Came here for dinner for the first time. Hubby and I ordered their hot honey chicken pita wrap, greco fries, build your own salad, and the classic loukoumades. Total came out to approximately over $40. What's Hot - Menu. Simple and straightforward. It's not a large menu and easy to figure out. - Quality. Pretty delicious, with the exception of the greco fries, which I explain below. For my build-your-own salad, I ordered spicy whipped feta as a topping, which was probably the best part of my salad. The spice doesn't hit you right away, but it's definitely spicy, which my husband and I liked, especially because we have a pretty high tolerance. My husband liked his hot honey chicken wrap. The hot honey was spicy, as well, which is a good thing, because every place is different. The loukoumades was pretty good. No skimping on the toppings. - Location. Fairly easy to find and right by the harbor. As such, it's conveniently located to other attractions, shops, and restaurants. - Price. Fairly good value for money. That we were able to order 4 dishes for approximately $40 is pretty good value. - Service. They use paper containers for the food when dining in, which I like, because it may be more environmentally friendly. There are 2 kiosks where you can order, which is pretty straight forward. What's Not - Service. My issue is about a specific incident that happened while we were there. The staffers were putting our order together at the pickup counter. As such, some items were on trays on the counter, while other items were being put together. There was another customer there, who had his large dog with him. He allowed his dog to put his head and paws on the pick up counter, where our order was being put together. None of the staffers said anything. As such, my husband instructed the other customer to take his dog off the food counter. This other customer's dog did not appear to be a service animal. The other customer responded to my husband that no one else had a problem. The main concern is sanitation. A dog is putting its head and dirty paws on the counter where food is being served. Had the dog put its head and/or dirty paws on our food, or licked our food, or made a mess, or whatever, that would have been a concern. That none of their staff said anything was not a good thing, because it directly affects food sanitation. - Quality. The greco fries are nothing to write home about. Not flavorful and did not stand out. They also skimped on the feta cheese that topped our fries. Would not order again and would not recommend. Also, a couple of the olives in my salad still had the pits in them, which I didn't like. Just something to be aware of. For the loukoumades, all the flavor came from the topping. The fried doughnut holes didn't have any flavor and we're uncertain whether that's intentional. - Portions. The portions tend to be on the smaller side. This is not a place where one dish will fill you up. Final Answer Willing to return, but not a first choice. read more

GRECO is a wonderful option to consider if you're looking for a quick yummy lunch or just a quick bite! Today we went to this location in Seaport, but they also have 4 other locations in MA & 2 locations in Washington DC (one on the way!). GRECO first started in Back Bay, on Newbury St then expanded over the years & actually the owner is behind two other great Greek establishments I've heard lovely things about, Krasi in Back Bay & Bar Vlaha in Brookline! We ordered the chicken gyro & the pork gyro to try, as well as one Bikos Cola & one Vikos Cola (essentially Diet Coke). I really liked the Greek colas, very good flavor & carbonation. As for the gyros, the chicken gyro came w/ honey mustard sauce instead of tzatziki, which was in the pork one. After trying both, I'd say I prefer the chicken one more. The pork was definitely a bit dry also. In terms of size of the gyros compared to other Greek establishments I've tried in Boston, they seemed to be smaller in portion because typically I have a hard time finishing gyros fully in one sitting but I finished this one w/ ease. Overall, I can see this being a good lunch option if you're nearby & I can see myself coming back to try their donuts!! Greco begins with a traditional take on Mediterranean with a fresh twist and an atmosphere that is as bright and relaxing as that part of the world, even with a life-sized olive tree on the walls. We enjoyed both the kababs and shawarma. The rice is fantastic and we tried their custom drinks which were refreshing an enjoyable. The pita is soft and a good accompaniment to the fresh hummus, which is just the way we like it. We would come back for sure. This was our first time so the staff was helpful as we made our choices. Quick and easy order of the: + classic pork + tzatziki meats were tender, but wish it was hotter. fries could have been crispier a great Gryo! + truly Greek chicken the honey mustard slapped on this! Very cool Mediterranean place with an average selection of veggie options. The food tasted fine, I just wish there were more vegetarian-friendly protein choices other than plant-based meat. I like to order their lamb platter (includes pita bread and a side), bifteki (ground beef) pita which includes fries, or the lamb chop feast which comes with 3 pieces of lamb, salad, fries, and pita bread. If you have a large group, the mixed grill or souvlaki platter are good combination meals that have a little bit of everything. The meat is tender, well seasoned, and packs a lot of flavor. The service here is good. The employees were nice and friendly. We asked for sauce on the side and they gave us two large sauce containers of spicy feta and tzatziki. Our food was ready within 5 minutes or so and they brought it out to our table. There are free water cups by the cash register. It's still around Christmas so they had plenty of Christmas decorations including wreaths, snowmen, and mini Christmas trees around. They also painted on the walls a realistic tree and had library decorations with a ladder near the back. They have separate male and female bathrooms that are just outside the restaurant that were clean. Parking can be tough since it's seaport but there is some street parking and some garages nearby. I stopped by after Fridays at the ICA. I ordered a lamb pita with honey mustard sauce and baklava. At first glance, my pita looked dry before I checked out so the kind server agreed to drizzle more sauce on top for me. The lamb was tender and the pita was overall delicious! I left feeling full. I took a bite of the baklava and it was sweet, dripping with honey. I ended up saving the rest and bringing the leftovers home. Bright spot in a quieter part of Seaport, right next to the Institute of Contemporary Art. This was my second time here and I enjoyed my meal. We came right after they opened on Saturday around 11 and were the only ones there. The space is light and airy, and has a good amount of seating. The service was friendly and we watched as they put together our food. We both ordered pork pita wraps, but for some reason, mine was more filled than the other. Regardless, it tasted nice and fresh. Had a thoroughly mediocre lamb gyro. Staying in the seaport district and needed a late lunch. Greco wasn't crowded (should have been red flag #1); the Tatte next door was (tempted to go to that amazing place, but did not - stupid me). This Greco location is in an odd, thin space. Very clean. Ok service. But you really just come here to get a good meal, and it was really lacking. Plenty of lamb, tomatoes, onion, and tzatziki sauce (with fries in the pita). Placed a togo order for the beef plate and based off photos I was expecting a plump beef patty. What i got was extremely thin beef. The zucchini chips did not come with tzatziki dip. I asked the worker for a fork as they were behind the counter. He points to them and says they are right there. There were forks and napkins next to the register that I didn't see. Worst gyro of my life!!! Lamb was complete Mush! If I could give it negative stars I would!!! Meat came from the vertical rotisserie at some point in the day.... I'm on a mission to find my gyro spot in Boston. The short and sweet of this review is that this place has good lamb (especially when it comes to the lamb chops), but I wouldn't bother with any other meats. I ordered via UberEats, so the food did arrive a little later than immediately fresh, for context, but my review will account for that. I've been to the Back Bay location before, but it was not that great to be honest, so I figured that I would give the Seaport location a try! (An aside, it was a bit annoying when I saw that UberEats the menu prices, so be wary). My food comprised of the Lamb Chops platter, the Lamb Gyro, and the Chicken Gyro. I also requested hot sauce which the staff gladly delivered on. Probably the best dish at Greco was the lamb chops without a doubt. I received 3 Lamb Chops, Horiatiki Salad, and Greco Fries (no Pita bread unlike what's written on their website which I just noticed). Despite it being delivery and around 35-40 minutes after ordering, the lamb chops were still soft and had a good flavor. I have had one too many lamb chops before which arrive charred and dry immediately from the kitchen so this was a welcome surprise. The fries were flavorful and I enjoyed the salad. When it came to the gyros, I was not impressed with the chicken (made of Chicken gyro, onion, tomato, honey mustard) side note: I wish there was some garlic sauce instead. I did opt out of fries because I just didn't was a bite of loaded carbs on top of my gyro. I wish there was a little more salad, given that I opted out of fries. The chicken meat was okay, nothing great but it did the job. The lamb meat was okay too, a little better than the chicken, but nowhere near as good as the lamb chops. Food: Hands down one of my favorite places in town. EVERYTHING is so good. These Spinach & Feta Spring Rolls served w/ Lemon Yogurt were DELICIOUS, I usually get a bowl. I've never tried anything which has disappointed me, all of their meats are good, chicken, lamb, even their vegetarian/veggie options (yep, I've tried them all). Their BREAD is one of their highlights too, omg hands down best pita in the world. I also love their side of beans & chickpeas. Their donuts or whatever (loukmades) are also INCREDIBLE, you can easily finish the whole thing - they are a lot tho, very sweet and all but definitely a treat. Food is alsoo fast like Chipotle style so you won't be hangry lol. Location: Seaport is a fun area. I used to intern at the building which GreCo was in, and you can get a bowl then eat it by the water or whatever because the views are stunning. Price: It's not cheap though. You won't find hummus here, instead you have better options of homemade sauces like Tzatziki, pepper paprika, lemon yogurt etc. Definitely try the mixed grill platter, lamb chops plate, chicken, and lamb gyro. The chicken also a bit too charred and the bowl overall could have used a little more flavor. But again, it was nice to have a healthy and fresh tasting meal -- I think I was just expecting the flavors of the bowls to be a bit better, like my favorite Greek bowl place in NYC. Had a delicious dinner here on our way to a show at the ICA. How nice to get a healthy, flavorful meal at the Seaport without having to spend $35 an entree at a sit-down restaurant. I was a little concerned when I saw that Tatte up the street was crowded at 5:00pm on a Saturday and there was only one other patron at Greco. Never fear, the place got super busy while we were eating. Tables were cleaning, bathroom was clean, employees were friendly and helpful. No complaints. I had a plate with gyro chicken, zucchini fritters, roasted eggplant and pita. It was delicious. The pita and eggplant were standouts. I didn't particularly love the chicken so next time I will try another protein. I'll definitely return! read more
