I've been here twice for a pedicure and left pretty disappointed. I had a different technician each time. And both times, i didn't get an even, clean application on my nails. The edges were sloppy and the coats weren't applied evenly. Additonally, this last visit, my friend and i were literally rushed out! We were sitting for about 10 minutes after they finished with the top coat waiting for our nails to dry. A few customers came in and the owner(?), without a word, put our shoes on for us and brought customers to our seat... implying we get out. We paid and left. There was no apology or explanation. There was a whole section of seats across from us that was empty and ready for use.. I am honestly shocked by the service we recieved and the low quality work. I will not be coming back. read more

I was going for a while and loved it. One day I got acrylics and then next day my nail was infected. It was so bad I went back in to have them take the nail off. The denied it was caused by them. Then I went back because o ended up in emergency. They had to remove my nail due to infection. I told them and went back. They said I need to give my nails a rest and I should have kept the acrylics off but yet when I went it hey put them on after I asked about that exact thing. I won't go back due to infection. I wish so desperately that I could remember the names of my nail techs because they were exceptional! My kiddos wanted nails to ease the pain of their flu shots and I abided. The space is beautiful; clean and relaxing-it's giving art gallery spa. We were seen right away and my 6 and 9 year olds were treated with so much care as they requested their tiny designs (Beetle Juice and Frankenstein respectively). They gently encouraged me to do mine (twist my arm!) and I obliged. I asked for gelx but the woman did acrylic and I'm so glad she did because it was so much better! The shape and feel were SO much better and the woman informed me I can get a fill without having to replace the whole set. My unplanned acrylic chrome set understandable took way longer than my kiddos and the very kind staff helped them find comfy seating and even offered to help them order food next door when they were hungry! We are SO happy with our nails and will absolutely be returning (hopefully not just as injection remedies). read more

I love New Angel. I've been going for many years, pre pandemic and after. Now I take my daughter (5) and they're so sweet with her. They give her prefigured and manicures with little designs and she loves it. They also just did a remodel with all new chairs-- they're so proud! They did a great job. Very thorough. The place is bright and clean and the staff were both friendly and accommodating. I was a walk-in on a beautiful Tuesday and there was a bit of a wait, although they told me to sit. Seemingly, they also may have overbooked reservations, while taking in walk-ins, as a few customers came in for reservations and all staff was busy. So there's that. But, again, service was top notch. The leg massage was great, and they did a great job on the cuticles and paint. I went with a powder manicure, and while it took longer than anticipated as the manicurist was on her phone a bit (but she did share her 16 year old son was not at home like he was supposed to be and she was worried), she did a great job. I had to leave right after she finished, so I'm not sure if they do the post manicure hand/arm massage, but if they do, that would have made this even better. Overall, I found the price reasonable for the attention to detail and service. I'd 100% come again if in the neighborhood. read more

The ladies at New Angel Nails are incredible. Manicurists work SO hard and for super long hours at that. The prices here alone are unbeatable. $42 for manicure and pedicure and if you want gel nails for your fingers it's $55. When I walked in, two people immediately began taking care of me. Mai was doing my pedicure and she truly spent almost as long massaging my feet as the other woman did doing my gel nails. Also, the pedicures naturally come with sugar scrub without addition surcharge. The woman doing my gel manicure asked me how many coats I'd like, 3 or 4?! Usually people do 2 at best. Attention guys!! I saw another review on here about tipping the employees, and wanted to write one regarding the issue also. About a month ago, I visited this salon for a pedicure. As usual, I spoke English, so no one noticed I understand Vietnamese. I overheard the owner/manager telling her staff that Zelle charges a fee, and if customers tip via Zelle, she would deduct a percentage from the tip. I have NEVER heard of Zelle charging a fee, especially for a small amount like tips. I found this incredibly infuriating because the owner is pocketing money from the employees hard-earned tips. Please make sure to tip the employee directly, either with cash or through their personal Zelle/Venmo, and avoiding tipping through the cashier/owner. I was not going to write a bad review for the salon because it affects the business thus the employees and I actually like my pedicure, but if it is happening more than once, it needs to change! read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for 4 years but I will not be returning unfortunately. The last time I got tips put on, and entire hand was crooked. I went to a different salon and they showed me how poorly the tips were constructed onto my fingernails. Terrible pedicure. Didn't cut nails short as I asked, didn't push back cuticle. Absolutely didn't trim dead skin from toes, no callous reduction despite the few swipes with the callous remover. She didn't paint my toenails all the way to the untrimmed cuticle, and was rude on top of everything. I asked the tech to remove 2 ingrown nails and she insisted she did, but when I left and walked, the pain was still there and I had to do it myself at home, which is awkward due to the angle. Never will return. Worst pedicure and with attitude. Why I tipped (very well) I do not know. read more

Update: Trang is a gel-x nails wizard. Go to her! She will hook you up. I have been going to nail salons and getting my nails done for 20+ years. During COVID I started doing my own and I do other peoples nails now. I came here to relax and called on a whim asking if they do Gelx. They use actual Gelx products not some knockoff. . They have chrome etc etc that all the hard to get into nail techs have. Super important: this place is CLEAN. I have seen it all. It is very very clean. Recommend you wear a mask to be respectful and avoid fumes. They will find your color if you ask. Just ask. I write my colors down and they found it no problem. They even offered to order me one that we couldn't find. I came for basic color and a little glitter. I am old school and like square nails. Trang took her time, was meticulous - she is a gem!!! Go to her. Not only is the work impeccable, these women are so kind. A strawberry vendor came in and they bought 1 carton and shared it with everyone, me included. Will be back again to relax and enjoy the great work of Trang. Get a deluxe pedicure they pull out all the stops: essential oil bubbly soap mix, scrub, double massage, paraffin wax for your feet, hot towels, etc. The works! Honestly, I liked this place but after calling to make an appointment, showing up on time, and then being told they don't have any space was completely unprofessional. It is the 4th of July but I called in advance to see if they were open and they told me they could do acrylic. I walked in and then they told me I must have been confused with another place but when I read out the number the only thing they could say was a mere "sorry.. we can't do it." This has been my go-to nail spot for over 6 months now. I typically go to a standard gel manicure and standard pedicure every 3 weeks. I've gone during the week after work, in the middle of the day, and sometimes on the weekends. Regardless of time or day, the service is consistent as well as the cleanliness. The prices are fair for the area. Street parking is fairly easy to come by even though it's right off Piedmont which tends to be very busy. I am always served efficiently and regardless of the tech, I get exactly what I want in a timely manner. The selection for colors is outstanding. The staff is accommodating and pleasant. I don't get designs so I can't comment on that but my nails always last a long time without lifting. This is a major plus considering I'm in healthcare and washing my hands multiple times per day. Cash is preferred for tips though a card is accepted for payment. read more

Nails don't last, sadly. $45 Gel nails began to crack at the tips on 6 fingers only 2 days after getting them. I went back to get them fixed on day 3 and they only filed the top layer and painted over the cracks. A day after that, my nails started cracking again and now completely chipping off only 4 days after getting the whole set done originally. read more

Was able to get in last minute for 3 pedicures on a Saturday afternoon. Glad they could accommodate us! In the heart of busy Piedmont it was tough to find street parking but if you go further and away from Kaiser we found a spot. The spa chairs were lovely and when we walked in got seated but since they were so busy a few of us waited a bit. It was fine tho since we weren't in a hurry and we came last minute. Huge selection of gel colors! $42 for gel pedi and you can pay by card. Cash is preferred for tips. Lots of shops and eateries to check out after. read more

I called around noon on the 4th of July to see if they were open. To my surprise, they were fortunately in fact open. I needed a gel mani-pedi. Apparently they were very busy and had a few open slots that day so I made an appointment for 3pm. It was definitely busy and they did have to turn away a few walk ins. If you need your nails done on a holiday, def call to make an appointment, otherwise you might not get in. My nails were done well and I had a pleasant experience overall. Pedicure service is awful. They don't push back or cut your cuticles. The "tech" used the rounded end of a pointed nail filed to scrape at my nails. I asked for a pale pink color and got layers of white polish with the last coat being the pink I asked for. It hasn't been a week later and it's chipping. I wouldn't bother coming here. I was very excited to try this place out and find my go-to nail salon in the area. I had a pleasant experience with the nail techs but left with a negative feeling because I think I was up-charged. Over the phone, I was initially quoted $55 for gel mani + reg pedi. I ended up getting chrome gel mani + reg pedi and the lady rang me up for $80 telling me that it's extra for chrome. Sadly I wouldn't recommend this spot. I'm giving stars because it may have just been a bad day there when I went, so please take my review with a grain of salt as it is from a one time visit. I asked for gels on my nails and was offered a matching color for my toenails for which I was getting a basic pedi. I accepted of course. The color match was WRONG (see photo) They did my toes first so once the gel was happening it was too late to change it. My pedicure was ROUGH. I have gotten many pedicures and the person doing mine actually hurt me. She was using the cuticle cutters very aggressively and it caused me to grimace as it really was hurting and way too rough. The nail polish was OLD and I saw her adding a LOT of acetone to thin it out but the result still looked awful on my nails- she added MANY layers and it took forever to dry and looked like a child did it- I had to go home and clean the polish off of my skin myself. (Picture taken after) Gel nails- I asked the gel worker to not take off any length of my nails.I had been growing my nails out and only got gels because I was finally happy with the length. As I was relaxing with the massager (after pedicure was over) she said she would just shape the nails, but lo and behold she took off a lot of length! With the filer! I would never had gotten the gel if my nails were this short. And three days later two nails already cracked in the polish- and that's with me wearing gloves to do dishes and clean! This experience which was supposed to be self care really bummed me out. I don't usually write reviews like this but i wanted to go prevent someone else having an experience like this. But who knows, maybe it was just a bad day and on other days they are better? Still Would not return. UPDATE: one week after gel mani. I had to move it from 3 stars to 1. Not the best place but decent enough for basic mani/pedi I got a full set about a month ago and it come out perfect, can't remember the woman's name who did mine. Pedicures are basic, even with the deluxe. They hardly massage. I just got a fill the other day and the woman put such a thick coating of the powder and had to redo my nails twice and still came out mediocre/unfinished. Some nails didn't have the top coat added and the color looks unfinished and uneven. I was too frustrated to have her redo my nails and I didn't have the time either. My nails came out cute but the quality is not great. Probably won't be coming here again, unfortunately read more
