I only recently started getting manicures and pedicures semi regularly. This place is like a mom and pop shop. They are super sweet and have a few regulars that come pretty often. I got a gel mani and regular pedi. It was pretty inexpensive and made for a great value. I do wish they did a better job shaping my nails but overall they did a great job. I wanted to do multiple colors and they were super nice about it, helping me find each one. If I could give 0 stars I would... I went to this place for the first time yesterday. I usually do an acrylic lay over on my natural nails but one of them broke. I had an event to go to and needed a quick fix and this was the closest salon to me. I noticed I wasn't going to be satisfied as soon as Amy started filing my nails. She was in a rush and was super abrupt, pulling my fingers and all. Then when she began the filling I told her that I like the acrylic layer to be super thin, it's just so my nail don't break. When she was done with one hand the acrylic was so thick and lumpy it looked like I had just dipped my nails in acrylic. I told her it wasn't at all what I wanted and she tried to fix it again but didn't make any difference. I decided to leave and fix my nails at home and had to pay for half of the service. I think Amy is awesome, and her husband is really kind. Amy always do my gel pedicure absolutely perfect! No complaints there. The reason for the two stars is her husband usually do my gel manicure and after my third bad experience, it'll be my last. He's great at the massage, but my nail itself looks terrible. There's bubbles on every finger, and the gel looks lumpy. The time before that the gel actually was peeling off! I'll continue to go for the pedicure but I have to go elsewhere unfortunately for my gel manicure. I feel bad about this review but I have to be honest. read more

But this guy knew how to put customers in pain. I just pretty much tried my best to bare with the pain but once he got to my last finger I had to pull back.. my Pinky was burning up like someone was putting a lighter on it and cooking it... I have never felt a pain like this ever in my life.. To make it short.. He sucks... I will never be coming back to this place... Sweet little shop. I called around 10am to see if they had any appointments for today - got one for 2pm. As I came in there was a guy finishing up his pedicure. I sat down and chose a shellac - this process could have been easier. There is a box full of them and you reach in to see what every color is (because the color is only visible from the side), it would be nice if they were displayed better. Alas, I chose a color and my nails began to soak. There was a little discussion about shape and length as she cut my cuticles. The color was a little lighter and more opaque than I had wanted but was assured it would be solid color when all the layers were on. After coat two she looked at them and decided to put on one more light layer. The color looks great and turned out solid. The top coat went on and after curing I had a really long strong arm/hand massage. It tooks about 45 min and I love the results. All for $26. Cash is preferred but credit (with 2$ up charge is available too). read more

I am seriousssssssssssly extremely picky with how I like my nails. I have never received a full set that I've ever been happy with...until I've been here. My sister in law raves about this place and I joined her for a mani-pedi a few months ago. Their full sets last forever and the quality is great. Seriously, this nail salon is indeed a hole in the wall and is in no way, shape or form a fancy salon. When you walk in, there are about four tables (if i recall correctly) and no spa chairs for pedicures. Instead, you get a foot soak. THAT was extremely disappointing for me, but OH MY GOD did Amy compensate for that with her foot/leg massaging. Her husband (I forgot his name) did my full set and it was amazing. It was priced a bit higher than what I'm usually used to paying and it took me by surprise considering the quality of the salon, but I feel like it was well worth it. Tim Hardaway on the basketball court, a signed head shot of Tim Hardaway, and best of all, a shot of Tim Hardaway having his nails done. This was the most absurdly thorough and lengthy mani-pedi I've ever had. For competetive prices, they provide a very long and relaxing massage-filled service. AND, you get a free foot soak in some parrafin (OK, clearly that's spelled incorrectly). I was there for an hour and a half. I kid you not. I have been coming to Nail Boutique for almost 14 years now. If that doesn't tell you how wonderful they are with the job they do and the service they provide, I don't know what will. I live in Antioch and work in San Francisco, so I go there on my way home. Amy always does her best to fit me in when I call. Over the years, I have moved out of Alameda and tried places that were closer to my home and every time I swear I wished I had come back to Amy and Vin. I learned my lession and will not go anywhere else. My nails can go about a month without a fill and I can go at least a month and a half between pedicures. As a non resident I wanted to find a great place to get a manicure. Last visit I just chose a place close to my hotel on Webster. It was ok, but I wanted a beter experience. So I used yelp this time. The Nail Boutique on Central Ave. had 4 stars and was not too far to walk from the hotel. Even though I didn't make an appointment they took me right in. I will make an appointment next time to assure a short wait in case they are busy. I happend to walk in at a time they were not busy and they were very hospitable and friendly.
