Back in the day when I was regularly getting my nails done, the only option I had for extensions was acrylic. Now I'm getting back into it, and there are so many options! The nail techs consulted with me and explained to me the multitude of options. -Acrylic is the hardest and best if you work your hands -GelX is for when you add extensions to natural nails -Builder Gel is harder than gel and is for natural nails. -Gel a little harder than normal polish and also for natural nails The first time I went I got gel with Cateye. So cute. The set could have lasted me another week or two as there was no lifting. But, my nail cracked from the side. So I went a second time. This time I got builder gel. I could feel the difference in hardness. I have found that all the techs at NailEnvy are very meticulous and detailed with their work. The massages they give with their services is the perfect strength to relax your muscles. The designs they create on your nails are commensurate with the price you pay. Because they are creative and detailed, the designs are unique and awesome. They are so legit! The cost is comparable to other salons, not overpriced and competitive. As for cleanliness, their utensils and nail stations are clean. Making an appointment is super easy as they have a website where you can schedule at your convenience. If you want a specific nail tech, you need to call and make an appointment over the phone. But all of them are exceptional. The major distinction of this nail salon is the techs themselves. They are so happy and nice. It's a salon where I have a hard time leaving because the atmosphere is so friendly. I love looking at the designs they apply as they are all unique and astonishing. I highly recommend Envy Nails. They get a 5 star rating from me

I was so excited to try this salon out after seeing all the fantastic nail art photos. Unfortunately my experience left me disappointed. 2 stars because the French tip looks great, I like the color I chose and the nail application is solid. My manicurist cut the top of my toe while filing, and the subsequent application of alcohol and other things really freaking stung. I felt bad because accidents absolutely happen but yikes. Asking to have my nails cut down to the actual length I wanted felt like an annoyance to my other manicurist, so they're a bit too long. Color is pretty though! Overall, the cuticle clean up, massage, all the thorns that make up the actual manicure were lackluster. I wish I had a better experience.

This was my first time visiting this salon because I wanted to find a place closer to home. Overall, I had a great experience. They did a nice job, and I was impressed that both my manicure and pedicure were finished in about an hour and 15 minutes. My only complaint is the price. I usually pay around $100 for the same services, but this visit cost $140 before tip for Gel x nails and a pedicure. While the service was efficient and the quality was good, it was definitely more expensive than what I'm used to paying.

They're all so sweet and really good at precision first time on the French which is so rareee. They all do designs so you don't have to wait for one specific person because everyone is so talented. On their instagram they have a variety of different styles with good prices for the quality they give you. Their massage chairs are a bonus plus their space is super clean and modern and I see how intentional they are about their work too! I can't wait for my next set!!

I originally met Linh when she was new at a nail salon in Alameda. I was trying out a new shop and ended up in her chair. From the beginning she was very polite and attentive. I explained that my natural nails are thin and sensitive, and that I don't like aggressive drilling. She listened, was gentle, and took her time with the design I wanted. The appointment actually took over two hours, but I gave her grace because she mentioned she was still new and I appreciated how thorough she was. I tipped her well and from that point on I became a loyal client who only booked with her. Eventually she left that salon and moved to Envy, explaining that she hadn't been treated well at the previous location. I continued following her because when I find a nail tech I like, I stay loyal. I've never been someone who complains about paying for quality work, and I've also referred clients to her, including people with large social media followings. Unfortunately, since moving salons, the experience hasn't been the same. Her communication and attention to what the client actually asks for has changed. She tends to do more of what she prefers rather than what's requested. I've also noticed the quality of her square acrylic sets has declined, she relies heavily on the drill instead of clipping and filing, which sometimes gives the nails a "duck" shape rather than a clean square. Another issue is the pricing. Every appointment seems to come with a different price, even for similar sets. The prices are high and inconsistent. For example, she recently quoted my daughter $115 for a short full set with chrome, while the salon website states that full sets start at $65. That kind of jump feels unreasonable, especially when there's no clear breakdown of why. When I first started seeing Linh, there was more appreciation for loyal clients, even small gestures like birthday discounts. That sense of customer appreciation seems to be gone now. As someone who has consistently supported her work, tipped well, visited frequently, and referred clients, it's disappointing to feel like that loyalty isn't valued. I genuinely wanted to keep supporting her, but between the inconsistent pricing, declining attention to detail, and lack of appreciation for repeat clients, I can't honestly recommend booking with her anymore.

Great nail shop! Very nice equipment it's clean as well. Everyone is very nice says hello immediately. Ask for Kevin he's the best! He had a great attention for detail and is also quick but makes sure your nails are good quality. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it.

They destroyed my nails. I went in a few weeks ago and they over-filed my previous set and wore them down so thin. What's worse is they let me walk out with ridged nails, meaning they didn't bother to buff them or smooth them out. So I paid to get my nails thinned out and leave with drill marks. would not recommend if you're looking for quality care for natural nails. read more

I've been going to Kevin and Linh for almost 10 years now, way before they opened their own spot in Alameda! I seriously can't recommend them enough! They're always so welcoming, super efficient, and the salon is consistently clean and comfortable. You can tell they really care about their clients. But what really keeps me coming back is the quality of their work. Shape is everything when it comes to nails, and they get it right every single time. I'm the pickiest about shape, and I've honestly never walked out disappointed. All of their designs are hand-painted, and they offer pretty much everythingggggg! Chrome, rhinestones, cat eye, builder gel, detailed nail art. And whenever I bring in an inspo pic, they somehow make it look even better on my nails. After almost a decade with them, I can confidently say they're some of the best nail artists in the Bay. If you're looking for a nail tech around here, this is it! read more

They overcharge you for everything and they have very limited selection of colours. They're also not clean. They will re-use tools without disinfectant. They talk about you in their language to other employees and your tip doesnt always go to the person who did your nails. I went twice and did not have a pleasant experience both times. I showed them an inspo pic and they said they could do it, however when it was time to actually do it, they told me they didn't have the colour i wanted and was called picky for not liking how my nails turned out. read more

After five months without getting my nails done, a coworker recommended Envy Nails, and I'm so glad she did! The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, making scheduling a breeze. They even got my best friend and me started as soon as we arrived. Kevin did my nails, and he was both funny and great to chat with. I showed him an inspo photo for what I wanted done, and he was able to do it easily. I got a Gel X manicure, and I'm beyond happy with the results. The pricing was reasonable and we were in and out of there within an hour. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Upon walking in, I was greeted and assisted right away for my 10:30am Monday appointment. It wasn't busy at all, & Linh was able to take her time with my nails and did a great job. I originally came in just for a full set, but after some convincing from Linh, I decided to get a pedicure too since my toenails were overdue. The service overall was great. Linh offered me water and was very thorough with filing and applying my nails. The process took about an hour and a half, and midway through I was moved to the chairs to begin my pedicure. As for the pedicure, the outcome looked nice, but the service itself was just okay. I didn't really get to soak my feet much since the tub wasn't filled deeply, and the exfoliation was minimal--barely any scrubbing at the bottoms of my feet. A little disappointing, but at least the finished look on my toes was clean and well done. The biggest shock was the price. My total came out to $150 ($165 with tip), which feels very steep to me. For comparison, I usually get Gel-X done in SoCal for $65 or less, add-ons included. Here in NorCal, I guess the market is different, but $100 for a simple nail design and $50 for a gel pedicure seems excessive. While the nails were executed well, the pricing just didn't match the level of service for me. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 3.5-4/5. It's convenient, has parking across the street, and is a decent option if you don't mind paying premium prices. But if you're looking for more affordable service without sacrificing quality, I'd definitely recommend checking out home-based nail artists who don't charge as much for add-ons :) read more

I came to this salon as a referral while my regular manicurist was on vacation. When I walked in, I checked the prices and saw the service was about $10 more than what I usually pay, which was fine. What was not fine was discovering that everything is charged separately, with no explanation upfront. I was charged for gel powder removal, adding gel, gel acrylic (which I did not ask for), French manicure, and chrome polish. I walked out paying $115, which was never discussed or clearly explained beforehand. On top of that, my nails are already long, yet the technician kept pushing me to add tips--which made no sense and felt like unnecessary upselling. I specifically asked for powder only, but I felt like he wasn't listening to what I wanted and instead kept telling me how my nails would look "when he was finished." There was no clear communication about pricing or services, and I felt pressured into add-ons I didn't request. Transparency and listening to the client are really important, and unfortunately this experience missed the mark on both. read more

The chairs are new as well as the place is newly remodeled they use disposable basin covers. The pedicure itself was really good and felt caring. Linh is so talented! Follow envy nails on Instagram to see all her amazing designs. She really takes her time with the shaping and dipping of the acrylic. I'm so excited to come back to get more designs done with Linh. Acrylic base price is $65, designs additional. Refills are $55 base. There's a parking lot in the back and also across the street which makes it convenient! Recommend making an appointment. read more

Amazing, I received excellent services at envy nails!! I was so happy to find Linh to do my mani, she's so talented and provided quality services to her clients. Im so amazed by the attention to details and ensure clients like their mani and designs. Envy nails opened earlier this year, this salon used to be KD nails & Hair, it's under new ownership of Envy nails with very talented nail artists. The salon has brand new massage chairs, new nail polishes, equipments, everything is very sanitized and clean. The chairs are so comfy!! I got gel mani and regular pedi, mani by Linh, pedi by Nancy. They are so friendly and very gentle for mani pedi services. I love the scrubs and seeing my fresh mani pedi come to life for the spring. My mood is even better after a self care session for an hour. Their services are very decently priced. My total came out to be $77 with 10% grand opening discount. The reason for 3 stars is solely dependent on the amount of time, and how much the services costed, a minor service issue as well, not terrible though. This is my first time here, i was taking a stroll on park and saw this place and peaked in and saw how luxurious and clean it looked, very big open space, lots of massage chairs, so i decided to pop and see for myself. So i stroll in around 4:30pm, for a new set and gel pedi. Typically both services take me at most 2 hours. I get sat down to remove my current acrylic set, this probably took at least 30-45 minutes. From the filing, to the soaking, removal, soaking again, and removal again. This is the longest I've ever experienced a removal. Then comes the cutting and shaping of my natural nails to prep for my new set. Finally i get moved to a massage chair to start my pedicure. I opted for the deluxe so this comes with a variety of things, from what i can remember, at least 2 masks, scrub, 10 minute massage, and hot rocks after. The total for this was $70, which is way more than what i would've normally paid at different locations, but I'm not knocking it, just isn't in my range but can be for someone else. Quality isn't great, but isn't bad. This is where my service issue/frustration comes in. My pedicure took almost 45 mins, and finally someone comes to start my set, or so i thought. She kept moving around, from one person to another, helping another client in between, but there are 3 other workers. I then get moved to a table, and I'm waiting again for about 10 minutes. She sits back down with me, and i thought okay great we're starting forreal now. Nope, we weren't. There was another client waiting, and she stops what she's doing with me, the gentlemen comes over and she moves to help the other client and he's now my nail tech. It is now 6:38pm and we're finally starting my set. Precise time because i was texting my bf to let him know bc this process was just taking so long. And i kid you not, the process from putting on the gel x nails, to shaping, filing, etc etc, i didn't walk out of there until 8:12pm. I did a very basic paint with cat eye polish. Typically 2 layers of paint, but he painted at least 5 layers before starting the cat eye magnetic process... In total i paid $168, and tipped $20. The amount of time spent there and the cost of it all, and being moved around from one person to another, ultimately costed the 2 stars. But again, this is just my experience i am sharing, and not to deter your decision to visit, because the quality of work is there.

Nobody rushed me with "hello what do you want" or shoved a color wall in my face before I even sat down. I actually felt like a person, not just another number to get in and out. It wasn't until I was sitting there that I realized how used to bad treatment I'd gotten. Other salons trained me without me even noticing, packed into a tiny space, treated like I'm on a conveyor belt, rushed out before my nails even had time to properly dry. I had honestly forgotten my time and my experience mattered. Delane's brought that back for me. The professionalism was on another level too. No games with the price going up if you don't tip in cash, which is honestly tacky and rude and tells you exactly how little they think of their customers. Nobody crowding me in next to three other people either. It was calm, it was peaceful, it actually felt relaxing instead of stressful. And the cleanliness. Towels were fresh, equipment looked properly cleaned, none of that murky blue water sitting in a dirty container that's clearly been there for who knows how long. Even the bathroom was clean, and that alone tells you a lot about how a place is really run. I've been going to Envy Nails for a while now, and I can honestly say that Linh is the best! She's so talented and really pays attention to every little detail. My nails always turn out perfect -- the shape, color, and design are always exactly how I want them. What I really love is how long my nails last! They stay strong and beautiful for weeks without chipping or lifting. Linh is also super accommodating with appointments -- she always works with my schedule and makes sure I can get in when I need to.
