mediterrean chopped salad, crispy shrimp bao buns, cantonese chicken lettuce cups
    Nina N.

i was expecting more from this place as it has received high praise in the past. the food wasn't bad but disappointed by the quality given that you're paying high prices... lettuce cups -- saltier than i would've liked but good mediterranean salad -- this was actually quite good, i enjoyed this a lot crispy shrimp baos -- they skimped on the shrimp, there were only 2 pieces per bao. the bread itself was TOO soft in texture, it fell apart immediately lobster toro roll -- good but too much rice was used the service was decent. it initially took awhile to get seated because the host was nowhere to be found

Not too long ago I visited lola 42 with my wife for dinner after seeing it on social media. We made a reservation which was very useful since there were tons of people waiting and standing at the bar. We were placed in the back corner which was nice since there were so many young professionals at the bar. (Sometimes getting a bit too close and crowding the area). Still able to hear and talk luckily. Waiter was fabulous with good recommendations and fairly consistent check ins during the meal. Food itself was very delicious. We tried a number of the menu items and all were well made and had really good flavor. I really enjoyed my pasta and their fries which I had heard good things about. Overall a really nice spot, a bit loud and crowded due to our proximity to the bar, but great food, music, and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and return!

First time coming here on Sunday and really enjoyed their BOGO sushi deal. Their menu offers a variety of specialty rolls and every roll we ordered was absolutely amazing. Four rolls were perfect for two people sharing.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Lola 42! We started with the poke nachos and the crab Rangoon, plus the Puddle Jumper cocktail for my boyfriend. All were terrific. I loved that the nachos came with both tuna and salmon--super generous portions, and honestly the best poke nachos I've had on the East Coast. The crab Rangoon were also delicious: light, flavorful, and paired with an addictive dipping sauce. For mains, I ordered the salmon lo mein and my boyfriend had the beef bulgogi. Both dishes came with the same noodles and were good, hearty portions, though nothing mind-blowing. Definitely on the very expensive side for what they are. Fair warning: the beef bulgogi is very spicy. For dessert, we shared the Basque cheesecake. The real standout, though, was the pistachio gelato with lemon curd that came with it. I had no idea that pairing could taste so incredible! Overall, a great meal with some real highlights--we'd definitely come back, but might stick to apps, drinks, and dessert next time.

We loved this place! I made reservations around 9:15 for an night cap after walking around the seaport and it was great! We had crab Rangoon, a Snow mountain sushi roll and 2 drinks and a mock-tail. Everything was delish! the vibe was nice. it was dark inside with dim lighting at your table. Music is playing. They have these very long curtain drapes to separate the area around the bar which I thought was really cool. I would def go back for a date night. Our waitress was was very helpful and nice. She checked on us as needed. It was a little hard to find for us. It is on the if a hotel/dealership. We had to ask where it was located and we had walked by it. there is a sign up above once you find it.

The vibes were great and the service was lovely, aside from half the service team seeing this meat and doing nothing about it. Granted, I ordered the burger rare, but at no other restaurant have I been served raw ground beef (I order all burgers and steak rare). As stated, our server plus multiple other servers saw this, and took no issue with it ‍ my friends enjoyed their sushi but I would not go here for a burger or if you do please order it well done.

If you're looking for a spot in Boston's Seaport with killer Asian fusion vibes, Lola 42 is where it's at. It's right by the water and offers a hip and fun atmosphere that's hard to beat. On my last visit, I dove into one of their sushi rolls, and just what you'd expect from a top-notch sushi spot. But the real deal dish is their shrimp and crab fried rice. It's a massive bowl brimming with rich flavors and generous chunks of seafood. Trust me, finishing it in one sitting is a challenge, but hey, that just means you've got lunch sorted out for tomorrow. The service was top tier and I really want to go back to try the tuna burger. Looked interesting to me.

Made reservations before a concert at Leader Pavilion. Great location within walking distance. We really wanted to love it but it fell short. Service was good. The food was disappointingly average. We shared a few rolls along with crispy tuna rice and the nachos. Not terrible but not outstanding. The nachos were pretty salty. We wanted dessert but the options were definitely not Asian Fusion. It was very loud - couldn't really hear our own conversation over those at the very close tables on both sides of us. At one point they turned the lights down so much that we thought the power went out- around 7pm. It was crowded and busy-perhaps we had a random off night experience.

    Sushi options

Sitting outside allowed for easy conversation, view of the water, nice feel of the cool weather. Service was top notch from the hostess to the waiter. Nice variety of items to choose from on the menu.

First of all the hostesses have an attitude problem and act like they own the place, not accommodating at all and they are not friendly. Will never dine there even if they paid me to.

I had a great dinner here! The patio is so cute and has a great sunset view. I got the TKO cocktail to drink and it was delicious and beautifully garnished with a flower. To eat I got the snowy mountain and baby kale salad. The snowy mountain was really excellent sushi. There was a slight hiccup in our service but our waitress more than compensated. Overall Lola 42 is a really great classy restaurant!

The BOGO sushi is a good deal but will say the rolls are overpriced for what they are, super small and would not be worth over $100 for 4 rolls if we didn't get BOGO. Nice location right on the water but not anything that I would go out of my way to go again. I feel i'd rather get better priced and curated rolls elsewhere even if it's a bit pricier than the bogo

It was quite busy due to the tall ships on a beautiful and sunny Saturday afternoon, but I was happy to have made reservations a week prior. This restaurant is known for an eclectic Asian seafood cuisine, but they also have a few meat options such as a duck breast which was recommended for larger parties to share. Since it was just the two of us, we did have some cocktails which I thought were OK not great. What we did enjoy were the Japanese fried chicken, I highly recommend this and it was perfect for two people to share. The pan roasted dayboat scallops were also delicious but a little bit on the salty side, and the roasted beet salad was also good, but lacked some savory notes. Due to the unexpected wait, they actually comped our dessert which was very nice of them. Overall, I did enjoy this restaurant and really liked the view of the tall ships. I think if we decided to come again, we would probably come back on either a weeknight or maybe in the fall/winter. It can be pretty expensive as well but I do feel this restaurant is of quality. However, when a place starts to think that they no longer exist to serve customers but rather that customers are lucky to eat here they will quickly go down hill-- frankly a sign that it already has. Arrogance is rarely rewarded in this industry. And this place is not good enough to be arrogant. The pluses do not outweigh the minuses. Our other opted to go off on his own. We ate. The food is wildly overpriced. $9 for 2 slices of a baguette with tomato puree. I make this at home and the food cost is about $0.75. The other items weren't quite as absurdly priced but I found the pricing for the pan con tomate idiotic. The food was solid overall, not amazing. The service was okay from the waitstaff but somewhat intermittent. The experience overall left a bad taste in my mouth. I was happy when it was over. To add insult to injury they allow smoking on the sidewalk tables and the people next to us were smoking something pretty vile from a vape pen.
