This is a nice restaurant and nice patio in the summer . I gave it an four . But I had dinner there with my daughter and a friend and I ordered the mussels. It came in a large portion which was good but there was hardly anything in them and a few that didn't open . I couldn't get a good taste of oysters as they were so small . The sauce was very good that you dipped your bread in . My daughter got the salmon and said it was alittle dry . Our server. Sierrra was great . Checked on us occasionally and was friendly. She did comp the oysters since I was dis appointed in them and we will be back since she was nice enough to do that

We needed an intimate meal after a long day. The patio was perfect. We enjoyed the nice evening and good food. Our server was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the fried mushroom appetizer and had pasta & pizza as entrees. We indulged in an additional order of bread with a delicious garlic butter. I had a seasonal Rhinegiest beer that paired well with my pizza. I especially appreciate the (free) parking lot was very close and easily accessible.

From the bread and butter to the gnocchi, everything was amazing. Kelly was an amazing server. She answered all of our questions and made great suggestions. The inside of the restaurant is quiet with lights turned down, quiet music, candles, and very romantic.

I used to loveee this place and it has sadly gone downhill. The food is hit and miss. We started with the veggie pizza and it was pretty good as well as the complimentary bread. For dinner I got the chicken Caesar which was good and a side of the risotto which was so bland and not the right consistency. The people who got the short rib gnocchi enjoyed their meals but the rest did not (we had a carbonara, short rib risotto, and the shrimp). Our service was also not great, the waitress was rushing us and got upset when we tilted the umbrella so we weren't blinded by the sun. The manager was even rude moving the umbrella back and shutting the patio down and trying to move us inside, when the place was open for another hour after we left. The patio is nice and a pretty spot, so many grab and app and a drink, but don't waste your time on a full meal here. There are so many better options in Dublin, check out one of those

Mezzo!!! I visited in 2019 and finally made it back tonight and it was just absolutely superb! Brian was our server and he is the BEST hands down. My group of 6 and I made it out to here to celebrate the birthday of a lovely friend. Making a reservation was easy and so was parking in the lot nearby. The restaurant itself is dimly lit and intimate. My only complaint is that it is insanely loud. But otherwise it is lovely. The food is fantastic. I went with the Orecchiette and it was perfect! I also had a glass of lovely red wine that paired nicely with the pasta. I have no complaints and will definitely be back soon!!

Vegan Spaghetti Bolognese

This restaurant was really nice and great for everyone. I loved the ambience of the restaurant and enjoyed the music they were playing. I have went a couple times now for someone's birthday and another event I was invited to. It has an entire vegan and gluten free menu which is amazing and usually not offered by similar places like this. I am vegan, my sister is gluten free and other family members don't have any dietary restrictions so this was awesome for us to all get food we wanted. I tried the vegan garlic bread appetizer and it was delicious. I also had the vegan pasta bolognese and it was incredible and completely exceeded my expectations. I also had the vegan apple cake dessert which was also so tasty. On a different day I tried the vegan pizza. The vegan pizza definitely was not my favorite, it tasted dry and I just did not love it so I would not get that again but what I love about this restaurant is they have so many options on their vegan menu I can choose from a selection of options. I would definitely go here again and definitely recommend it especially if your group has different dietary restrictions. I also asked my sister what she thought and she loved the gluten free menu, and the rest of my family highly enjoyed their meals as well when we went. Also, I will say it is a nice restaurant so it was a bit pricey but I felt it was reasonable for the amount of food we were served and there are different options on the menu that are more affordable than others. I would go back if it's another nice event like a birthday or formal event.

Arancini, Sausage & Pepper Pizza & $12 HH Cab

This place is so charming and cute in old Dublin along with an amazing HH!! I have met many friends here after work to split a $12 bottle of wine (during HH in/ at the bar) along with a super light and yummy flatbread type pizza. They have about 4 different options and can choose from and even substitute gluten free crust if need be!! Yay! I have had most of all their HH menu and everything is shareable and good. Especially for the price it can't be beat!! If you are looking for a great charming place to meet friends or go out for date night Mezzo would be a great option! Also lots of free 3-2hr parking in surface lots near and close by!!

Came here for a date night during their Friday happy hour. We walked in and the place was packed! I would suggest making a reservation. The host did a great job trying to squeeze us in and get us seats at the bar. We did specifically come for happy hour so took full advantage of that. That in itself deserves 5 stars. It was national pizza day so we couldn't help but order both the pepperoni pizza and sausage and peppers pizza. We also got on of each of their apps. Lastly we ordered one bottle of red and one bottle of white wine. After all it was $12 happy hours bottles of wine! Everything was excellent! Our favorite was the sausage and pepper pizza. Though I also loved the truffle fries, it's usually not my thing, but these were great. The service was kind and attentive. We had such a good time and plan to go back soon to try a regular menu item.

Tiramisu - made in house

I asked the bartender at the hotel where was a good Italian restaurant and he said without thinking, Mezzo! Just up the street. I'm originally from Columbus and the Italian food here is second to none. Mezzo did not disappoint! I had the chicken Mezzo with rigatoni rather than the spaghetti. I was by myself but the service was as good as I've had. Mezzo is a nice little restaurant on the corner in the middle of Dublin - it has a Cheers vibe which is nice. I finished the dinner with the tiramisu, which was made in house and very good. I'll try to come back next time I'm here.

Chicken piccata

Food, service, ambiance, everything was 10/10! I ordered the arancini which was probably the best arancini I've ever had. Also ordered the veal meatballs and had 0 complaints, very tasty. For my entree I ordered the chicken Parmesan (photographed) (minus asparagus) and I ate it all which is rare for me. They also brought out bread with the best garlic butter ever. Also the berry sangria is fantastic. I'll be coming back so many times!!

Campanelle, animal free

The animal free dishes have evolved over the years and these were our best meals to date. Vegan menu has numerous appetizers, salads, mains and desserts! Enjoyed the warm bread with olive oil. Pasta meals served hot. Unlike other reviews, no concerns about small portions! Great service and comfy booth.

Pappardelle bolognese

This was our first visit in many years but it was still as good as I remember. There is some available outdoor seating but it was full when we arrived. The inside is nicely decorated and there is plenty of bar space as well. They offer a nice wine selection and their cocktails are high quality, the espresso martini was delicious. We decided to split the Cesar salad, pepperoni pizza and pappardelle bolognese. We had 4 people in our party and it was plenty of food to share. Everything had great flavor and arrived at the table piping hot.

Our server Kelcie, who was 5* by the way, helped us in navigating all the intricacies to the ingredients. Lots of nuance to the menu. Our choices: lamb appetizer, black cod, sirloin, and chocolate mousse; each were tasty, presented well, and excellent dishes. The potato cake on the steak was very different and well done. Our Old Fashion had a nice taste. The place is very small and reservations are a must. The GM Michael came by and chatted us up...to thank us for coming, and glad they were able to accommodate our food needs. Nice touch. Excellent bathrooms. Thanks for that. We were nervous at first because no one we talked to knew what Gene's was BUT we are SO SO SO glad we went! From the moment you step onto their property it was such an incredible experience. Who knew such a cute and quaint little restaurant could pack so much flavor and art into their food and such a personalized dining experience. While we had a reservation at 8:45, we decided to eat in at the bar after having the most incredible espresso martini of our lives and talking to John. My sister and I opted to share multiple courses - each of which was better than the last. It was an amazing experience and we were lucky enough to compliment and thank the executive chef in person. We left full and satisfied but not stuffed which is exactly what we were looking for! HIGHLY recommend Gene's if you're looking for an elevated dining experience and great service while in Dublin, Ohio!

Small little table for two in main dinning area! There was a warm ambiance at the bar seating that is elevated from the main floor. Our server was Jackson and he was swift with water and patient with us as we combed the menu as it was our first time! Wife ordered a red wine that was good poor for the price with a solid flavor. I asked for a surprise cocktail, Jackson delivered! Basil-Gin Smash. It was an excellent pick and great read as a server! Started with complimentary oil and crushed tomatoes, excellent! We had the winter salad split with the Goat Cheese & Sundried Tomato Ravioli Roasted Pomodoro, Arugula, Pesto With an addition of 4 scallops. Half price bottles of wine (up to $50 off), but not a single Cabernet on the menu under $100 so I went with an old fashioned. It was good, but I was a bit surprised a fancy place like this wouldn't use big rocks. Daughter had the espresso martini which was excellent. Their bread is served with an oil and tomato concoction that was to die for. Actually, I'm not sure if it was tomatoes or peppers, but it was crazy good. I think they sell it by the jar. For dinner I had the chicken parm. The chicken itself was okay, with the breading falling off in places , not overly crispy. Also, not overly large, but just fine for one meal. I'm used to taking half of it home, but this was just a bit larger than a half portion I would usually relegate myself to. The game changer was the red sauce. Holy cow was it good! A bit sweat, full bodied, just delicious. I wish they bottled that to take home! It was that good and more than made up for the mediocre service. About that, the waiter was friendly enough, just not that bright or attentive. I had asked for crushed red pepper when I ordered the chicken parm, which he never brought. It seemed that we waited forever for the check, then after paying, I realized I never got my credit card back. Waited for the kid to come back around, but he must have gone to the can to burn a mule, as he was no where to be found. I walked over to the server area and saw my card lying on top of the card reader, which I retrieved on my own. Normally, this experience would irritate me to no end and result in a poor review, but that red sauce was just sooooo good. Will definitely come back and try something else in that same sauce. Oh, and happy birthday to me! The complementary chocolate moose and the presentation was perfect.

My family and I dined at The Pearl Dublin on December 23rd to celebrate my cousin's birthday while…read moreshe was visiting from Montreal. While there were a few minor service issues, our server was kind and attentive and acknowledged the celebration with complimentary desserts, which we truly appreciated. After dinner, my cousin and I went to wash our hands and use the restroom. At the time, all stalls were occupied and one was out of service, so we waited. When a stall opened, my cousin kindly let me go first. I finished and stood outside the stalls waiting for her for about three minutes. During that time, I noticed several people going in and out of the restroom area. I also saw a man sitting in a chair along the hallway wall near the stalls, hunched over. Shortly after, a woman exited the restroom and grabbed him to leave. I thought nothing of it and minded my own business. I also observed the executive chef enter one of the restroom stalls. When my cousin exited, she mentioned that the stall smelled strongly of smoke and that three girls had exited the stall before she entered. She said the stall smelled like marijuana but used it only because it was the only option available. She also pointed out that the man sitting outside appeared to be associated with the group who had been in the stall. We then returned to our patio table where our family was seated. Our server brought out her birthday pie along with another complimentary dessert. She blew out the candle, we shared dessert, and we began preparing to leave. A few minutes later, while we were still seated on the patio, the general manager, Nick Krafft, approached our table accompanied by Executive Chef Michael Wagner. We initially assumed he was checking in on our experience. Instead, he immediately stated, "I'm going to have to ask you not to smoke in our restaurant and bathroom," directing the accusation at my cousin and me. We were completely taken aback by both the accusation and the manner in which it was delivered. We calmly explained that it was not us and described exactly what we had observed in the restroom. We stated that neither of us smoke and never have. We even offered to have our belongings checked and explained that we had not taken any jackets or purses with us to the restroom, as our family remained at the table. Despite this, the general manager refused to listen or consider our explanation and continued to place blame on us. He did not speak to our server, who had interacted with us just moments earlier while bringing out the birthday dessert, nor did he attempt to investigate further or de-escalate the situation. As we were leaving, my fiancé asked the general manager if he actually smelled smoke on either of us. He responded "yes," which was not true, and continued to push a conclusion he had already formed. No apology was offered. We spent over $1,000 celebrating a family birthday at a restaurant we had trusted and enjoyed in the past. Instead, the evening ended with my cousin's birthday being overshadowed by an unfounded accusation. There were many guests dining that evening, yet blame was placed solely on two women who had simply used the restroom. I am a Nurse Practitioner, and my cousin is a special education teacher for autistic children. Neither of us have ever smoked. Being accused in this manner was humiliating, hurtful, and completely unnecessary. I was later contacted by the regional manager, who was understanding. However, I believe this situation highlights the need for better investigation, accountability, and staff training to prevent similar experiences in the future. A personal apology from Nick, acknowledging his actions and taking accountability, would be an appropriate step forward after innocent guests were wrongly blamed and a birthday celebration was ruined.
