    Spicy beef noodles soup
    Hoa N.

Waited for about 5 minutes to be seated and after we ordered our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered cream cheese wontons and meatball pho to eat in and ordered a shaking beef and curry chicken for to go. The sweet and sour sauce for the cream cheese wonton tastes like homemade as it has a strong ginger flavor which I liked. Prices are reasonable for cash payment and 4% surcharge for credit card payment. They have two TVs showing different Asian cooking and Vietnamese restaurants/street food coming in Vietnam that is very interesting. Ambiance is quaint and friendly. One bathroom stall. Takes awhile to get to go containers for leftovers.

We stopped in while in town for some authentic viet food and it was delicious. The egg rolls were fantastic and the pho broth was delicious. We bought the pandan jelly's to take home to Texas and now we can't wait to go back and get more! Seating is a bit tight so be prepared if you're with a group!

    Oxtail pho with extras

Had to sneak off from my company gathering to try out their pho with ox tail. I grab a teammate who loves the Asian dishes that I like. It didn't take much to convince him to breakout from the restaurant we were in that had like 200 kids on school vacation losing their minds. This was a much needed meal that was good for my stomach and great for my mental state.

Writing this review after 2 dinners at CoTu. Small restaurant with fast service. I'm trying to find the best phó soup in the Twin Cities area. If you like thick cut phó noodles then CoTu is the place for you. Hence why I've been twice in the last month - I have yet to find thick cut noodles at another establishment. Ambiance is decent. Workers are up front prepping materials & servicing tables. Will be back for more noodle soup & interested to try other dishes when the weather heats up.

CoTu is a must go in the greater Twin Cities area. A cute little Asian restaurant with some of the best food and kindest service you can find, all for an extremely reasonable price. Food: I ordered the pho and was not disappointed at all. The bowl was gigantic and they did not skimp on anything, plenty of noodles, herbs, vegetables, and beef. The flavor of the broth was incredible and the beef was fresh and tender. 10/10 Drinks: The Thai tea was amazing. Strong and sweet with the flavored jellies. I know some people prefer tapioca balls in their Thai tea so keep that in mind if that is your preference, but these are my addition of choice. 9/10 Desserts: I decided to go with two desserts since they were just so kind to me. The waiter took the time to explain to me their culture and how they bake all their desserts fresh in house. He recommended I try the flan and the banh da lon (steamed layer mung bean cake). The flan was alright, I'm not huge into flan but I can tell a good flan from a bad one and this was much better than the rest I've had. The banh da lon was such a unique dessert that I've never had anything like it. It was sweet, but not overwhelmingly and had a very sticky, gel like consistency. They are filling so share with your friends! Flan - 8/10 Banh da lon - 9/10 Service: The staff at CoTu are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Our waiter was a young man who took the time to answer all my questions about their menu, their dessert selection, and even explain to me what's popular amongst Vietnamese patrons of the restaurant (since I am not). Super sweet people and they care so much about the quality of their food! 100/10 I will definitely be coming back next time I'm near, and may even drive over to get some pho sometime soon.

Great staff but to be completely honest, this is not even close to the best Vietnamese food in the twin cities. Everything lacked flavor.

But I've dined-in, ordered take-out, and have also done a catering order for 40 people and this place always delivers every single time. Service is solid as expected. The outside of the place is unassuming. But that doesn't really matter, because the food was delicious. There's a large amount of seating available. The menu can be a bit overwhelming, but I have a few favorites that I always order and then I try to add one or two new dishes to try as well. Anyway, a list of my favorite dishes below: Quick fried crispy fish fillet: this is the GOATed dish. The fish it meaty, incredibly crispy, and the black beans on top add this super nice saltiness when eaten together with the rice, it's perfect. Orange chicken: this isn't your typical orange chicken like Panda Express. This stuff is flavorful, a bit sweet and more caramelly than orange juicy. I will admit sometimes though that it can be a bit battery, but that's seldom. Szechuan green beans: yum. salty, tender. The perfect side veggie to make me think I'm eating healthy. Achoy: this veggie tastes clean but it's also so flavorful. My favorite veggie here by far. The pieces are a little long so it can be difficult to eat sometimes with a spoon. Cumin beef: tender, spicy, and salty. flavorful and always delivers. Salt and pepper squid: this used to be one of my favorites, but over the last 2 years it's become more of "onions with squid" rather than "squid with onions". Nonetheless, the squid is crispy and salty, and pairs very well with rice. Beef chow fun: a classic. nice soy flavor and tender chewy flat rice noodles. I do like Peking Garden's beef chow fun more but this is pretty good too. During lunch, they also have a sliced noodle that I usually get with minced pork sauce. It's a large portion and the noodles are seasoned with a spicy oil and minced pork. The noodles are thick and chewy but melt in your mouth, and the flavor is just filled with umami. It's a nice mix up from the rice staple.

I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef, Mapo Tofu, and the Pork Belly. Everything was tasty and have no complaints as far as the actual flavors. I do think that the Mapo Tofu should always be soft tofu rather than firm, but that's just a personal preference. The beef was plentiful and extra tender and the pork belly was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth, so good that I felt like I had to ration it throughout the next few meals. I do wish it came with more rice. I ordered three sides and only got one box of rice. I was hoping to have at least two so I can eat it for several days. However, to end on a positive note, when I walked in to pick up my order, the woman (owner possibly) was incredibly friendly and spoke Mandarin to me. She was welcoming, funny, and we briefly argued how spicy food should really be for it to be enjoyable. "The spicier the better," me thinks. Come show these guys some love!

This is one of those low key hidden gem restaurants that serve authentic food without a doubt,…read morebecause it's not only difficult to locate, but also relatively exclusive in terms of its clientele. I enjoyed everything I have had here so far and definitely appreciated the authentic aspect of the food they have. The only improvement I could suggest was the taste of a lot of their dishes, as flavors tended to be on the mild side. It doesn't mean their food is any less authentic, though, and I would recommend all that are looking for authentic Chinese food to visit here. Individually, I ordered dishes that I would normally order in Chinese restaurants, so while I am not sure if there's anything I can necessarily recommend yet, I will say that I thought every dish I have had were above average in comparison to the same dishes I have had elsewhere. My favorite so far is the fried pork in scoop (锅包肉) and I don't even regularly eat pork. There was a nice layer of sweetness and sourness witht the sauce outside the pork pieces. The vegetable dishes like eggplant in garlic sauce (鱼香茄子), green beans with garlic (干煸四季豆), and Chinese cabbage (手撕包菜) are all tasty enough. The Chinese cabbage contained a lot of vinegar, and I bet some people would enjoy that. I didn't taste enough cumin in the cumin lamb (孜然羊肉) dish, but there was an abundant amount of lamb and I appreciated it. The spicy pepper chicken (辣子鸡) was very delicious and had the right amount of spice in my opinion. There is a Relaxing Healthy Center that's connected to the restaurant and apparently that establishment has been very popular, especially in the evenings. I have not visited there yet but I heard that it was similar to saunas in China, and I would love to visit there soon. Regardless, this is a hidden gem, hole in the wall, type of spot and I would definitely recommend everyone.

So, I chose Monday to work remotely because, well, why not? For almost a year, I have been using a DoorDash pass for free. It means that I can get meals delivered for free if each order hits a minimum of $15. I decided to do delivery because it feels fancy to me when I'm in a hotel. I did a search on the DoorDash app and found Eddie Cheng Restaurant. It had menu items that appealed to me. What's funny to me was that it was across the street from the hotel. I could have easily placed my order and walked across the street to fetch it. I'm glad that I did delivery. My manager had an urgent task for me to complete on my final workday of 2024. Getting lunch delivered helped me get this task done quickly and efficiently. I ordered the following items: - Wonton soup - Shrimp with lobster sauce on roasted pork fried rice I didn't get any drinks because I had lots in my hotel room. When you go with delivery from this eatery, the restaurant decides if it's going to use its own delivery service or go with a DoorDasher. I had scheduled my food to arrive between 11:30 am and noon. The restaurant's own driver delivered my food. I had instructions to knock and leave the food at my door. This delivery person didn't read the instructions. He knocked on the door and expected me to open the door. I said politely to leave it at the door and I thanked him. He did. The wonton soup was amazing. The broth looked so clean. It was yummy. The wontons were huge and had a lot of filling. I'd order this soup again. It was excellent. The shrimp with lobster sauce on roasted pork fried rice wasn't what I had expected. I am so used to the version that New China does in Rochester with a lot of yummy lobster sauce that this one was different. It was basically a few large shrimp and veggies tossed in lobster sauce and pan-fried. They all were on top of fried rice. It was good. The shrimp and veggies were cooked well. The lobster sauce was salty. The fried rice seemed bland to me on its own, but was fine when I mixed the veggies and shrimp with it. My food came with crispy chow mein. It wasn't yummy. Pass! I got a fortune cookie, which I liked. We'll see if my fortune comes true... haha! It's good Chinese food. I'd get the wonton soup again, but would try something else off the menu. (8)
