I had a scheduled appointment at 2:30 PM today which also happened to be my birthday and I did not leave until nearly 5:30 PM. The experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional from start to finish. In the middle of my service, the nail technician completely stopped working on my nails to begin another customer's set because that customer stated she was in a hurry and no longer wanted to wait. As a paying client with a scheduled appointment, I found that incredibly disrespectful and unacceptable. After returning to my service, the technician rushed through the remainder of my nails. In the process, she nicked my cuticle, causing pain and discomfort. The final result was poor quality: my nails were uneven, some were noticeably thicker than others, and the acrylic application was lumpy and inconsistent. Overall, the service, professionalism, and quality did not meet basic expectations. Spending nearly three hours for rushed, careless work especially on my birthday completely ruined the experience. My husband wanted to treat me to my nails, so we went to Lee's Nails. I believe it was the owner that did my nails if I'm not wrong, but she did an amazing job. My husband was there with me, and it took a while to get the thick set I had on soaked off so she offered my husband a massage chair to sit in so he could get a massage as he waited. I wanted my nails done after work and despite having a 9-5, a lot of days i'm not off until 7-8pm. I called Lee's as a first time customer and they accommodated me into their schedule for a late appointment. I did a gel overlay for both mani and pedi. I was the only one in there so all three women assisted me. They were friendly and personable and gave input on my color choices without being overbearing as compared to other places i've been to prior. They didn't rush given it was the end of the night, so i appreciated that they didn't sacrifice quality. Only downside is it wasn't full blown mani/pedi experience with the soaks or massages or scrubs, but given the time of day and the price they quoted me, it was still very worth it and I will be coming back again. read more

The first time I went here it was great. Although I only wanted a regular mani/pedi I was talked into a gel manicure at a discount. When I went to pay with my debit card I was told the debit card machine was broken and I would have to go to the ATM machine next door to go cash. When I returned in 3 weeks to get a color change on my gel nails the manicurist decided to cover the color I chose with a lighter color at the end of the procedure. She also continuously tried to get me to get me to get the pedicure and when I refused she says next time she will do my eyebrows. She is very pushy. I left and then I noticed that the manicure was a little bumpy. As if something granular was on a few. I will never go back to this place because of the pushy way I was treated. Now because it is very hard to remove the gel nail color without pure acetone and cotton wrapped in foil I will have to find another nail salon with better service. read more

One Star bc the owner and staff are nice. I do not recommend this place. A few months ago, I got a gel manicure here. The manicure was nice but took over 2hrs!!! 4/19: I came here w/o an appointment, around 1 PM, hoping to get a regular acrylic fill. I was desperate as last minute plans had come up. Kathy (owner) told me to comeback at 3:30 PM. I agreed, returned at 3:20 PM to find her busy with another customer. Needless to say, I was completely annoyed because I could've attempted to do a walk-in at one of my preferred salons. Anyways, Kathy was extremely apologetic and promised that I would be her next customer. Eventually, my nails were done, 3 hrs after my initial appointment. So many dislikes. 1) most of my nail length was filed away AND the shape is gone. 2) Some are thicker/wider than others. 3) The fill took forever! 4) The nail that I had replaced BROKE the very next day. After contacting Kathy about my broken nail(which I initially told her the nail did not feel stable), she agreed to fix it. Let's just say that the new nail looks nothing like the others. Also, it took her 1:10 mins to replace ONE NAIL! I will never spend my money, time, energy here again. read more

Got a manicure here late afternoon on a Friday. It wasn't busy, and they could take a walk-in immediately. There were a few people there, and they seem to be regulars. Never been here before and all the other spas on Park Street I've tried made me feel frustrated or taken advantaged of (except Nail Bar - that's an excellent nail salon). Tara was my manicurist, and she did a great job. I'm meticulous when it comes to cleaning and the polish itself, and Tara was one of the most meticulous manicurist I've had. Normally at other spas I'd have to ask to even things out and to clean polish that ends up on the skin and was missed. I didn't have to do that this time. Tara was also really friendly, and I enjoyed chatting with her like we were family friends. At one point, I made a comment about the nail color I picked, and she was intuitive and picked up that maybe I wasn't feeling it. I didn't even realize I wasn't feeling it. She was patient while I thought about it a moment, and I realized I didn't like it. She was happy to replace the color with another that I liked better (she was about 2 nails in). Also not once did she make me feel pressured to get gel or any add ons. I hate that and avoid salons that make me feel pressured to do more than what I came for. Cons: The polish has mostly kept for almost a week but one nail started chipping at day 5. One star down since the manicure took longer than expected about 1.5 hours. Lastly, the back area near the restroom was messy. The place could be a bit more organized and cleaner. I plan to come back again. read more

I decided that I would get a mani/pedi from Lee's as it's a long weekend and I felt that I needed a treat. I try not to discriminate--I frequent high end, middle of the road, and small businesses--as long as my standards for cleanliness are met. Below is what I thought about Lee's Nails. 1. Yes, these ladies are Vietnamese and don't speak much English. However, in my humble opinion, they speak enough to be able to provide you with the service you're paying for... especially since their prices are a steal (see below for second point)! 2. If I recall correctly, the basic manicure alone is $8 and the basic pedicure is $15. They have a higher tier mani and pedi, which is only a few bucks more for each service, but you can get a mani and pedi for $25 (the nicer ones). This is a good bargain. They take card, but as they're a small business, they prefer cash. ALSO, REMEMBER TO BRING CASH FOR TIP. 3. Yes, they take their time, but I believe they do a good job scrubbing/grooming/massaging you. I made an appointment at 11AM, but don't think I got into the chair until 11:15? I was done in about an hour and 15 minutes, but stayed another 30 minutes to make sure my nails were fully dried. I didn't make plans for afterward, but decided to shop around Park Street for kicks (went to Sway and also Dog Bone Alley), and my toes and finger nails survived the browsing/trying on of clothes. 4. The only complaint I had with the pedicure is that I wish they had been a tiny bit more aggressive in scrubbing the calluses on the back of my heels (since I wear heels to work daily). Other than that, perfect! 5. The manicure was nice, but the best part about it was the arm/hand massage. Since I spend 5 days a week in front of a computer at work, I have tendonitis, and I think I found a nice/budget friendly way to get a massage for them :) In terms of quality, both manicure and pedicure are a bit better than satisfactory (to me). We'll see how long they last though. 4. The woman who did my toes and fingers was a little Vietnamese lady named "Amy." I am naturally pretty gregarious, and I don't mind talking to the people who provide me with these services, but it was actually quite nice not having to talk while she did my nails. I tried to be polite and said thank you and smiled many times. She was nice, but (per item 1) didn't speak much English. 5. This place was clean, but it's not high end. Very casual, quiet vibe. 6. I can't speak to any services other than manis/pedis, but I may definitely go back here when I need another treat. read more
