Shocked at how high the reviews are. This is a complete tourist trap. Very mediocre food at best and expensive. We had the fish and chips, bland and greasy, and a Cesar salad (good) and the red and white chowders. The red chowder tasted very fishy and almost like it went bad. The white chowder was bland and not very tasty at all. Only good thing about the meal was the focaccia starter. As a local, I won't be going back. Our first stop for food in the city on vacation! We got here when it opened since we were exploring, and it did not disappoint. Clam Chowder Bread Bowl was hearty, tasty and amazing. My boyfriend had the clams that came with this delicious garlic grilled toast, and the seafood chowder which he said was okay but the clams made up for it. He also had ice tea which he said was probably the best he ever had! Service was nice, our server was working a lot of the tables and when it got really busy he doubled down and made every table feel seen. a really cute little shop, get here as early as you can to beat the rush! read more

It was hustling and bustling with lots of people on a Friday afternoon. I was craving some good Fish and Chips. After walking around for about 30 mins, we stopped towards the end of the market and saw Mr. Fish. We decided to give it a try because we were getting hungry. Big Mistake!!! We ordered: Bowl of Calm Chowder: Unfortunately, it was too watery and SALTY. Taking a bite with a goldfish cracker helped a bit. Fried Calamari: it was good, but again VERY SALTY. I couldn't get the salt taste out of my mouth the whole day. Fish and Chips: I have to admit, this was good. Three big pieces of fish and fries. Flavor was good and cooked perfectly. As long-time Seattleites, my wife and I are fans of Tom Douglas restaurants and had high expectations for Mr. Fish, and while it wasn't as great as we'd hoped, it was enjoyable. We braved the peak tourist season at Pike Place, and even in the early afternoon on a Tuesday, there were groups surrounding the menus posted on the way into the restaurant. The host and servers were gracious, despite a party rudely ignoring signage and seating themselves. The atmosphere is casual, as I'd expect at a fish and chips joint, yet the seating inside was spacious and comfortable. They had three beers on tap, and the citrusy IPA from Lucky Envelope ($10) was a great accompaniment to the meal. Water came in a large bottle, and it was just the right temperature: chilled without being ice cold. We started with the Buttery Garlic Focaccia and "made it crabby" for a total of $25. The crab mixed in with the cheese was well worth the upgrade. While my wife prefers chewier focaccia, I loved the richness and perfect browning. My wife had the "World's Best Sockeye Salmon Burger" for $25. With a name like that at a Tom Douglas establishment, it better not disappoint. Unfortunately, the salmon was thin and overcooked. (Tip: go to Tipsy Cow if you want a terrific salmon burger.) However, the fries saved the day! Long, thick, skins on, and cooked until slightly crisp, they are among the best around. Ask for them without salt (my wife always does), and you can enjoy the potato flavor as-is or dip in their incredibly thick ketchup. I had the Mr. Fish Combo fish and chips ($29), which came with two pieces of cod, two large, plump shrimp, and plenty of calamari. The breading was too salty, especially on the calamari. On top of salted fries, it became overwhelming. The plump shrimp was the best part. read more

After some shopping at Patagonia, I popped into the market for some food. I had never been to this restaurant before. I got the classic fish & chips, a Caesar salad and washed down with a peachy cider. The fish was good, very crunchy batter. The batter is barely seasoned so definitely needs some help from the malt vinegar and Tartar. I can only describe the tartar as weak, without a lot of flavor. You get three good sized pieces of fish. Some of the chips were a little overly done but otherwise good. The salad was very good and just the right size . The cider had a nice fruity flavor, not dry but also not too sweet. I would have given another star if the tartar was better. Ivar's has better tartar sauce. I tend to compare all the fish & chips to Prya Thai in Tacoma. No place in Seattle has topped them yet. read more

We came in as a table of 6 and were excited for some oysters and a good time! Upon arriving, we noticed it was still happy hour so we happily flagged down the waiter to put in a quick order. He was very annoyed and hurried all of us. So we threw in a few beers and I stuck to water because I was already not liking his demeanor. Again, I tried to get some info before ordering and he came back with it's all oysters, this is Seattle. I then got the feeling that he saw us as naive travelers from some place far away where we know nothing about varieties of oysters and their flavor notes. So after feeling like another tourist we agreed to a couple dozen if the mystery oyster. They were briney, milky, and probably the worst oysters I've had in town. The rest of the food was fine. My husband loved the fish sandwich, my parents liked the thick chowder and I was fine with the mediocre Cesar I ordered. Layer, the waiter (older bald man) tried to warm up to us saying there was just a lot of orders so he was trying to help us, but we all felt turned off from what was going to be a great reunion with our parents in a city we love for its amazing food. Feels like this place was put up to just cash in on the foot traffic on Western. I'm sure I'm speaking to the visitors here (locals I am sure steer clear of a one oyster restaurant)- You have choices! Oysters are meant to be selected and tasted for their varieties. Our first time in the area, for an Alaskan cruise. I did some research on restaurants in and around Pikes Place Market and I'm glad we came here. I was worried that 5:00 on a Friday might be hard to get seated at most restaurants, but we were seated right away. Our waiter (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) is an asset to his profession and the establishment. He was warm, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He answered our questions and spoke highly of the owner and the business, which gave me confidence that we chose the right place to eat. I chose the fish and chips, popular dish, with side salad. My husband got the fish platter. I was sold on the cod being fresh caught. Whenever we travel I like to get fresh seafood if I can. We also shared a bowl of the bacon clam chowder, also popular. The soup was very good, tasty and thick. But the fish and chips, I can't say enough how delicious this was. The best cod I ever had. And the tartar sauce, I was told, is made fresh daily, in-house, and it was also delicious. The fries were great, I believe fresh cut. My side salad was interesting; leaves of lettuce wrapped around the inside of the bowl, with slices of radish and a Dijon vinaigrette dressing. I enjoyed it! My husband's fish platter had cod, shrimp and calamari, which was all very yummy., but he liked the cod so much he wished he had got the fish and chips. When asked if we wanted dessert, we declined as we were so full from dinner, but then we saw a piece of pie at a neighboring table that was maybe 4-5" high, so we had to ask. Our waiter informed us it was a toasted coconut pie (homemade in-house) and on special for half price, so we took a slice to go. It was also delicious! And prices are very reasonable for what you get. We left with full stomachs. So pleased with this place that I would definitely recommend if you like fresh fish. I was not a fan of the service we received and the taste of the food. Once our server took our order, we were served by another guy and she only checked on us once. Due to the pricing of our items, a minimum gratuity is for $26 but doing what? We pour our own water, someone else dropped the food off, and she only asked us once if we needed anything. She had a blank personality and perhaps since it was close to closing time, she was in a hurry. We ordered the chowder here which was so bland, we didn't finish. We did fish,chips, calamari which the family liked. No one liked the huge chips(fries) because they were just thick and overcooked. I got the crab legs which is insanely priced for one pound. Yes, they are baiardi snow crab, yes they are good. But $56? We are right next to the fish market and the state closest to Alaska, how are crab legs in other states so much cheaper? Aside from the fact that they may be smaller legs than these baiardi ones. Dungeness crab, I can get alive and fresh back home for $10-15 a pound depending on the season. To charge $50-60 bucks for a Dungeness crab is insanely pricey just for steamed. At my favorite places in San Francisco along the pier and at restaurants, Dungeness crab is fresh and cheaper. I don't get if it's a cost of living thing/touristy thing here so they just overcharge like crazy or what. Wouldn't recommend to my friends or family. Not based off of cost but it just wasnt worth it. I have high end seafood places here at home and their seafood...to die for. We are in a desert state that doesn't even get it fresh from the market or Alaska like this restaurant does. Sidenote, the African American server that calls everyone a queen. She deserves to be a literal general manager of that restaurant. She was so sweet to all of her tables and customers and wished them sincere thoughts. She even checked on us. Ate there on July 18, 2025, the food was not very good. The clam chowder was the worst I have ever eaten. It was not smooth and creamer and it had big chunks of celery and some type of spice. It was not a traditional clam chowder. I also had the fish n chips and they were ok and bit over cooked. The fish n chips came with hand cut fries which gave the presentation of being burnt. Service was average and the ambience good near the ocean and tourists during the summer. Would I go back to the restaurant "Mr. Fish?"
