    Jumbo Eggrolls (Chicken)
    Eddy H.

Found this place driving around Maplewood and wanted asian food. Its in a strip mall but looks clean and has great service! The food was pretty good as well. I ordered: Cream Cheese Wontons - 10/10 (One word.....AMAZING!) Shrimp and Chicken Spring Rolls - 9.5/10 (Huge & flavorful) Chicken Jumbo Eggrolls - 9.2/10 (2nd Best eggrolls Ive had) Tom Yum Soup - 8/10 (Good flavor and perfect spice level) Honey Walnut Shrimp - 8/10 (Flavor is amazing with thick batter! Ratio of batter to shrimp is too much though! Chicken Lo Mein - 8.8/10 Pampa Fried Fish - 9/10 (You get a huge side of veggies and noodles, which I didnt eat because I was so full so I only ate the fish itself! It was delicious)

They mostly have booths and a three of tables set up for larger parties for seating but everything felt spaced nicely. I enjoyed my food flavors and they were Thai spice levels so the medium was spicy. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive without being too interrupting of our meal. One sister did have to ask for another set of chopsticks because the set she was given was really uneven but other than that I'd eat here again. Food came out pretty quickly for how busy they got. They have ample parking being at the end of the shopping strip.

This was our first time and we were excited to try this restaurant! The atmosphere had a positive vibe and the decor felt like you had stepped into a forest filled with wildlife and elephants! Super cute! We had ordered the egg rolls for appetizers. It was crispy and quite delicious. The fish sauce dip was just perfect! We had the chicken fried rice and it was very flavorful. I love the wok smell of a good fried rice dish - yum! We tried the papaya salad (Lao style) and it had a strong spicy kick for a medium spice level! The combination flavors of sweet, tangy and spicy was perfect. We tried the chicken pad Thai. The fish sauce flavor was a little too pungent for my liking, but it was alright. It was not the typical pad Thai I am used to, but it was good. The last entree we tried was the beef laab with sticky rice. Wow! Be careful when you ask for a medium spice level - it was extremely spicy! The flavor was absolutely amazing and so delicious! We couldn't handle the spiciness and asked if we could have another one made less spicy. They were very accommodating (and quick) and was able to make us another one. What excellent customer service!! We were very grateful. The service was friendly and our food was brought out very quickly despite the place being quite busy. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant and would be back! Quick Tips: - this isn't your typical Thai restaurant and the flavor may be a bit unique and different. - spicy level is much spicier than you think! Take caution!

Really adorably decorated restaurant--my favorite part was the ceiling. The service was friendly and several different servers came to check on us. The food was fresh, hot and pretty tasty. The spice level was great for spice lovers. I had the steak laab, which was tender, nicely sour, savory and spicy.

First time here. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The food is good, but the boat noodles came out lukewarm.

1715 Beam Avenue USED to home Bambu Asian Cuisine...now it is Elephant Thai Cuisine. The menu and decor has changed, but good Asian dishes remain. Good service from Lala, especially since we didn't know our way around their menu. The Thai Boat Noodles were delicious in their broth (it was worth it just to try it!).

The bathroom requires a code to enter but you can get the code at the register when you pay. If you are only getting cakes and coffee you can order from a separate register on one side of the cafe. You can order cakes by the slice or whole. The tres leches cake is phenomenal -- it's super moist and creamy, while still being pretty light. There is plenty of seating over on this side of the cafe. Their chocolate cake is moist and so rich. Their espresso is fantastic. On the other side of the cafe is food served cafeteria style. You grab a tray and go down the line. You can order a salad sampler and get smaller portions of 2-3 salads for the same price as one salad. The portions are extremely generous. Salad comes with a bread roll, and the focaccia cheese one is great! The caesar pasta salad was on the blander side, but I really enjoyed the crisp fresh veggies in the peanut vegetables salad. There isn't as much seating available on this side of the cafe.

This place is always hopping but lines move fast so don't let that steer you away. My hands down favorite treat myself picks from here are usually available on Fridays: Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake (I am NOT into fruity things but this cake is the exception. The crust has almond flavor, the flavors of white chocolate bits and whipped raspberry all together are perfect) Deep Chocolate Flourless Cake (Rich, dense, smooth, chocolately goodness topped with ganache. Really does the trick when needing a chocolate fix) Their Tres Leche cakes are also a major staple to check out. Life is short, treat yourself just because. I don't know why you say Papaya, I'm going to play Halo. The Hmong Village is a huge Warehouse full of textiles and trinkets and amazing Goods that are generally Vietnamese but also from all parts of the world. And at one end of this massive Warehouse of goodies and delights is this enormous endless row of magical food places which are serving everything from Pho to fake Chinese food to fake Japanese food to Korean food and even some real Chinese and Japanese to go with the Thai and the Filipino and a little bit of everything such as Laotian and Cambodian - but definitely heavy on the Vietnamese stuff as is the expectancy. The sad thing is that people on Yelp haven't really made a dent into these yet as I came here and noticed that probably only three or four of the 30 or 40 food places in this massive Market have even been put on Yelp yet. I've now put them all on Yelp and will be working my way through them each time I visit Saint Paul until I have put up pix of various dishes at each one. But if you live around here and you come here more regularly than I do, what's your excuse? Give all of these places a try! Put them on the map! Figure out which ones are the true hidden gems! Why go to Ye Olde Basic Brewery yet again for yet another pale ale and yet another microbrew craft beer and some more freaking Mozzarella Sticks. You can come here and do what Yelp is really all about which is trying new things and putting little places like this on the map.

Old school all the way. There's a restaurant in the back, and a full-scale deli counter in the front. It is such a good stop. They have their own private parking lot too. Wood paneling, and a bunch of local reviews all over the walls. Clean, normal sound. Simple, with excellent customer service, and a huge menu that will have something that you like. Packed the midweek afternoon we visited, and we did not wait for a table. Loved my bowl of Matzo Soup, superb broth and the Matzo was delicious. Enjoyed my BLT on whole wheat and the homemade potato salad was amazing! Had a cherry cobbler for dessert that was incredible. Restaurant has been open for over 70 years, and I met the owner/manager, Cecil, afterward, and he just oozes customer service being a priority. It's a must-visit place.

If you like sweet and sour chicken, this dish is for you. Chicken mushroom noodle soup was a little bland. But I was sick, and this was filling, warm and heartfelt. They also gave generous amount of black mushroom, which I really like. I would not get this soup if I am not recovering from cold or not sick. Chili oil was also tasty and you can tell it's made in house. But, if you are a vegetarian or don't eat a lot of meat, your options are very limited. Service was fast and you can even scan menu and order directly through the code. Vibes are cool and we went around 4. So it was quiet and chill. We will be coming back!

The noodles were excellent just the right consistency that you get out of hand-pulled noodles. The restaurant was overall very quiet and laid back. With pretty artwork and a nice vibe. The window where you can see them making the noodles was a really nice touch. Parking was a little tricky (make sure to park in back) but if you can snag a spot you don't have to worry about street parking. We'll definitely be back one of these days for more noodles!
