A visit here is like a visit with one of your favorite gal pals. Her location on Grand Ave is also nice and centrally located making it easy to get to no matter where you are coming from. Parking is plentiful with both metered parking on Grand and neighborhood parking up the residential streets. I move a lot for work and finding a new wax professional always introduces a bit of anxiety, but all my anxiety melted away when I saw how perfectly tinted and shaped my brows were. She also takes cleanliness very seriously, never double dipping the sticks and changing gloves as she moves to a different area to wax. I'm so glad I found this place, I'm definitely a client for life (until I move again) and will never go anywhere else in the Bay.

I had my first microdermabrasion with Paula yesterday, after seeing a deal on Groupon. This…read moreexperience was amazing..the whole process lasted TWO HOURS and it definitely relaxed me to the point where I fell asleep a couple times. The Groupon also included a paraffin hand treatment, but be forewarned that the paraffin is scalding hot when you dip your hands in. Paula started out with a facial, including extractions. I actually think that during the extractions, she was also tweezing the little hairs on the area between my nose and cheek! Never had an esthetician do that before but I actually appreciated that. Then came the microdermabrasion and then after that was a very thorough arm, chest, shoulder, scalp and face massage. That was what made her stand out from the other estheticians I've been to. It wasn't a quick lotion rub down. I love a good massage. Just when I thought it was over, then came a cooling seaweed mask which was left on my face for 20 minutes. There was a lot of other steps to my experience with Paula but I'm highlighting the points that makes her stand out. Her office is in a suite of other businesses, which includes a private parking lot in back. That is a big deal, when located on busy Santa Clara St. After it was all over, she showed me my dead skin and all the gunk she got out from the extractions. It's the day after, and my skin is feeling and looking smooth and soft. I definitely plan on going back. Who knows...if she keeps this up, I may have to switch over from the regular esthetician I've been seeing for over 12 years and buy a series of facials.

I called to make my appointment for 4:30 today, and I got there a bit later (4:38) but luckily it wasn't super busy so I was still able to get in. I showed the threader a picture of how I like my brows to be done, and she did them really well, checking with me right after the basic clean up to see how far I wanted to go. I don't like too much off of my brows, but I do always need the unibrow gone and some trimming needs to occur. The vibe was nice, quiet and clean. The music reminded me of something I have on my ADHD hyper fixation playlist that I listen to while working or reading. Oh, and to get my brows threaded it only costed $12.
