Pickled mustard beef noodles soup
Hoa N.

First time here after working at a Girl Scout cookie booth. Our group shared the fried tofu, edamame, shrimp stir fry noodles, pickled mustard beef noodles soup and it was plenty of food. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on inside. The noodles tasted very fresh and soup broth was flavorful with the beef sliced thinly and very tender. Would recommend giving them a try and the place is small but cozy.

Small verses the portion

Came here for our anniversary since it was a nicer hand-pulled noodles spot located at MOA. A chain restaurant from Canada according to Google. We came here around lunch time and of course it was packed but did get seated right away. If you aren't into eating hand-pulled noodles then don't come here because that's what on the menu plus some appetizers. Braised beef noodles - beef is tender and broth was good. Beef noodles with pickled veggies- the more flat beef slices. The broth is not as strong as the braised beef noodles but it's still flavorful. I did enjoy the pickled veggies and I think choosing the dish with it was maybe $2 more? Kind of expensive for some added veggies but that's ok. Comparison. First the size is very different as you can see. I think price between small and large is $3 so definitely worth the portion size. I think hubby and I could have definitely shared 1 large bowls. I think I liked the thin noodles more than the large flat noodles. Or maybe next time I will get the small flat noodles. The large flat noodles is huge as you can see. It was a little too doughy for me. Each bite was a lot of noodles. Spice level- do not play around with the spice level here. We got level 1 and it was spicy. I love spicy food but I'm glad I went with spicy one because I know Asian restaurant doesn't play around with it. If anything, you can also add in more chili but enjoy the broth and not trying to fight to survive because it's too spicy. Overall not a bad experiment. A little pricy in terms of noodles where you can get for cheaper but it is inside of moa so seems right. I'm not crazy about hand-pulled noodles in general but it was good. Would come back to try other noodles to see. Service was great and fast given that it was busy.

Another hand pulled noodle restaurant. I believe this has the flavor from Lanzhao area in China. Anyway, the noodles are generous in portion (comes in standard or large size), option of spice level and type of noodles (thin round, thick round, small flat or thick flat). They also have different items (appetizer, main and dessert). On top, they serve alcohol as well. Definitely will come again!

First time visiting Mogouyan in the Mall of America and this place makes you forget you were in a mall, the the decor is simple but elegant, the service members are young and still finding their ways, they are attentive, courteous and relentless to help. In contrast the kitchen staff members are masters of their craft, on one hand they are molding, smacking, pulling the noodle, on the other hand they are braving the heat of the hot pots, coordinating ingredients, meat, sauce and spices to deliver a hot bowl of deliciousness . Great to watch, ot looks like a well tuned symphony orchestra at work.

The food here is a delicacy; a must have once in a lifetime at least! The service was quick, our food was out fast and warm. Ambience and total mood was pretty nice. Servers and waiters were really friendly and helpful. Would come back!

This place recently opened up at the MOA! I've seen it all over my social media, and my friends and I had to give it a try. The vibe is great and the place is packed. Their bowls are pretty large so unless you're starving, I'd advise against ordering a full bowl for yourself. We got the dan dan noodles at spice level 2 and it wasn't very spicy. If you're a spice connoisseur, I'd say get the spice level 3. Definitely coming back for more. The only downside is that the bowls are a bit outrageously priced, at approximately $20 a bowl.

Great experience to see them making the noodles from scratch! They have a QR code at the front area to join their waitlist. I highly recommend doing that during the lunch hour. The restaurant has a lot of sit down areas and a bar section. It was pretty noisy. They have a variety of different hot and cold appetizers such as five spice chicken wings, fried tofu, and different Asian salads. For each noodle dish, you can select the type of noodle (e.g., angel, classic, flat, thin flat) and spice level (1-3 levels). We got the level 2 spice level and both the classic and flat style noodles. The Dan Dan noodles were great. The noodle texture was firm and chewy. I would say the sauce was a bit too much for the amount of noodles that were given. The soup beef dish had more of a pepper taste. I would get the Dan Dan noodles again.

I welcome any addition to the hand pulled noodle scene! This place did not disappoint. I will say their price is higher than meet up noodle but they have multiple portion options and are generous with the toppings. In my opinion I like the noodle texture more from meet up noodle but the convenience this restaurant offers while shopping at the mall is hard to beat. The atmosphere is nicely decorated as well and certainly does not feel like you're sitting in a mall when you're dining in here. Their chili oil is also really great and has a good cumin kick to it.

Delicious new restaurant inside the MOA! I got the braised beef noodle soup and it was so so good. The chili oil that they make has a nice flavor and really adds depth to the dish. I have had a ton of beef noodle soups, but still thought this one was made very well. It is a bit pricy, but I wonder if that is partly due to the fact that it is inside the mall. Staff was quick and friendly.

Authentic northwestern Chinese style hand pulled noodles. You will know it's hand pulled, daily made when you have so many width options to choose from. It's worth the price if you're a noodle fan and hate the texture of machine made noodles. My only complaint is that the lamb skewers didn't taste like they were grilled, but more like fried.

I have been eating here every time I go to MOA. I think they have the best Chinese noodles here and the service was amazing too.

This was my first time trying a hand pulled noodle place and I'm glad I did. When you pick a dish they let you pick what type of noodles you want in it. Then you watch them make the noodles! The classic beef noodle soup had a light broth (too watery for me) but the flavor of the Sichuan peppercorn came through nicely. The tomato stir fry for me was the perfect blend of Chinese and Italian even if it's strictly a Chinese dish. I'd come back for it. I was surprised that even though the restaurant was mostly empty our stir fry took 30+ minutes. So we shared the soup while we waited for it (they should have brought them together). The server said it's because they only have one wok for stir fry's. Seems odd to only have one when the menu is basically either soup or stir fry. I can't imagine how long it would take if they were busy. My only other complaint is that they gave us children's craft scissors to cut our noodles. Not sure how they are properly cleaning craft scissors and keeping rust off them. Seems odd not to provide food grade scissors for food at a restaurant. Maybe next time will be better.

Classic beef thin noodle soup, braised beef flat noodle, sake bomb beers, crispy chicken strips, fried dumplings, crispy potato chips

We craved for hot soup on chilly day and saw that this restaurant was fairly new at MOA. We ordered an extra large mild classic beef thin noodle soup, an extra spicy xlarge braised beef flat noodle, and stir fried chicken flat noodle dish (not pictured). The broth was so flavorful and the beef cuts were extremely tender that the babies could rip apart easily and eat safely. Extra spicy felt more like a mild-medium spice level. We also tried fried chicken wings, fried chicken cut strips, dumplings, potato chips, eggrolls, and edamame. The wings had a delicious dry seasoning. Potato chips tasted good but were on the soggy side. Edamame's salt could've been distributed evenly. It was just sitting on top of the edamame like a mountain and it was a little hard to shake it with a bowl on top because the warm steam had the salt stuck in one area. We paired our food with sake bomb beers, a perfectly crisp after taste with a mellow buzz. The noodles were nice and chewy. Will be coming back for the noodle soup and wings and to try other apps we didn't get to try like the fried tofu and kelp salad.

But I've dined-in, ordered take-out, and have also done a catering order for 40 people and this place always delivers every single time. Service is solid as expected. The outside of the place is unassuming. But that doesn't really matter, because the food was delicious. There's a large amount of seating available. The menu can be a bit overwhelming, but I have a few favorites that I always order and then I try to add one or two new dishes to try as well. Anyway, a list of my favorite dishes below: Quick fried crispy fish fillet: this is the GOATed dish. The fish it meaty, incredibly crispy, and the black beans on top add this super nice saltiness when eaten together with the rice, it's perfect. Orange chicken: this isn't your typical orange chicken like Panda Express. This stuff is flavorful, a bit sweet and more caramelly than orange juicy. I will admit sometimes though that it can be a bit battery, but that's seldom. Szechuan green beans: yum. salty, tender. The perfect side veggie to make me think I'm eating healthy. Achoy: this veggie tastes clean but it's also so flavorful. My favorite veggie here by far. The pieces are a little long so it can be difficult to eat sometimes with a spoon. Cumin beef: tender, spicy, and salty. flavorful and always delivers. Salt and pepper squid: this used to be one of my favorites, but over the last 2 years it's become more of "onions with squid" rather than "squid with onions". Nonetheless, the squid is crispy and salty, and pairs very well with rice. Beef chow fun: a classic. nice soy flavor and tender chewy flat rice noodles. I do like Peking Garden's beef chow fun more but this is pretty good too. During lunch, they also have a sliced noodle that I usually get with minced pork sauce. It's a large portion and the noodles are seasoned with a spicy oil and minced pork. The noodles are thick and chewy but melt in your mouth, and the flavor is just filled with umami. It's a nice mix up from the rice staple.

There was a ton of noodles piled on top of my plate but only one or two onions or mushrooms. I would never go back there again and the service is not great either. I always wanted to try it, but I don't understand how they can stay in business when their food is so tasteless. My partner ordered barbecued beef and peapods, and he was not satisfied with the beef either. They need to up their game and get fresh meat!

I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef, Mapo Tofu, and the Pork Belly. Everything was tasty and have no complaints as far as the actual flavors. I do think that the Mapo Tofu should always be soft tofu rather than firm, but that's just a personal preference. The beef was plentiful and extra tender and the pork belly was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth, so good that I felt like I had to ration it throughout the next few meals. I do wish it came with more rice. I ordered three sides and only got one box of rice. I was hoping to have at least two so I can eat it for several days. However, to end on a positive note, when I walked in to pick up my order, the woman (owner possibly) was incredibly friendly and spoke Mandarin to me. She was welcoming, funny, and we briefly argued how spicy food should really be for it to be enjoyable. "The spicier the better," me thinks. Come show these guys some love!

This is one of those low key hidden gem restaurants that serve authentic food without a doubt,…read morebecause it's not only difficult to locate, but also relatively exclusive in terms of its clientele. I enjoyed everything I have had here so far and definitely appreciated the authentic aspect of the food they have. The only improvement I could suggest was the taste of a lot of their dishes, as flavors tended to be on the mild side. It doesn't mean their food is any less authentic, though, and I would recommend all that are looking for authentic Chinese food to visit here. Individually, I ordered dishes that I would normally order in Chinese restaurants, so while I am not sure if there's anything I can necessarily recommend yet, I will say that I thought every dish I have had were above average in comparison to the same dishes I have had elsewhere. My favorite so far is the fried pork in scoop (锅包肉) and I don't even regularly eat pork. There was a nice layer of sweetness and sourness witht the sauce outside the pork pieces. The vegetable dishes like eggplant in garlic sauce (鱼香茄子), green beans with garlic (干煸四季豆), and Chinese cabbage (手撕包菜) are all tasty enough. The Chinese cabbage contained a lot of vinegar, and I bet some people would enjoy that. I didn't taste enough cumin in the cumin lamb (孜然羊肉) dish, but there was an abundant amount of lamb and I appreciated it. The spicy pepper chicken (辣子鸡) was very delicious and had the right amount of spice in my opinion. There is a Relaxing Healthy Center that's connected to the restaurant and apparently that establishment has been very popular, especially in the evenings. I have not visited there yet but I heard that it was similar to saunas in China, and I would love to visit there soon. Regardless, this is a hidden gem, hole in the wall, type of spot and I would definitely recommend everyone.
