When you enter the place it feels like you have been transported to a Japanese pop/mom restaurant in Japan. Menu selection focused on ramen but we think the ramen we ordered (chicken ramen) is a bit underwhelming. We like the other items we had, karaage don and pork katsu. Service is great, plenty of free parking at this strip mall.
This was some of the best ramen I've had in a long time. The broth was rich and flavorful, noodles were bouncy with a good chew, good amount of meat and toppings, and a good price. The service was fast, and the restaurant was clean. Great place, I'd drive out of my way for it.
What most impressed me (initially) about this place was the friendly service...the servers were very patient with our group (I went up to order several times). Our orders came out very q The ramen was delicious and very tasty, the broth not too greasy or salty. The noodles were perfectly chewy. My ramen cravings were well satisfied!! The gyoza appetizers (we tried both vegetarian and pork) were excellent, but my favorite was the agedashi tofu (deep fried tofu with broth, bonito and minced seaweed)....the best appetizer I've had in awhile!
Any ramen lover must check this place out. The noodles are chewy, springy, and cook to perfection. Broth is well seasoned, hearty, and flavorful. And best part: the portion is plentiful, which seems a bit rare nowadays. The vibe is very cool too--accessorized with awesome Japanese decors, pop culture, and street art (give your interior designer a raise). Also, there is a tiny, cute mini-mart area near the counter which is unique and useful for those who want to engage further into Japanese culture. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I personally believe Naruto Uzumaki would love this place.

I really love when you add things, so I added corn and ground pork to mine. We left with full bellies and happy hearts.

You order at the counter, wait at your table to bring your food and wallah, enjoy while drinking an ice cold beer or sake or Japanese soda! Yes, they have cold mugs in the fridge for your beer! Isn't that awesome! If you like anime, they have trinkets of Doraemon and DBZ around the place as well as some movie poster references. Almost giving you a feeling that you're in Japan! (Just don't look out the window and focus inside!) Try it and you'll be hooked!
Visited this local spot on the hunt for a new go-to ramen place in the twin cities metro! I ordered the spicy miso ramen. Food was definitely freshly made, and service was fast and friendly. The ambiance of the place was really cool, I love how there are a bunch of different posters from Japan scattered around the restaurant. As for the ramen, I was unfortunately not impressed. Broth was lacking flavor, and I didn't really taste the spice that the ramen was supposed to have. I'd be willing to give this place another try, maybe I'll try the udon next time.
So happy I stumbled upon this Ramen restaurant one lazy afternoon. It was a little hard to find nestled in the middle of apartment buildings. There was limited parking in front of the restaurant, but plenty behind that wrapped around. So much scenery to take in upon entering, it is very well decorated. Upon entering, you can grab a menu to browse, then step forward to place your order at the counter. They give you a number if you're dining in, which I did. There was plenty of seating inside and also looks like there were a few seats outside as well. They were relatively quick to Serve my very warm and delicious spicy miso Ramen. All of the flavors complemented each other incredibly well. It was so good. I cleaned the bowl. I would absolutely return for more, prices were also reasonable.
Gimme all the ramen!! On a cold snow drifting evening this is the place to warm the soul and explore a little bit of Japans street foods. We started takoyaki, a batter filled with octopus rolled into a ball as it cooked on the pan and topped with kewpie mayo and oyster sauce, seaweed on top of shredded cabbage. Chicken karaage, fried chicken pieces dipped in kewpie mayo along with shrimp wontons which were more like tempura battered and fried shrimp. Everything was perfect and warm and started the meal off right! We complemented the meal with some ramen and udon. I got the spicy miso ramen which was mellow spiced and packed with noodle, baby bok choy, soft boiled egg, and spicy pork. It was the perfect meal to warm the body and end with a happy belly. For dessert they have this rad little soft serve machine that you can customize and mix and match as you please but I was too full to partake
We loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. The advertisement of "Japanese street food" comes across well with the interior decor. We sat at communal table with a 4' tall cat as the centerpiece- it was pretty cool. The fried oysters and the garlic edamame were amazing. The ramen was really delicious (classic and volcano). What a great experience! The food was served quickly and the staff were pleasant
The place is a small ramen place hidden by Fresh Thyme. The ramen is pretty good. The ramen I got was delicious and flavorful. The chicken karaage was chicken, it was on the saltier side, but the sauce removes that salty taste. The ramen wasn't spicy as it had mentioned. I wanted it to be spicier, but there isn't a kick of spice to the mouth. A great spot to grab some good ramen, it isn't the best I have ever had, but it will due. The service was just good, it was self serve base so nothing much you can say about services.
Was in the area and saw this place had a 4.9/5 on google and decided I had to stop by after going to Japan earlier this year and having the best ramen of my life there. I just got the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen this time and I can say it's the best ramen I've hard in the Twin Cities so far. Delicious, deep, flavorful broth. Great noodles and pork. I would have preferred no sesame seeds but there's nothing to critique on this ramen. Quick service, not crowded. I tried the ice cream machine for a cup on the way out. Not that great, and a little more eggy/custardy, but what can you expect from a vending machine. The mix-ins were fun. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Self-served ramen place with a lot of udon options. Their ramen options are mainly just pork, so if you don't eat pork like me, you'll have a hard time trying to find an option. They have no sea-food option either, and they only have one chicken ramen. Chicken wasn't properly grilled and it felt like I am eating raw chicken. The ramen noodles were also interesting in that they don't look like any of ramen noodles I had before. Broth is just pure MSG so I didn't even bother finishing the broth. Udon strips-fried was surprisingly very good. It was a bit oily but chicken in there was tasty. Good amount of bean sprouts and cabbages. They seem to have multiple options for udon stir-fried, so if you want a traditional ramen or even udon with broth, this is not the place for you. read more
Whenever I visit Minnesota, I make sure to stop by Itton. They have a spacious well-decorated restaurant with various types of seating to cater to all people. The tsukemen had great presentation and even greater flavor. The broth really clung to the noodles. The classic tonkatsu had a great pork flavor as well. The food tasted homemade. Definitely recommend this spot for ramen fanatics! read more

Visited this local spot on the hunt for a new go-to ramen place in the twin cities metro! I ordered the spicy miso ramen. Food was definitely freshly made, and service was fast and friendly. The ambiance of the place was really cool, I love how there are a bunch of different posters from Japan scattered around the restaurant. As for the ramen, I was unfortunately not impressed. Broth was lacking flavor, and I didn't really taste the spice that the ramen was supposed to have. I'd be willing to give this place another try, maybe I'll try the udon next time. read more

You are no longer in Minnesota--you are in a secluded village of mercenaries and mystics, where every booth harbors a blade-for-hire and every drink carries faint whispers of enchanted quests. I arrived underwhelmed in spirit but hopeful in belly. I left transformed: a warrior reborn in miso and mirth. The ramen? A celestial storm. - Noodles crafted by monks trained in the mountains of texture. - Toppings so harmonious you'd swear they were curated by a Michelin-certified dungeon master. - The spicy minced meat whispered ancient truths into my third eye. I now understand sadness, joy, and C# error handling. Legend has it, Olympic champions like Suni Lee and Regan Smith dined here before claiming glory. Coincidence? Doubtful. I too ate here and immediately debugged three SQL queries in my sleep and accidentally power-lifted my laundry basket. If you do not eat here, your soul may remain unseasoned. read more
This is such a cute ramen shop. I was thrilled when my companion suggested this place on a cold MN day. I got the spicy miso and it was fantastic. The egg was my favorite part it was soaked in a soy sauce marinade that was to die for. The gyoza was lightly pan fried. Tables are communal so not very intimidate. Service was fast and efficient. The best place for ramen in the state of MN is Itton Ramen. I love that the broth is cooked and simmer for 12 plus hours. That first couple of sip was very delightful. It was rich with a subtle hint of saltiness, just the way I like it. The noodles was soft and the soft boiled egg along with the other toppings just really gave life to this bowl. read more
This place just opened up in Bloomington so I had to try it out! First off, I love the unique decorations inside. Tons of fun animated Japanese arts and comics fill the walls and add a cool energy to the place. For a smaller place they have a huge menu I wasn't expecting! If you don't like the ramen options you can pick soba or udon noodles or rice dishes. They even have curry dishes! My go-to is the classic chicken ramen. The broth is amazingly flavorful and I can't get enough of it. If you get it to go they package the toppings and broth separate so it stays fresh and not soggy. I always like to add an appetizer and everything I've tried here has been so good! read more

The hostess was so nice and directed me to the menu, explained to me the different items, and was patient while ordering. The interior decor was very cool and reminded me a lot of the ramen restaurants while I was in Japan. Of course, this restaurant has a lot more real estate, but the ramen bar was especially reminiscent of Japan. The ramen itself was good. I've had tonkotsu that fit my tastes better - those were more full, bold, and creamy, leaving the distinctive mouthfeel. This ramen was lighter, a little more transparent, but still had strong flavor and a nice garlic aftertaste. The char siu had a nice little char to it and I'll make sure to ask for them to char it even more next time. The egg was perfect, the bamboo shoots had a good texture, and the price of the ramen was great! read more

Whew! The spicy beef ramen is HOT. Steaming hot, and also super spicy (for MN). Little chunks of stewed beef, plenty baby bok choy, cilantro and fried garlic. The ramen noodles have a fresh chewy texture. The chef is very friendly and happy to answer questions to help you pick out your meal. You get a number and they deliver it to your table pretty fast. I will definitely be back to try the other noodle soups, and also their large selection of appetizers, fried rice, donburi, etc. read more
I only tried the classic chicken ramen, it was good. I liked it overall, I think I like my ramen a little bit more salty but for those who do not love extra saltiness, might be right up your alley. Others with me liked theirs, although my brother in law said the spicy ramen was not very spicy. I didn't think the chicken balls looked good, but they did taste quite good. Not much to say about the service, as i ordered at the counter and they brought it out, no problems. I like the ramen machine decoration they have. I'd go back if in the area, but I live 20 minutes so I don't think I would make a trip of it. read more
This was perfect for a cold rainy day... the ambience was everything. itton is decorated so cute like we were really vibin here. we got the karaage, pork gyoza and spicy beef ramen. the ramen was mild in spice and alright. but the karaage... man i do love some karaage.. the chopped cabbage added the perfect crunch and freshness to the crispy chicken. the gyoza was also perfectly cooked that fry was chefs kiss! coming back for them appetizers....!! read more

The food is below substandard and barely edible. We order 3 different dishes. The chicken karaage don with curry, the spicy chicken karaage, and the volcano spicy ramen. The curry was one of the worst tasting, and gave me an upset stomach. The spicy karaage came out wrong completely and they wouldn't admit it. The volcano ramen meats were still cold when it came out. I was hoping it would be good with all the reviews. Unfortunately the food did not live up to it. Disappointed made by Chinese's. read more
Came here with a group of 8 when they first opened for a few weeks. I live nearby, so I love that we're getting more ramen places around Bloomington. The interior is very cute and hip. It's one of my fave things about this place. We ordered at the counter and they bring the food to you. Service was fast and friendly, which hurts me to say that the food was subpar. We ordered Takoyaki and chicken karaage to share. I enjoyed the karaage a lot, but takoyaki was just okay. I got the classic tonkatsu ramen and it lacks flavor and creaminess. It tastes like shoyu broth instead. The meat pieces were huge and they were very generous with their portions. It was just missing something. Overall, I would not return for ramen but maybe for appetizers for a quick catch up with friends. I really wanted to like this place and hopefully it gets better with time. read more

This was amazing. I could have eaten a bowl of just the broth. It was that good. The chicken was flavorful. The noodles were tasty. The vegetables were cooked just right. Everything about it was spectacular. The ambiance was inviting and intriguing. The interior was decorated with a variety of signs that apparently came from Japan. The lighting was bright. And the layout of the dining area was clean and clear so that moving about the dining area was easy and unobstructed. The speed with which the food was served was pretty quick. Definitely on par with other ramen restaurants I have been to, which is pretty good considering that the chicken had to be fried. I was happy with the service, no complaints at all. read more

Tucked a block south of the Southtown shopping center in Bloomington, this little noddle shop has Donburi (white rice bowls) in addition to six ramen options. You can add extra toppings to your bowl for 1.95 or extra meat for 3.95. The noodle to broth ratio in the ramen was high and the broth was flavorful and well rounded. You order and pay at a counter and the food is brought out to you. The service was quick and friendly and the wait staff even stopped and asked if we were happy with your meal. Super causal atmosphere; serve yourself Pepsi or there are cans of tea and boba to choose from. Overall enjoyable experience. We will be back to try the buns and Yaki Soba. Itadakimasu! read more

You have to order at the counter and then someone will bring your food to you. My meal came out very fast, I would say less than 10 mins. The atmosphere is very quiet and not as busy as I would thought during lunch time. The decor is very cute. The only thing is you must beware of the water cup because they write the name of the restaurant in permanent marker so it WILL rub off on your fingers. Portion wise they put a lot of ramen but not enough broth in my opinion. The spicy miso didn't have spice to it at all, egg was just a tad bit over cooked. Overall this isn't a bad place if you want something close and not have to drive far. Tokoyaki is on the saltier side. Plenty of parking outside. read more

Lunch time date with my hubby. We love checking out new places in our neighborhood, but hadn't had a chance to stop in here yet. As we were walking in, a patron who was leaving said, "Karaage Chicken, man! You'll love it!", then his friend said, "and the Ramen of course!" What a fun vibe! Very anime-funky and friendly place. Ordered the chicken ramen and Chicken Karaage, which (as the other customers foretold) were both really good, so we also decided to order some Chicken Chashu Fried Rice, which was also very good. Definitely plan to return with my daughter, who is a huge Anime fan! read more
