Had an event at the nearby Granada Theater, so stopped in for Happy Hour! Street parking available and a nearby paid ramp if busy. The interior of this space is so well done with warm colors, elevated decorations, and plenty of flair. Our server was on top of things and efficient throughout our stay. We shared the fresh shrimp and chicken rolls, which were yummy and had a great dipping sauce. The Chicken Pad Thai was also delicious, with plenty of sauce which I appreciated. If I had any notes, I thought the serving size was a bit smaller than other Thai spots I've been to. Overall, a great option if you are in the area and craving some good Thai food!

Egg rolls with a super yummy peanut sauce

We had an event at the Granada Theater tonight and we had some time to burn, so my friend, who has frequented Amazing Thailand in years past, recommended it. This was a first for me! I love Thai food, but I'll admit I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to spice and trying new. We were able to join in on the happy hour specials, which included tap beer, wine and rail drinks. Plus, they had SO many discounted appetizers. We tried several as you will see in the photos I attached. Each dish was delicious and served beautifully! I think the cracked chicken was my favorite. The true definition of 'don't judge a book by its cover'. They don't look like much, but yum! So juicy and flavorful. We did order one noodle dish to share between the three of us. We landed on Pad Se Ew. I was thrilled chinese broccoli was used (my preference), but for the price, especially after you add a protein, I thought the serving size and the overall taste was mediocre at best. My friend pointed out how sweet it was and she's right, soooo sweet, too sweet. But, the ambiance, especially this time of year, was just so authentic and peaceful. I love the small touches throughout the restaurant. Can't wait to bring my husband next time.

Pad Krapow

I was craving Chicken Pad KraPow and Boat Noodles, so I splurged and ordered both for delivery from Amazing Thailand. The Pad KraPow was unbelievably delicious. The basil flavor really stood out in the best way. I've had this dish from other restaurants where the basil isn't strong enough, but they nailed it here. My only minor complaint is that it didn't come with an egg, as most places typically serve it that way. Still, I will absolutely be ordering this again. It's one of the better Pad KraPows available in the Twin Cities. The Boat Noodles were also very good and flavorful, though I do think some other restaurants have them beat on this particular dish. That said, I still enjoyed it a lot; the broth was rich and tasty. I haven't dined in at Amazing Thailand yet, but I definitely plan to visit in person to get a feel for the overall vibe and service.

Pad Se Ew with shrimp

Amazing Thailand really does have amazing Thai food. First time I had the pad see ew with shrimp and today I had the pumpkin curry with plant based duck. I love that they offer plant based duck as an option, as most restaurants don't. They included rice with the curry, which many Thai restaurants do not. Only caveat is that I ordered the pumpkin curry with level 1 spice but it was a bit spicier than I anticipated for level 1. Fortunately the rice balanced out the spice and my spice tolerance has grown somewhat in the last two years. Both times I had delivery so can't comment on service or ambiance. That said, I'd love to dine in person sometime and hopefully the service and ambiance are just as great as the food!

Beautiful party room

We used to come eat at this restaurant all the time before covid. Everyone's birthday, engagement, divorce, whatever event it is we always came here. Parking just a block away, we used to walk through Calhoun square and then cross the street. Restaurant still looks the same, nice party room, huge bar in the front, and long dining room on the right. We sat at the bar thinking we'll just order some drinks prior to the event. Then when we opened the menu, there was a nostalgic feeling. We used to order 5-10 course meals when we dine here. My friend suggested getting something to munch on that's quick and easy. We ordered the fried pork belly, comes with spicy sauce to dip.

My son and i ate at this restaurant last time i visited him in Minneapolis. We had the Tom yum soup and it was absolutely amazing. I keep wanting to go back to this restaurant and have that again.

The name doesn't lie! Absolutely AMAZING! Very good service- our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers (ate them before we could snag a pic!!) - Sai Oua (spicy pork sausage) and Nua Swan (kind of like a tender beef jerky). I had the Pad Krapow with chicken- sooooo good. Level 3 on the spice was just enough to provide a little kick. Washed it down with sparkling mango cocktail. Hubs had the Amazing Curry, which I tasted, too. Such a wonderful rich flavor. Both served with white tice- perfectly cooked. He also had the Mai Thailand cocktail, and said it was delicious. Will definitely be back!!

Pad Thai

Came here for dinner before going to the Granada Theater which is next door. There is a nearby parking garage available to park at otherwise there is street parking available. Liked the overall ambiance of the restaurant, has a nice interior design. Servers were friendly and welcoming but took an awhile to get orders placed and to get checked out. Tried the boat noodles and the pad Thai. The pad Thai was great, very flavorful and would definitely get again. The boat noodles were good but is heavy.

Nong's Thai Cuisine consistently delivers incredible flavors and warm service. We stopped in for…read moredinner and were absolutely delighted from start to finish. We began with the Roasted Cashews, which were perfectly seasoned and addictive. For mains, the Red Curry was rich, complex, and comforting, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the Pineapple Fried Rice. Hands down, the best version we have ever had--perfectly balanced sweetness and savory depth. The drink pairings were spot on: I enjoyed a lovely glass of Pinot Noir that complemented the spice beautifully, while my partner had a crisp, cold Sapporo. Nong's is a true gem in Golden Valley for authentic, high-quality Thai food. The service makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!

The service is friendly. We were greeted shortly after entering. The restaurant was fairly busy, with many others dining in, and many takeout orders coming in as well, but we were seated right away! Several employees checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our food throughout our dining experience! They have many vegetarian and gluten free options. They also have some vegan options or items that can be made vegan upon request! We had the cream cheese wontons as an appetizer! The filling was very smooth and creamy and slightly sweet. We also had pad see yew with tofu and pad thai with mock duck. The servings are generous and each entree can easily last for 2 meals. They include a lot of the protein of choice, which I greatly appreciate. Some thai restaurants ask you for your desired level of spice, but we weren't asked here. They were mild (no spice) by default. The pad see ew had a savory, slightly sweet flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the Chinese broccoli had a nice little crunch. The pad thai had a good balance of sweet, salty, and savory. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice! The mango wasn't particularly ripe, but the coconut milk provided the perfect amount of sweetness. I enjoy Nong's Thai and would recommend it!

Next, the Fried Brussel Sprouts with the sweet and savory dressing and pork belly is a new personal favorite take on the popular side dish. The Beef Rendang was a delightful mix of spice, herbs, coconut, and tamarind. The beef was tender and the broth was perfectly rich! The toasted coconut milkjam ice cream was an odd, crumbling, dry texture that was not enjoyable. Might be the worst dairy free ice cream I've had unfortunately. The service was very attentive, friendly and helpful and I'm excited to return!

It definitely leans more on the $$$ side, but the quality and overall experience make it worth it for a special night out. The vibe of the restaurant is one of my favorite parts though. The lighting is cozy, the decor is beautiful without feeling overdone, and the whole space has a trendy but relaxed energy that makes you want to stay awhile. First, I really wish we had been provided ice for our water since it's served from their room temp tap water vase setup. Also, the menu is VERY hard to read and I had a lot of questions about the ingredients. I just don't feel like our server walked us through the dishes/options very well, which would've helped a ton for first timers! Also, I wanted to try the Massaman for yummy brisket, but sadly they were out of it and didn't let us know until we tried ordering this meal. I wish they were proactive about letting us know it's out. With that being said, the food itself was still very yummy overall! For apps, the Siin Swan (beef jerky) is a MUST! It was a huge portion for the price and honestly one of the best values on the menu. The Thai basil wings were also incredible and definitely worth ordering here (or at Gai Noi or Lat14 if you've never had them before), they're so flavorful and crispy! For the "shareable" dishes, we ordered the green curry octopus and scallop crudo. I'm normally terrified of octopus/tentacles, but this dish was actually super good! The potatoes, peas, and bacon alongside it were delicious. The only thing missing was the green curry sauce didn't have a ton of flavor, which could've been the wow factor that pushed the dish over the top. The scallop crudo was a beautiful presentation, but looked nothing like the photos on Khâluna'a website. It's served cold in a chilled coconut lime broth. I personally LOVE lime and enjoyed it, but everyone else at the table thought it was overpowering. Also, the portion size was shockingly tiny for a dish labeled "to share" and costing $30+. These definitely felt more apps (or even individual entrees) than table shareables. I wish they changed this! The Laksa entrée was SO yummy! The peanut/chili tasting curry broth poured tableside was such a fun touch, and I appreciated it being served separately. Perfectly cooked shrimp, tofu, and all the toppings made this dish one of my favorites of the night. The bucatini, which I believe is one of their signature dishes, was also excellent, but definitely not your classic Italian bucatini, so just know that prior to ordering! It had chili/onion crunch toppings and a very undercooked homemade noodle, but somehow still worked because it was lightly sauced yet packed with flavor. Super unique and delicious! For dessert, the pecan shortbread was amazing with a homemade chocolate mousse that was TO DIE FOR! Don't skip this! Overall, really good eats, beautiful atmosphere, and creative dishes, but definitely a bit hit-or-miss when it comes to portion size and value for the price. I'm curious how their brunch is next!

The flavors here are wildly different. I've been here before with friends and they've ordered the curry, but the curry looked too watery and that kind of should've told me that it wasn't going to be a hit of a Thai place for me. I like closer to a thicker sauce for coconut curry. Usually the Thai places that have more watery coconut curry sauces just hits a little lower & it def shows. Amazing Thai has this same issue lol. Now, this place too... I feel lost without a fav Thai place in Minne lol. The string beans were crunchy in the papaya salad which was great but the entire sauce tasted like MSG & lacks the Lao shrimp paste flavor although it was more grey since I did order the Lao style but not enough shrimp paste flavor as it should have.
