Ok so I thought I was the only weirdo who loves burnt meat but the Burnt Ends appetizer was amazingly flavorful and tender! My hubby, who is a BBQ connoisseur said he'd make a meal of it. I had the Mojo salad which was 4 kinds of smoked meat atop romaine with cucumbers and tomato. I just sprinkled some vinegar on the salad and their tasty Mojo sauce with sweet sauce on the meat which provided a smorgasbord of flavor that pleased my palate. Hubby ate the two meat plate with ribs and pulled Pork. He suggests skipping everything else and getting the Burnt Ends, but really the corn and sweet potato mashed were excellent as well. I wanted to try their burnt ends and brisket but unfortunately they sold out prior. Spareribs - 6.5/10, crispy skin, smokey flavor but needed the sauce to taste good. Pulled Pork - 7/10, just your average pulled pork, tasted good but came out a little cold. Texas hotlink - 6/10, juicy but not a hot link at all, they must think putting a little extra salt and pepper in it is what will give it that "hotlink" kick. Pretty much just a basic sausage. Mac n cheese - 5.5/10, tastes like Kraft and the bread crumbs were soggy and didn't do anything for the texture. Fries - 7/10, crispy but a little too mushy on the inside. Seasoned well. Good, solid BBQ, especially for a tourist place. The place is huge, they have a bar area separate from the dining area. You can get happy hour drinks even if you are in the dining area. The $6 Hurricane was amazing, according to hubby. Ask them for the HH menu if you're seated at that time. Between the two of us we had sliced brisket/rubbed ribs and a chopped brisket sandwich plate. Our sides were mashed reds with a white pepper gravy, collard greens, jalapeño corn bread and baked beans, all sides very tasty. The place has a large space and outside patio with umbrellas. It was hot so we opted for a table inside however they it was still warmer than I was expecting. We opted to share a BBQ plate with 2 meat combo (pulled porked and ribs) and a Burnt Ends appetizer for the meal. The Burnt Ends did not disappoint. It was everything I had imagined with all the crusted smokey flavoring that has been reinforced on those babies. The best parts was when it is laced with fat in between the tender beef and the crust. It was just tooo good. Order this! The 2 meat combo of our choice, pulled pork and ribs, were not bad. I thought the ribs was tender for st. louis ribs and the pulled pork was tender was well and not dry. There were 4 sauces on the table and I found I like their house Mojo sauce the best . This was our 2nd time to Mojo's and this time we brought our friends along. Our waiter, Dave, was awesome. He had a great sense of humor and was very attentive. Just as we remembered, the food was spot on and some of the best BBQ we've had. Burnt ends are fantastic, as were the baked beans, mashed sweet potatoes, mac and cheese and boom boom shrimp. You get an assortment of bbq sauces and plenty of food - no skimping here. We've never had to wait to get in, which blows my mind. I think we must always go before the crowd comes. Today we arrived about 5pm and the place was nearly empty. However, by the time we left, things had started to pick up. When walking around St Augustine there are a ton of food options but luckily I had Yelp with me to sort through the crap. When I saw all the 4 & 5 star reviews for Mojo City I knew that was the spot. We headed over & grabbed a quick lunch after having worked up quite an appetite visiting the Fort & walking around all day. We sat down & were greeted by our waiter sporting an old timey hipster mustache. We ordered some drinks while perusing the menu. When it came time to order we were warned that portions are insanely large so we opted for a few apps & to split an entree. We went for the famous burnt end brisket that appeared in so many Yelp photos it might as well be their signature dish. Once it arrived I quickly realized why... it's f#cking awesome! We also ordered some of the fried green Tomatos which were decent. As the main entree, we split some pulled pork. I ordered some extra toast to make some open faced sandwiches with it which worked out pretty well. The MacNCheese was so-so and the corn was too. The pork was good & there were quite a few sauces laying around in case you needed to flavor it up a bit. I went to this place based on the stellar Yelp ratings. I stopped in before heading out of town on the Sunday following the Gentleman of the Road show. I walked by the day before and they were packed and I stopped in for a beer on Saturday after the show. Most folks had already skipped town so it wasn't too busy when we showed up. The food was fine, but nothing crazy good. Coming from Charleston, SC, BBQ is somewhat of a religion. I feel that Mojo is great, probably compared to other places nearby. I'm sure it's the best it St Aug but not one of my personal favorites. I tried the pulled pork, the brisket, and the ribs. The ribs were probably the best of the bunch. The brisket had the same smoked flavor but fell kind of short for some reason. The pork was alright and I did like that they offered all the different sauces from the different BBQ regions. The service wasn't bad but was a little lackluster. I'm sure the staff had one of their busiest weekends with the additional 30,000 people in town. That being said, you still need to make people feel like you are happy to have them there. I felt more like everyone was kind of "checked out" after the busy weekend. read more

Neat spot close to our air bnb with burnt ends on the menu? Yes, please. Unfortunately I didn't find it to live up to prior reviews. We were definitely impressed with and used all sauces available on our table. My favorite being the mustard and hubby's being the Chipotle. There was a nice variety from vinegar-y to Smoky. We just had a couple apps to sample the spot. First up was pimento cheese. The texture was great, smooth and creamy with good hunts of cheese. The flavor was pretty mild though. Maybe we're used to more spice in ours or even a little extra sharp cheese kick but I felt it lacked. We did correct with a drop of sauce here and there but I don't think it's quite meant for that! As big fans of burnt ends we had to try those. They actually did have more char than some other places which was good, but still not enough to me. Of course we did rotate all sauces for these. I definitely recommend this place. My family (of 6) came here at 5 on a Saturday, and we we barely had to wait for our food. There was a big variety of meal options & a kids' menu. The portions were very generous, the food was delicious (the onion rings were amazing), and the prices were fair. Our server was very helpful & kind. We were seated on the patio and got to watch the horse-drawn carriages pass by, which was a really pleasant way to spend the evening. Dogs are also welcome on the patio. Came here with a party of 4 during a busy winter night. Was put on the wait-list with an estimated time of 45min took about 30 minutes to get into the seat. I ordered the brisket, the turkey, the fried pickles and chose the Mac and cheese and French fries as the sides. Knowing that this restaurant chain had so many different locations I had high hopes but I left disappointed. All of our food came out cold, (other than the fried pickles) and the brisket was dry and unlike any brisquet I've ever had from any other BBQ spot. I had to drown the brisket in sauce to alleviate the dryness and toughness I shouldn't expect in a brisket. To put it in perspective the fat cap on the brisket was solid not gelatinous and gooey as you would expect. Even the French fries were cold which made no sense because the pickles were warm. I would say though the 3 star rating was only due to faster wait time, the smoked turkey which was juicy and flavorful even though it was cold, and the fried pickles which were a great appetizer to an okay meal. read more

After being in Saint Augustine 4-5 times in the last 5 years or so, I'm not sure how we've missed this place. The pulled pork and chicken are perfect! The smoked corn has great taste and is not super smoky. It is off the Cobb. The pinto beans taste like my grandmother used to make. I wood highly highly recommend this place. It's a hidden gem!! Parking is somewhat limited on the side of the building and is shared with other stores and such in the area. I suggest, if you can, parking in a public lot and walking to the restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Our waitress was kind and helped to provide recommendations for what was good and popular. Went to this restaurant on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious. The sauces are all a must-try. The drinks were pretty good too, tasty but not strong. Our server was very friendly and made great suggestions. They are not strict on the mask wearing though. Many people walked in without masks and were not told to put them on even though a sign on the door said masks required. I also didn't feel like we were far enough away from other patrons. Once seated, though, I didn't feel uncomfortable or crowded. We ordered pork sandwiches, one pulled pork and one North Carolina. Both were delicious. The baked beans were amazing. We also ordered chicken nachos, onion rings and burnt ends. Nachos were a definite favorite. We stood outside while we waited since the bar was full. Once we were seated we were instantly greeted by our server. He did forget to bring me a water twice when I asked but knew it was busy and he was serving more tables than usual. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese. It was delicious! My friends ordered a smoked turkey sandwich with fries and a North Carolina pork platter with frito pie and mashed potatoes. The food came out hot and was delicious.
