(It has catered local Thai festivals, thus is definitely the real deal. ) Overall the lower Yelp score is largely the "3.5 star Chinese restaurant rule," and only reinforces that this place is authentic. Truly everything on the menu seems just a bit too expensive, but "Amazing" food has kept this place on our radar for years. A few things you need to order: Tom Kha - a creamy soup that you will have seconds in your dreams. Choose a protein, and maybe go spice level 2 or 3; this dish doesn't need to be spicy. Nam Neaung- this is make your own spring role at the table. Who wouldn't love this? If you're adventurous (or for the initiated): Papaya salad - candidate for being the local gold standard. Both Thai and Laos style are v good here. Tips: The spice scale here skews authentic. So a 4/5 spice level is seriously spicy by Thai food standards. It has a cool Asian ambiance with facade of a building inside the building for the party/family dining area. They have drinks also. And good for vegans read more

Definitely not Amazing, but fairly good. I tried the Pad Se Ew with fried tofu at +2 heat; the heat level was zero, so at least I know I could have comfortably gone to a +4. The flavor was good but I found the fried tofu spongy and that texture put me off. Next I tried the Jalapeño Cream Cheese won tons on a buy one, get one free special. I was surprised at the size of them. And I had 12 (!). They were huge, thick, tough, and very, very chewy. I could eat the nob of spicy cream cheese in the middle, but after working to chew one whole one for about 5 minutes, I simply ripped out and ate the middles and threw the dough away. read more

Cute Asian decor as soon as you walk in! I especially love the room with the colorful upside-down umbrellas on the ceiling, it's so beautiful. We came for happy hour and tried several appetizers and drinks. The food was good overall, but not great. I used to love their Pad See Ew, but this time I was pretty disappointed by the tiny portion size for a $22 entree, which may keep me from coming back for a while. Plus, I think the sauce was a bit too sweet (and I hardly EVER think that). Pad Se Ew (2/5) - too sweet, tiny portion for a $22 entree Pork Egg Rolls (4/5) - love the crushed peanuts in the sweet and sour sauce Cream Cheese Wontons (5/5) so much yummy cream cheese! Today I stopped in Amazing Thailand between afternoon events. The restaurant I was looking for had disappeared from the block. I ordered the Fried Pork Meatballs appetizer. I would recommend this restaurant anytime, but would not recommend this appetizer. I was expecting a more tender meatball than what I received. If I thought further about how these were being prepared I would have realized they were going to be dense and a bit tougher than I expected. The portion size was good for 2-3 people and is definitely a shareable appetizer. The staff was cheerful, gracious, and attentive. Had an event at the nearby Granada Theater, so stopped in for Happy Hour! Street parking available and a nearby paid ramp if busy. The interior of this space is so well done with warm colors, elevated decorations, and plenty of flair. Our server was on top of things and efficient throughout our stay. We shared the fresh shrimp and chicken rolls, which were yummy and had a great dipping sauce. The Chicken Pad Thai was also delicious, with plenty of sauce which I appreciated. If I had any notes, I thought the serving size was a bit smaller than other Thai spots I've been to. Overall, a great option if you are in the area and craving some good Thai food! read more

We had an event at the Granada Theater tonight and we had some time to burn, so my friend, who has frequented Amazing Thailand in years past, recommended it. This was a first for me! I love Thai food, but I'll admit I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to spice and trying new. We were able to join in on the happy hour specials, which included tap beer, wine and rail drinks. Plus, they had SO many discounted appetizers. We tried several as you will see in the photos I attached. Each dish was delicious and served beautifully! I think the cracked chicken was my favorite. The true definition of 'don't judge a book by its cover'. They don't look like much, but yum! So juicy and flavorful. We did order one noodle dish to share between the three of us. We landed on Pad Se Ew. I was thrilled chinese broccoli was used (my preference), but for the price, especially after you add a protein, I thought the serving size and the overall taste was mediocre at best. My friend pointed out how sweet it was and she's right, soooo sweet, too sweet. But, the ambiance, especially this time of year, was just so authentic and peaceful. I was craving Chicken Pad KraPow and Boat Noodles, so I splurged and ordered both for delivery from Amazing Thailand. The Pad KraPow was unbelievably delicious. The basil flavor really stood out in the best way. I've had this dish from other restaurants where the basil isn't strong enough, but they nailed it here. My only minor complaint is that it didn't come with an egg, as most places typically serve it that way. Still, I will absolutely be ordering this again. It's one of the better Pad KraPows available in the Twin Cities. The Boat Noodles were also very good and flavorful, though I do think some other restaurants have them beat on this particular dish. That said, I still enjoyed it a lot; the broth was rich and tasty. Amazing Thailand really does have amazing Thai food. First time I had the pad see ew with shrimp and today I had the pumpkin curry with plant based duck. I love that they offer plant based duck as an option, as most restaurants don't. They included rice with the curry, which many Thai restaurants do not. Only caveat is that I ordered the pumpkin curry with level 1 spice but it was a bit spicier than I anticipated for level 1. Fortunately the rice balanced out the spice and my spice tolerance has grown somewhat in the last two years. Both times I had delivery so can't comment on service or ambiance. That said, I'd love to dine in person sometime and hopefully the service and ambiance are just as great as the food! read more

We used to come eat at this restaurant all the time before covid. Everyone's birthday, engagement, divorce, whatever event it is we always came here. Parking just a block away, we used to walk through Calhoun square and then cross the street. Restaurant still looks the same, nice party room, huge bar in the front, and long dining room on the right. We sat at the bar thinking we'll just order some drinks prior to the event. Went in on a Thursday evening. Customer service was great. Friendly and accomodating. We order the chicken wings with Sweet and Sour Sauce - the sauce was great (Do not expect this to taste like your average sweet and source sauce at the store). I think they could have used tamarind as a base, which is so great if that is the case. Wings are good. Fresh, crispy, not salty at all. Cooked through well, saw no blood (You know what I am talking about: when they do not fry the chicken long enough, you can see blood when you bite into it). Then we ordered the crispy noodle dish. Fresh noodle. The sauce can be a tad less sweet, but overall was a good dish. Then tried the durian sticky rice. Was great! Dined here with a friend on 2/6/26. They've always served really delicious food. But NOW! They have a new menu with photos that make you want to order everything! Their head chef has remained the same but this is a new higher level of awesome flavors from Thailand!!! I ordered a soup with glass noodles and the most lovely big shrimp that I've ever eaten in MN. Amazing Thailand is my favorite Thai restaurant in The Twin Cities. Everything on the menu is delicious and the service is very attentive and friendly! I especially love their Lao papaya salad and tom yum soup! Unlike some Thai restaurants, they add lots of ingredients into their tom yum such as squid, shrimp, tomatoes, mushrooms and more! These ingredients are a necessity for good tom yum! Amazing Thailand also has a full bar with a disco ball which is fun at night! Parking is a little bit of an issue as you have to park a couple of blocks away, but still totally worth it! I love this place! read more

The name doesn't lie! Absolutely AMAZING! Very good service- our waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers (ate them before we could snag a pic!!) - Sai Oua (spicy pork sausage) and Nua Swan (kind of like a tender beef jerky). I had the Pad Krapow with chicken- sooooo good. Level 3 on the spice was just enough to provide a little kick. Washed it down with sparkling mango cocktail. Came here for dinner before going to the Granada Theater which is next door. There is a nearby parking garage available to park at otherwise there is street parking available. Liked the overall ambiance of the restaurant, has a nice interior design. Servers were friendly and welcoming but took an awhile to get orders placed and to get checked out. We ordered on DoorDash from here and wow! Was it great! We ordered a chicken Laab, medium and a pad Thai with shrimp, medium as well as a mango sticky rice. The Laab was to die for. Perfect flavors. It did have bell peppers which in my experience isn't very traditional but it tasted good so, so be it. I couldnt keep my friend out of my Laab. Seriously it was that good! The pad Thai was also delicious. Flavorful, rich, and overall delicious. Same goes for the mango sticky rice. I also enjoy the décor inside and out. Inside is very cozy and inviting with the deep rich colors. While their alley outside has an eclectic mix of different seating options. Service is generally good and the food comes out wicked fast. Sometimes I wonder how they manage to make things up so fast in their kitchen. I enjoy their chicken wings, chicken pad thai, saracha fried rice with beef, pad see ew with chicken, Jalapeno cream cheese wontons. I had a hankering for Chinese or Thai food, and Monday night proved to be a terrible night for that - most places were closed. I had driven around looking for some places, but unfortunately Yelp's posted hours/days of operation were outdated for the 3-4 places I scoped out. Despite Yelp saying otherwise, all were closed. So I went back to my hotel in a huff and tried DoorDash. Amazing Thailand came up and I gleefully ordered Drunken Noodles and Spring Rolls. Both were excellent. It's hard for me to rank these Drunken Noodle with others I've had, because desperation and hunger probably contributed to their amazingness! This is such a great place for authentic Thai food! However, I am afraid they are way overpriced and their portions are too small to be charging such high prices. a pad Thai can run you $23 (depending on your choice of protein) and the portion is the size of an app. It used to be a huge plate that was sharable and they have really dwindled on their portions. I understand there should be inflation to keep up with costs, but I am afraid they have raised their prices and also lowered their portions. The service also took a long time for server to come by to take our order. Service along with portions and high prices will deter me from going back. read more

Living in Minneapolis, this is my go-to for Thai food. Amazing Thailand is located in Uptown, South Minneapolis in a busy street. Parking is not the easiest on weekends. The restaurant itself is nice, low-light and well decorated. I love the Thai dishes here, taste is on point and they have options for spice levels. My favorite dish is the Mee Ka Tee. My order is always spice level 2X and added chicken on this dish. The red curry has a nice texture, flavor wise it has a coconuty-sweet tone to it and spicy seasonings. If you order carry out, the noodles come separate from the curry. This dish is good for 2 generous servings, I never finish it in one sitting. I'm glad they have the option to get it deliver on doordash. It has become my comfort meal on cold days! I recommend my favorite dish. I've had others but nothing beats Mee ka tee! read more
