The fish was probably the best quality I've had in Minnesota and I would go here again.
When we walked in the setting was Japanese and low light which contrasted with the strip mall outside, so it felt very transformative.
We got two of the salmon lover, sexy lady roll, white angel roll, salmon poke, miso soup, and the seaweed salad. Which came to $120. The salmon poke and seaweed salad were average, it looked like they used a different salmon than the main dishes because it wasn't as tender. However the miso soup was very flavorful and not watered down.
The main dishes were good, the salmon was definitely their strong point. The taste was like other sushi places. But what separated this place from the others was that the salmon was very tender and was close to that melt in your mouth texture. Another thing that was surprising was the ginger quality. Usually sushi places have a bitter ginger, but this place only had the sweetness. Which meant that all the ginger was eaten, and they give you it every sushi dish.
The sushi rice was good but not the best, it wasn't squished and was formed nicely but it did only have a small amount of that sushi rice taste. And the wasabi was the usual initiation paste.
The specialty rolls were good and thick. And I would come here to get them again. The sexy lady roll had a nice unique flavor and texture from the inside and the white angle roll had a nice fish flavor. Both of these rolls also had tasteful sauces. Overall creating a good roll.
The service was average, our waitress always seemed to be busy and rushed when she came to our table. But nothing bad or good to add to the experience. read more
