[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'd like to preface this with the ladies at the salon were very sweet and we were laughing together about my choice of multicolor nails and that I was wearing lots of color.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the execution of my nails is not worth half the money I spent, honestly. I do everything I can not to leave bad reviews. I just don't like to, because we all have bad days, and sometimes we just need a little grace. That said, I'm so incredibly disappointed in the manicure/pedicure I just got at Classy Nail Spa. First off, just a general critique on nail salons, I don't know when it became a thing to make the patron do contortions while they're getting a pedicure so a 2nd tech can be applying nails at the same time, but I wish that practice would go away. It makes a very relaxing experience anything but relaxing. Back to Classy Nail Spa, there were a couple little oops moments, like getting the wrong colors, putting a tip on crooked and having to take it off and start over, but no big deal. My problem is with the finished product. I have nail glue & acrylic under my nails. My cuticles are a mess. The nails are all of varying thickness, and lumpy. They're not shaped the same. And for some reason they don't go all the way to my cuticle. Also, at least three of the tips aren't even glued all the way down. Truly. I'm very saddened (and angry, if I'm honest) by this. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When she was finished she got up and walked away. I said, "are we finished?" And she said, "yeah" so I asked if I could wash my hands and she said, "sure". Having never been there before, I just went searching for the sink, which had barely running water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yes. I tipped 20% like I normally do, because in this economy I feel guilty if I don't. But upon further reflection I really wish I hadn't. I can honestly say I've had better mani/pedis when I was in cosmetology school 30 some odd years ago. It feels like either they were brand new at doing nails, (in which case you don't charge $95 for a mani/ pedi with gel only on fingernails) or they don't want to do nails anymore. Either way, not the experience I was hoping and paid for. I've just moved here and I was really hoping to find my new nail place, but I will absolutely keep searching. When i arrived it was one lady getting a pedicure and one lady getting a manicure. I was seated fast for my pedicure and it was overall good. I've only got my nails professionally done two other times in the past- they're pricey and I would just do them myself. I decided to treat myself to getting acrylics and a deluxe pedicure before my Vegas trip. This is my second time getting acrylics and my first time getting a pedicure. I booked an appointment in advance and showed up about 20 minutes early and was seated promptly. The massage chairs are a nice touch and the ladies got my foot bath ready ASAP. I liked how it was lined for hygenic purposes. Two of the ladies started working on my nails and my feet simultaneously. I felt kind of bad for the lady during my pedicure massage- it seemed like she was groaning and wincing in pain. The pedicure itself was great but I think it was a little too rough when my cuticles were being worked on. As for my nails, I communicated to my nail technician what exactly I wanted and showed her an inspiration photo. There was some miscommunication due to a language barrier and so she had to redo a couple of my nails when I said that I would like to have a more gold color rather than a hot pink color. There were at least two other nail technicians hovering over watching while mine was working on my nails- I felt a bit self conscious and started to wonder if I asked for something way too complex. When my technician started to work on the gems, she had another worker help her getting the gems out right side up. At the end my hands were all oiled up but was given a rushed hand massage. I came in at 3:25PM, and left about 5:30PM, so that's probably why. After a week my nails are still holding up very well and I'm impressed that the gems have not fallen off! I've been pretty rough with my hands so it's nice to know that the adhesive for the gems is very sturdy. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my nails as well. :) Acrylics and deluxe pedicure cost me $118 before tips. I'll probably be back again but just for special occasions. read more

Last week I had an appointment scheduled for a new set of acrylics and a pedicure. I sat in the shop 30 minutes without being acknowledged. I left and called another place to schedule with them to find out that they were sister companies. I had to ask to have it removed twice. When I looked at my toes, it looked like a little kid did them. She was also cut a lot of the skin and cuticle, to the point where it hurt.
