This review is about my second visit to Revolution Vegan Kitchen, a vegan food truck I discovered a while back. On my first visit, I was exploring vegan options near me, and since this spot is about a 10-20 minute drive from home, I decided to give it a try. I ordered a vegan burger and really enjoyed it, which made me curious to come back and try more items from their menu. My second visit was for a late lunch after a long drive back from San Antonio. Unlike my first visit, which was on a weekend, this was a Friday afternoon. Parking was more difficult this time since the daycare lot next door was full. I eventually found a spot near the food trucks, but it's something to keep in mind depending on the day and time. It was a particularly hot day, and I had planned to grab my food to go and eat in the car while taking a call. There weren't many customers around, but I got in line right after a group that had placed a large order. It looked like there was only one person working in the truck, so the service was understandably slow. I was getting pretty hungry and a little impatient--especially as I overheard the group jokingly trying to get the worker to stop and come sit with them, even though he clearly had other orders to take care of. That felt a bit inconsiderate. After about a 20-minute wait, I finally got my order: a vegan crunchwrap with fries. I ate it in the car and thoroughly enjoyed it. The crunchwrap had a lot of soy crumbles, which was fine, but I think it could've used more sauce to balance it out and enhance the flavor. Overall, despite the wait and minor frustrations, I'll definitely keep coming back to Revolution Vegan Kitchen. Running a fully vegan food business--especially in Austin, where you'd think vegan spots would thrive--isn't easy, so I want to support them whenever I can. That said, I do hope service can be a little more efficient in the future. read more

Fast, affordable, and delicious vegan food! I'm always on the lookout for new vegan or vegetarian options and Austin has so many options. I'm glad I grabbed dinner here one night it did not disappoint. A lot of flavor, unique combos, I tried a few different things just to try them. As a fairly new vegan, I'm always excited to try new places around the city to see they are different. Takes on vegan cuisine. This is a food truck located a food truck park, which was very cool because I got to see a lot of different places that have lots of different food selections! Perfect place to visit with friends and family who have different food taste and come sit outside to enjoy a nice summer day. I appreciated the service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful when it came to picking different options on the menu. I tried two different things the Vaquero burger and the buffalo chicken wrap both come with french fries which I always love. After ordering you give them their your phone number and they'll send you a text when your food is ready (it was a hot day so happy I could wait in the car). Overall, the food was pretty good. I really enjoyed the buffalo wrap. I think the burger could've had a little more barbecue sauce to really bring out that barbecue flavor but overall really good place to try and I'm excited to come back again. read more

Not only is this vegan food DELICIOUS, affordable, and located in a very beautiful green outdoor food truck park- but the owner is seriously so generous. Super friendly. And I love that they use a text service to let you know when to pick up your food. It's too hot in Austin to be waiting around like that lol. Quietly serving up comfort food classics like burgers, mac and cheese, tacos, and onion rings, you're guaranteed a solid, satisfying vegan meal every time. The Big Mak really tastes exactly like a double decker fast food burger, juicy and nicely seared, and topped with gooey cheese. The fries deserve a shout out too since I usually hate crinkle cut, but these are genuinely crispy and well seasoned. I have always been happy with the veggie burgers here. I just discovered the new addition - the Big Mak. I would just have it without the middle slice of bread. Definitely don't miss out on the fries and onion rings. They are, hands down, the best in town! mostly good but a couple little things i don't like. so far i've had the mac, burger, fries, fettuccine, and corn riblets. everything was good! the pastas are creamy, solid burger and fries, and the corn riblets were amazinggg especially the dipping sauce. however, i was caught by surprise by the scallion garnish on both of the pastas and the sautéed onion on the fettuccine. it wasn't shown on the pictures or mentioned in the description so make sure you add a note if you don't like that! read more

TL;DR: There was a staple in my wrap and I almost ate it. So I was sitting there on my couch kind of enjoying my buffalo chicken wrap and watching the final episode of Utopia when I feel a bone crunch in my mouth. I think, puzzled, what kind of realistic vegan chicken are they using... I keep chewing and contemplate swallowing but the crunchy "bone" doesn't break. I was finally able to check this place out. They are located in a cute food truck park with a play area for kids and sometimes have live music. They have a small menu of tacos and burgers but everything is vegan! We tried the burgers but defiantly to go back for some tacos. Came by here for dinner a few weeks ago when the bf and I were in town. This food truck shares the lot with a couple of other trucks, including an Italian food truck and what appeared to be a salon on wheels. There's also a trailer for the bathrooms, which was much, much nicer than having to go to a port-a-john. I decided to try out 3 of their tacos: the al pastor, the carnitas, and the al pastor. I also got a side of their mac and cheese to share with the bf, while he got a taco of his own. While the tacos I got were quite good, I thought they all tasted a little too similar to one another. The mac and cheese was okay, but kind of on the bland side. The bf enjoyed his taco, though, and I did, overall, enjoy my meal, even if they were a little hard to differentiate from one another. I usually don't write reviews, but felt very compelled to do so this time around. First off, I am vegan, I have been for 2 + years and I cook at home 6 days out of the week. On that one off day that I wanted to eat out, I came across this food truck, and when I saw that it was full vegan, my heart instantly skipped a beat. I ordered the buffalo wrap and it came with curly fries and also a watermelon lime aguas frescas drink (separately). What I got instead was a wrap filled with cheese, tomato and lettuce. I kept eating thinking that the buffalo flavor would burst through, but it never did. Also, the fries are not fresh. They come frozen from HEB. The only good thing to me was the watermelon aguas fresca. For the $15 price tag, I could have just gone to Sprouts or Whole Foods and made this "meal" , myself. Which is exactly what I ended up doing after eating here. The cook has a good idea that just needs to be fine tuned. Being vegan is about eating flavorful,fresh and animal-cruelty free. I am within walking distance to this food truck area, and I'm so thankful. Vegan Revolution Kitchen is always something so crave, and while it's a pretty Deep South food truck DON'T. SLEEP. ON. IT. I always get the Texan & my husband laughs at me for 85% of the time getting the same thing, but whatever. It's good & I know what I like Also, the people who work there are super friendly and quick at getting your order out! Oh, did I mention it was 100% vegan too? This place has amazing tacos. I tried the new breakfast taco and the al pastor taco and I loved them both! I ordered 2 tacos to go to give to my husband. I ordered him the shrimp and the carnitas. He ended up not coming home until way late so I ate his tacos to lol! All four were really good! My favorite were the jack fruit al pastor and carnitas tacos! I will definitely come here again! The guy that runs the truck is super nice. I think he runs the truck by himself and this truck was the busiest one when I came to visit. I was really excited to try this place because I was craving comfort food. I am a vegan, and wanted to try their notzarella sticks. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday around 3 and the park was empty. Definitely wish the atmosphere was more lively. I asked the man for the notzeralla sticks, and before I could say anything else he said "is that it?", like he was very inconvenienced. After I went on to order another 3 items, he said "speak up, I can't hear you". Nobody has ever had a problem hearing me. I'm agitated so I slowly repeat every item, as he rolls his eyes at me. The buffalo wrap was the best item we tried. Sticks weren't bad. However, you can tell everything is store bought and could easily be made at home. We couldnt finish any of it, because the taste got worse as we ate. After my boyfriend and I left, we shortly began feeling bad. Not a food borne illness, but the food didn't sit well. Visited again this morning for their brunch specials. It was quite busy and I could tell the wait would probably be long from the amount of customers they had, as any rational person would think of course. The customer service was great, very friendly and warm. Was told the wait would be 30 minutes or so but saw that they might be a little overwhelmed with the orders. Myself and many others patiently waited, unfortunately there was a customer that decided to be very rude to the staff because she had to wait longer. I definitely feel bad for the staff that had to endure her behavior while they were working hard to get orders out.
