5 starts because they are open on a Sunday and we're able to accommodate me in 10 min as a walking My white toe polish lasted for more than 3 weeks and didn't fade on the 3rd week it chipped but wasn't bad. My pedi still looks fresh. read more

I came to this place because a friend recommended and it was amazing. I got a pedicure with Nancy and she cleaned my toes up!! I mean she went on the side and clipped off all the dead skin. It was refreshing to finally have someone who is not afraid to dig and clean up cuticle. The place is straight forward, chairs lined up for work. I loved it and I will be coming back here for pedicure! read more

My favorite local nail place. They do a great job, have a great variety of colors, and the same people have worked there for years. I especially love it on slower days when they all get together towards the back of the space to chat and to share snacks and have a rest. read more

Oh, how I LOVE Finger Paint! I've been a happy client of this nail salon for over 10 years. I've never been disappointed. Last week, I made a horrible error. Finger Paint was super busy and I desperately needed to get my nails done. I went to some random shop. BAD IDEA. Long story, short, I've been horrified for over a week, looking down at the travesty that shop left of my nails. Came in today, and Ms. Kim got me all the way together. She took her time and shaped to perfection. I was so happy with how gentle she was with my nails and her tools. So refreshing. My nails are gorgeous! Thank you, Finger Paint. My go to nail salon in the neighborhood. The owner, Loi, and Vicky are very detailed oriented and attentive. Great selection of colors available. The salon is clean and following covid precautions. They scan temperatures and provide sanitizer upon arrival for all guests. My gel manicures and pedicures last over 2 weeks. I always leave feeling relaxed and never rushed. OMG, one of the best manicures I've ever had! 10 days ago, I dropped in on an impulse for a regular manicure. It was lovely. In the interim, I've done housework, unpacked moving boxes and *assembled furniture.* It's just now beginning to look a bit worn around the edges. A regular manicure! The owner and her employees talked about my friend and I the entire time during our mani/pedi. Didn't realize my friend was Vietnamese and understood their insults about us. Was a loyal customer for years, but not anymore. They talked about our appearance and even said the $10 tip wasn't enough. Wow. Really horrible experience. Not going back, ever. Parking is horrible and the gel creases after a week. Yikes. read more

Great experience here! Came in right at opening and they were already busy. They squeezed me in for a gel manicure- very efficient, friendly staff. Many of them took the time to say hi and ask how I was doing. Linda did an awesome job! Super pleased with my manicure. Relaxing, pain-free, and well done. Plus, $25 for a gel, prices are great! I've been coming to Finger Paint since they opened so many, many years. Even though I just get a basic mani/pedi I'm super picky and have never been disappointed by Finger Paint and all the great nail techs. They are pros and my nails always look fabulous. I can never go as often as I like but whenever I do get to go I always tell Vicky and the crew that Finger Paint is truly one of my most favorite places to be. For the time that I'm there it really feels like a mini relaxing escape. I've been to one or two other places over the past years when I was out of town and it's so irritating when you spend the time and money to get your nails done and it looks like they were done by a 5 year old. I have NEVER gotten anything less than amazing at Finger Paint! And the ladies are just lovely. My last time in, I totally picked the wrong color (I know now that I am 100% NOT a hot pink nail polish person) and I sheepishly went back an hour later for a polish change. I felt like such a dope, but Vicky just laughed and said, No problem! Love this place, everyone who works there and their amazing skills. I love this salon! I'm a fan from Femimacus and if I ever come in the afternoon when Femimacus is busy, I always hit Finger Paint up. The only complaint I have are the facial expressions that both the owners, Loi and Vicky have. They are never smiling! They always look like they are stressed, they make ME feel stressed GAH!! But it's ok, not everyone can be happy 100%, I just think, they should reflect positive attitudes towards their customers. But I like how they try to form conversations to make up it. Overall My Review: 4/5 Cleanliness, sometimes there are flies in the waiting portion. Very dissatisfied! I called and made an appointment they only have two technicians that do acrylic nails... I asked them for the appointment and also asked them if they had a specific type of tip. They said they did. I came in through terrible Oakland traffic to get there on time. When I got there they said the technician had left and I had called prior to just make sure she would be there! They were extremely rude!!! Especially Loi!! I would not recommend this nail spot... I have also had previous experiences with this nail shop... Completely horrible experience! Loi is extremely rude for no reason at all... He needs some training on customer service for sure! I would not even rate them one star! This is super unfortunate I am a neighbor been in the area right down on Park Avenue for over 20 years. I was extremely shocked at how awful they treated me! And then someone else to come through the door and they would be completely different to them... I always come on time... I am not a complainer! I always tip! There's absolutely no reason these people who run finger paint should act this way! Worst nail shop experience I've had!!!!!!! read more

This is my best-kept Oakland secret. I've been here dozens of times over the years and experienced every single manicurist. I have never had a SINGLE mani/pedi that wasn't absolutely beautiful. I never feel worried about whether my nails will be taken care of here - I just float away into relaxation, let them do their work and walk out feeling pretty. So you don't need to stress when you come here. Also I visited recently and their COVID protocols are very thorough with masks, ventilation and partitions. They carry the full OPI line too. They are hygienic and gentle with the tools. The women who work here are incredible, detailed and just so kind. Tip them generously as they are are working moms! read more

I have been coming to Finger Paint from Pittsburg for many years. They have great customer service, prices and options. They carry my favorite brand of polish OPI. I've brought my family members here as well as relatives from out of town. I work in SF so don't mind coming all the way here for a great experience. I can also get my eyebrows done. 3 of my nails has came off in just a week.I got a full set that were gel & payed $50 which is extremely expensive for some nails that I was dissatisfied for. It was a young lady that was working on my nails that is usually a person that works on feet.The man Loi has to keep telling her what to use to do my nails.I wanted skinny square nails and she kept doing coffin but I just let her continued.My pinky nail was super smaller than my other nails and my left hand middle finger (which is the one with no nail on it ) had been shorter than my right hand middle finger. The young lady could tell I fed up with her doing my nails by my facial expressions so an older lady had came and started to do my nails for 3 minutes.After that Loi had came over and fixed them.My nails had lumps after they had put the white nail polish on it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE.You will spend your money on the LOCATION instead of the work they are doing for your nails.Such a waste of money & theydont give you a discount if you don't like them.Super bad service. read more

I went here to get a pedicure and get my eyebrows done. I asked the aesthetician to tweeze my brows vs. use wax as wax causes my skin to welt up. She said she couldn't do it. I'm sorry. If you won't accommodate BASIC requests, I can't patronize your establishment. I decided to give another shop my money. I vote with my money, so sorry finger paint. DO NOT LET THEM MAN DO YOUR NAILS. He's extremely rough and should not be allowed to do nails. I asked them to stop because my cuticles started bleeding. ***Please note this review is for the man only. It began okay, but quickly turned sour. The man had his drill at full speed and after telling him multiple times to be gentle he said he wanted to be done in 20 minutes. You can tell they use the cheapest materials and they refill brand name bottles with cheap stuff. He was speaking a different language and talking about me to his colleagues. I absolutely HATE that. They charged me an extra $2, why? All they could tell me is because it says &up next to price. As you can see in my photo my nail is obviously crooked, and sloppy. The nails are not all filed to same shape and one is growing sideways. Will not be returning. If you're looking for an expensive but cheap, quick, place this might be for you. read more

Love love LOVE this place. I've been going here for a really long time now & I love their work & how they treat their customers. Sometimes it tends to get really busy, so at times you may have to wait if you didn't schedule an appointment & you walked in. They use plastic bags in the bowl to protect from any germs and they dispose it right after their done with their client. I have not had a bad experience with them as long as I've been with them. Check them out if you're looking to have a nice pedi and mani. read more

When I pointed out that the polish was on my skin and the nail not clipped right she actually blamed me for the problem. There were other items that I noticed but allowed to pass. I think there were only four pedicure stations and five nail stations in total. I really like the selection of colors and styles but just wanted to do a simple regular pedicure and gel manicure for this visit. My only question was pricing. It's not clear how much each service is and I didn't see a pricing list in store. There's a 10% discount for first-time visitors but somehow I still paid the same as another customer who got a gel mani/pedi when I only did a gel mani. I didn't bother questioning the beauty technician because she did a really good job and gave me the 10% discount. Would go back again (and just pay more attention to the pricing)!

They do not do acrylics, but I got a full set of gel X for $60. They also gave me free Vietnamese coffee. Everyone was friendly, accommodating and quick. My nails feel strong, professional, and well done. First visit. But so far so good.
