Luckily, Kathy was super understanding and friendly, she took her time with the service and checked in frequently during the pedicure. There is air flowing in through the security gate on the front door to decrease the concentration of nail fumes. The staff are friendly and almost always smiling. They always have the color of polish I am looking for. Sadly, I was not as impressed with the waxing services. My waxer was not very friendly, for starters. But she also ripped the wax off, using only one hand. Without using her non-dominant hand to create tension, this resulted in a very large, unseemly bruise on my upper inner thigh. In addition to being unsightly, it was very painful when she ripped off the wax the first time, when she created the bruise, but even more painful when she went over the area a second time. I will continue to be a faithful patron of their nail services. But I will definitely get my waxing done elsewhere.

Right in the heart of Downtown, these ladies know how to run business here in Oakland and make you feel safe. The experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional from start to finish. In the middle of my service, the nail technician completely stopped working on my nails to begin another customer's set because that customer stated she was in a hurry and no longer wanted to wait. As a paying client with a scheduled appointment, I found that incredibly disrespectful and unacceptable. After returning to my service, the technician rushed through the remainder of my nails. In the process, she nicked my cuticle, causing pain and discomfort. The final result was poor quality: my nails were uneven, some were noticeably thicker than others, and the acrylic application was lumpy and inconsistent. Overall, the service, professionalism, and quality did not meet basic expectations. Spending nearly three hours for rushed, careless work especially on my birthday completely ruined the experience. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this salon to others.
