Finally stopped by this place for a friend's birthday. The restaurant is beautiful inside with lots of natural light, which made the atmosphere feel really nice. We ordered a few things to share and each got our own dish. I had the Duck Fried Rice, it was ok, but a bit salty for my taste. The birthday girl ordered the Bucatini Talay, and other friend got the Mango Fish and Massaman Curry. The Basil Wings were ok, but the Sakoo was good. Overall, the food was decent, but I felt it was a little expensive for what it was. The space itself is very pretty, so it's still worth trying, especially for a special occasion.

Upscale Laotian food done well. The ambiance is gorgeous albeit a little out of place in my mind. I feel like I need to be on some beach front in the Mediterranean. We made reservations on a Fri for a group of 3 and got seated right on time. To start they gave us a drink taster made of jasmine tea, pineapple and coconut water that was tasty. We decided to get wine but there were quite a few unique cocktail options. Tried a couple reds and they did pair well with the strong flavors of the meal. For food we got the basil wings, green curry octopus, duck fried rice and mango salmon. Best was the duck fried rice, followed by basil wings, green curry octopus and then the mango salmon. The duck fried rice had really good wok hei and the duck was plentiful and cooked well. The basil wings had a nice crispiness and flavor. The tempura jalapeno and basil was really tasty too. The octopus was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the green curry sauce was delicious. The Chinese sausage got kind of lost though. The mango salmon was the only miss. The mango flavor was mild/barely there. The salmon was a little tough too. It comes with choice of jasmine or sticky rice and we got the sticky rice. Service was very friendly and we never felt rushed. Would recommend trying at least once.

Khaluna is one of my favorite restaurants in Minnesota. My most recent visit was when my husband took me there for my birthday dinner earlier this month. We ordered a couple of our favorite dishes and tried a couple of new ones. Everything was delicious as usual. Service was very good. Our waitress had a nice little birthday dessert for me with cute candle on it.

Celebrating with family I got to try Khâluna for the first time for brunch. I drive by it often and finally I was going in to try it as they're now offering a brunch menu. Let me start by saying the atmosphere is transporting. From a design perspective It's like you've entered a restaurant in LA or even Bali! I ordered their more refined style Bloody Mary and soaked up the relaxing and chic environment in anticipation of what the food would be like! Every drink was picture worthy and tasted hand-crafted and had its own unique identity without losing its potency. Every dish we thoroughly enjoyed and our table shared everything. Our server was thoughtful and friendly and we appreciated that tremendously as we're somewhat distracted with our own celebrating and chatter. Loved this meal and the ambiance is incomparable. Can't wait to return!

Words literally cannot describe how amazing this food was. I was visiting my friend in Minnesota who is going to law school and I stumbled upon this restaurant before my flight back to California. Honestly I'm so glad this restaurant was in my itinerary. The service here was super friendly we came here for brunch. I didn't know this was considered Lao style cuisine since I haven't really had Laos food like this. Honestly everything here was a 5/5 and I don't say that kindly. This is one of those restaurants you have to try while being in Minneapolis!

WOW! This restaurant is definitely up there for me. What initially drew me in was the aesthetic from the outside, and once I made the reservation and headed in, it did not disappoint. The hosts were friendly and helped get us seated right on time for our reservation. The lighting was moody but not so dark that you couldn't read the menu--perfectly balanced. While they don't have a full bar, the wine selection was excellent, and I really appreciated the notes indicating which wines paired well with different menu items. Our server wasn't extremely familiar with the menu, but she was incredibly kind and attentive. When we asked questions related to allergies, she went out of her way to triple-check with the chef and reported back quickly, which made us feel very well taken care of. And the food... SO GOOD! Everything we ordered was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish--highly recommend if you are in the area.

I had one night in the Twin Cities, and from everything I had heard the region excels most in Somalian and most Southeast Asian cuisines. In 3 decades in New York I had never tried Laotian food, and so visiting this upmarket buzzy spot seemed like the appropriate move. The yellow curry with squash was quite good - I'm not sure if butternut squash is a traditional centerpiece of the dish, but the texture was excellent. It tasted similar to some Burmese potato curries I've tasted in the past. The vegetarian laab was a little disappointing - the mushrooms were a bit dry and the flavor didn't pack much of a punch.

Wowzers! Spa-like experience from visuals, bathroom style, high end service explaining the menu, real food with spices and coat service. My sister suggested Khâluna and I'm so glad she did! We made a day of reservation for Monday at 5pm. Upon arrival, we were greeted nicely while our table got prepped and were seated quickly. There was a nice gentleman who walked by our table and inquired if we'd like our jackets taken and hung up. Obviously we said yes as jackets take up space (I can see how this service will be much appreciated for the upcoming winter months). The interior decorating screams bamboo tropical vacation with a classy approach. From the green plants to the singular table lights, Khâluna doesn't skip a beat. Every part of the dining experience is top tier including the women's bathroom (and I'm sure men's as well). The woman's bathroom had 2 purse hooks and hand towels with a full length body mirror - thank you! Before our meal, our server gave us a few small shot style NA drinks to cleanse our palates. Our table split a few appetizers including the basil wings, chicken somosas and maple braised squash. Everything was a chef's kiss. The drink menu is exquisite as well and has a variety of NA options along with alcohol. I opted for the NA No Dhos Margarita which was fantastic containing dhos tequila, agave de los andes aqara refugio, dhos orange liqueur, pineapple gum syrup, ginger, el guapo chicory pecan bitters and key lime! Yum. For our entrees, my table all got the Massaman which I highly recommend. It contained brisket, sweet potatoes, roasted red onions, massaman curry broth, and toasted hazelnut. It was a stand out menu item for sure. Our bellies were far too full to take advantage of the lovely dessert menu so perhaps on my next visit we will. Thank you, thank you!! It is restaurants like Khâluna that do it right from entry to departure.

First thing f orthe service and hospitality are amazing. We arrived early for our reservation and sat at the bar. We were kindly greeted and giving a sample drink well we picked out our cocktail. They were good a little bit too many gin drinks for me but very pretty and well mixed. They treated my wife well giving her a birthday desert with a candle and several pallet cleansers throughout the dinner. 5 out of 5. It's a casual nice establishment with nothing over the top but a nice open concept that is not too loud. 4 out of 5 The food is lovely although like anywhere some things are better than others. We started with the somosa which was very good more fusion as it was in an egg roll wrapper. For dinner we got the Longan rice to share which was pretty good. Solid 3.5 I chose the Duck which was pretty good although for 45$s could have had a bit more on the plate. Not really a share item and more of a small entree with a salad. The dressing and sauce were very good though. 3.5 to 4 The best dish was the stuffed quail. Very nicely deboned and stuffed over a delicious rice congee. Tasty and good quality for the price. 5 out of 5. Overall it's some of the best hospitality I've seen at a restaurant, the food is a bit of a mixed bag from amazing to ehh. So my overall rating would be about a 3.5 so I'll give it a 4.

My husband and I went to Khaluna for a Friday date night, and the evening started strong with complimentary tea shots. I ordered the Chai Qu cocktail, and my husband asked for a regular Old Fashioned instead of the $35 version on the menu, which they accommodated. We kicked things off with the Red Snapper Crudo and the Sakoo. My husband was skeptical about trying the Sakoo, but we both ended up loving it. The crudo was incredible--the chilled coconut-lime broth with the snapper was so tasty. My only complaint is that the plate was so shallow, it did not contain as much broth as expected. Still, I'd order it again in a heartbeat. For entrées, I went with the Massaman Curry and my husband chose the Red Curry. We eat Thai curry at least twice a week--Bangkok Thai Deli and Li-Su Thai Kitchen own our souls--so we're not easy to impress. But Khaluna came through. I liked the texture that the hazelnut brought to my dish; it was a really nice touch. We both agreed his red curry was superior. Both dishes could've used a bit more broth, but to be fair, we could also "use a bit more broth" in almost every aspect of our lives, so that may be a us problem. We finished with a delicious passion fruit sorbet. Khaluna is a sister restaurant to Gai Noi and Lat 14- both fantastic; and is connected to the now-closed Lemongrass, which I still think about like a lost love. Whoever runs these places knows exactly what they're doing, and I fully support everything they touch. Is Khaluna pricey? Yes. Did I regret a single penny? Absolutely not. The service was perfect, the vibes were immaculate, and the food was worth every dollar. We will 100% be back.

Khâluna continues to impress with its flavors and creativity and visited them on Oct 13. The valet parking is convenient and smooth -- definitely a plus when the restaurant gets busy. The food was excellent as always. I absolutely love their Basil Wings and Duck Fried Rice -- both are packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. I tried their congee again this time; while I prefer the duck congee they serve in the winter, the quail congee offered in summer is still delicious and lighter, perfect for the season. The dessert was a standout -- sweet, tangy, and beautifully presented (photo attached). I can't remember the name, but it had berries and a lovely balance of textures and flavors. If anyone from the restaurant sees this, please help me identify it because I'd absolutely order it again! The only downside this visit was the service by a sommelier, which was unfortunately abysmal -- slow, inattentive, and not up to their usual standard. It didn't match the quality of the food or the atmosphere. Still, Khâluna's dishes make it worth returning. Their presentation, seasonal creativity, and flavor combinations always deliver something memorable.

Wow! Just wow..... what an evening..... our first time here as "out of towners" visiting family... oh man, I wish we lived closer....I want to come back yesterday!!! Ambience is sublime. Service is spot on. Food is incredibly delicious. Creative, delicious, unique food. Cocktails are sooo special. We even splurged and had dessert...the experience kept us wanting more (we just didn't want it to end). Reservations are recommended. They fill up fast and the space isn't terribly large... but it's worth it if you need to wait a bit.

Ill start with the ambiance. This place is clean and open, yet intimate and cozy. It feels like your rich aunts living room. You could spend HOURS hanging out there and drinking wine. Which, by the way, the wine selection was great. The food was incredible. It felt impossible to pick. What we did pick was so yummy. I highly recommend the duck fried rice. We are looking forward to trying more. The servers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I will say, don't come here if you are in a rush. The sense from the staff is that there is no hurry. We made the mistake of setting reservations for dinner before a concert. But this doesn't reflect poorly on the service, as the best way to enjoy Khaluna is leisurely and with good company.

They serve some 80s-themed signature cocktails, such as the TMN Tea, Mike Tyson's Drunk Out, Macha Man Randy Savage and the People's Margarita, and have a huge assortment of tap beer. I tried both and they were really good. The cocktails are stiff and savory. Be careful when ordering some beer, though; some of them are THC-infused. Drinking those may get you in trouble at certain jobs. I got the Princess Peach Punch and Raspberry Cider tap beer. The place has a mixed crowd, age-wise. There were 21-year-olds to 60-year-olds. It was a pretty low-key spot that has specials every night. They have limited food options that feature pizza. There weren't many people there while I was there, but it was still a really fun place. I enjoyed my time there. I recommend checking this spot out.

I came here a few days ago during their "crabby hour" from 8-10 pm and we all each ordered our set of a truffle fries, a Granada slider, and a mahi mahi taco. The fries were incredible. They were super crispy, cooked perfectly and I love truffle with fries. The best part however was the aioli that came paired with it. It had a citrusy, umami flavor that was just so incredible I would have taken a whole jar home if I was able to. Absolutely perfect and can make any dish. The Granada slider was also awesome. It was bigger than I expected and included that wonderful aioli again, along with some greens, the patty, manchego cheese, and bacon. It was delicious and once again that aioli is just perfect and it was a much larger amount of food than I was expecting. I also had the mahi mahi taco as well which was good, but not my favorite. I'd probably try something instead of this again next time. Also, the staff is super funny and really awesome. We had Cassie (sorry if I got this wrong) and she was super kind, made a lot of jokes, and even gave us a tour of the theatre when we asked if we could take a peak to see what it looks like. Incredible service, we had a really great time with her. We all are definitely going to come back soon, and maybe even come for a show! But the food alone is worth a visit for sure in my opinion. I strongly recommend the Granada Slider and you have to get the truffle fries with the aioli. A side note the menu is a little confusing as they are transitioning menus so be patient as the staff have no control and the food is worth the confusion.

At one point it even seemed that they forgot about us and the manger noticed so she made sure to get our food to us. The server later apologized and was very kind but I couldn't help but notice she took the time to chit chat with coworkers while we waited. When the theatre performance started it loudly traveled into the restaraunt through the walls. While it didn't bother me I can see how this may bother others. I'm actually glad we went because we learned about the theatre and would like to attend a show sometime. I just wouldn't recommend going to the restaraunt unless you are seeing a show there.

Disclaimer: THIS IS A REVIEW ABOUT THE RESTAURANT PORTION, NOT THE NIGHTCLUB PORTION. I hate to do…read morethis, but I need to get this out while it's fresh in my head. I finished eating here about 90 minutes ago and am quite disappointed. My friend and I were out hoping to get some burgers from Fremont on their $1.00 Burger Mondays, but they were closed due to a holiday party... so we saw this place and were familiar with the one downtown. We like the one downtown, so this one would be cool right? Wrong. I've also never eaten food from a Pourhouse either, only had drinks. I can see why. So we checked their menu and saw they offered a wing special on Mondays and were nearby so why not stop in, despite it having an average score of 2.5 stars on Yelp?! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: This place looks SO NICE! Both the inside and out look so modern, well-decorated, clean, neat and like a place that would be fun to hangout in. They did a great job with that. This place is so huge and serves great as a nightclub on a busy weekend or college night. Restaurant seating is right in the middle of what seems to double as a huge dance floor that is right up against the bar. The ceiling stretches so high and you can see right up to the 2nd floor from all over. This place looks awesome and seems like it has MASSIVE potential for the night scene. Service: This is where things started to take a dive. Ezra was our lovely server, but that was kind of it. She looked nice, showed up, took our orders, smiled and that was really it. She didn't refill my water, didn't ask my friend if he wanted another drink, didn't check on us after our food showed up, NOTHING. Granted, she was the only one running the bar and the bar floor, but still... we needed things. No excuses as we are paying customers. She wasn't there. I had complaints, but I couldn't even tell her... because I don't think she cared. Moving on... Food: I'm a big guy with a huge palate and there isn't much food that I don't finish, but SURPRISE! Lol. I ordered 2 "buckets" of their wings. One good thing is that you can get 2 flavors per bucket. (It's actually not a bucket at all, but a nicely presented plate with celery, sauce and neatly organized wings, 10 of them to be precise. They were so overcooked. They weren't good. At all, but I was starving, so I ate. I tried their Peanut Sauce, Grand Mariner, P.H. Rub and Dry Ranch. They all were such a light flavor that I could hardly taste the difference between them, though the Grand Mariner was my favorite of the 4. I just wish, WISH the wings weren't cooked so freaking long! By the time I got to the last few I couldn't even eat them. They were so tough... like jerky, but hey... guess who wasn't around for me to let them know how I felt? You got it! Lol. Nah, it ain't that serious, I'm just being a jerk, but yeah... the wings weren't good. I don't ever plan on coming back here for the wings... though if they weren't cooked long enough I'm sure they'd be fine. Value: $5.00 for 10 wings. That's a freaking DEAL man! I was all over it! I'm just sad I didn't like what I experienced. Oh well, I shall lose no sleep over it, but I needed to get this out. Oh, let us not forget that this place charges 2.9% extra if you're using a card. Like, for real man? It's 2018! Lol. You don't find out about this until you get your bill and it says it WWAAYY at the bottom of the receipt. Lol. I mean, I guess. So you can either pay the 2.9% extra for using your card, use cash or get bent over by the ATM and its fees at the front door. You choose! In conclusion, I'll come here to party, possibly... not to eat. That's what this place is good for and it's made clear.
