Fabulous! Beautiful and delicious pastries and cakes perfect for teas or to take home. Special orders are always reliable. Meals are scrumptious -- especially love the goulash. Love this place! read more

I took my mom there for the afternoon tea. Everything was delicious! The place is really pretty, there was a live piano player, service was great and everyone was very nice. There was plenty of parking and it was easy to get to. I can't wait to go back. read more

The atmosphere was awesome, the service not so much. I had the grilled chicken salad and it was very good. But throughout the meal, I only saw my server three times. The patio table I was seated at was rickety and needed to be replaced but overall good food good and atmosphere. read more

Great place, had the tea tasting (one mimosa, tea cakes, tea). Really great, typical finger foods and mini sandwiches/pastries. Do not do the tea tasting menu as a substitute for a real meal because it will not fill you up. read more

Myself and 3 other people ate at Mozarts today and it was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. It began by a rude hostess and that was the least of it. Food was not good and when we complained about it to the waitress she got very nasty to us. The manager came around, asked how we liked our meal, we said we were not happy and he just stood there, did not say a word and then walked away.to us and never said another thing to us. We will never eat there again and advise anyone not to. I told a local shopkeeper about our experience and she said she had no good word for Mozarts either. read more

Thank you for the fine job you did in hosting my group of 14 for lunch on Sunday. It was elegant, efficient, and delicious. Many members of my party said it was the highlight of their weekend. Please share with Janelle and Emily what a lovely time we had. read more

After such a great review a month ago it's very sad to have to report that my fiance and friends and family will not be visiting Motzarts again. Since I began coming to Motzarts on a regular basis (1-2 times a month) and spending quite a lot on food and deserts in addition also inviting friends and out of town family to come experience Motzarts...this has now come to an end. My friends, family, my fiancé and I know this restaurant is a more high level establishment, however, as my fiancé and I were eating dinner with our two friends (first time visitors of Motzarts) we were enjoying each others company and fellowship and we were laughing at stories shared and having a great time... then the owner came out and put his hand on my fiancé s shoulder and addressed the table and said we all needed to be quiet. We all were taken back by this. We were not being obnoxious or any louder than on previous visits and yet the owner came out to tell us to be quiet. That does not hit as hard to me as the owner laying his hand on my fiancé s shoulder. You do not touch a customer. You do not touch anyone without their permission. What we hope is what probably happened was a "stuffed shirt guest" who thinks they are more privelaged than others in the world complained, which was odd because the table next to us had two small children being louder than anyone else in the restaurant. However, the approach and way the owner of Motzarts handled it was very poor. Aside from us not being able to talk normally while eating now...he touched a guest. No on that. My warning to future guests...make sure you whisper to your table mates and also be prepared for someone to come and lay their hands on you unwelcomed. So sad, but until I receive an apology, and moreso my fiancé...we will take our business, money and appetite to another establishment. read more

Walked out. We were not greeted warmly and after not having a reservation they did not try to accommodate us in any way.

Went there with Hubby and college daughter. The new place is wonderful and we had such a nice time. The kind of place where the food is delicious and has veggie options also. More than that it is the kind of place where you can relax and have a nice conversation with people you care about. I can see the new space being great for weddings and rehearsal dinners. I would love to see how they do a wedding cake! read more

We recently did an event at Mozart's for about 75 women and it was perfect! The staff is friendly and professional, the atmosphere is cozy (especially with the piano playing), the food is delicious and the desserts/pastries are amazing and gorgeous for display! I would highly recommend using Mozart's for an event or stop in for coffee and dessert. read more

I held a bridal shower at Mozarts and they were fantastic. The ballroom area would fit a small or pretty large party. The European Brunch was really nice and the pastry tray was fantastic. All the guests had a great time and were very impressed with the venue! The staff provided great service and they helped coordinate the event via email. I will definitely be going there again! read more

New Mozart location has horrible service, much lower quality food and the bakery items were stale-- and had higher prices. I was a nineteen year loyal customer but no longer! There are numerous other cafes and restaurants (and even grocery stores) that are far superior to Mozart's. Stay away from this so-called café. read more

Nice restaurant with a certain ambience. Nice place to take older family and out of town guests. Hungarian Ghoulish is authentic with other ethnic foods. With pastries by the entrance you should not go away hungry. read more

Very disappointing. I have always enjoyed the wonderful Austrian restaurants I have visited and I had high hopes for Mozarts. The pastries weren't very fresh and we had to get our own coffee?!? My opinion must be felt by others, because the parking lot is seldom crowded. Too bad. read more

My husband and I have been very very pleased with this restaurant. We have met the owner Anand and he has always been kind to us. We enjoyed talking to him about the history of their newer location. Their breakfasts and dinners are sooo delicious. I loved their asparagus strudel with a creamy cheese sauce. I think it is in rotation, so last time I went they did not have it. This place is elegant, classy with mood lighting, beautiful architecture accents and ambiance. One thing I would say is the outdoor area is right by High street, so it can be a bit loud. Mozart's has a ton of choices for your sweet tooth, and the pianist will play Charlie Brown for you by request. My husband and I had our last meal over there before moving to the West Coast, and said our good byes to Anand. We were almost in our car when we saw him running after us with a bottle of wine on the house as a going away present. SO SWEET!!! We will definitely return when we make our way back to Ohio to visit! read more

I was there in a group of six and everything was top notch. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service was attentive and polite, and the atmosphere was just the right mix of old world charm and Midwestern casualness. read more

We simply love this place, mozart's used to be on high street and they moved to clintonville. They have the amazing bakery food items, If anyone wants to have a nice desserts on a wonderful day I will suggest mozart's is the place. We hosted my sister's bridal shower at Mozart's and we had an amazing time. The food was delicious, the wait staff was attentive but not intrusive, and Janelle who helped plan/coordinate everything was wonderful to work with. Also, definitely order some desserts! We had cupcakes that the chef was able match the frosting to our theme to add something special. If you are looking at a place to host a shower of any sort I would highly recommend it! read more

Beautiful restoration of an historic restaurant. Great care was given to the rennovation and decor. The space for parties and reecptions is impressive. Owner is a seasoned professional who understands customer service. He is respected in the community for his concern for the well-being of the community. This new site is just what the neighborhood needs. The menu is simple. Bakery wonderful- a cut above the competition. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner or you can come in for coffee and sweets. In the relocation of Mozart's they have not expanded the menu--which I believe is a good move. They continue to do what they do well. Lovely but not pretentious. read more

Worst dessert I've ever had. Tried to get something nice for my husband's 50th birthday and , after one bite each, we threw it away.

I give this three stars because the service is really good. But the food was only average. The desserts were fine. I'd be interested in going back for one of their tea services - again, because their waitstaff was so considerate, it might make it a really special afternoon with friends. read more

My family came to eat here last week, Aug 2013 and has been violently ill since (about 1.5 weeks)! My mother went to the doctor who confirmed she got food poising from the dinner, likely related to employees improper hand washing. The food was decent but the aftermath was terrible. Perhaps it was a sanitation issue or the food was old. either way, unless you're able to take a week off after eating here, i do NOT recommend Mozart! read more

i went with 2 friends to tea time - all the way around the experience was underwhelming! the service was poor & the food was mediocre and overpriced. we loved the idea of it but did not love the outcome. will maybe try it again for dinner! read more

Horrible service. Horrible food. Used to be a regular at old location. Will never darken this door again.

Small brunch menu. The desserts are great and it is difficult to finish one piece by yourself since they are so rich.

I went to Mozart's with a group of ladies. I enjoyed my visit overall. I will say I was confused at first as to seating myself or waiting for a hostess. I drooled over the pastry display (maybe this is the idea?) but after a while, I walked around and someone asked me if I needed help and then she placed me with my group. I am a coffee-aholic. I will suggest providing more carafes to your servers because ours said he only had one and didn't really want to leave it at our table. Also, to a coffee lover, temperature is key. Although the flavor of the coffee was nice, it was not as hot as I would have liked it and coffee loses it's heat even more when you add cream. So hotter coffee please and buy more carafes. My food was pretty good. I skipped breakfast and was hungry so I thoroughly enjoyed my turkey and sausage with eggs on focaccia. The lady next to me had a daily special and I really wished I had ordered her plate. Sadly, I skipped the pastry case on my way out. I really wanted one, but I will go back again for something sweet with my Mom. Hot coffee is a must though with sweet pastries. read more

I recently held my partner's SURPRISE 50th Birthday Party here and it went off without a hitch! The food was excellent, the servers/bartenders were spot on, the room was immaculate and best of all, we pulled it off without her knowing! Kudo's Mozart's! read more

I highly recommend Mozart's Café! The food is delicious and the Desserts are a special treat! The piano music makes your visit a fun night and the service is exceptional! Was extremely pleased to have an excellent desert in an historic building. See the terrazzo mural in the old dance hall. The place was busy but the service excellent and the owner took time to visit with us. Truly wonderful baking. Looking forward to returning for a full meal. I wish I could give Mozart's a good review but since it moved to the new location, it seems like the quality has gone down. I have been to the new location three times - brunch, dinner and afternoon tea - and did not have a good experience. The afternoon tea experience was particularly awful. I have had the afternoon tea multiple times at the old location and it had always been wonderful. Thinking that it would be the same, I invited a few colleagues to join me and really talked it up. I made the reservation four days in advance for six people. Told them that there are two people who do not eat ham and one person that is gluten free. I was told that they do gluten free teas and that should not be a problem. However, it seemed like the waiter knew nothing about our requests, and we were told that they have "run out of the gluten free tea." So, my gluten free colleague could only drink tea. As for the food, instead of giving us a plate of scones to share between two people each (which is how it had been in the past), we were only given two plates with four tiny scones each to share with everyone. The canapes were terrible - a tiny piece of poorly cut bread with cucumber on it! They have cut down the sandwich size as well. The tea in itself was horrible. It seemed that it was sitting for a while before it was served. After serving the food, the server kind of forgot about us. We were seated in one of the back rooms so there was just no one around. We had to walk up to the counter to ask for the server THREE times - to get some hot water for the tea, to get our check, and then we eventually gave up waiting for him (for about half an hour) and walked up to the cash register to pay that check. On top of it all, they have changed their afternoon tea price from $16.95 to $18.95 - that is what we were charged. I was not only disappointed with the food and service, I was also embarrassed in front of my guests. Needless to say that I will not be going back or bringing them any more people. It is sad that Mozart's growth has affected their quality so much. read more

Smoked salmon sandwich was ok, except it came on the same focaccia they gave us prior to the meal. Wiener schnitzel was good. I had a passion fruit martini = horrible! I swapped it out for a Cosmo = terrible. I was too afraid after that to order dessert. read more

I have been wanting to do afternoon tea here, but haven't had the chance. My husband and I decided to go on a date there for dinner. We had no idea what to expect. You walk in and the feel is very romantic with the piano player and the candle lit table with a rose. The staff was friendly, but didn't know much about the menu. When I asked questions about the spätzle my waitress did not know much about it. I did order the chicken spätzle and ratatouille. My husband ordered Veal Wienerschnitzel with vegetables. We did not like our entrees at all. We ended up not eating them. We then ordered desserts and I had a coffee. Coffee was delicious. Peach tart was a jello on an almond crust. Not so great. Coconut rum ball very strong in taste. One bite was so rich that's all I could handle, but it was good. The eclair was good not too sweet. The cream horn was beyond amazing! I think I would go here again to try afternoon tea to have the experience of it and I would go for dessert and coffee. There are a lot of different desserts so I would like to try others. The cream horn was so good I would drive 20 minutes to get a few. read more

My mother and I planned an afternoon tea at Mozart's but made one error--I never made a reservation. While many restaurants would have said, "Sorry--come back when you make a reservation," another place was set in a crowded dining room, and we were invited to sit down. We had the most lovely time with scones and tea sandwiches, but even better was neighborhood warmth we enjoyed on a chilly winter afternoon. Customer service is often the best--and hardest to find--aspect of a restaurant experience. You will find no better than Mozart's. read more

We are frequent and long time customers of Mozart's and on June 12, 2015 we had our wedding reception there for 37 people. We used the Beechwold Tavern Room. We had canapés, cocktails, dinner and desert. The entire evening was amazing. Every detail was taken care of as Janelle ( the Manager) and I planned out. They were awesome to work with, and all of our guests were very happy. They loved the environment and the food. In addition, We want to thank all of the servers and bar tenders that made sure everyone always had what they needed. We appreciated all the attention to every detail. Thank you for making our day so very special. Jeneanne and Jim Nelson read more

I was here November 16th for my boyfriend's birthday. The food was really good. The service however was awful. After dinner 3 of us ordered dessert. They ordered tortes from the dessert counter. I ordered a banana split. The tortes came out right away andI was told it would be a minute on the banana split . 20 minutes go by and finally the server comes with my banana split. At that point I refused it as my guests were done eating and ready for the check. The server didn't apologize and actually seemed aghast I refused to accept the banana split. I won't return here. The food is good but not worth poor unfriendly service. read more

This was my second dining experience at Mozart's and although the food is usually great, our service on this visit, from the moment we walked in the door to the disappointing conversation we had with the manager after our meal was completely unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one that is trying to position itself as 'upscale'. We waited at least 5 minutes to be seated as several staff walked past us making eye contact yet not acknowledging us. Finally we were seated, to which we again waited at least 8 minutes before anyone came to great us at our table. Once again, several servers made eye contact with us, including the person who ended up being our server, without any acknowledgment. Let me prefixes this by saying they did seem somewhat busy, but by No means slammed. I would have even settled for an "I'm sorry we're a little behind but someone will be right with you." After we were finally greeted at the table, it took another 10 minutes to receive our drinks, just 2 iced teas. There was also at no point any apologies for this service. After we finished our meals we politely spoke to a manager on duty, who although apologized, also gave the excuse that they were busy as to why we received such poor service. I actually had to point out to the manager that being busy still does not negate the fact that apologizing is standard customer service, which was never given during our meal. Having been a server for over 9 years, I find this kind of customer service completely unacceptable and have no plans of returning. read more

We have been customers of Mozart's for over 15 years - 13 years at the old Clintonville location and 2 years at the new Beechwold location. We visited Mozart's for a special "birthday party" celebration where customers were invited to "enjoy free pastries" and donate money for a local, independent rock station. Despite the fact that we donated money to the rock station AND paid money for pastries and drinks, we were treated as riff-raff that were unwelcome. The owner scowled at us through our entire visit. One of our party has a neurological condition that causes uncontrollable vocal and motor tics. The owner frowned at that person through our entire visit. When the "free pastry" tray was replenished, people at tables who had purchased nothing from Mozart's were offered their choice of free pastries by the server, who treated them with gracious concern. When the server reached our table, however, he looked us over, sneered at us, spun around and took the tray away. The only positive aspects of the visit were the piano player playing live classical music and the wonderfully kind host (a young teenage boy) who greeted us with genuine warmth and answered our seating question with authentic friendliness. To have the owner scowling at our table and our table alone was disconcerting and off-putting, to say the least. To know that we are regular customers, who spend an enormous amount of money on Mozart's pastries every single year and are treated badly while people who wandered in off the street without buying anything were encouraged to help themselves to free pastries with big smiles and welcomes, left us with a bad taste in our mouths. While the pastries are delicious, the attitude of the owner needs to be corrected. You will lose loyal customers if you treat them as poorly as you treated us. If you send out emails asking your customers to come in and celebrate your birthday with you, then please have the courtesy to treat customers as honored guests. (Note: We became customers of Mozart's 15 years ago after attending a birthday party event in which the owner implored us to try as many free pastries as we liked. We were able to sample widely from his wares and, finding our favorites, have returned for the last 15 years and paid money for them. This is precisely how retail sampling typically works. Unfortunately, the attitudes of the staff have gone downhill over the last 15 years, which means that, no matter how delicious your pastries are, we will be going elsewhere and giving our money to other independent businesses who value loyalty and who know how to treat customers like valued guests.) read more
