I enjoy great conversation with her and I come out with gorgeous nails that last up to 4 weeks!!! You read it right. Ask her about her favorite Banh Mi place and you will die happy :-) And apart from being so rad as a person, she is an amazing artist. My gel manicures usually hold up for three weeks, which is amazing! Even after a ton of wear and tear from moving things, and a little lax cuticle care on my part, my nails look awesome. I cannot believe tip wear is essentially non existent. Long overdue review. I had been wanting to try out this nail salon because they use Japanese gel! It's a lot different than the gel you get at most nail shops around. Japanese gel last a very long time with no chips! I really wanted a coffin shape, but that's not what I got. I actually got all sorts of different shapes. No consistency sadly. Another thing that bothered me was that none of my nails were even. Some were taller some were shorter. Ohmmar is a nice nail tech. She's very friendly and her painting techniques are good, but I think she needs to work on her shaping skills. Months later I grew my own nails out and decided to shape them myself. It came out much better. So I was a little disappointed especially since this place isn't cheap! I probably won't be back given cost and personal experience. I did like that she was super hospitable. My boyfriend and I were going on vacation so I decided to get a manicure and pedicure at the last minute. It was my boyfriends 40th birthday and I wanted to look nice head to toe. It was late and other salon was opened except for this one tucked away so I decided to stop in. The technician who was there was very friendly and welcoming. I told her the serviced I wanted and she asked me to pick out my colors. Originally, I wanted light green polish for my toes but when she painted one toe, I didn't like the color so she was accommodating enough to let me change it to a different color. Ended up purple for my toes and I went with pink gel polish for my nails. The technician understood my weirdness with people touching my toes and how ticklish I was when people scrubbed my feet. This is why I hardly ever get a pedicure. She was very gentle when she did my nails, which was fantastic because I hate when technician are rough. First off, Ohnnmar is so sweet, kind, gentle, and educated. She educated me on so much!! She told me how many nail salons are using illegal supples for acrylic nails and such nowadays 2nd, wow!! the pedicure was amazing and manicure too! My skin has never been so soft/well taken care of! I was literally dozing off, I felt bad because I was probably such a boring client lol! The scrub was amazing! 3rd, I had on acrylics, so I was there for legit 5 hours. Her process was SOOO gentle & tbh well worth it, but I'd probably get mine taken off elsewhere bc I don't have many days to just relax in the salon! She took her time with my Japanese gel pedi and mani, which I appreciated and showed because my nails were amazing and felt healthy! After maybe 2 weeks, washing my hands like crazy, working, etc, my nails still look fresh!! Although my nails have grown, the nails/design has stayed durable and shiny still. I then went to the website and discovered that she is booked TWO MONTHS OUT!! So, I decided to go ahead and book for two months away. This will not be a short, in-and-out nail appointment. Ohnnmar is amazingly meticulous, and takes the time to make your nails perfect. I get so many compliments on my nails ALL the time and always recommend her. She is also the only person I can find that who knows what she's doing in terms of gel overlays. Typically a salon will have only 3-4 colors of pink, and glops it on. Or they want to do acrylic. Street parking can be tough but there is a garage up the hill that always has options. Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Ohnnmar and Gel O Nails! I had my first appointment, for japanese gel fingernail polish, a week ago and came back today for a pedicure. I think I have officially had my life's best ever manicure and best ever pedicure and both were with Ohnnmar. The manicure looks fantastic after a week and I expect that it will last for another week or two. The pedicure included a homemade green tea and brown sugar scrub (she had a choice for me of this one, a coffee scrub, or an aloe scrub), wonderful nail care, and perfect nail polish. Disposable emory boards, callous scrubbers, and nail buffs are used and, for pedicures, you can expect a big metal tub rather than a "spa chair" if you are concerned about cleanliness of spa chairs. Ohnnmar is so kind, warm, and professional. It is a pleasure to see her. I will be back! read more
