Guava matcha
Leo F.

Very consistent with their matcha, even though it's already pre made it still taste fresh. I like how you can customize the sweetness level The girl working here recommended their new guava drink and it was so good. Guava was not overpowering, it was a hint of fresh guava and good matcha flavor all well balanced

Crème brûlée 4/5 super yummy Taroberry matcha 3.5/5 Matcha flavor is good and smooth. The only downside is the straw!! Makes it hard to mix the drinks! But otherwise the interior is cute and comfortable and service was quick and efficient.

Mori's is a cute place for small hangouts or just to stop by for a quick drink. I got the banana cream hojicha. I was really excited to try their new series as I saw so many people try out their matcha. I always love a good hojicha latte, I wouldn't say the banana flavoring is too strong compared to other banana drinks I've ordered in the past. I also like it when the hojicha has a stronger roasted flavor, and I didn't feel like I got it as much. However, my drink was still really good, and I'd definitely come back to try their other drinks. Service was limited and got my drink out somewhat quickly as it was busy the night I went. Warning : there's little parking available around the area so I wouldn't try to plan to sit down anywhere or stay for such a long time

Taro Fresh Milk

I see this place a lot and my friend and I were enticed by the menu so we came inside to order. It's a small quaint shop with a wide variety of food and drinks. I ordered the taro fresh milk and my friend ordered the house cold brew. I've tried many taro drinks and this was probably the worst one. It just tasted like milk but had the texture of coconut shavings. I attempted to mix everything on my drive, but it was all clumped at the bottom so I couldn't mix it until I got home. Even then it still wasn't good. I'm not sure if that's just how they handcraft their ube/taro but I personally was not a fan. For my friend, she said her house cold brew was alright, not too strong. Now that might have just been our experience so if you want to try for yourself, please do, but I will not be returning here personally.

hojicha

came here at opening for the hojicha latte. i like that they have lactose free milk options here! i got it extra creamy and at their recommended sweetness. given the color of the hojicha, i was expecting a very strong flavor but it was a little muted. i wish it had a bit more flavor but maybe it's also because i prefer a slightly sweeter hojicha. next time ill have to try it with a bit more sweetness. service was good, the girl was bombarded with a few orders at once but she was quick! inside has a couple of places to stand and wait for your drink but not really sit.

I was fairly disappointed. They emphasized on their matcha but it wasn't even ceremonial. When we asked about the grade of their matcha, they didn't seem to know... The dessert was alright. Nothing spectacular. Appeared to be ideal for students to grab food and/drink and study.

Shizouka - Banana Cream Matcha 香蕉芝士抹茶 Double Matcha 双倍浓抹
Cristina S.

The Shizuoka banana cream matcha I ordered has a bitter taste on it while the double matcha was pretty good. Both are customized to 50% sweetness. Service is okay. There's some chairs inside and outside if you want to stay for a bit longer.

The matcha drinks here are really strong so perfect for anyone who appreciates that true matcha flavor. I can't wait to try more of the drink menu besides the matcha double cream top I got. We also tried the spicy honey chicken which tasted light and healthy. I appreciated how many different veggies were in a single bowl. We parked in front in a 30 min spot. Food and drinks came out fast. Very limited but some seating

Funny enough, my partner and I saw a video of their matcha so we drove to try it! Their shop was very cute, tucked away by a few apartment buildings, making it a great place for an afternoon matcha. We saw a few people in there studying and some even relaxing with their pets! Their regular matcha had very good ceremonial matcha and was very high quality. I don't like my matcha too sweet and they made it exactly how I liked it. Their strawberry matcha latte was also very good! The standout for that drink was how delicious the strawberry puree is!

Ceremonial Uji Matcha Latte

I've tried 3-4 drinks here and they've been consistently good. Not overtly sweet. My favorite has been the strawberry matcha. I'd love to try their food next time!

* drinks are made using marukyu koyamaen matcha, artisan tea, house-roasted coffee, and handcrafted taro and ube paste * most drinks are made using lactose-free milk (free to switch to regular whole milk) * my go-to's are their Taro Matcha Fresh Milk, Assam Black Milk Tea, and Banana Hojicha Oat Latte * menu also has options for oriental herbal desserts, kale green juice, sandwiches, salads, soba noodles, and energy grain bowls * one of my favorite cafes for fresh and healthy grab-and-go meals and dessert! 8.5/10

This place is more known for its food and now is leaning towards their drink menu. I happened to be in the area and wanted to give the matcha a try. They use Maru Koyamaen which is known for their high-quality matcha & lactose free milk without a charge. Already a plus in my books! The barista asked how strong I wanted my matcha and I chose "Rich" since it was the most popular. My drink had a beautiful rich green color that meets my matcha standards. Will be back to try the highest level of their matcha latte!

pretty unsuspecting cafe, I'd never heard of Mori's until a friend recommended it to me as her favorite matcha spot in Irvine. I ordered the Uji matcha latte, 75% sweet, with richness and oat milk. I was blown away! It was so simple but still hit all the right notes. It was light, mildly sweet (perfect balance where it's not overly sweet but also doesn't have the grassy taste), and yet still creamy. I loved this drink and would totally get it again.

This location is much closer to home, so I visited one afternoon when craving their cookies. The interior is modern, classy-bougie, with 4 tables and a large cushy chair. I ordered two cookies, the chocolate chip walnut and peanut butter chocolate, along with an iced horchata latte. I sat at one of the tables, opened the box my cookies were presented in, and found myself in cookie ecstasy. The cookies are fat mountains of deliciousness. Slightly crisp outside and soft inside (note: even softer if taken home and warmed up). The chocolate chip was crammed full of chips and the walnuts were in tiny bits to keep the cookie's texture soft. The chocolate cookie was also enormous and had an abundance of peanut butter chips. Both were superb. The horchata latte had just enough ice to keep it cold. It had a bold flavor of cinnamon which I loved. Staff here were friendly, efficient, and speedy. I like the vibe of this place but like their cookies even more.

I only wanted the latte but these cookies were callin me, so of course I had to pick up that phone! First the service. 5* - The one customer in front of me was being indecisive and took way too long, but this is not the faultof the restaurant. What I loved is that the person behind the counter was super genuine and nice. She saw I was waiting patiently for the customer and went above and beyond to help me bypass the wait. I chose to be patient as I wasn't in a rush. Thank you though! The Latte 5* - Sea Salt Caramel Latte. I picked something I've had many times before and mostly just wanted the caffeine. Absolutely wonderful latte. The foam, the caramel, the coffee. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. The Cookies - Cookies-n-cream 5*. This blew me away. Its their most popular item. There were samples and before I could stop myself, I had 3 samples. Lol so gooood! Warmed my cookie up when I got home and it got even better than 5*. - Pistachio Cookie 5* This was so good. If it had a chocolate shell on the outside it would've been a Dubai Chocolate Cookie and sold for 3x the price. ( Hint hint Paderia! ) I love how both cookies were exactly the same in chewy texture and quality, and so different in flavor and experience. So good I ate both in one day. Keep it up, Madeira! Ill be back!

KRISP is an interesting place in that it was very busy, but I didn't see a single person content with their order, and multiple people coming to the counter to address issues they had with their order (myself included). The staff are nice, but they definitely seemed overwhelmed and on their back foot trying to keep up with everyone. They use a digital kiosk for ordering which can be convenient, but is frustrating to use when you find out that the things you ordered are out of stock after you've paid and waited for the items (which happened to me). The shop itself has indoor and outdoor seating, but the layout makes the entrance get congested because you're picking up your order where people are entering which isn't ideal. On the food and beverage front, we tried a bunch of stuff: Blueberry Matcha and Strawberry Matcha: The blueberry matcha is extremely sweet (they said it's their sweetest matcha), and the strawberry matcha isn't far behind that. My biggest issue is their matches are all pre-sweetened, so you can't even adjust the sweetness because it's in their matcha already. The term "organic ceremonial grade Uji matcha" should have never been used for pre-sweetened matcha like this, because it was a disgrace to the term. KRISP Breakfast Burrito: These burritos are pre-made and delivered by a third party and then nuked in a microwave before serving. It's the same thing you'd get at most other coffee shops (ie Alfred). The red salsa it comes with is great though, but the burrito is just fine considering what it is. Almond Croissant: oh man I really wanted to like this, especially since I saw how much almond filling they used. Unfortunately the filling was completely bland, so there wasn't much almond going on with this. Ham & Cheese Croissant: This was also bland, and looked like someone had stepped on it. Just a real sad state of affairs. Berry Orchard Açaí Bowl: Probably the best thing we got, but I hate how they serve it in one of those parfait cups because all the contents keeps spilling out as you eat it. I wish it was in an actual bowl so you can eat it without losing half the toppings to the ground. Overall, I don't see a reason to come back here, and really don't think it's worth the cost given the quality of everything. As others have said, there's a lot of solid options in the area that deserve your patronage over this place.
