Got some takeout a couple of weeks ago, and I had heard such amazing things about this place. We ordered the Lotus Banh Mi and Chicken Stir-Fry Rice Noodles. The food is ready when we arrived, and the person at the counter was really friendly. They looked busy, and it was a Tuesday night, so that says something! Both dishes were good, but neither are things I would probably get again. The Banh Mi was fresh, but it seemed to be missing something. The noodles were tasty, but they didn't blow me away. I would say I'm a connoisseur of sesame chicken. Out of the places I've tried Lotus has the best sesame chicken in Minnesota! I come here at least once a month and it does not disappoint. The boba tea and milk are delicious. The staff has always been kind and fast. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Asian food! I will say their pad Thai was not good so heads up if you plan on getting that. It had no veggies :( other than that all the other meals my group has had have been fantastic! I got for main entree chicken pad Thai, a fresh spring roll with shrimp and bbq pork and chicken fried rice. Plenty of food done to bring home. Others got pho and walnut shrimp. For more than a few reasons I like this location a bit more than the Loring park location. One factor is the parking. Very easy to find a place to park since it's in a strip mall. We went for dinner on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy so we were able to get a table and service was prompt. I only ordered apps - veggie egg rolls and jalapeño wontons. The egg rolls weren't very flavorful & were a bit too greasy. I also tried the sesame chicken which was decent. I've had a few other dishes from here on other visits & it's always been good overall. Such a great food spot, wish we lived closer! We swung by during happy hour, and got the lotus wings which are a couple dollars off. Super crispy with sweet, sour, savory flavors!! We tried bun Bo hue soup, classic pho, and a bahn mi as well. Our only mistake was ordering one of our soups size large - only do this if you want leftovers, the portion size is huge! Baby friendly as well, our car seat fit in the seat with us and we didn't feel uncomfortable if the little one made noise while we ate. My family also enjoys the cream cheese puffs. We had four entries which all were delicious. The only comment two of the ladies said was there entries didn't seem to be as flavorful as normal. To be honest, I was skeptical of Lotus in the beginning because the prices are a little higher than most Vietnamese restaurants in the Twin Cities area and I didn't see much Asians going here. But I'm glad I gave Lotus a few chances and it's now easily my favorite pho spot in Maple Grove. I love the pho dac biet here because it's savory and homey- the fresh herbs on the side are a must! And ask for chili oil if you like spicy. The mini shrimp egg rolls are my favorite appetizers here- always crispy and hot! They also have some great lunch specials and small soup/banh mi combo. Would love to give a 5/5 but when I do take out they sometimes forget to pack things like condiments for pho and a few times service when dining in can be a little absent. Still definitely recommend if you're in the growing Maple Grove area! read more

Went to The Lotus on a Wednesday evening around 7:15pm. Good amount of parking (strip mall), there is handicap parking out front, but the ramp is at the end of the sidewalk. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. The rug on the floor at the entry was a little dirty, but the rest of the restaurant was fairly clean. Host and servers were friendly. The employees seemed to be bustling and kept busy. They do have wine and beer, but we didn't have any. The food was decent, not super awesome. My partner had the iced Thai Tea and said it was good. The pork fried potstickers were not good. They were deep fried instead of pan fried so they were chewy and greasy, and there wasn't much filling. When the entrees came out there were no serving spoons (we eat family style) so we used the forks that were provided. The sesame chicken was good. Nice sauce, plenty on the dish. The beef in garlic sauce was ok. The sauce was very runny so it didn't really stick to the food. The meat was tender, plenty of vegetables, could probably use a little more garlic. Example: Minneapolis location has a lunch special for 12.50 that includes entree appetizer and a side like fried rice. Very affordable, right? At the Maple Grove location. The same lunch menu special was 17.99. You tell me which one you would choose! The only con of the Minneapolis location is that the parking is terrible! Very small lot. Best cream cheese wontons in Minnesota! Otherwise they have a good variety of dishes and combinations. Big portions of orange chicken, general Tso's. For an Asian restaurant, this one is more on Americanized " Chinese food" side, but still hits the spot if that is what you feel like. Really friendly service. It is kid friendly as well. This place can get busy at certain times of day, weekends midday seem to be a peak for them so there could be a slight wait. read more

First, we didn't receive the fried rice, the Lotus wings were Oyster wings, Kung Pao was ordered with chicken fried rice...received white rice. As I consider the history of my patronage at this establishment, it is not worth the potential aggravation/frustration anymore. I had a Vietnamese combo salad with grilled Pork, egg roll and I added Shrimp to it. The salad was very delicious. I also got a Mango milk tea with black tapioca which was delicious as well. She has a more sophisticated palette. Would I recommend it? Yes. You really should try it. Why not a higher review? There are a handful of better Vietnamese Restaurants.
