Tulip Nails is my go to in Alameda for my Mani's! All the staff are welcoming, but Timmy is the reason I've gone back a couple times now - his process is thorough and he's so soft handed! I wish I got a picture when he did square before these sets below were done, but he does the square shape perfect too. This is my first time doing fun designs instead of nudes or pinks, so I'm happy that Timmy is kind to work with and talented to do these sets for me. The salon overall is relaxing and there's fresh juice for sale in the back! Cindy/ Sandy(?) was very gentle and thorough with my pedicure. Received all of attention that my feet needed. I appreciated the warm towel compress and massage chair. Monthly pedicure time! Yvonne did my Pedi and like everyone else at the shop, she is very thorough but I also like the way she massages my legs. She has a firm touch that I like. Stopped by Tulip Nails last minute after my regular salon was booked, and was pleasantly surprised with how my gel manicure and pedicure turned out. The salon was small and clean. Colors were limited. They didn't have my usual OPI Alpine Snow, so I went with OPI Gelato On My Mind. Both technicians were efficient and detail oriented. Appreciated that they limited the small talk, because l just wanted to relax on my day off. $60 for gel manicure and regular pedicure. Per the signs posted throughout the salon, there is a $3-5 COVID fee added. Overall, solid salon that got the job done, will be back if my regular salon on the island is too busy. read more

Appointments were easy to schedule and the ladies that work here were nice and on time. Initially had two different designs in mind but the nail artist was not able to do it. Default to a gel nails with gems thinking what can go wrong. The nails started to crack and show lines where the diamond was gel/glue on few hours after the Thursday evening appointment. The lines are visibly worse with time but the nails with just the gel polish were fine. I am pretty convinced it's due to extra nail cures to secure the added gems. read more

Sadly this was a terrible service experience. The pedicurist dug into my big toe so hard that it bled. It is now swollen and painful. Then after my toes were painted and I had sat, the pedicurist said they were dry. She tried to put my sandals on and they dragged the paint on my big toe off, ruining the paint. I was polite and paid/tipped anyway, people make mistakes. I came back today-- next day-- and asked her to simply repaint the toenail. She asked me to pick the polish and then left me standing without speaking to me, in the front of the store for 20 minutes. Another customer came in after me and was seated in a chair, and had their service begin while I was still standing there-- with my two kids-- just trying to get my toenail repainted. I politely offered to come back at a better time, and asked what would work better for them. They still ignored this request and left me standing there, and motioned to a chair. My kids were hungry, there was no sign they were at all interested in politeness or customer service. In addition, my toe (pictures) is swollen and throbbing. What a disaster. Causing an injury then ruining a paint job, and then failing to rectify it in what would have been pretty easy and painless. Very unprofessional. I want my $32 dollars back. read more
