    Snow mountain roll, crab rangoon
    Arelis L.

We loved this place! I made reservations around 9:15 for an night cap after walking around the seaport and it was great! We had crab Rangoon, a Snow mountain sushi roll and 2 drinks and a mock-tail. Everything was delish! the vibe was nice. it was dark inside with dim lighting at your table. Music is playing. They have these very long curtain drapes to separate the area around the bar which I thought was really cool. I would def go back for a date night. Our waitress was was very helpful and nice. She checked on us as needed. It was a little hard to find for us. It is on the if a hotel/dealership. We had to ask where it was located and we had walked by it. there is a sign up above once you find it.

The vibes were great and the service was lovely, aside from half the service team seeing this meat and doing nothing about it. Granted, I ordered the burger rare, but at no other restaurant have I been served raw ground beef (I order all burgers and steak rare). As stated, our server plus multiple other servers saw this, and took no issue with it ‍ my friends enjoyed their sushi but I would not go here for a burger or if you do please order it well done.

If you're looking for a spot in Boston's Seaport with killer Asian fusion vibes, Lola 42 is where it's at. It's right by the water and offers a hip and fun atmosphere that's hard to beat. On my last visit, I dove into one of their sushi rolls, and just what you'd expect from a top-notch sushi spot. But the real deal dish is their shrimp and crab fried rice. It's a massive bowl brimming with rich flavors and generous chunks of seafood. Trust me, finishing it in one sitting is a challenge, but hey, that just means you've got lunch sorted out for tomorrow. The service was top tier and I really want to go back to try the tuna burger. Looked interesting to me.

Made reservations before a concert at Leader Pavilion. Great location within walking distance. We really wanted to love it but it fell short. Service was good. The food was disappointingly average. We shared a few rolls along with crispy tuna rice and the nachos. Not terrible but not outstanding. The nachos were pretty salty. We wanted dessert but the options were definitely not Asian Fusion. It was very loud - couldn't really hear our own conversation over those at the very close tables on both sides of us. At one point they turned the lights down so much that we thought the power went out- around 7pm. It was crowded and busy-perhaps we had a random off night experience.

I had a great dinner here! The patio is so cute and has a great sunset view. I got the TKO cocktail to drink and it was delicious and beautifully garnished with a flower. To eat I got the snowy mountain and baby kale salad. The snowy mountain was really excellent sushi. There was a slight hiccup in our service but our waitress more than compensated. Overall Lola 42 is a really great classy restaurant!

Always love going here for date night. Good ambience and very flavorful Japanese food the spicy beef noodles are always a hit and the poke nachos melt in your mouth. So good!! Fun cocktails too.

The BOGO sushi is a good deal but will say the rolls are overpriced for what they are, super small and would not be worth over $100 for 4 rolls if we didn't get BOGO. Nice location right on the water but not anything that I would go out of my way to go again. I feel i'd rather get better priced and curated rolls elsewhere even if it's a bit pricier than the bogo

Sushi is expensive so I recommend to get other things as well if you are going for that

When a local foodie, who I really respect, tells you that LoLa 42 serves Boston's best sushi, you follow up. Can't say if it's the best, but it made for a most satisfying lunch on a Saturday. Our server who was also the bartender, mixes up some very creative craft cocktails. For starters, time for sushi. The Hola Sake and Snowy Mountainn rolls were delish. Since I was on a sushi mission, I ordered the Sushi Bistro Box. With its small containers for different entrees, it packs lots of flavors and textures. This and the Bistro Bemto allow you to sample many items on the menu. As I shared before, they serve great cocktails, but at $20 a piece, that adds up, even at lunch. Our lunch for three before tip was $276.

It pains me to write this review. I had been looking forward to this res for days, heard great things from friends, only to be absolutely baffled by its complete mediocrity. Don't get me wrong, the food is perfectly fine, but theres restaurants 15 mins way that have a better atmosphere, inarguably better sushi, and much more reasonable prices that I would pick over this any day. For all its hype as the new chic restaurant in town, the vibes really emulated a hotel restaurant. the fish was fresh, but was the "specialty" roll that just had an extra slice of tuna on top worth $25? Was the watery marg pretty but worth $20???ABSOLUTELY NOT! I would say go for the vibes, but there are none... so maybe just go if someone else is paying...

I had a reservation at Lola 42 on a Friday night during graduation season, we walked through the curtains in the front to an expansive dining room with a great view of the water. Our party of 2 was seated at the sushi bar and after several minutes we noticed an off-putting odor, similar to that of a public restroom. It wasn't bad enough to ask for a change of seating but it did hinder our experience slightly. Our waiter introduced herself and took our drink order, I settled on a refreshing craft beer from Japan that was light and crisp. There was a wide variety of pan-asian dishes, elevated American classics and sushi options but we decided on sharing a few appetizers and sushi rolls. The first things that appeared was the toro tartare, which was served in a sesame cannoli shell and it was a great bite. Next came the poke nachos, which was four large wonton chips that was topped with tuna, avocado crema, eel sauce and greens. Both appetizers were tasty but we felt that the value wasn't there for either. Lastly we ordered two of their speciality rolls, which was good but unremarkable compared to other sushi restaurants in Boston.

THE Asian infusion food spot of BOSTON! Do yourself a favor and go in make sure to leave a review cause the amounts of reviews they have don't give them justice!!!! I've been on the search for a high end Asian food type of vibes ! No disrespect to Mr.H but just didn't make the list & I've had philippe chow in different states, Sei Less, Jue Lan in NY so that's my list! But in my home town didn't have a spot. I went in with an open mind especially cause the reviews didn't have many. But this is totally the right place for my vibes ! I'm happy I went in and tested it! Everything was great, do yourself a favor & order the Garlic Shrimp & the rice and make sure to combine it ! The king crab ragoons were a HIT especially with the sauce!

We were crammed in the corner of the bar where we had to constantly tuck our arms in as the wait staff walked by with food and drinks for patrons of the restaurant. I also got the lovely view of the waitress area. Not exactly a mood setting location. Plus, our table was so tiny we could barely fit two dishes at a time and had to figure out how to keep our cocktails on the table. Also didn't help that I was tucked in because the table next to us was back to back with me. Also, had to listen to the man's obnoxiously loud conversation behind us because we were packed like sardines in the bar area. We booked a comfy table for my friend's bday dinner and they gave us a crappy bar table. I was very disappointed and displeased. Also, my high top chair was missing a leg cover and was super wobbly. I asked the manager about switching chairs and she said she would bring a new chair for me. She never did. I ended up switching my own chair with one from the bar. Not something I should have to do for a place that charged about $30 per "tapas" plate. We did bring this to the manager's attention at the end of our meal at which point we were just ready to leave. It was by far the most uncomfortable I have ever been at a supposedly higher end restaurant. The manager said if she had known sooner, she would've done something to rectify it. Almost sounded like she blamed us for not telling her soon. Although she was very well aware that they had screwed up some reservations. She should've fixed it then when she came around asking our name that was on our reservation to ensure they had marked their books correctly. She knew then that they had made a mistake but did nothing to fix it. And she was running around like crazy and our multiple attempts to get her attention during our short dinner there went unnoticed. Trust me, we tried to get her attention. So, I'm not taking the blame for their mistake. Sure she comped some food but $90 for a crappy experience still feels like a waste of time and money. We ended up walking over to Tuscan Kitchen to get a cocktail and ended up with a much better drink, much better service and actual room to breathe. Will be skipping Nautilus in the future and recommend you do the same.

They also had a "halvsies" menu of half-size portions (ideal portions for one or two diners). Started with the Mama Chang Pork Dumplings, which were excellent, and the cauliflower appetizer (a little spicy, but very good). Liked the udon noodles with chicken and bok choy, although a little less red chili pepper would have suited my tastes better (good for those who like a bit of zing to their food). The lettuce wrap chicken was well worth the 20-minute wait. Finished with the lemon ginger mousse, which was very light. The fortune cookie on the mousse was fresh and crisp, so good that some thought it might have been baked at Joanne Chang's Flour Cafe and Bakery. The finish was extra nice, with a red lucky envelope with chocolates accompanying the check, an orange at each table (signs for good fortune in the New Year), and red decorations hanging in the restaurant to create a festive setting. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share between the 4 of us - scallion pancake, bourbon chicken wings, spicy salmon rolls, pork belly buns, sliced beef, eggplant, hot n sour soup, golden potato and lemongrass soup. I think my favorite of those was the eggplant dish - perfectly cooked and flavorful with ginger and soy. Wings were good too. The soups were nice I liked the hot n sour one. The lemongrass soup was a creamy one quite tasty but also quite filling and rich. For entrees, we ordered the roasted soy glazed salmon, the Indonesian fried rice, bok choy and surf and turf noodles. Everything was good. We were all so full and also had leftovers. But decided to order dessert too - everyone loved the vanilla bean ice cream (the menu described it as a parfait) with orange granita - really generous too - 3 scoops of ice cream and the orange sorbet which was more granular than a sorbet more like very finely crushed ice. Very refreshing! The banana caramel crème brûlée was really good too - nice and creamy. The lemon ginger mousse was very creamy but I thought had a bit too much of ginger. I think the deserts were hands down everyone's favorite part of the meal despite everyone pretty much denying they wanted any! Service was very friendly by our server Julie who was delightful! Lovely young lady. Overall great experience!!

When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. The restaurant had an elegant and refined ambiance, and the service was attentive, making it a very relaxing place.

WOW! An awesome experience!!! I went here for my birthday…read morewith my parents and boyfriend, and this had been on my want to go list for years, and I am so glad I can finally cross it off! When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!

This place is popping! Even though it was later in the evening, the restaurant was still really full. However we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. I loved the decor in here, such neat details and even a column with a dragon on it! So cool. It's a dark restaurant so it was hard to read the menu, but otherwise, it's a very cool vibe here and feels very lounge-y. Our server was awesome, he was friendly and explained the restaurant style to us - it's like tapas, you order a few items to share and recommended 2 - 3 items per person would be sufficient. It was only 2 of us and we shared 3 items total, and that was more than enough. We apparently arrived so late that our server informed us that we only had a short time before the kitchen was closing for the night. But he said that he would return before the kitchen closed in case we wanted to order additional menu items. We were intrigued by the Japanese/Peruvian fusion menu and tried a few things: Kuromitsu Brussel Sprouts Spicy Salmon Fritas Bo Bo Chicken I was most excited about the Bo Bo Chicken a it had a sichuan chili oil and I love spicy, but it was not spicy at all (to me). But the flavor was really good. My favorite was the Brussels sprouts. I loved the char on them and the ginger black honey on it was so good. I don't eat salmon, but my friend said the Salmon Fritas was great and really enjoyed them. I would say this was the best meal we had on our trip!
