Fabulous time at the Kitchen last night! There were about 30 people making each dish. It was a great time to learn how to cook new things. And the chefs were amazing and so into it as well! The food took longer than I thought but overall a great time. The food was so flavorful as well!! This would be a great spot for a rehearsal dinner or small party.

My company had our holiday party here and it was absolutely amazing. I loved the ambiance of the establishment and the setup for dinner. All the staff we're super amazing and hands on the entire time. They engaged with us at every stage of preparing our meal and we all walked away with great tips. As you can see from my photos, our meal was absolutely amazing and delicious. I also loved the open bar and being offered the opportunity to take an old fashioned cocktail making course. I highly recommend anyone to not only book this venue, but to also check out their other events as well.

Steak taco filling for 2 tacos.

I haven't stopped by the kitchen in sometime though have gotten a lot of notice in their new offerings due to covid. I decided last minute in taco Tuesday carryout and it was good as always. Fancy quesadillas was so good as was the steak taco though the filling was a little less than I remember. I would have liked actually sauce for dipping with the quesadillas verse it pre drizzled but it was still wonderful. I think we were missing 1 flour taco shell though we didn't need it so no worries. I also got the dessert fruit with round cake and I think I got a double serving as it was huge. In always hp for taco Tuesday at the kitchen. Glad I made it back finally. Note - they do run out quickly of things so order in advance if you have your heart set on something specific.

They do really fun events. I treated my dog to The Barkery dog biscuit class with Columbus Humane. She loved her treats, and I had a really delightful cosmo and add on cheese plate. There was enough for two small meals (for me) if I added extra apples and veg!

A great Valentines Day event and so happy The Kitchen opened up for another public event. Great space, great food and a fantastic experience with a lot of really fun couples!

I wasn't 100% sure what this experience would be like, but I am 100% sure that I'd recommend it to anyone I know that's interested (or even naive) to food and "kitchen" related things. I recently attended The Kitchen's "Help, I'm hosting thanksgiving" Boot Camp. Now, I'm not a cooking or hosting novice. I live for everything that has to do with food. But, my friend invited me to go with him, and I'm so glad I did. The space is beautiful and great for accommodating a large amount of people. There were three Thanksgiving-themed dining tables set up for us to look at (which would be part of the evenings mini-lessons). We got a class "itinerary" and we got started! There were cocktail pairings throughout the event (which we had recipes for), there was an appetizer course, a "how to breakdown a turkey" course, how to create centerpieces, how to arrange a table, how to "batch prep" cocktails and mock tails... everything was great. One small suggestion is that the mini-appetizers we made could've been labeled by tray so that once they came out of the oven, we knew who's was who's. But, luckily the ones my table made were easily recognizable. Overall, I had such a great time. The people at The Kitchen are so knowledgeable and friendly. This is definitely a place to come and enjoy food and camaraderie.

The kitchen hard at work on Global Tacos Tuesday

Attended a global-themed Taco Tuesday at The Kitchen, partnering with Trangender Children's Legal Defense Fund. It was my first Taco Tuesday at The Kitchen, and I liked a lot of it, but with a few caveats. I wanted a good sample of flavors, so I ordered four tacos: Beef Bolognese, Spiced Chicken, Smoked Paprika Shrimp, Mixed Mushrooms. The tacos were a little hit or miss. I liked the smoked paprika shrimp a lot, the spiced chicken was decent, thought the beef bolognese taco--complete with ragu, fettuccine, and burrata--to be "interesting," and found the "Japanese"mixed mushrooms/corn/edamame/ "fried rice" taco to be a complete disaster. The last taco was far smaller than the others, with just a quarter scoop of very soggy/very-not fried rice inside. While the other three tacos were worth $3/ea, this one was definitely not. Also got the slow-cooked pork short ribs quesadillas, which were delicious. I'm glad that The Kitchen allowed me to swap out the BBQ sauce in the quesadilla for some green onions, which I thought would go better with the pork. That was definitely worth it. The line and wait was very long: I waited 1 hour for my food after arriving at 6:15 and ordering at 6:30. So if you're coming for Taco Tuesday, bring a friend or a book, because it's going to be a while. It's also gets very loud, so be prepared. But the food is ambitious and largely very good, and it's more interesting than the usual mix of Modern American menus in Columbus.

Michael Jackson Taco Night

I'm kinda loving the concept and the physical space of the Kitchen. They are a pseudo-restaurant/event space that offers "participatory dining", basically a cooking class with a self-prepared dinner. They also offer a weekly "Taco Tuesday" event from 5 to 9 pm which seems pretty popular. There's a new theme each week. I happened to attend the Michael Jackson themed Taco Tuesday. Who's bad?!? Picking from their MJ-themed menu was very fun. They had 6 MJ-themed tacos, 6 sides and 3 drinks to choose from. Some amusing examples include: "McCaulay Culkin's Quesadilla with Neverland Ranch Sour Cream" and "Black & White Moonwalk Pie." I ended up getting 3 tacos: PYT (veal piccata over saffron risotto), Beat It (Roasted Beets with arugula, goat cheese & toasted nuts) and Thriller (Shrimp, Andouille sausage, grilled onions & peppers, corn over grits with Tobasco cream sauce). Despite being one of my favorite MJ songs, I couldn't love the PYT taco. Way too much saffron was used, resulting in an earthy and grassy taste that overshadowed the veal. The beet taco was good, but was more of a salad wrapped in a tortilla. My favorite amongst the 3 was the Thriller. The sausage, shrimp and creamy grits made for one delicious bite. Maybe I was just secretly craving grits. Even though the tacos weren't "You rock my world" good. I do appreciate the creativity and concept of the Kitchen. For that alone i'll give them a 4-star rating. I"ll definitely be back again for Taco Tuesday. If I can find a few friends interested in "participatory dining", I may try that too.

The Kitchen is an event space for cooking classes and private parties. But on Tuesday's it is open to the general public for Taco Tuesday. Variety of options displayed on a big chalk board. We ordered the sampler - which is a little bit of everything. There was a lack of shrimp (but could have been due to the sampler) and the chicken was dry. Otherwise the food was good. Big communal tables or individual high tops. Gorgeous German Village space with exposed brick and wood floors. Parking available across the street in Church lot. Looking forward to experience a cooking class in the not to distant future.

If I could give "The Kitchen" 6 stars I could! This place is a little bit of everything; Participatory Dining, event space, and restaurant. I have not experienced Participatory dining or the event space but I have eaten at the restaurant during Taco Tuesdays! Every Tuesday, "The Kitchen" offers an array of themed tacos with bold flavors. They usually partner with a community organization and donate some of the revenue to that organization. The Tacos are amazing and they usually have a few that are vegetarian/ vegan-friendly. MY absolute favorite part of "The Kitchen" are the co-owners Anne & Jen who are always there and among friends. They are warm and inviting and really put their hearts and spirits into the place. Ask for them when you come in and tell them I sent you! Enjoy!

Italian Dinner At Home Meal Kit
Natalie S.

Over the past year I have been to The Kitchen multiple times; a participatory meal work for work, Taco Tuesday night couple of times and last night an At Home Meal Kit. What inspires me to keep getting food from The Kitchen including last night's meal is the creativity, quality, care and sense of community they infuse into everything they produce. When I pulled up to The Kitchen for the curbside pickup I was greeted by a friendly member of The Kitchen's staff. Quickly he brought me my order, the Italian Dinner kit, and let me know the recipes were already in my inbox. Pre-measured, quality ingredients in individually labeled bags for Tuscan salad, lemon garlic green beans, garlic mushrooms, tomato vodka gluten free pasta and flourless chocolate cake made for an incredible feast. The flavors were vibrant and portion sizes perfect for two. I also love that they offer options for people that may have certain dietary/food restrictions. My boyfriend can't have gluten and I couldn't eat meat since it was a Friday during Lent. I will definitely make these recipes again. Looking forward to trying another one of their meal kits and more tacos. #stayinsupportcolumbus #supportlocal

I have taken waaaay too long to finally catch dinner at The Kitchen. I think some subconscious inner voice worked hard to make me assume that this establishment wasn't all that, and more. Perhaps I thought the themed nights were so last year? Why don't they advertise what theyir serving on other nights of the weeks? So cliché? Wrong! Got to The Kitchen about 10 till 6. By 6 pm, there was a steady line formed behind me. This is a popular spot, come every Tuesday. Why? Taco themed night! Every Tuesday you can count on the folks at The Kitchen to curate a fun themed evening of tasty homemade tacos. This evening was benefiting Planned Parenthood. I absolutely flip for communal seating. These long tables are just that -- perfect! An eclectic mix of comfy refreshed chairs and huge tables scream open seating - awesome way to get to know the people around you. The food was decent. The best local food I've ever had? No. Could it just be this time? Sure. Will I pay attention more to the final product, next time, and less on the mental images I'm forming? Yes. My tacos were good. Of course the barbecue pork on the Aloha was the best. I loved the few pineapple chunks. The sweet barbecue sauce was right down my alley. The "Means Family" taco was on the drier side. Couldn't pull out any discerned flavors or tastes. Like it needed either a thicker sauce to accompany, or stuff needed spices/seasoned/marinaded. I got their Laugh side to-go. That was their salmon ceviche dish. Had it the next day. I think I was instead given Celebrate...? Didn't check till I got back home. Here's the thing: There were no tomatoes in my dish; I also couldn't really taste soy-ginger (and I love ginger!)... it could have used more punch. I will definitely return to TK. The themes alone have peaked my interest! 90s music mixtape? Yes. I've also heard great things about their quesadillas, so perhaps a swerve from the normal.

Baking macarons is a tricky thing and Damaris did such a good job breaking down all the steps. She gave us lots of tips and tricks for our home baking, and you can see her passion for what she does. That said, I have been to several of the cooking schools in Columbus and this was my least favorite overall attendee experience. It was more expensive, yet very "basic" for lack of a better word. All of the cooking classes I have attended come with some kind of amenities - a welcome cocktail, wine bar, cheese and crackers, hot coffee/tea, etc. Something. This class was three hours long and there was nothing offered but water and iced tea (on a 20 degree day). We also did not receive any kind of information prior to the class, so parking was like solving a mystery (hint: the parking lot is behind the house down a side alleyway)

So first off I want to say I am glad my husband purchased me this gift. In theory cooking with tea…read moresounded like the coolest thing ever and it was a very thoughtful gift, but the actual experience was a bit lackluster. The Seasoned Farmhouse is a beautiful space, but the cooking class was just okay. I unfortunately didn't learn any new skills and the main reason for this review being so low is because my husband and I got food poisoning at the event. I felt sick as soon as I ate the food and didn't feel better until 24 hours later. I have lots of thoughts on why this happened, that I will explain later. Class + Recipes: The recipes we tried were good. It was a class all about learning how to cook with tea. We made Shaoxing Wine Tea-Poached Chicken with Scallion Oil, Sweet Tea-Brined Roast Chicken, Salad Greens with Golden Raisin Vinaigrette, Tea-Poached Eggs, Black Tea Poppy Seed Muffins, Earl Grey Tea Cake with Chopped Chocolate and Tea-Infused Cream Cheese Frosting and Roasted Yukon Potato Wedges with Aioli Sauce. The food tasted good and I appreciated the amount of thought that Chef Cindy Ramsey put into creating them. However, I was severely disappointed with the set-up of the class. I've been to 6 cooking classes at other locations and always was assigned to a specific station where each participant would make each dish and learn new cooking skills. This class was set-up where we were given a 20 minute lecture and then told to wash our hands and disperse to focus on different aspects of the meal. For instance I mixed the aioli sauce, iced the cake and teared lettuce leaves. Though we were told to wash our hands, we didn't wear gloves and this is what I believe caused my husband and I to get sick. Cons: Lack of cleanliness. During the demonstrations sometimes the chef would touch raw ingredients like eggs and chicken and would then touch other ingredients that would not be cooked. This leads to cross contamination and should have been avoided on the chefs behalf. In addition, because 10 different people peeled eggs, and various people touched ingredient components that would not be cooked I believe this also may be the cause of getting sick. As a science nerd let me share that we all have a different skin microbiome. Sometimes people carry more of one bacteria on their skin than others. Also depending on the length and cleanliness of finger nails, this also could cause unwanted bacteria on food that was prepared without being cooked. If these bacteria get into the ingredients, some people can get ill from them. Net: PLEASE HAVE ALL PARTICIPANTS WEAR GLOVES WHEN PREPARING FOOD, ESPECIALLY ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE COOKED. I feel like the price of the class was not cheap and hopefully could cover the cost of gloves in the future. Based on this experience, I would not come here again and do not recommend it to someone who is looking for a more traditional style cooking class.

Intrigued (I'm infatuated with places that offer quaint happy hour deals), I quickly bookmarked Quinci, and had been wanting to try their offerings ever since. I follow QE on Insta, and I was completely engulfed in a picture they posted of their current Spring Quiche ANNNNNND the Sicilian Lemon pie. I started salivating immediately, and knew I had the try it. Also, with it being Easter weekend, what better items to show up with at the family table. Yeah, go ahead, I scored on this find. Deborah looks to run the front of house, as she's the lady I kept contact with via the phone to place and pick up my order. She was so polite. She was running the show when I arrived to pick up my goodies and was very thankful for my business. So, Gwen, did you like the quiche and pie? Uhmmmm, let me think ab- YES!!! So fluffing good, both. The quiche was not hot, and Deborah gave verbal recommendations for how to serve it if we wanted it warm; we warmed it in the oven, dear me, it was SO GOOD! I forget the exact components of this pastry, but it had plenty of eeg, spring veggies, it was incredibly decadent! I highly recommend you pay attention to their Insta page for any and all seasonal offerings, then buy one for yourself, and one for me. Thank me later. The Sicilian Lemon pie was enveloped with a flaky, but solid pastry crust - a great dessert to end the meal. Fresh lemon and zest - I can totally tell the difference between the two, and this sweet sensation was for sure the real deal! Fair warning, this was quite rich, and one piece was plenty. Sharing it with the fam and friends was the perfect solution. I was told - a year or so back, they have a Friday happy hour special for $10 that involved a charcuterie board and wine, so damn straight I need to go back to QE and check this out!

Or good for someone who cooks a lot but maybe wants to try and master a recipe. I've made pasta before but it didn't come out near as good as when I made it here. It gave me the opportunity to try out a pasta rolling machine with out having to buy one. Definitely worth buying one by the way if you're wondering. With our pasta we made a flavorful Bolognese sauce and a side salad.
