Parker house rolls

I had the best birthday dinner, great service, smiles from everyone, lovely evening and really good food! The restaurant is nicely lit, elegant and located at the XV Beacon Hotel. The lobster bisque was good, as well as the complimentary bread. The stars of the evening for me were the ribeye and summer corn. The ribeye was cooked to my liking and the summer corn with mushrooms was a great addition to my meal. I've never had corn prepared with mushrooms, but I love corn and mushrooms, so this was perfect for me. The game hen was also a favorite at the table. The night ended with chocolate covered marshmallows as a birthday surprise and it was a great end to my evening. I will return if I'm in Boston in the future. Definitely worth a visit.

Not all the items purchased are pictured... but what you see was FAB. We started with the calamari & exotic mushrooms, the shrooms could use a bit more umph in the flavor but overall still tasty. Shoutout our server Lucas, as well as the other staff members who catered to us continuously with water refills/table clearings. We also grabbed a quick drink at the bar before the dinner service began and those too were delicious. Also big thanks to the GM, Andrew, for checking in as we were wrapping up to introduce himself and hear some feedback. Definitely check it out if you're in the area! Worth every penny.

We had a reservation for lunch on a Tuesday and the place was pretty empty. However, the food and service was really good! I got the grilled cheese panini and the truffle fries that came on the side were the star of the show. They handled my husband's gluten and dairy allergies like a champ. He enjoyed his filet but said it was an 8.5/10 for him. His favorite dish was the broccolini. Would return for a lunch

I had an unforgettable birthday lunch at this restaurant. The food was fantastic. The house bread was so delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked. The red wine that our server suggested paired perfectly with the steak. My birthday cake was mouth watering (your thoughtfulness and generosity was much appreciated). Our server was very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. The ambiance was quiet and romantic. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and would love to come back.

Made a rez on Open Table and called to request a bar seat cause we wanted to watch the Celtics playoffs. They said the seats were reserved but check-in was smooth and we got sat a few mins ahead of our rez time. Our bartender came over right away and was friendly. We ordered a couple of cocktails and they were tasty - old fashioned and devil's advocate. Overall, service was spectacular- we had several people check in on us throughout our dinner. We ordered our food and they brought out bread to start - the Parker House rolls at Mooo are the best in Boston. Dinner came and everything was delicious- I ordered the salmon plate and my hubby the lobster. We shared sides of carrots, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. Everything was super tasty per usual. I asked for my salmon well done and that it was - maybe even a little more than I expected but it didn't detract from my experience. The ambiance is a more relaxed - regulars vibe. Seating starts right when you walk in - there isn't really a grand entrance so to speak. I am comparing to Mooo Fort Point BTW. The bar only had one TV and Red Sox game was on. No biggie - I checked the game from my phone. Overall, it was a great dinner experience. If you're looking for a more relaxed vibe to have a nice celebration, this is the Mooo is for you!

Incredible steakhouse. 10000/10. Food was off the charts! Loved the moody atmosphere as well. The cookies and milk dessert is super cute and delish- we were absolutely stuffed but had to order anyways because loved the idea on a menu - who doesnt want to end the night with some milk and cookies!? Cant wait to come back.

This is really between a 4-4-5. We had a great experience at Moo! It is one of the few steakhouses in Boston that we will visit again. The vibe was cool. Some patrons were dressed a bit more casual than I expected, but overall, it still presented as a nice restaurant. The 2 seater tables were a little tight but bearable. I cant have gluten, so I was over the moon that there were so many gluten free options, including the rolls, which were really great and soft. The drinks also pretty good. Strong and tasty. The food was great. I highly recommend the chicken! It might be the best thing on the menu. I expected the server to recommend the much more expensive lamb chops, but the chicken far exceeds the lamb. The sauce was great and the Chicken was tender with great seasoning. The steak was cooked really well. The carrots were good but a bit overpriced for only 2 large carrots. I loved that there were GF dessert options and the complimentary dessert was GF, which is thoughtful and didn't sacrifice taste. The only issue was our service was lacking. Our server treated us like we were wasting his time, which was a bit off putting for the amount of money we were spending. Other than the service, everything was great and we'd visit again.

Crispy Calamari

We had dinner at this restaurant through in room dining in our hotel room. The food was so freaking delicious, we wished that we had dined in the dining room, for maximum freshness. That doesn't mean that our food wasn't fresh, because it absolutely was, but I would have loved to get that calamari piping hot and super crisp. The highlights were absolutely the bread service and the carpaccio. We ordered steak frites and the steak was cooked perfectly, even though it was a thinner cut. The butter that came with the steak, served in a ceramic that made it look like bone marrow, was out of control delicious and I used it with my rolls and my steak and my fries. We also had breakfast in the restaurant a few days. The service is impeccable, along with the incredible food. The breakfast selection was really nice and everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant is also really pretty, with very comfortable chairs and nice spacing between tables.

I don't even know where to start on what a wonderful experience we had at Mooo. From the perfectly crafted drinks at the bar, to a truly indulgent, spectacular dinner, culminating with dessert, perfection, and a beautiful dessert wine. Everything was absolutely perfect. We indulged with the American Wagyu cap steak, with a trio of sides, plus tots and onion rings. We started with wagyu dumplings, bone marrow, shrimp, cocktail, and calamari. Ended with crème brûlée, an amazing updated take on bananas foster, cookies and milk, and some beautiful bourbons and wines. The service was excellent and the restaurant is so warm and inviting, not stuffy like so many steakhouses. Very approachable. They even had a sweet custom birthday menu! Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish.

Prime ribeye

We came here for a special occasion and it did not disappoint. The service was fantastic. We were seated immediately, waters constantly refilled, and food came out pretty quickly. For food, we got the prime ribeye with lobster, sea salt fries, and steamed asparagus. It was the perfect amount of food for the two us to leave stuffed after coming in hungry. The best dish of the night for us was the lobster, which was perfectly tender, well cooked, and delicious. The steak was definitely cooked expertly, but next time we would try a more unique option to get the full steakhouse experience. It was also a nice touch that they prepared chocolate lettering on our dessert plate for our special occasion. I would definitely come back again for another great experience.

We came to Mooo after seeing it on Beli's top restaurants in Boston list, and hearing about their oysters from a friend! We were here to celebrate our anniversary and it was a pretty great experience. I'd definitely recommend making reservations. They also gave us a personalized menu which was sweet. FOOD: + Complimentary bread (4/5): very fluffy! I was a big fan of the bits of flaky salt on the bread. + Lobster bisque (4/5): They were kind to split the order into two portions! We got our own small pastry because of it (vs. it being in one large bowl with one large pastry) which was super cute lol. + Prime bone-in dry aged ribeye (4/5): The meat was tender and a perfect medium rare! They also cut this into smaller pieces for us to make it easier for sharing. I think it was definitely a lot for the two of us but I'd probably order a diff steak in the future. + East coast oysters (4/5): Also delicious! The oysters didn't quite exceed my expectations as much as I thought they would, but they were still good. + Creme brulee (4/5): very rich, a bit too sweet, but the crust was made perfectly! Overall, it was a great experience!! The food and service were both good, but nothing quite gave me that "ooh" factor that'd make me want to come back. Perfect for a date night!

The service here is OUTSTANDING. I cannot say enough good things about every single person who served us. The bread is delicious. All my drinks were fabulous. The lobster Mac and cheese is a can't miss.

A very popular, long-established Greek restaurant in Boston. Last time I walked in and was told…read morethere would be a two-hour wait, but this time I made a reservation and finally got to enjoy a delicious meal! Tiropita Rolls: Very straightforwardly delicious. The bread was warm, soft, and airy, with a rich aroma of butter and cheese; the spread was a rich blend of honey butter, and olives, sweet and delicious, perfect as an appetizer. Tzatziki: A slight disappointment. The cucumber and Greek yogurt spread was surprisingly heavy, a bit cloying, and the pickled kumquats weren't as sweet as I expected, but rather had a slightly bitter taste. The pita bread was thick and soft, probably better suited for dipping in soup--like Bourdeto--than for the spread. Bourdeto: The tomato fish soup was a pleasant surprise. The freshly caught grouper of the day was thick and tender, lightly seared to create a crispy crust. The broth was a vibrant, tangy tomato base, with onions, fennels, and red peppers contributing a sweet, layered flavor. Trahanas, fermented wheat and dairy, added richness and a smooth texture to the soup. The broth also had a slight spiciness, making it incredibly comforting on a chilly autumn day. Portokalopita: The dessert that elevated the entire meal. A traditional Greek orange phyllo, the cake, made from crumbs of phyllo pastry, becomes incredibly soft and moist after being soaked in orange syrup. Every bite was bursting with rich orange sweetness and fragrance, followed by a slightly bitter orange zest--perfectly balanced. Paired with Manouri cheese ice cream, the creamy flavor was incredibly rich and creamy, creating a harmonious and layered flavor profile.

We chose to sit outside; it was a chilly fall evening when we went last year, but we got some lap blankets which was a nice touch, so brownie points for service. My friend and I split the pastitsio (meat pasta dish), kotopoulo (a chicken dish), louza charcuterie, and tiropita (halloumi rolls). The rolls were stuffed with halloumi and were dense in the best way possible. Coupled with the louza charcuterie, the appetizers were a hit. The two entrees were small but mighty - they were packed with rich meats but also featured microgreens, herbs, and other tangy, bold flavors that really balanced the dishes. We got some glasses of Greek orange wine that I can't remember the name of but it paired excellently with the food per our waitress's recommendation. Overall, a solid Greek option if you're in Back Bay! But definitely make a reservation if you can.

Nice dab of caviar on the cucumber sandwich. Drink: we had the mango and greens spritz to start off. So fleshing and subtly complex. So, I decided to treat myself to a solo lunch. I began with the mixto ceviche, which was a refreshing and vibrant dish. The fish was exceptionally flavorful and perfectly complemented the onion and peppers. The shrimp was fresh, full of flavor, while the octopus was a bit tough, still enjoyable. The sauce was a tad heavy and thick for my taste, and the portion size was a bit small considering the price. On the bright side, the chips were light and incredibly tasty. I also ordered the Costillas de Cerdo. The sauce was excellent, and a few bites were oh so good. The disappointment came in the ribs themselves -- the meat didn't come off the bone easily, which made working through the dish more effort than it should have been. This place truly impressed me with its exceptional service, especially considering my allergies. My server proactively approached the kitchen and communicated directly with them, demonstrating remarkable attentiveness and care. Their prompt response and willingness to accommodate my needs without any hassle made a significant difference. The friendly and accommodating nature of the server throughout the entire dining experience made it feel effortless to enjoy a solo meal. Three stars for now -- great flavors and genuinely caring service, with a few misses on execution and portion for the price.

I suppose given its smallish size, you could consider it a cafe... small in size, smallish in menu, big in variety, flavor, service. It works, no one around us seemed rushed to get through their dinners. Cocktails are limited but delicious. The menu is somewhat small as well. Instead, I went with an evening special, lamb chops and sauteed spinach on a bed of pureed parsnip. We also asked for an appetizer of their brussels sprouts to be served as a side. The waitress said sure, but the sprouts still came out quite a bit before our meals. We said we'd be good and have only one each and save the rest for dinner. FAIL! Crisped just right, served with celery salad, and a properly spicy sauce, I think we finished them in less than 3 minutes. The dinners were equally satisfying. We passed on dessert foods and drinks, but if we had had room, there were lots of tempting items. Because of the restaurant's size, reservations are not a bad idea at busier times.
