Woods Hill provides locally sourced, highest quality, amazingly delicious food. We had the halibut which was flavored with subtle summer herbs. Dinner was extremely fresh and exceptional. We ended with their house prepared vanilla ice cream. This meal made for an unforgettable night at our visit to the seaport. Outdoor dining patio provides a lovely view of the boats passing and the vibrant pier. Bravo to the chef and staff!
Came here because they are Michelin recommended. Well, to me it's a bit over stated. The price is not cheap for sure. The whole meal per person is $90. I got one drink (balance and composure). It pretty Mexican and that is exactly the theme of the drink. I like it. CRISPY LAMB RIBS - the best dish of the day. The lamb is pretty tender inside and crispy outside. But it's only tender inside for the meaty ribs. For ribs that have little meat, then it's more in the crispy side. The sauce is pretty good too. SMOKED MUSHROOM TOAST - it's ok. It tastes like breakfast food. The mushroom flavor is mild. Nothing special. SQUID INK CASARECCE - they have a bit of the lobster and crab meat and tomatoes. The sauce is pretty good. The squid ink pasta itself is thick and al dente. But it has no taste and it doesn't stick with the sauce too much. If they had made it thinner, that would be better. LOCAL HALIBUT - most expensive but worst dish today. The halibut is firm and dry. The scallion pancake is not the Asian version. It has very mild scallion flavor and it's very starchy. It's very dry as well. In general, this dish is horribly designed. It's super dry in general and they should have combined it with some sauce. The dish portion is small and they recommend 2-3 dishes per person. I think 2 dishes are enough for me. Service is pretty good. They cleaned the table pretty well and they cleaned every time when the dishes changed. Value wise, I don't think I'll come back here. The food taste doesn't justify the cost.
Lovely services - we mentioned in our reservation it was for an anniversary and both the hostess and waiter acknowledge this! We even got a glass of champagne, which was a really nice touch. All the food was fantastic... we had the carrot hummus, charred broccoli, short rib, and oysters. Would definitely return!
We booked a reservation for 11am to try their brunch. The hosts were wonderful, they even check your coats. Our waitress was also very sweet in giving us recommendations. It's right on the pier so you get a nice view of the water. Food came out about 15 minutes after ordering and the plating made it look delicious! I got the short rib hash, it was soooo yummy! The sweet potatoes were my favorite part but everything complimented each other very well! My partner got the farmer's breakfast. Pretty straightforward but their sausages were the star on this one! Probably the best we have had. We would definitely come back again to try their dinner menu if we are in Boston!
Only reviewing their bar $1 oyster deal on Sunday & Monday. This is an upscale restaurant so glad we were able to snag bar seats. We were a group of 5 and the deal said a dozen per person by we were allowed to get 72! The staff was friendly & I think they were happy people were finally coming in to actually partake in their happy hour since everyone else at the bar was eating main course meals. These oysters were fresh & meaty. The view of the water outside of the bar window made the experience even better. I definitely recommend this happy hour oyster spot!
Fantastic restaurant in Seaport, great selection of food choices and a nice ambience. After reading the food menu and finding many of the items on the menu appealing, I really wanted to check this place out. The waiter advised us the menu was sort of like a choose your own tasting menu and recommended 2-4 plates per person. I do think some of the plates are more main course and some are more appetizer, I'm not sure why they don't split them out that way. Would recommend checking with the staff to see if you've ordered too much or not enough. All the food we had was great, and I really enjoyed the selection of plates. The lamb ribs were a standout on flavor and texture. Really unique, unlike any lamb dish I've ever had before. They were definitely on the fattier side though, so keep that in mind. The steak tartare was good, a nice sized portion. It could have used a bit more crusty bread to go along with it, but the house bread made a fine substitute here. Overall the flavor was a bit weak here too, think honestly even a pinch of salt would have gone a long way here, probably would go with something else next time. The amatriciana was fantastic. Really nice amount of sauce. Touch of spice. Little chunks of crisp yet chewy guanciale. The pasta was a bit overcooked actually, but again not too much to complain about here. Biggest standout was the hanger steak. Really tender, bold in flavor. The mushroom that came with it was incredible. It was actually cross-hatched, which I've never seen before. Really nice accoutrement. Additionally the leek latke was a fun side, really tasty, though a tad salty. I had the 1875 cocktail, and really enjoyed this spirit forward cocktail which was well balanced and a better twist on a manhattan vibe. I thought about ordering another cocktail but when asking the waiter about another, he seemed confused at my request for something spirit forward. He suggested a drink, but then also said it was nothing like my first drink which is what I actually wanted. Skipped the second drink and just went for a beer instead. Overall really enjoyed the meal. Definitely a bit on the pricier side, so keep that in mind that you're ordering a handful of plates and not just 2. Some small adjustments in the kitchen and with the staff I think would really make this place shine. But certainly a place I'd love to come back to and try some other things off the menu.
Got a private room for around 20 people. Nice server but they messed up our order quite a lot, they kept giving people the wrong dishes it was almost comical. Lobster appetizer rolls were delicious. I had ordered the lamb leg but it was not cooked well, super chewy, I had to spit it out, couldn't get a good piece in. Other colleagues said the steak frites were good. The only dish I'd come back for is the whipped feta, flavor and texture was perfection
Dinner is always fantastic here! We wanted to try their fall menu and overall it was pretty tasty. For starters, my hubby ordered the oysters and we shared the salad with tahini dressing and apples. It was OK but I didn't love it. I wasn't a fan of the tahini dressing. They brought out bread which was delicious. My hubby ordered the tagliolini pasta with the seafood and I ordered the ham hock croquettes and crostini. The croquettes were my favorite. I did not care for the crostini because the bread was too thick and not toasted at all. I think it was the same bread as the one they brought with the butter. Our drinks were super tasty and refreshing. My hubby ordered the seasonal drink which was a pumpkin old fashioned and I had the balance and composure. We took a dessert home and it was OK-it was the blueberry cornbread shortcake-it was tasty but heavier than I expected. All in all, we had a fun evening and enjoyed our meal. Make sure to make a reservation thru Resy so you don't have to wait! This place is usually busy on the weekends.
This is a great place to visit for great vibes, waterfront views, excellent service and farm to table quality food. I came here for brunch with a friend and really enjoyed it. I got the lamb shoulder hash and she got the steak & eggs. I wish there were more significant pieces of lamb in the hash - lamb was really shredded and mixed in with the sweet potato. However the food quality was top notch - you can tell it's farm to table and I ate the whole thing. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list and provided great service. A couple of things to note - the portion sizes were smaller and there was no coffee on the brunch menu - maybe they do serve coffee and it's just not on the menu. I was in the mood for a coffee with my brunch so that was a bummer. Based on the quality of the food, I'm sure the dinner here is probably great and this is a place worth revisiting for dinner service.

Food is absolutely delicious, even the complimentary bread and butter are tasty too We ordered the squid ink pasta, grilled salmon, and the short ribs. The short ribs taste soo good and highly recommend! Service is average, our server is not super attentive and kinda has a weird attitude, which is the reason why I'm only giving it a 4 stars instead of 5.
Definitely late to the game here, but this place is amazing. Came for brunch recently with my husband on a slow winter day and had a lovely meal. Started with the patisserie basket which was amazing. Each pastry was perfect, no notes. The pastries are served with butter and two amazing fruit spreads, definitely elevated an already incredible item. I had a cocktail and hot coffee, cocktail was bright and refreshing and the hot coffee was fantastic (I feel like a lot of restaurants don't have good coffee and this was not the case here). I had the smashburger for my entree which was very cheesy and had a great sauce. I really appreciate that the sesame bun did not disintegrate and held up well. Fries were very tasty and a very generous portion. Service was excellent, this place feels both high end and cozy at the same time, the service definitely matched. The space is stunning, excellent views of the water and I can't wait to come back in the summer. The one sour spot was the chairs. I feel terrible for bringing it up, but that's how uncomfortable the chairs are. They have a very deep seat and a slanted back, so you end up sitting perched on the edge of the chair. I am on the short side (5'4") but both my husband and I struggled to get comfortable. If you are over 6 feet I feel like you wouldn't notice any issues. Some of the tables have cushioned benches which are likely more comfortable. Hopefully outdoor seating is different.
Had a reservation for dinner with special friends. Our collective first time there. Service and ambiance were excellent though it would've been perfect if the weather cooperated. Their menu is a small plates approach but many are priced at entree range so this is a very expensive meal overall. They recommended 2-3 dishes per person which was close in our experience. Likely 2 pp fine. The food was delicious with some standouts being the tilefish crudo, special heirloom tomato salad, lamb ribs, feta dip, and squid ink pasta (very seafood forward). Drinks were also very good including the mocktails.
Came here for a birthday and had a lovely time! We arrived with a reservation and got seated quickly. The place was a bit busy, but it was a Thursday evening so clientele seemed more skewed towards folks on business dinners. Nonetheless, the vibe felt modern, sleek, and the view near the water was very nice. Menu had an eclectic selection of small plates, all of which were delicious. A bit small, but quality was apparent and everything was well-made as well as intentional with presentation and taste. The duck in particular was amazing, would definitely recommend that. Dessert and drinks were also phenomenal - amazing! We had a great time and would be happy to return. Price was a bit steep so it feels more like a come for events spot, but it was great nonetheless - thanks, Woods Hill Pier 4! read more

One of the best vegetarian options in the city. The broccoli and the celery root were fantastic. The bread is delicious. Service was good, if not a bit cold. read more

This restaurant is quite cozy. I love the booth seating and the layout of the place. We were greeted right away upon entering. We had reservation and didn't have to wait long. Food is in smaller portion, meant to be shared. I ordered an espresso martini and it was great. Some dishes were amazing and just have enough flavors. A few of the dishes were okay. I would love to come back in the summer so we can take a walk on the pier after dinner. It's a great location for a date night. read more

Hadn't been here for a number of years, came for the crispy lamb which did not disappoint. Scottish salmon plancha and the aged duck breast (I'm not usually a duck person) were also good. The sourdough bread was delicious. Scallop crudo was beautifully plated but otherwise didn't stand out. Bit disappointed in the squid ink pasta- the flavors did not really come through for me. Service was good- we were seated outside originally but they let us take another table inside since the sun was beating down on us. Beautiful dining space - sort of casually upscale with a good view of the water. For a party of 3 (all ladies), the recommended 2 plates each was a bit too much - adjust accordingly. read more

No better way to beat the cold than with the hot chocolate cart here. So fun and such a good idea (also incredibly tasty). The marshmallows they make changed my life, a store bought marshmallow will never compare. Food was also to die for!! I got the short rib hash and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs. So many fun flavors that work so well together. Fun location on the pier and had a quaint vibe for being a decently sized place. Service was great, very attentive and never let us run out of water, did I mention they make your hot chocolate table side!! 10/10, no notes. read more

Woods Hill Pier 4 is your next date night spot in the Seaport! If you had a choose one restaurant that had it all, ambiance, food, view,...it would be Woods Hill Pier 4. Seaport is a bustling neighborhood filled with many restaurants to choose from. But, do they all offer the same thing? Woods Hill Pier 4 is a restaurant that is right on the water and the ambiance is over the top. It has the decor and ambiance that you don't want to miss. We have had brunch here before but this time we came for after dinner drinks and dessert. I ordered their Tawny Port and my husband had their Espresso Martini. Both were fantastic and went perfectly with our desserts which were Pumpkin Cheesecake, and Choc. Olive Oil Cake. I mean how can you decide between the 2? You don't, you order both! :) Our bartender was so friendly and personable, we could've stayed the night..."is there a place I can sleep"? LOL!! I love everything about Woods Hill Pier 4 and if you haven't been I highly recommend checking them out. You will blown away by everything. I know you will enjoy it so much that you will be back just like us. Cheers! read more
This is a fancy place! The seaport is part of the ambiance. What I love about this place is that everything is an option. Great seafood towers and shareable. Treat it like an upscale tapas and order delectable salads, pasta dishes and great plates of steak, ribs and pork chops. I had the pork chop with bokchoy and it was perfect for one with their mixed green salads with a margarita. The free table bread was like a sugar coated challah bread that was the perfect starter for your carb lovers. It was so delicious. Of course the service is impeccable and the decor is rich! I love this place and will not only come back but make it my go to. I will be bringing people here and celebrating birthdays for sure. Desserts are so rich, I took one bite and too the rest home! The texture of the sticky apple cake gave me the most sensorial experience to end my night. I had a margarita that was mixed just right and didn't send me stumbling out the door - a sign of an outstanding mix chemist. I love this restaurant. And I am in a diet! read more
Okay, full disclosure, I used to go to Anthony's Pier 4 back in the day...so I was intrigued to revisit the area. Multiple sources recommended Woods Hill when I asked where to eat in Boston so I figured the food would be good plus I'd get to see the waterfront spot again. The entire area is stunning. The ICA building, Mass Mutual building...ceiling to floor windows enable you to see not only the beautiful buildings, but also the boats going by... The service was outstanding. The sommelier guided us to delicious wines that pared well with the dishes we ordered. A special was the hand pulled burrata which we ordered along with the green goddess and the kale salad to start. Yummy! Three of us had the cod which was amazing, especially with the evoo mashed potatoes. The fourth in our party had the bucatini which was also a treat. Portions are good, substantial but not too big which is rare these days. All topped off with the carrot cake...another hit. Glad we went and we'll be back! read more
Really beautiful restaurant on Pier 4 with amazing bar, ocean views, and chic inside dining room. Service was super friendly but a little slow at times. They happily accommodated my request for a Hugo spritz and it was perfect. They have many small plate options and larger entrees, but my boyfriend and I decided to share the broccoli, lamb ribs and stew. Broccoli was great with the garlic aioli on top, but felt it was a little tough and just smothered in sauce to hide the vegetable. Lamb ribs were the star of the show, super crispy with this delicious sauce that I have no idea honestly what was in it! Hanger steak hit the spot, cooked perfectly to medium rare and served with broccoli. Overall it was a very satisfying meal with no complaints about food or the atmosphere. Definitely on the pricier side (as is most of the seaport) so would save coming back for a nice celebratory dinner or date night spot. read more

Yaaaaa everything was 5* until entrees came out and I had 3, yes 3 slices of duck breast. When you order a "duck breast" you expect a full duck breast not HALF a duck breast. Left a sour taste with me. I had been for brunch and enjoyed full portion steak and eggs. But the half portion entrees was off putting and wannabe "Michelin". Steak tartare is amazing. I am already a Chef Charlie fan. Starting with their flagship restaurants in West Concord - Woods Hill Table and Adelitas. The owner, Christina's farm to table, responsible farming, care for the planet and care for how we feed ourselves is vividly shared with the simplicity and elegance that Charlie puts into his menus. This visit was a colab with the American Lamb folks, who up to covid brought us Lamb Jam, and Grigich Hills Estate wines. During Lamb Jam-ish events, restaurants are gifted American Lamb and put to the test. 4 exquisite Grigich wines and pairings, Lamb swag and a memorable meal. Family-style was not my thing, but they made it work. Passed plates included chilled lobster, parsnips with lamb bacon (LAMB LARDONS MMMMMM) and a BEAUTIFUL arugula salad lightly dressed, laying on killer walnut tahini and blue cheese/walnut prosciutto wrapped dates. OH and those cheese puffs. Yea. He hit it hard. Then he surprised us with these dainty and MESSY sticky lamb ribs... OOOOHHHHH YEAH! Family style lamb shoulder that melted in your mouth, pommes Anna exquisitely crispy and creamy (from the potato) cooked in lamb fat was simplistic decadence. SO delicious (you should be sad you weren't there. IT WAS KILLER!) and grilled gem lettuce with labneh. HEAVEN! Grigich's not syrupy and restrainly sweet dessert wine sat besides a beautiful olive oil cake that also wasn't slap-you-in-sugar. Just beautiful. Lamb is currently the Napa Valley landscapping power keeping the soils fertilized and manicured. The symbionic relationship between the shepards and the vinters is an act of art. What isn't is the fact that the USA has not warmed up to lamb because of Mary. I don't think kids like to hear about how grandma slaughtered and roasted the little lamb. A sustainable and healthy protein enjoyed across the planet, US lamb should take its place on our plates. I'm ok BBQ the lamb for Mary. You should too. Woods Hill Table Pier 4 did not disappoint. Decent place. Unfortunately, we were baking in the sun, which hits the place directly and they don't have umbrellas. The burrito red wine was OK and service was good. I think it was just really uncomfortable because of the sun which of course it's not the fault of the Restaurant other than they could have umbrellas out there. Further, they sat us at a table and didn't even ask us if we were eating or not. After we ordered our drinks, they let us know we couldn't sit at the table if we weren't ordering food. An INCREDIBLE dinner at Woods Hill Pier 4. This restaurant is in a prime location in seaport overlooking the pier. Both indoor and outdoor seating available with the indoor seating being very intimate and comfortable. The FOOD! Every time I come to Boston I absolutely do not leave before having dinner here because of the quality and variety of the food. The menu is farm to table and seasonal so it's always changing. Have not had a single bad dish or drink here and would recommend this place so very highly read more

Great spot! We sat on the patio for brunch and the views were really nice. The portions were really big! Loved the lamb hash - although the lamb was broken down into very small pieces like ground beef. It would have been better if it was more of a pulled pork approach. Chicken and waffles were just ok but the peppers really made it! Did not leave hungry. Overall very good! read more

Loved this beautiful dinner spot right on the water. The restaurant is elegant and crisp and gives you a view of the pier. The service was attentive and helpful and they even brought us gluten free bread as a free starter. Food was also amazing, we got the following: - potato crusted cod: really delicious fish with a crispy outside - Lamb ribs: favorite item of the meal, the sauce was Asian inspired and delicious - broccoli: good but nothing special - mezcal drink: can't remember the exact name but it was amazing, I love a spirit forward drink and this was the perfect mix of smoky and sweet - Watermelon salad: light and refreshing - tuna tartare: also a nice light starter with savory sauces Overall loved the service and food! I had a really lovely high end dining experience here. I got a strawberry gin drink from the sipsmith pop up bar and absolutely loved it. The bread and butter were a great start to our meal. Then the two of us spilt 4 small plates which ended up being more than enough food. We got the lamb ribs, croquettes, cod, and zucchini. Every dish was so thoughtful and picturesque. The cod was excellent, and the croquettes and lamb were very good as well. Eating this on a beautiful waterfront patio was such a lovely experience. It was raining a bit but they pushed all of the tables under the awning so we could still have our al fresco experience. Overall this restaurant was really great! read more

So yesterday I was on a Zoom call with my boss and we were strategizing about what restaurant we would go to while at this conference. There were two options. I don't remember the other one because he mentioned "butter poached lobster" and I was like "Uh - say less, King" So came here tn with coworkers and two guys who used to work at our company. We are having the best time. Restaurant's decor is classy AF and our server, Bridget (apologies if not right spelling) is top tier. The whole idea here is that you get small plates to share. We got short ribs, croquettes, heirloom tomato special x2, clams, oysters, gnocchi, spaghetti, AND the legendary butter poached lobster. We also got like 3 bottles of wine, 8 espresso martinis, and a ginger ale. Idk I've been to many restaurants and this one will probably always be one of my faves bc of the food, service, and the people I'm with I would recommend this restaurant to all. You literally cannot go wrong I am a little annoyed though bc my mentor and boss took shots together in secret without me so I will be calling HR read more

Would this be an ok spot for older kids - like 7 and 12?
I would say it depends on how mature they are. This is definitely a restaurant that I can't imagine kids running around or even being loud it.
How about parking?
There are garages around the restaurant, but I don't think any specific to the restaurant. I suggest using spot hero, which is an app you can use to reserve a parking spot and they are usually cheaper.
