This nail salon is very peaceful and nice. This is my go to place for mani and pedi's. I've tried almost all the nail salons in Alameda and this one is the best. They are always on time. Other places will say they can see me but 30 minutes later, I'm still waiting. Here, they run on time and they don't rush me out to cater to other guests. The service has been attentive every time I go with my boyfriend , we usually get seated within minutes of arriving . Although there have been 2 instance one were they didn't get my hangnail all the way which caused my big toe to get swollen on the side and another were they accidentally cut his big toe while cutting his nail . They do charge $10 to remove gel nails from your toes if your getting a regular nail polish pedicure . Mine happened a few days to develop , he discovered his when she cleaned his toenails with alcohol and it stung .would I stop coming here because of it ? The ladies at Alameda nails have done it again, I'm so impressed with their attention to details and general great service. I took my mom for her first manicure in the US w reg polish. The nail tech recommended her a holiday color and did an excellent job w her nails. Now I got my mom to self care lol. I've been wanting Hailey Biebers pearl nails for a while and the younger nail tech, Linh was able to achieve it simply without powder. She used lightest white gel polish and chrome powder on top. Pearl nails is usually powder which costs more than gel but she did mine with gel polish. I'm super satisfied with service and quality. I don't get manis/pedis often but have to attend a wedding soon so tagged along with my sister who always gets the deluxe pedicure option. They are appointment only. The shop is like on the more dead side of Alameda lol. Not crazy busy like Park St. It's nice and relaxing. I got a regular pedicure for $31. My lady was professional and efficient. Both my daughter and I got fungus under our fingernails at this place. When I told them the first time they blamed me and then started speaking in Vietnamese. Also, they are very expensive and they do a terrible job at gel. Their gel job is super thick and uneven. I've never had this issue with gel nor fungus under a fingernail. When I brought both of these issues up to them, the second time and I was very polite they were extremely rude started speaking in Vietnamese and ignoring me. My review is not about the quality of the job the nail technician did, it is about the way I was treated. I had made an appointment, came in on time, walked in and said hello and no one answered: the guy at the front desk answering phone is just staring at me behind the glass, looking right through me. Then finally someone said something that sounded like "can we help you" so I said I had an appointment at 5 for a pedicure.... no reaction, no take a seat, nothing. I left and came back a couple minutes later because I had left my nail polish in the car and then they said: pick a color, have a seat. Ok. Then a chair opens up, it's being cleaned, water running and the guy tells me to sit and then walks away and the water is scorching hot but no one is asking how it is, the water just keeps running and I am waiting while several people are talking in the back. Finally a person appears and asks me about the water: she is the tech and she is obviously good at her job and I totally get how this is not a fun job, it's 5pm on a Saturday, I am sure they have been very busy, but I am a customer. Not a regular customer, but a customer nonetheless. That is not what offended me most. What did offend me, and the reason I will never be back, is that before my nails are dry, I am being asked to leave the chair because a regular is waiting to get his nails done (the guy had been in for like 3 minutes and surely could have waited another 5 until the chair next to mine opened up) so I have to walk bare feet to a chair by the door until my nails are dry enough for me to put my shoes on. That is just wrong. I mean, the place is clean but the floor is the floor and people have been walking on it with shoes all day long and I have to walk bare feet on it? You guys will never see me again and I guess you're not hurting for business, obviously, but that is no way to treat a customer. I am a nice person, left a nice tip anyway, and I expect to be treated with as much respect as the regular customers who, by the way, had been lounging since way before I arrived and were never asked to leave their chair! read more

My technician was elderly asian woman. She cut my nails unevenly, start polishing without base coat. I asked why she didn't put base coat, she said she did. Mai is an artist!! This was my first time getting a full set and bay-beh Mai popped off! My full set and regular pedicure took less than an hour to complete. She was super gentle and payed attention to what I wanted. Price was SUPER fair and I got so many compliments. These nails were not coming off for anything! I called several places in Alameda but none of them could take me last minute until this one. The regular mani pedi is only $50 (it would've been almost double the cost at Berkeley salons). I think it's a hidden gem bc it's not on the main street (Park Street). I was surprised it was so quiet and pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon. They deserve more customers! I was pleased with how my nails turned out, and the service was good! I was indecisive about the nail colors but the decision was made for me when the pink color I chose for my fingernails turned out nearly empty. The extra bonus was the massage chairs bc of my severe back pain currently. It would've been a very different experience without it so I feel extra grateful for this unexpected treat. Yes yes and yes! I am so glad I piggybacked my friends nail appointment and came to get myself a pedicure. This place has an healthy nail salon award from the city of Alameda and they have signs to prove it on the wall inside the shop. I got the classic pedicure which is $20, and cheaper than many unhealthy places in oakland. The pedicure station is different than others too. Their massage chairs recline all the way, massages your whole back and legs! My pedicure wasn't done in the typical pedicure bowl most places have, they use plastic bowls that sit on top of a foot massage and inside the bowl there's a another layer of a removable liner which keeps it super clean since they discard after every use. They put real slices of lemons in the water which is really good for the skin. My pedicurist was really nice and took her time while doing my feet. They were really helpful with answering all my questions. They don't have a private parking lot but there are tons of free street parking outside. read more

I was looking for a good pedicure and Alameda Nails did not disappoint. My daughter and I got the deluxe pedicure and were very pleased with the service. Very attentive, took time to ensure our pedicure was done correctly. They had a nice array of various exfoliating scrub fragrances and mud pack to select from. I got the aloe Vera and my daughter got the lavender. They also used a warm gel after cleaning and it felt so toasty. I'll definitely be back as the place was really clean with no chemical odors. This establishment does NOT respect the client's time. I called and made a 9:30 am first thing in the morning appointment for a fill (on a full set that I got done at this salon last month). They scheduled it. Then later in the day, called me back to ask if I could come at 1pm instead. Even though I wasn't told why they were requesting the switch to a later time, and even though it was inconvenient, I said okay. At 1pm, I'm 4 minutes away and I get a call from them. I'm apologetic and immediately say "I'm very close, I'll be there soon" As I'm pulling up to park at exactly 1:04 in front of the salon for that appointment I get another phone call saying that they need to reschedule me for 3:00 because "Linda is on a tight schedule". First of all, how can there be anyone else booked with Linda at 1:05 if I'm supposed to be in her chair? Second , so you can keep moving me around but I can't get a 4 minute grace period for the appointment that I accepted trying to give you some flexibility even though it was not what I wanted?! I think they've forgotten who is meant to be serving whom in this equation. No thanks. I won't be coming back. read more

It makes me sad when they have to turn away walk in's, so make sure to call ahead. I've been seeing Linh regularly for my gel manicure and now acrylic sets with gel and I always get complimented on my nails.
