You order at the front, and a staff member brings the food over to your table. We were about to eat inside their patio while it was a little chilly, but some indoor booths opened up for us. We both got the bacon burrito ($14). This is a large breakfast burrito with chopped bacon, two scrambled eggs, hash browns, and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla. You can pick either red or green salsa. I liked the green salsa as it had a good balance of spice and flavor. The burrito has a lot of hash browns, which can overpower the overall flavor and other ingredients. The breakfast burrito seemed a little pricy, but the portion size made up for it. I even took a small remnant of leftovers home.

It's kind of like a skillet, except you have full control of how much of each items goes into it. Normally I don't like a ton of gravy in this ritual, but something about the gravy and sausage at Paul's Country Kitchen made this Grand Finale especially delicious. I mean--the Char's Country Plate was good in itself. I've had something similar at the nearby Mr. D's with its two sausage patties on a biscuit covered in gravy along with eggs and hash browns. I think the version at Paul's was a bit better. Every bite was a delight. But I think the best bites were reserved when I got that bit a sausage and gravy into the mix with the hash browns and perfectly cooked eggs. Grand Finales are usually a joy, but this one was especially joyous. Also, noticeable was the great service here. I found the servers personable and discerning. They managed to give out good recommendations, answer any questions about the offerings, and still hold good conversation. That's rare at any food joint you go to. Not only that, they held down the fort when it came to refills, getting my order out quickly, and dropping the bill off when it came time. The personal touch here is impeccable. Lastly, the ambience is great here. The space is kind of limited, but they had plenty of booths and tables, 2-tops and 4-tops, and counter space. Everything was decorated brightly without seeming gaudy, and it gave off a welcoming feeling that is traditional with all local diners. I wouldn't mind eating in a place like this regularly. In conclusion, I think I found a new place to have breakfast. Not only that, I think I found a new place to recommend to others when I want to point out what makes a good diner/coffee shop.

I have ordered the house burrito and they did not put bacon or sausage only ham inside. Be careful when you order in the drive-thru. The menu prices say $13 for example for a plate but it is not accurate. It is actually $2-3 more and is false advertising. When the lady tells you the price it's so much higher even with the tax I always have other peoples food in my food mixed. Example: tomato slices, ends of sausage or bell pepper, and a hair The drinks have been watered down for over a year. The syrup needs to be changed and less ice. Also no carbonation. When you get the receipt of overpaying you can't even see a breakdown of what you ordered, just a big grand total This does not seem legal at all. Overall, everything lacked flavor, although I will say the red salsa served with the chips was delicious. My friend ordered the avocado toast, but it was basically just a slice of bread with sliced avocado--no seasoning, condiments, or anything to make it stand out. The small garden salad was equally underwhelming, consisting of only romaine lettuce and cherry tomatoes with no dressing or even a drizzle of olive oil. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, but they were more like open-faced boiled eggs since the yolks were completely hard instead of runny. The café de olla had a nice flavor, but it was much sweeter than expected. I think it would be better if they served it unsweetened (or lightly sweetened) and let customers adjust the sugar to their own taste. My husband got the Flame grilled steak and eggs, he ordered it medium well and it came well. Our server took it back and brought him a new one no problem. The soup was the only thing that was surprisingly good and had some flavor. I saw some reviews say this is a true no frills diner, and that's pretty spot on but the real issue for me is that everything was dry and lacking flavor. We decided to try Mr. D's after my husband spotted it while driving by and thought it looked like a charming little diner. Upon arrival, we were pleased with its nostalgic 60s-style decor, which added to the cozy atmosphere. We went right after work around 5:00 PM and were surprised to find the place empty. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The menu is impressively large, offering just about anything you could want. We started with two glasses of wine and chips with guacamole. Unfortunately, the guacamole was disappointing, as it was mostly onions and large chunks of tomato with very little avocado. Our meals came with soup or salad, and we both opted for the minestrone, which was decent. My husband had to send his back because it wasn't hot enough, but mine was fine. For our entrées, I had a turkey burger, which was good, while my husband ordered the turkey dinner. He also had to send his back to be heated, but he enjoyed it once it was warm enough. Overall, the food was decent but not particularly memorable. While there was nothing wrong with our experience, nothing stood out as exceptional either. Given the empty dining room and the restaurant's 3.5-star rating, I can understand why it's not a go-to spot for many. That said, we're open to giving it another chance and trying other menu items. read more

I have been coming here for about a year now and have had few problems at the restaurant. That was up until recently. There is an older man who sits up front and greets guests, and he seems to lack any motivation yo do his job correctly. For ex. My spouse and i came in one day and this man was playing around on his phone and he took a better part of a minute just to look up and acknowledge that we were here, then proceeded to fake apologise and sat us with our server. When I went to go pay, she wouldn't hand me my bill, she put it down on the counter even though it would have been faster and easier to hand me. When I handed her the credit card she also again put my card down on the counter instead of handing it to me. Then when it came time to sign She put the receipt down again and then seemed annoyed when I asked her if she had a pen so I could sign for the bill. I let it go in the moment but the whole exchange seemed strange. Being a customer service professional myself, it seemed intentional and I don't know what I did to deserve jt. Fast forward to getting my food, I go meet the others at church. I sit down and I realize they didn't give me any utensils so I walk back in and ask. Same individual again and again you thought I was asking for her to donate me her kidney when I asked for to go utensils. Mind you there is like 3 families in the entire restaurant so it's not busy at all. Go back and start eating. The hashbrowns are soggy with tons of salt on them, eggs overcooked and the sausage is undercooked - pink in the middle. Unfortunately for me I didn't notice it until I had taken a bite and eaten one. At this stage in my experience at the restaurant I cut my losses and tossed the food. Hoping I avoided any food poisoning was all I could do. Long story short, felt sick for the rest of the evening. Won't be returning as I wasn't valued as a customer, was made to feel like an inconvenience to the staff and was served unsafe/mishandled food. Cannot recommend and will warn others in the area to visit at their own risk.
