Good things: La Vie nails appears to only have one nail tech- if you can go early on a weekday you will get good service. She is talented and I was happy with how they turned out. :) I paid $60 for an acrylic set and 55 for a fill (this does not include the tip). Was nervous since this is the first time I got a full acrylic set but it came out fine. The first set took under an a hour (simple design) and the other one took about an hour. Thanks Sabrina! If you can get an appointment at a slow time, you'll be fine! I came on a Tuesday morning in October and then I think on a Saturday morning? Saturday felt a bit rushed and rougher but admittedly efficient. Downsides: - called to see if they would schedule a removal and they just said no? Why can I get my nails done here but not get them removed? went somewhere else for that. Just thought it was unusual that none of the other colleagues were able to do nail removal - guess it's not worth their time? - Honestly the nail station was not that clean or organized the first time I went in. Maybe cause there is only one lady doing 90% of the nail stuff. - If you need to be accommodated quickly during a busy time you might not get the service you're looking for here. Sabrina appears to be the only nail person there so she's taking calls while doing nails and tbh the other staff appeared to be way less busy with other services like pedicures. - Color selection is a little limited
Sabrina is an ARTIST!!!! I love having fun designs on my nails and she just gets it. Also, the back rubs are a huge plus! Reasonably priced and love that parking is easy.
Loving my nails! I've been coming here consistently for nearly a year. I'm impressed with every staff member; they are attentive, detail oriented, efficient and affordable. They are all soo nice and give you a back massage while you're waiting for your nails to dry. I swear, I'm always amazed by the names they remember each time I'm there. Shout out to Sabrina for always doing a great job with my full sets! Thank you.
Sabrina was a pleasure to have worked with. She did a phenomenal job on my mani pedi. She was very meticulous and gentle with every step. She payed fine attention to the small details and that was very much appreciated. She did a bunch of things to my mani nails that other shops don't take into consideration such as cleaning the dried paint off the sides of the nails and clipping access cuticles. I was even provided with a shoulder/back massage. I did not feel rushed, I never once needed to voice my opinion of dissatisfaction, that was very reassuring. My nails were all even and painted perfectly. I will definitely be returning. There was plenty of seats even with distance. They have a very nice size parking lot with great other stores to visit. FYI this place is CASH ONLY not much of a problem with Wells Fargo and ATM next door. Update: I've been back at least two or more times and all were disappointing. This recent time when I arrived I again scheduled me an appointment for 1:30pm. When I arrived the shop was busy but not understaffed to have fit me in. Instead staff sat around acting as if they didn't remember my appointment. 2 employees servicing one person at a time to each chair catering to feet and nails instead of everyone doing a separate individual, led me to not getting in a chair until 2 pm. Before I got my Pedicure started I mentioned that I had a burn on my foot and to just be cautious around it. Instead They kept touching it for some reason and being rough. While getting my feet done, staff also worked on my hands making me feel uncomfortable in the position. She was rough and threw my hands every time she switched hands. I payed for eyebrows to which it looked like nothing was done to. She filled them in with pencil which I didn't want at all. And when I wiped off the makeup my eyebrows looked completely the same as I started. Super disappointed in the work. My pedicure was lackluster and unnoticeable. I now understand, the more customers they have, the more they lack in quality of work.
I had to count to a thousand to cool off before finishing this review. Prior to the very last moment I was going to give 3 stars. I downgraded to 2 stars because a technician (not the one that worked on me) ripped off the toe separator from my feet and shoved my feet back into my slippers due to frustration from my technician who started on another guest prior to finishing me and let me sit there twiddling my thumbs wondering if I was done. Read below for more details. My husband and I just got back from vacation and we didn't want our vacation to end; so after having lunch with our friend, we walked into La Vie for pedicures. The technician I got was a little rough with the filing of my toe nails; or at least I thought so - it could be because I have sensitive feet? Idk. When she was done filing my toe nails, they hurt and felt raw, but I figured it would get better with the next steps. Into the warm water my feet went - ahhhh ... water felt great. Next it was time to get all the gunk out of the crevices of my toe nails (LOL! sorry I don't know the technical term for it). She dug into my feet and I had to watch to make sure she wasn't going to poke a hole into my toe - she didn't lol but boy that was scary. She tapped my leg to signal she was done with each foot and next came the leg massage ... She kept staring outside like she was thinking about a boyfriend who just broke up with her. I felt her pain for sure! My husband got an older lady and she was very gentle with him. He loved it. He was finished before I was because he didn't get polish (party pooper lol) so he vacated his massage chair and waiting in the front area. My technician then started painting my toe nails. As she completed my second coat, all of the sudden she motions me to scoot over to my husband's vacated chair; so I did. I sat and watched her get my vacated chair's basin cleaned up and refilled with warm water. I sat, and sat, and sat ... was I done? Did I misunderstand and think I was supposed to sit when I was supposed to leave? I soon saw why I was asked to scoot over - the husband of a new guest who just walked in approached my vacated chair and sat - Ah, ok. They wanted to sit together. I guess I can understand that. Then my technician comes back to my feet. She puts on one clear coat then scoots back over to the husband who took my chair, started working on him, answered a call, and continued to work on him. Now I'm sitting here feeling awkward, wondering again - am I done???? Not once did my technician look back at me. I look around and one of her colleagues gave me an awkward chuckle and said "I'll help you in a minute" ... She saw what happened and probably felt bad for me. I sat and sat and sat. Another technician tells a male technician to finish my toes. He passes by without even looking - I don't blame him; why should he finish up his colleague's work when he was working on a client himself! ... and then it happened - the technician who told the male technician to finish my toes angrily headed my way, RIPPED off the toe separators from my feet and SHOVED my feet back in my slippers. I was so shocked and really quite embarrassed that that happened to me that I just said "oooookkkk" walked up to the counter and paid. I still left some tip because the result of my technician's work was great. I just will NEVER come back here for the rude service. 3 stars are for accepting us as walk-ins, the perfect water temperature, the price, and great results. Minus 1 star for rude service.
Nails came out great but not sure about the cleanliness of their tools and the experience felt a little chaotic/not relaxing
I usually go to an independent nail artist, but I was being impulsive and couldn't wait my nails needed to get done ASAP. I was a little nervous trying somewhere new, but Sabrina did exactly what I asked for. I got acrylics and I'm super picky, especially about my shape, but she gave me the sharp square nails I wanted. Definitely happy with how they came out . read more

I did not have an appointment and they were able to take me in immediately. My nails came out so good I had to come on here and make a review! I'm very satisfied, they're the best I've ever had. The shape is perfect and I had a color I wanted and they were able to match it perfectly. Decently priced and the added massage was great. I will be returning again. read more

I've been coming to La Vie for over 10 years. Today, I got a manicure and pedicure. They charged an addition $5 for color which should be included in the Manicure & Pedicure price (see chart, it states a standard mani-pedi is $55) read more

I just moved to the area and needed a pedi badly and this is the first place I tried and I am definitely coming back. Helen did a fantastic job and massaged my calf's and feet for a while which was so lovely. I could tell they really care about their customers! read more

I'm very impressed with the friendliness of the La Vie staff! Two times, I called during a weekday, I work close by, and was able to get an appt. I was in and out for a quality mani and pedi within 1hr. They have upgraded their chairs and stations recently. They had a wide array of colors to choose from. Thanks Trini and Tim! I've been coming here for the last 15 years. They are amazing. Actually, they started on Park Street and I followed him all the way over here to the other side of Alameda. At the marina. No Walk-Ins Wanted! I came with my granddaughter and she was minimally greeted upon entry. I was completely ignored. Too bad. It's totally okay to not want walk-in business but for the cold greeting and being ignored, we'll go elsewhere for this service in the future. PS: There were three other techs doing nothing! read more

La Vie Nails is one of the best part of moving to the Bay for me! I've never gone back to a single salon this many times and will continue to go back to for as long as I live here. Sabrina and their team does a perfect acrylic set or fill for me every time. It's so great having a reliable salon with very talented nail tech to go back to. read more

I have been a regular customer since 2015 and I still love coming here. It is a small and quaint nail shop and can easily be overlooked. It may not be for everybody, but I come back simply because I value their service. I never schedule my appointments and haven't had any issues with a walk-in. I have only observed them turn a walk-in away when the chairs are full and they are extremely busy. Their prices have remained consistent (even during the pandemic) and I enjoy the foot/leg massage during my pedicure, as well as my hand and upper back/shoulder massage after my mani. Everyone here has always been friendly and welcoming to me. I have also observed how they engage with other customers, especially longtime clientele. It is still nice to go places where people greet you and know you by face or name! read more

I walked in without an appointment at 10am and there were already 3 people getting their nails done and 2 others waiting. I was told 15minutes but waited 30. A few people with appointments were asked to wait too, so this isn't the spot if you might be in a hurry. Thi did white gels with chrome on my nails. She was meticulous around the edges and I appreciate that care. Helen gave me a pedicure and did an amazing job. I'll be back here again. read more
