Terrible customer service. The guy didn't want to take my order and tells the woman prepping food to do it. She takes my payment with her dirty glove and returns my credit card covered in grease. Terrible! The food is bad, the prices are high, it's a punishment to go here. The spring roll is a rice paper burrito of lettuce, no flavor at all, and it just falls apart upon trying to eat it. The Pad Thai is just a mass of terrible tasting rice noodles with one (1) chunk of chicken that tasted like it had been frozen and reheat many times before getting in my dish. Watch out, Thai food awesomeness ahead! Needed a quick dinner after a long day in the office. Had a craving for Pad Thai and saw Thai Express on the way to the hotel. Took a chance and decide to stop by. The staff were friendly and made a couple of recommendations. I went with the Pad Thai, spice lvl 4 out of 5. They cook it pretty much right in front of you which I thought was pretty cool. While I waited, I checked what other yelpers had to say. Looked like some mixed reviews and some issues with various delivery services. The food came out and looked great (forgot to take a picture). The portion was more than enough for a single person. In my opinion the taste was on point, with just the right of heat that I expected. To be honest, I would have eaten the whole plate, but I was completely full. I would have taken the rest back to the hotel, but was leaving the next day. This place is worth stopping by and trying it out. Came in for a midweek lunch and met with the friendly owner. It seems like all the kinks were worked out because everything was super efficient. We ordered several dishes and some of them were served before we finished paying! For a casual work lunch place food was GREAT quality. My saw my order was cooked by the guy who also worked as the cashier. This is a RIP-OFF ! I saw the place 2 weeks ago because it was recently opened and to give it a try, because I love Thai Food. Went there on a Sunday evening. We got the Chicken Pad Thai and Beef Pad see ew. We got our food for dine in. It's a small place with a few tables. You can enter the restaurant from the back or front door. The place is clean. You go up to the cashier and place your order there. With that your receipt has your ticket number. They do orders by ticket number. Once your food is ready they'll call your ticket number. Anyways we got our pad Thai for spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. It was filled with a lot of bean sprouts in it. Which was a bummer. Pad see ew was ok but not much flavor. Probably will come back to try it again next time. There are better choices -- almost any of the family-owned Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese restaurants offer lower prices, better food, and better service. The setup here is pure fast food. Order at the counter, pay, fill your own drink cup, pick your own utensils and napkins, the go back to the counter to get your food. Bus your own dishes. And they have the gall to ask for tips! $30 for two main dishes, one add-on egg roll and one drink. For that kind of money we can have superb food and ambience at MT Noodles with waitress service. Many other smaller family restaurant competitors also provide better food at lower price points. Physically, the tables are arranged along a long hall that wraps around the kitchen, leading to a back door that admitted solid blasts of frigid winter air while we were there. There is a Korean fast casual restaurant across the street. Everything is better than what you get at Thai Express.. For the record, we have traveled and eaten in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. So we are familiar with what good food from this part of the world tastes like. read more

My daughter and I were shopping in Maple Grove and decided to take an hour meal at this establishment. The 11-year-old had enjoyed a lunch there previously with her mother but I had never been here. There was not very many people here, and I was intrigued by the ordering system. We ordered our entrées as well as one spring roll. Sadly, the drinks were not very good as the soda machine made the beverages flap. However with some adjusting, I settled on lemonade. The entrées we ordered came out hot and fresh. They were very delicious! Even my notoriously picky 11-year-old enjoyed her meal! Not only that but the service was exceptionally friendly and commendable. The chicken in the curry was like shoe leather soaking in over salty curry sauce, and the rice was clearly leftover rice from a previous day. It was hard as a rock. There were time I literally couldn't continue chewing and had to spit the rice out. I was hoping the dumplings would save the meal, but alas they forget to cook them. All employees were wearing masks and face masks are required for entry (as they should). The place itself looks very nice and clean, employees were super nice and friendly. I ordered a Shrimp Pad Thai with medium spice and it was very great, the shrimp, noodles, scrambled eggs, everything in the pad thai was thoroughly cooked and it all added up to a delicious pad thai at the end of the day. One suggestion I would have for Thai Express would be to start accepting Apple Pay and chip cards, would be super awesome convenience wise in the future. One thing I find pretty cool about this place is that it's halal, pad thai restaurants for the most of it don't use halal meat, but this place does which is pretty dope. Set up a wonderful order for a beef curry from this restaurant for delivery through UBEREats as the app offered free delivery if I ordered within 12 minutes. I hastily ordered what looked to be a welcome meal. After waiting for 12 minutes, I was notified that the restaurant decided not to prepare the order. It took me some time to locate a number to call, but at 8:41 I finally got someone on the phone who said they would not prepare it as it was within 30 minutes of the restaurant closing. I ordered mild pad thai with tofu and my husband ordered spicy beef pad see ew. We did not taste of spiciness at all, specially on my husband's plate. The noodle that they used for pad see ew wasn't the normal egg noodle i eat at other restaurants. It was thicker than my pad thai noodle but it wasn't the regular one that you would find at thai restaurant. Noodles were sticked together in groups. He wasn't really happy with his. Mine was okay, except it was pretty saucy and salty because they just mixed everything including beansprout. So we figured the restaurant it self is pretty new, they are not traditional thai.
