Viet Hoa is our go-to spot for an easy, cozy experience. I always get a piping hot bowl of pho tai chin with extra limes and no bean sprouts and my husband orders the grilled pork bahn mi. SO good. Lately, we've been sharing the Vietnamese style egg rolls which are crisped within an inch of their life and the sauce that comes with is to die for. This meal always hits the spot and the food that comes out of their kitchen feels like a warm hug. My only reason for docking a star is that the portion of rare beef in the pho is small for the price. We moved here from Seattle where there were about 10 pho spots a stones throw from our condo and I have never been such a lean serving of meat for the price. read more

Just based off the smell when you walk in, you know you're in for a good meal. Very clean and bright dining area. Large board of featured items up front and quick service. We saw they had great reviews for their Pho so we had to try it out and we loved it. Flavorful broth, veggies on the side, good noodles, just a great bowl of soup. I loved the char siu banh mi, and the hot and sour soup was phenomenal. Slightly spicy with rich savory flavor and crunchy bamboo shoots mixed in. The mix of flavors with the pork and broth is fantastic. And to top it off, the Vietnamese style egg rolls were the crispiest I've ever had. I had the pho, with rare beef, it was delicious! Their broth is really good, not overpowering and great flavor. They have a huge menu of both Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. I suspect that is why my pho took so long to get. But, no matter, it was worth the wait. I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes. The staff here is friendly and helpful too. read more

After shopping estate sales on Fridays, this is where we lunch. We LOVE the Bun salad and their tofu is excellent if you like tofu. The Vietnamese egg rolls are excellent and we always get an extra order of them when we come for the Bun. (The Salad comes with one egg roll on top and one is just not enough.) They are reputed to be THE place for Pho around here, although I have never tried it, I can't get away from the Bun. I cannot speak for anything else on the menu. Service is good in the always busy restaurant over lunch. The Bun does well for take out. Friendly place. read more

This is an unexpected little gem, I almost missed it when looking for a place to eat. I am happy we stopped in. The Pho was good I got the beef and meat ball. The meat balls tasted "home made" or fresh not frozen. The broth was delicious and the usual side items present. I would only say the friend that got the non pho dish was a but disappointed with the portions maybe its a lunch size. the service was fast and accurate. Not a lot of frills are needed. I really wanted to love this place because pho near my house is hard to come by. I went during lunchtime on a Saturday and we were 1 of 3 tables. We were seated and given water promptly but when we indicated we were ready to order ( stacking the menus in a pile at the end of the table) we were ignored for quite some time. The restroom was in need of a deep cleaning. Spring rolls were fairly decent but the shrimp overpowered the roll. The dipping sauce was piping hot which seemed odd. The pho was ok. Not horrible but not fantastic. Maybe I'm a pho snob since I usually go to Eat street for pho. You do have to go up front to pay. There is a lot of parking available. I was pleased to find a pho restaurant near where I am staying. I got pho dac biet and my boyfriend got the chowmein. I also got the vietnamese coffee. Here are my ratings for each item and why. Pho dac biet: the broth was fine. For a place near this area it was nice to have a familiar taste. The portion was decent. I was happy to see tendon and tripe in it. I think the bean sprouts looked a bit dark though, but there was nothing wrong with the taste. It was what I expected and the restaurant had a familiar, decently clean feel to it. It had nostalgic decor. I would recommend this place, it is a good standard pho. The chowmein seemed to taste just fine as well and a good option if you're a bit intimated trying new foods. A good portion was available. The vietnamese coffee comes in a plastic cup and is a bit on the bitter side, but the taste is still good one to have. Overall, I had a decent experience there. The staff were nice. It seemed pretty clean. The restaurant was not cluttered. I would recommend this place. read more

We ordered takeout from Viet Hoa and thought it was pretty good overall. In hindsight, we probably should have gone with the Vietnamese side of the menu instead of sticking mostly to Chinese dishes. The flavors were fine but not particularly memorable. The pad Thai had an unexpected amount of black pepper, which threw it off a bit. The hot and sour soup was good, and the rest of the food felt pretty basic. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out. We'll give it another try, focusing on the pho or other Vietnamese options to get a better sense of what the restaurant does best. I love this place. The best Vietnamese food I've eaten recently. Don't let the huge menu intimidate you. Go right to the Vietnamese food menu if you want authentic tastes seasoned with a variety of vegetables and fragrant fresh herbs like cilantro (ngò), Vietnamese coriander (rau răm), Thai basil (húng quế), and perilla leaf (lá tía tô). What I like about authentic Vietnamese food is the lightness of the ingredients and the fact that I can savor the individual ingredients. You will not be disappointed. I ordered the vermicelli rice noodles with mock duck which came with a vegetarian egg roll and a light fish sauce for dipping. The service was quick and friendly even though the atmosphere was average except for some very special arty photos of what I am assuming are from Vietnam. To be honest I'm getting a little tired of eating at Cantonese restaurants, so a change of pace by going here was a real treat. But judging by how good the Vietnamese was I am assuming the Chinese food is excellent as well. read more

Fairly typical Vietnamese/Chinese spot. Very large menu with plenty of options. We were happy with everything we got. The wait staff is also all very nice and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meal. There was only one other group in there when we went but there was plenty of seating. The interior is fairly bare bones but it's not like it really needs anything anyways. Overall if your in the area and want a little something different than your typical food definitely make a stop here. read more

Went here to catch up with a friend and I ordered a pho (#2). I would say this is a decent solid dish. I've had better but I've had much worse. I don't know if they missed the basil for me but when I got my plate of add-ons, it didn't have basil. Otherwise, the flavor was good. The service was good as well. I called and aske what pho they recommend and they said Pho with rare beef, which sounded good to me. I went in to pick up, and the pho was packed well, soup, veggies and beef separate. What a horrible management, i gave them several tries previously and everytime disappointed either was a cold food or fun taste of meat this time. It was a piece of white hair in my food. I figured it out that the end when I got to the letter of the bottom, take it back to them. I show them. I said this doesn't look like a piece of the food looks like a white hair. he went to the back and came back. Service was very fast and server was quite polite. The restaurant is very clean inside. I was craving Pho So that is what I had, and I have to say it was pretty good. I think that the broth could have used more flavor/richness to it. It was served properly with all the accoutrement, sliced jalapeño, bean sprouts, lime wedge and fresh basil. We ordered the pork chow mein also and Again good, but not excellent. I wasn't aware that the chow mein does not come with rice. I'm sure that's an add-on but I didn't realize it until I got it home. We were in the area and decided to come to Viet Hoa for dinner. We were able to be seated right away. The restaurant is much bigger on the inside than from what it looks like on the outside. It was so cold inside. I'm not sure why. I ordered hot tea, but it took a while for it to come out. We couldn't decide whether to get the Vietnamese Egg Rolls or the Vietnamese Spring Rolls, so we got both. I really enjoyed them. I think they were a bit pricy though. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue. I'm not totally sure what kind of meat was in there as it only listed pork hock and something else on the menu, but there seemed to be other meat types in there too. It wasn't as spicy as I would have hoped, sadly. I'm really in between a 3 and a 4 star, but I'm leaning towards 3. read more

My husband and I stop by here for lunch today. The place seems pretty quiet. A lot of take out order and not so much dine in. Very clean and the restroom was clean as well. The food was okay. Really wished they had more condiment options for us to put in our pho broth. They only had Sriracha and Hoisin sauce packets. Which I think the packet is a great idea, I never been to a restaurant that gives sauce packets for pho. The Bún Nem Nướng, Chả Giò was good. I love the meatballs and fresh egg rolls. All our appetizers was great good. We loved how we didn't have to wait for any of our food. And the waiter always checked in on us and refill our water cup. read more

Viet Hoa is a solid Vietnamese place in an area that has been badly needing some more variety in restaurants. I've tried a couple different Bún dishes and the Pho, my wife has had the Hu Tieu Khô Seafood every time. All of it has been good. As others have mentioned, there is a pretty sizable Chinese menu. I've not tried any off those, but they look good from what I have seen on other tables and gives some options if your kids insist on fried rice or something. read more

Takeout was pretty quick - only took 15 min for a big order. Based on my experience, you can't go wrong with any of the Vietnamese options on the menu. Looked like there was a pretty decent sized dining space (atypical of family owned Asian restaurants) so could be a nice place to dine-in post-covid. It is located in a strip mall with a large parking lot. A11: Spring Roll (5/5) - longer, thinner spring roll so had more shrimp and pork in it than other typical spring rolls. Yummy peanut hoisin sauce to dip in. A10: Original Banh Mi (5/5) - good value, bread was pretty thin and sandwich was well stuffed with lots of meat. Got the original, but not the biggest fan of pork loaf in general so will probably try the grilled pork or grilled beef banh mi next time. 2: Pho Dac Biet (5/5) - good amount and variety of meat, similar to a Pho Deluxe you typically get at other Vietnamese restaurants. The broth tasted like real broth, as opposed to from a bouillon cube. BN3: Bun Thit Xao, Cha Gio (5/5) - this comes with grilled beef, but I prefer grilled pork and they were happy to accommodate - loved the grilled pork, really good flavor. Egg roll was delicious, wish it came with more. Didn't come with a whole lot of noodles though so not super filling. PT1: Chicken Pad Thai (2.5/5) - had no flavor, most of the flavor came from the lime wedge that I squeezed on top. Ordered a medium level of spice, but it was not spicy at all. Plentiful amount of noodles and sufficient amount of chicken. V5: Family Tofu (4/5) - tofu was good, the dish had a lot of flavor and good amount of veggies. Overall felt like it was a pretty healthy dish. Comes with rice. Smoothies with Bubbles (4/5) - had the mango and taro ones. Mango one wasn't overly sweet - tasted like the the frozen mangos from Costco, didn't seem like they used powder or syrup to flavor. Taro one had good taro flavor. Had a good amount of bubbles and was filling. Pretty pricey at $5.50 each though. read more

I love this place. Of course there are a lot of places to get pho in the twin cities, but there are not that many places where you can get QUALITY and delicious spring rolls. Do I drive out of my way for this spring rolls? Absolutely. Their pho falls on the same level of most local pho restaurants. There really isn't anything remarkable. But my favorite part is that every time I order takeout pho, it is always very hot by the time I get home. Even 20 minutes later as if it just was cooked seconds ago.
