The Mr. Natural mural in east Austin celebrates vegetarians and is next door to the Mr. Natural store. It highlights that being a vegetarian is not a fad but a lifestyle. I enjoy plant based food so this mural resonates with me.

When u walk in, you can do take out or dineIn Inside is big and spacious, fast, friendly service , I got the fish taco. I don't know why they call it a fish taco, but it was good , the refried beans was my favorite. The brown rice was OK. It was a little cold ,but it was decent. they also have a bakery. Everything looked good. I didn't try anything. Maybe next time when I come back I will give them a try , but I would totally check them out, even if you're not a vegan!

Great vegan food for vegans and meat eaters alike. It's a bit pricey, but the food is stellar and large portions. Love their desert. They package delivery nicely so it doesnt spill. My go-to Door Dash!

Vegan Mole Fries

I'm not vegan or vegetarian but this is my go to place when my vegan friend comes into town. Very casual order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. I love the pineapple juice behind the counter. I've had the breakfast sandwich previously but decided to venture out and get the chilaquiles and that green sauce is good. Very zesty. Love that they have black beans bc that's really the only beans I eat. We splurged and got the vegan mole fries and they were so good I had to tell my DF husband about them. I also love bringing home their gluten free bakery items home to my husband as well.

Amazing

We visited the booth they had at Veg Fest today and we tried a few of their donuts (a HUGE chocolate glazed for $6 and a little gluten free chocolate cake for $2) as well as a kolache (sausage and cheese). All the pastries we tried were super sweet, fluffy, fresh, and flavorful. That donut was not only the best vegan donut I have had, it was the best donut I've had. Period. I am obsessed. I definitely want to go into the restaurant and try more of their cakes and pastries and things.

I'm obsessed with their cake slices and GF/VG chocolate chip cookie! The staff is always sweet and helpful when I go which is lovely too.

Came in on Thursday afternoon around 5pm, right during rush hour. Completely empty inside. Girl who helped us was... not very charismatic or caring. Dunno if it was an off day but she didn't really seem to wanna be there. Got an ube bundlet and a vegan "fish" taco. Taco was delish, but $7 for one smallish/medium sized taco? Yikes. Their pastries are more decently priced.

Different angle of lunch!

It has been at least 15 hrs since I have eaten here. The space is remodeled and larger. There are more retail offerings. The food and staff os just as i remember it, delicious, fresh and served with a smile and explanations of every dish. The vegan bakery is still the center piece of the space. Conversations can be had without shouting. I will definitely put Mr. Natural back on my rotation, especially for out of town guest and yhe monthly ladies lunch!

I love their vegan desserts, and the staff is incredibly nice! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful pastry display with vegan and gluten free options.

It is always fun visiting Mr Natural, and I love the food here. The mole enchilada plate was perfect.

Corn oil crap
Amy L.

1. It's expensive. 2. The atmosphere is no good. 3. They use canola oil in everything. Canola Oil is Hydrogenated Oil. This process includes caustic refining, bleaching, and degumming - all of which involve high temperatures or chemicals that are damaging to the human body. Because canola oil becomes easily rancid and foul-smelling when subjected to oxygen and high temperatures, it's deodorized, turning omega-3 fatty acids into trans-fatty acids. If you're consuming any vegetable oils that are oxidized from heat and light in processing, you are also exposing your body tissues to oxidized or rancid products. This contributes to degenerative diseases (cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes) and chronic inflammation. 4. The herb shop next door - I was okay with the strong odor in the store, and maybe even with the overall overpricing ... but not with being reprimanded... for taking photos... for Yelp...

Vanilla concha (vegan)
Evie S.

Mr. Natural's Jalapeño - sausage- cheese Kolache (all baked goods in the case there are vegan) is my favorite Kolache I tried in Austin. The dough is really soft and delicious. That was by far my favorite item there but I also enjoyed the guava bar and vanilla concha. Their mole lacked the complexity of moles I have tried and tasted more to me like a red enchilada sauce. I preferred their baked goods in the case to the food I tried from the actual menu. From the menu items I enjoyed the milanesa sandwich. Simple Ambience but they have a cute kitchen play area for little ones. I thought the service at the counter was nice and friendly.

Breakfast
Maria S.

Just dined here with the family and it was very good. It's been around for a few decades and hopefully will remain so. Extensive menu and so flavorful, whether you're a vegan or are just adding a few plant-based meals in your week. Veggie burger and fried was good, as well as the "migas" which looked more like chilaquiles but tasted amazing. Many fresh drinks (agua fresca) to choose from, hot bar and salad bar during lunch. You can eat very healthy or indulge. Well worth the trip downtown, has good parking, friendly service and such a calm, unpretentious ambiance. Let's support this 100% Austin authentic business instead of corporate places!

De Nada Cantina - Fried Bean & Cheese Quesadillas (Veg)

It was either too busy or just out of the way for me. At my girlfriend's request, she wanted De Nada. We got De Nada. With no reservations and no plans on a mid-Saturday, we were understandably banished to the outdoor tables. It was a hot day, but with the fan blowing and the cold drinks flowing, I thought we'd be alright. We scanned their QR code menu and got our drinks ordered. Me with a Modelo Negra, and my girlfriend with their Beso De Sandia frozen, with Mezcal, Chamoy, watermelon, and lime. We also ordered chips with Queso Blanco and Salsa Verde with our drinks. The queso was brought to us within the minute we ordered. No joke. It was efficient. Capital F fast. With our drinks eventually brought out, we were honestly chilling. My girlfriend previously had a vegan enchilada she really liked that they didn't have this time, so she went for a Camote taco. I went for their Pollo and their Barbacoa. While we waited, we were putting in active work on that queso, which we knew we would feel later. The tacos came out very quickly too. On my Pollo was confit chicken, poblano peppers, cheese, cilantro, and onions. I was hungry at this point of the day, so it wasn't long before I destroyed it. The Barbacoa had beef, habanero salsa, cilantro, and pickled onions. It was also an excellent pick. On both, the blue corn tortillas were thick, added a touch of sweetness, and just made the experience a little more fun. In seeing the pink menus, the overall aesthetic of De Nada, hearing the talk of the town, and just knowing the run around here, I didn't expect De Nada to have cheap tacos. $5.50 for the chicken taco is a little hard to justify, and $7.75 for barbacoa is intense, but everything hit the spot, and we rolled out spending about $50 plus tip between the two of us, so it wasn't anything too out of the ordinary for a lunch. I just do think going in with the expectation that it's those Austin prices, you'll be less shocked down the stretch, and if you're less shocked, you can actually enjoy the great food they throw down here. RIYL: Blue tacos and pink cups

The rules here are insanely weird here. We (3 people) came and ordered, over time, two small…read moremargaritas and one large margarita. They kept telling us we had hit the limit of how many drinks we can have. The limit is two large margaritas per person. All of the cups were on the table, so it was very easy to see that two of the ladies had had two small margaritas and I had had one large margarita. Despite the physical evidence of this, they kept saying they needed to check their order. Well, we would also like them to check the order if they were planning to charge everyone for two large margaritas! Then some friends joined us and the staff said there was a two hour limit to our table. We said we had four new people joining, who were going to order food and drinks, and could we stay with them? They continued to insist that we needed to close out because we had hit the limit, which we hadn't, and then wouldn't let us add chairs to the table. But then they made us move tables to a different section. Now they have still not taken a new drink order because they are claiming we hit the limit that we haven't hit. It's a Wednesday night and there are plenty of open tables and no one with me is actually drunk. What is happening here?

NOTES: - Reservations: available on OpenTable - Parking: small lot next to the building but free street parking is also available nearby - Happy hour: Monday through Friday until 6:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00 pm, and all night every Thursday - Online ordering: available on their website through ToastTab for pickup only THE HIGHS: - I had a reservation for 8:00 pm on a Saturday night, arrived at 7:50 pm, and got seated right away - Service was great and food came out quickly - Everything is very shareable so you can order a lot of different things to try - The homemade ranch is AMAZING! THE LOWS: - The bar was backed up so it took about 15 minutes to get an iced tea - Soft drinks aren't refillable ($4 for a single can of Diet Coke is pretty crazy) THE PRICE: The pricing is reasonable for other similar pizza places in Austin. - Diet Coke ($4) - Iced tea ($4.50) - Italian sandwich ($19) - Big Bad Wolf pizza ($21) - Hot Boy Summer pizza ($21) - Ricotta added to pizza ($4) - Side of ranch ($1) The total was $82.87 after tax ($6.13) but before tip. (We also ordered the warm seeded focaccia for $7 but weren't charged for it) BEST BITES: - Warm seeded focaccia: the whipped honey garlic butter that comes on the side is PHENOMENAL! I could eat it with a spoon! - Italian sandwich: One of my favorite Italian sandwiches ever! The bread is soft but holds up, the spicy capicola and spicy giardiniera add the perfect little kiss of heat, and the marinated mozzarella is thick and delicious! THE VERDICT: This was my first time at Loudmouth and I had a good experience overall. I came excited to try the pizza but was a little underwhelmed... the char from the wood-fired oven is delicious but the actual dough doesn't have much flavor. There are a lot of pizza places I prefer in Austin. HOWEVER, the Italian sandwich was phenomenal and I would come back just for that! Overall, I'd recommend Loudmouth to others but would suggest trying some of the menu items other than just pizza.

Starting with the choka, it was very acidic and tasted like a vegetarian ceviche. Very tasty with the plantain chips! I do wish there was some more variety in the boar dish(like some veggies) and towards the end I wss getting a little tired of the flavor. It was intense and tasted like molasses.
