The salt and pepper fried calamari is to die for! Beyond delicious. It was a little too much salt which took away from some of the taste. The serving size was great for two people. The passion fruit tea was delicious as well! I wish I asked for another cup of it. The waitress said it was to cleanse your pallet. The lychee martini was good but not my fav. It was not as sweet as the waitress said it would be but I think others would enjoy it.

My friends and I had a fun time at Mr. H! We stopped by late on a weekend and primarily went there for drinks, so I can't speak much on the food. We got a golden panda bowl to share, which was pretty strong but still nice and fruity, exactly what we wanted for a shareable drink! We also got some pork belly buns, which was overpriced, but still delicious.

This is a cool place in the seaport that has cool bites and drinks. If you are looking for authentic dim sum, this is not it. The food came fast and fun to try out. The service is fast and food came out quick. The soup dumplings were decent. I give the food 7/10. The prices are way more than a real dim sum place in Chinatown

Was this the coolest place we stopped in Boston, yeah maybe. We came after dinner for cocktails and were so surprised by this wildly cool vibe just in what seems like a random corner restaurant. The cocktails were fun and different on top of being delicious. The bartender was so nice and helpful with suggestions and explanations. Our only regret is being too full to try the food because no doubt it was incredible.

My first time at Mr. H, and I had a great time. I tried their Kyoto Midnight cocktail, and it was my favorite.

This is one of the coolest restaurants I've been to in Boston. Highly recommend coming here with a lot of people and sharing a bunch of delicious food! We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and had a wonderful experience. The service was fantastic- the waitstaff took their time to explain dishes to us and made my friend's birthday very special. It was not only dinner, it was an event. We shared a bunch of dishes: Krab Rangoon, Bang Bang Noodles, Cucumber Salad, Fried Rice, Soup Dumplings, Steak & Chicken Fingers. Everything was delicious. My top three favorite dishes were the Cucumbers, Fried Rice, and Chicken Fingers. The cucumber salad will rock your world! It's so fresh and flavorful with tang and schezuan. The Bang Bang Noodles and Fried Rice were excellent, a nice contrast between a cold and hot carb dish. The chicken fingers were golden and the steak was so tender. The only thing is that I wish the portions were a bit bigger, but you can always order more. We ended the night with their strawberry shortcake and ice cream which was fantastic. They brought out the food to us in 3 shifts so we had a great time trying everything and chatting in between sessions. Highly recommend this spot for a fun dinner with friends.

This is an upscale chinese/japanese fusion restauraunt. All plates are shareable and the cocktails are delicious and decorated beautifully or given a touch of magic. Our bartender was on point with attentiveness and drinks and not bad to look at . The ambiance was beautiful with big open windows during the summer nights. The DJ played chill lounge vibes and chill beats and the music was loud and vibrant and it just made you to be part of the experience. It was loud but you could still hold conversation and hear eachother which was a plus. I'd recommend reserving a table. They start you off with complimentary plum hibiscus lemon tea that was so delicious! Eveything we ate was delicious. I just have one suggestion for the crab rangoons which were delicious but if you can have a sweet dipping sauce instead of the aeoli that would be best. Overall, all dishes had flavor, they were freshly made and light, great ingredients, and presentation beautiful. The service is excellent. If you have a birthday here the desserts and presentation are a wow factor!!!! This place is a must try. I will be coming back!

Of all the restaurants we tried during our recent trip to Boston, Mr. H was our favorite. My husband was skeptical about trying it as he thought some of the menu items were unusual. When he took a closer look, he saw that many items were worth trying. The ambiance definitely says "Chinese restaurant" in an upscale sort of way. Mr. H serves small plates (think "Chinese tapas"). We went on a weeknight when they open at 5 p.m. and were immediately seated and greeted. Our server was friendly, efficient, and well-versed regarding the menu. He told us that for two people, three to four small plates would be just right. We quickly found ourselves in agreement on which three items to order. There's a section of the menu that lists Polynesian-inspired items. From that section, we ordered "Crab Rangoons" which consist of: "charred scallion cream cheese, jalapeno, hot sweet and sour sauce, sesame". The Crab Rangoons were huge! Never have I seen any so big. We were given four of them. Despite having jalapenos in the mix, they weren't overly spicy, which was fine with us. They came to the table piping hot. We also ordered "chicken fingers," which were also listed in the Polynesian section of the menu. They consist of: "Bob Lee's batter, Mr. H duck sauce, Chinese hot mustard, Sichuan pepper salt". I guess that the batter got its name from the long-defunct Bob Lee's Islander, which was in Chinatown. These chicken fingers were quite plump. I remarked to my husband that they looked like little corn dogs. They, too, arrived piping hot. We both availed ourselves of the dipping sauces, all of which were quite good. For the third plate, we got "Mushroom fried rice" which consists of: "smoked basmati, king trumpet, wood ear and shiitake, ong choy (which I found out is also called "water spinach" in Mandarin Chinese) sprouts, eggs and Yuxiang garlic sauce." This rice was amazing. It was fluffy and moist with all the flavors working very well together. After we placed our order, our server asked if we would like some hot tea. I said "yes". At first, my husband said "no" because he had ordered a Tsingtao non-alcoholic beer. When I told him how much I was enjoying the Milky Oolong tea, he asked if we could share it - of course, we could and did. This is a very mild tea that has no bitterness. We both liked it so much that when we got home, we ordered some online. It just came today, and we look forward to brewing it. We didn't have any dessert so we can't speak to that. Both of us felt we had had enough to eat. We would gladly come back here next time we're in town. The restaurant prepares food for the eye as well as the palate.

6/24/26: Mr. H has been on my list since they opened, so we finally made it over on June 24th for a 7 PM dinner. The dining room definitely lives up to the hype. It's dark, energetic, and feels like you're stepping into a modern Shanghai cocktail lounge rather than a typical Chinese restaurant. It was busy but never felt overwhelming, making it a great spot for a group dinner or a night out. We decided to share just about everything on the menu, and that's definitely the way to experience this place. We started with the Tangerine Tuna, which was one of my favorite dishes of the night. The mandarin, peanuts, and spicy mayo gave it a bright, refreshing flavor that was different from the usual tuna crudo. The Spicy Salmon Puffs were another standout with a fun combination of crispy rice puffs, spicy salmon, and a touch of honey. We also ordered the Crab Rangoons, Scallion Pancake, Pan Fried Pork Dumplings, Wang Shou Wings, and Pork Belly Buns. The rangoons had a perfectly crispy shell with a creamy filling, while the scallion pancake disappeared almost immediately thanks to the house dipping sauce. The pork belly buns were rich and packed with flavor, and the wings had a unique dry spice blend with just enough heat to keep you reaching for another. For the larger plates, we shared the Dandan Noodles, House Fried Rice, Cantonese Fried Chicken, and the whole soy chicken noodle platter. The fried rice was probably the biggest surprise of the night. It's easy to overlook a fried rice on a menu this large, but it was incredibly flavorful and one of the dishes everyone kept going back for. The Dandan noodles were rich with a nutty sesame-peanut sauce and just enough chili oil to give them some kick. The Cantonese fried chicken was perfectly crispy without feeling greasy, and the soy chicken platter was ideal for sharing with the table. The cocktail program deserves a mention too. We tried the Paper Crane, Mr. H Mai Tai, and White Dragon before finishing the night with the Hibiki Harmony whiskey, which was presented in a really fun smoked tableside display that made for a memorable ending to the meal. The cocktails were creative without being overcomplicated and fit the vibe of the restaurant perfectly. Overall, Mr. H delivers more than just good food. The atmosphere, presentation, cocktails, and shareable menu make it a place that's meant to be experienced with friends. I'd recommend coming with a group so you can order across the menu instead of sticking to just a couple of dishes. It's not an inexpensive dinner, but for a special night out in the Seaport, I thought it was well worth it.

Ordered Mr. H on my way home from work for pickup and was disappointed with everything except the sushi. Shrimps are really small but are shelled for you. There are barely walnuts in this 'Walnut Honey Shrimp'. This dish is also traditionally served with rice but you do not get any. Restaurants that cheap out on basic starches like bread or rice n flip the few cents that it costs on the customer, always leave a bad taste in my mouth. Lobster dish was also advertised to be 1 and 1/4 of lobster. Also drastically different lobster portion than the picture the business lists on their delivery apps. Service at the restaurant was great. Employees are super nice. Food tastes decent. Sushi was great.

We came here on a whim, not knowing how cool this place is. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with meticulous detail, our waiter was very cordial and gave us great recommendations. We had the Hunan steak over noodles, chicken tenders (which was more like a hot dog on a stick style) and garlic noodles. Everything was 100%. We also got a complimentary cake because the food service was a bit behind. Would definitely recommend!

We were happy to get a last min rez for my hubby's birthday. It wasn't super crowded which we expected cause it was a Monday. Upon walking in the host was super friendly and the decor is striking. We were seated right away. It didn't take long for our server to offer us water. We ordered a couple of cocktails-they were tasty. The food options were interesting. We ordered the spicy cucumbers to start and they were delicious. For dinner we shared the house fried rice (I ordered the mushroom fried rice but they brought the wrong one and I didn't want to deal with it) and the chicken dumplings. My hubby ordered the lobster too. Everything was tasty. I ordered the cake to go and it was sooooo good. I'm giving Mr. H 4 stars cause of the service. It was pretty slow. I even had to ask for more water, I know - what a travesty. It seemed like there was one server for the entire restaurant although several staff were standing nearby. I get that the restaurant wasn't super busy but still. I did appreciate that we weren't rushed out of there tho. We would def go back again. When you're in the area, check it out for yourself. It's a pretty popular spot.

After a night of drinking, my friends wanted to eat here. It was my first time and I really love the decor (don't like it dark, but nice otherwise). Hien was super awesome, I asked her to pick out a drink for me, Hong Kong Tea. It was nice and strong. Then got me the Mushroom Cheung Fun, which I was afraid to be vegan for the night, but she added the Siu Mei Steak. This helped alot and really added flavor to the cheung fun (please make a steak version!). Definitely plan to be back, but early enough to see some light.

On the way to Boston by train from New York, I read an article of great bars in all of America, and the Wig Shop had made their list. I showed my gal as we were in route to Boston, and we agreed that Karma was leading us there. I checked about a reservation, but ended up going over early to try and beat the walk in crowd. That worked out great, we had almost no wait. The place was full. There were alot of people enjoying the food menu, which we didn't plan on since we had dinner reservations elsewhere for later. But we got a couple of drinks. There are many types of speakeasies. The Wig Shop is one of favorite kinds, classy. The drinks were alcohol forward, with elegant presentations. It was perfect. It was nice that the universe pointed us towards this great Boston spot.
