Taro matcha (left): Yummy! The taro was very fresh and creamy, which complimented the matcha well without overpowering it. It's a new flavor combination for me but I definitely didn't mind it. Rich Uji Matcha (right): I was very excited for this drink because I believe they use Marukyu Koyamaen, but this matcha was way too thick and bitter for my liking. I didn't mind the bitterness because they did warn me that their matcha is naturally less sweet than most places. After trying it at 50% (recommended), I did ask for 25% more sugar which they were very nice about. However, the matcha was still so thick that it almost felt powdery in my mouth, as if it hasn't been whisked fully yet. Overall, I still think Mori's is a great cafe with high quality matcha drinks, but depending on personal preferences this might not be the one for you if you don't like a thick/bitter matcha! read more

I really loved that they added chunks of fresh taro inside the drink, and it doesn't have that purple, artificial flavorings, so the subtle flavors of the fresh taro pairs really well with the matcha! 50% sweetness was perfect for me! - Cloudy matcha ($6.75): also really enjoyed this one! The cheese foam on top was very creamy, but wasn't too overly sweet! I also got this one at 50% sweetness, and it was just right! - Cream brûlée matcha swirl ($6.95): this one was good, but not my favorite of the three drinks; The cream brulee inside the drink was really creamy and had almost a nice pudding flavor! One of the best taro matcha drinks I've ever had! I arrived around 11:45am on a Saturday. There is some parking in the front but it's limited to 30 minutes. There is a parking structure in the back if you prefer to stay longer. The place was very small and there were some people there studying and waiting for their orders. I ordered at the counter and my drink came out a couple minutes shortly. I ordered the taro uji matcha fresh milk at regular sweetness. The matcha was not too bitter or too sweet! The taro was also very good; I like that they made it with ube and you tell the flavors complement each other very well. I also like that it's a a smooth paste which makes it easier to drink. Another thing is they use lactose free milk! Overall a great drink! I will definitely be coming here more, just need to make the drive. Some of the best matcha I've tried in all of OC usually I like it entirely unsweetened but I took the chance to try their ube matcha and still got it extra double matcha and their ube was the perfect amount of sweetness and you can taste real fruits in it. Thanks to @ac.sthetic, we knew about Mori's anniversary and with the flyer from psc.UCI for 15% off uji matcha, strawberry matcha, blueberry matcha, double matcha, and milk teas went to get lunch before work yesterday. We also got a free braised egg with each energy bowl we bought. I ordered a strawberry matcha 75% sweet and a honey & spicy skinless chicken thigh energy grain bowl. My husband asked for an iced matcha tea, but did not specify sweetness so I ordered 50% sweet for him. I should have ordered 25% for him. He hadn't had eel in a while and wanted the eel (unagi) energy grain bowl. The staff member taking my order was very polite and gave excellent service. She held on to my to-go drink for my husband and packed it into the bag with the energy bowls. Utensils and napkins can be gotten at a side station. There was also cucumber lemon water for refreshment. Our drinks came with stickers and menu cards. The drinks also had special anniversary sleeves. My daughter was very happy with her taro berry menu card. I liked my strawberry matcha menu card. With our $20 orders, we each got a raffle ticket for the 3 prizes: 1st prize, Popmart Labubu, 2nd prize, canned matcha powder or matcha bowl set, and 3rd prize, discount vouchers. There is counter space and a couple tables inside. There are a few more tables outside which at most can accommodate 3 people I would say. A few people were taking advantage of the available seating. I was able to drink my strawberry matcha because they use lactose-free milk. My drink was perfect. It was different from other place's strawberry matcha because it was topped with freeze-dry strawberry pebbles. The house-made real strawberry puree is what gives the drink its sweetness. Give the drink a good stir. The energy grain bowl is what a nutritionist would order life coaching a patient/client. It has your grain rice, lots of vegetables in corn, broccoli, roasted cauliflower, bean sprouts, shredded carrots, and celery slices, and your choice of protein. The bowl comes with sesame aioli which I didn't need because it was already tasty. Daughter tried my spicy & honey chicken and didn't think it was spicy enough. It had enough kick for me, but I have a sensitive stomach. I liked her garlic chicken breast. My daughter wants to come back to try the nourishing Osmanthus tremella soup and have the tropical mango matcha. We had parked on the street in a 30-minutes parking space. My only complaint with the dish is that it was kind of oily but nonetheless it's definitely a healthier alternative. The store is super cute but very very small, almost claustrophobic to sit inside. For their menu, they have different rice and salad bowls along with handcrafted tea, matcha, and coffee drinks. Wifey and I pulled up for lunch and got the Eel Energy Grain Bowl, Braised Beef Energy Grain Bowl, and the Mung Bean Smoothie and Taro Uji Matcha Fresh Milk for our drinks. Everything we had tasted fresh, healthy, and delicious! Overall, this spot is a great blend of Asian flavors with healthy adaptations. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Cute little hidden gem tucked in between high rise apartment buildings off Jamboree. 1st 2 hours of parking are free and we were able to find a spot right away without having to park in a structure. Cafe was clean. Limited seating so counter ordering is your best option to order and go. Love that they use lactose-free milk. Very few places do, because my daughter has an intolerance to lactose. We ordered the Double Matcha with Cheese Foam and Taroberry Matcha. You can choose the level of sweetness of your drink, but they only serve one size.
