She is meticulous and through (an hour of my hands!) and as a result, my manicure lasts for 4 weeks+ without the gel popping up and chipping. And most importantly all the ladies are so nice. I have been coming here for the last several years and I couldn't recommend them enough! Their service is great and they are almost always available for same day appointments as long as you call ahead. I don't think I have ever done a walk-in because they are usually always busy. I used to come here for both manicures and pedicures though I now only get pedicures here because they don't do builder gel for my manicure. Their color options are plentiful both regular and gel polish. Parking is always available and there are good restaurants nearby if you want to grab a bite to eat before or after your appointment! Came in fairly late on a Friday. They were kinda full and was told to wait 10 minutes, I ended up waiting close to 15 mins but when I was finally seen they didn't rush my French Tip gel at all. Now that I've moved to Oakland, I needed to find a new go-to place for mani pedis and this place may be that spot! I used to go to Versailles Nail Spa in Berkeley but it's now too much effort to go there since I don't live there anymore. The ladies here are professional, fast, and it's very affordable. I bring my own nail polish here and the ladies are happy to help apply my polish instead. TMI, but I had also come here after a long hiking/outdoor trip (which if you know, means dirt has gotten under nail beds or toe nail beds) and the ladies here were so meticulous in cleaning it all up (I told them that that was a priority for me and they definitely nailed the job). Came back after three weeks. Made an appointment @2:15pm, wasn't seen until 2:25pm. Nail tech didn't apologize or anything for the wait which is forgivable I guess. I opted for acrylic removals and gel mani since I was tired of fake nails and only 8 of my 10 nails had the acrylics completely removed, lol. Not quite sure as to why that was--perhaps the nail tech was worried about breaking the two considering how she broke my thumb nail as she was removing the acrylic (she did offer to fix it with acrylic powder so props to her for that). The gel mani i got this time was unsatisfactory--the nail shapes were uneven and the gel was so far from my cuticles it looked like it had been a few days post mani, not fresh. The gel mani was $37 (would be 35 if i paid with cash) and the removal was $5. Prob going to a diff place next time. read more

When getting my nails done, I usually expect my nails to chip and pull away from the nail within a week maybe 2 if I'm lucky. I work a lot with my hands so I don't hold high expectations HOWEVER, all my nails still have polish and the only bits missing are stuff I pull because of a nervous tik. Meh... this is my friend's go-to nail place. I opted for just a gel pedicure. The lady was fast and efficient but not very talkative compared to my girlfriend's techs. I had to make appointment idk that they're accepting walk ins during covid. they always answer the phone I called on a saturday and came on a monday. they are all vaccinated and follow cdc safety precautions. I came a few days ago for a gel manicure and after I told them of my negative experience with acrylics at another salon (I know! i cheated) and I was convinced into getting a new set. normally I only see Nam(tanya) because she always takes care of me but she doesn't do acrylics and I believe right now they only have one tech doing them and her name is sivatha she did an amazing job very meticulous. she made sure to cut my cuticles and not leave any glue behind and I was surprised by how thin and natural my nails came out. So my first 2 experiences here weren't that great. I tried to get a gel manicure but my nails were filed down too much because they also added tips. Took a long time to recover and I was nervous to go back. However, I live right around the corner and wanted to give it another try. I just got a manicure this time and had such a better experience. The woman was so careful with my nails and did a beautiful paint job! She didn't mind when I wanted to add additional color on top and I was so pleased when I left. Last time I checked it was NATURAL. Well trained staff: *LAN is amazing for my ingrowns, she will dig out all the dead skin and any nail embedded underneath the skin, she's aggressive, but has technique. Definitely make sure you let the staff know your preferences. They need a bit of guidance, but once you tell them, it's great. Improvements: Better colors and products in general, it's pretty sparse here. They really cram in their appointments, so if you have one, you may still have to wait, but they will call you if you don't want to wait like me, I prefer to stroll. No AC and some flies buzz around. Unfortunately I was left with very rough heels and dry skin, my feet aren't even bad and very easy to scrub smooth. She maybe worked on them for 1 min. The massage and scrubbing of feet was very minimal. She spent the most time prepping my nails for gel polish. The best part is that the nails were painted to perfection, not a stray piece of polish in sight. I am torn since it was a good price, but I was left with feet that aren't smooth or soft. If they didn't have such a nice selection of gel colors and didn't paint my toes perfectly they would have gotten 2 stars.
