Tom Yum egg noodle soup. A bargain at $17.00.

We have eaten here three times over the years. Each time has been highly impressive. This time I had the soup with at least six different kinds of fish. I savored it slowly for an hour. Despite being full, the broth was so tasty I could not leave until I had finished it all.

I have now been to the Thai Garden a half dozen times and they never fail to impress. I've had several different entrees and they were all tasty and well seasoned. My friend who is vegetarian, has also enjoyed all of his dishes. I was in the mood for Pad Thai and their version was great. Very well balanced. There are only a few parking spots right next to the restaurant, but there are billions of spots behind the restaurant, so park in the large lot The interior of the restaurant is small but attractive. The service is wonderful and the owner is also the chef. I would rate the food at Thai Garden near the top of Thai restaurants I've dined in and I don't feel they are as well known as some lesser quality Thai restaurants. Give it a try!

Gluten free Thai food? I'm in. I've been eyeing this place for a while and finally got a chance to try it out. I decided to take it "to go" so I called in my order of gluten free chicken pad Thai. They were courteous on the phone and said the order would be ready in 5-10 mins! That's FAST! Though the area of town can be sketchy at times, they have a huge parking lot in the back of the restaurant which is a must for businesses right on University where street parking isn't available. The people who work there and I presume are owners went above and beyond with their hospitality when I showed up. Love that. The food was very delicious and fresh even after taking it to go and driving a bit out of the major TC area. I look forward to coming back and trying other gluten free delights!

This has been my favorite Thai place in the Twin Cities for years since moving here in 2012. I have never had a meal at this restaurant that was not satisfying and flavorful. Very consistent. I now live in Northeast but still make the trip here even if other places may be closer. The best part of the experience is the management. It's a family run restaurant and you can truly tell that they care about the quality, flavor and service. This is a great place to check out if you support local businesses. Also, they have very reasonable prices and are very punctual with the times they give for take out. They make it easy. Plus, there is free parking in the back, no worries about busy University Ave :) I've been coming here for almost a decade, I really can't recommend it enough. Dish in Picture: Pad Prik Khing w/ Chicken made spicy (however, you can select preferred spice level).

With two locations that are both consistently amazing, I've never had a single subpar experience. The restaurants are clean, simple and have great service. One thing I really appreciate is how clearly they label gluten-free and vegetarian options. The menu is packed with choices for different dietary restrictions. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted and full of bold, authentic flavor. My go-to favorites are the pad thai, green curry, drunken noodles, Thai fried rice, yellow curry, and the spring rolls, they truly never miss. If you're new to Thai food, you can't go wrong starting with the pad thai and fried rice. If you like a little spice and depth of flavor, definitely add a curry to the mix. The portions are generous (perfect for sharing), and everything is consistently fresh and delicious. I can't recommend Coconut Thai enough!

We went before a show at the Amsterdam bar. It wasn't busy when we arrived, but the restaurant did fill in so it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a reservation if there's an event going on at the grand casino arena (formerly xcel energy center) because I could definitely see it getting busy! Their menu is clearly labeled with what's vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, and gluten-free. The staff were also knowledgeable and able to answer questions about the menu items! The decor is very cute, and there are definitely good photo ops in the restaurant when it's not too busy! As for the food: The mango sticky rice is good and a shareable portion! I have no complaints there! I ordered pad see ew as well with medium spice, which is my go-to spice level when trying a new restaurant. I really didn't notice any spice, so I would order it spicier in the future! Tofu was my protein of choice, and their tofu was very crispy which I enjoyed! There were fewer vegetables than in the pad see ew at other places (no carrots or Chinese broccoli, just regular broccoli), and it is a smaller serving size compared to some of my favorite dishes places! With that being said, I did enjoy it overall and would come back next time I'm in the area! I would try ordering with a higher level of spice and maybe try a different entree next time!

I've ordered from On's dozens of times and they honestly deserved this review a lot sooner…read more Everything I've ever eaten from On's is authentic, delicious and bursting with flavor. I've tried numerous menu items, including their Laab, Pad-ga-pow, mango salad, pineapple curry, pad Thai and Prik Prik Moo Grop. There's another dish I've tried there that seems it's no longer on their menu but it was a curry seafood dish served in an actual coconut. It was amazing! My favorites so far are the mango salad and pad Thai. The #70 Moo Grop dish is a close one for top picks but my only complaint is the pork chunks weren't my preferred texture. The sauce, however, is a show stealer. I could literally drink it! It's that good. I've personally never had a negative eating experience with Ons but my husband did complain to me about their pineapple curry. He orders his food at the spiciest level, and I only ever tried a bite of his, but he thought it was very sour and tasted pickely. It was not the best curry I've had but I didn't think it was bad. I'm a seasoned Thai food eater - it's basically all I eat. So I've tried all of the Thai spots in the twin cities. On's is sitting in my top two. I've never eaten inside the restaurant so I can't say much for the service, but I have been in the restaurant to pick up orders and there isn't much to say for its ambiance. It's a very casual setting. My only complaint about Ons is that they serve their curry in shallow containers which makes for smaller portions. If they served their curry in soup containers and gave larger portions, they'd be my go-to spot every time. Right now, my other favorite Thai spot has them beat on curry portions. But that doesn't stop me from coming back for other menu items.

The sauce that came with it is also a perfect pairing to the dish. The 4 pieces really fill you up so definitely good for its price. Portions are definitely good at this restaurant and you can easily find street parking in the neighborhood behind. Mohinga was okay. It was behind the first two times I came here. The fish cake in Mohinga was tasty as well as the fried peas. The boat noodle has very rich flavor. Broth was good and they gave generous amount of bean sprouts. La Phat Ye was good. They normally don't offer iced but we asked them to change. Overall, it's a great restaurant with decent prices and we hope that we can get back into business ASAP.

In terms of food, there is a mixture of Burmese, Thai, and Karen dishes, and each one that my friends and I have ordered has been a hit. The tea leaf salad has amazing texture because of peanuts and fried garlic, which provide crunchiness, and has amazing flavor because of lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes. The noodle salad has a light taste without adding the given lime piece, and then the rich nutty taste gets evoked and elevated upon adding lime juice. The zaap crispy has very well-seasoned fried chicken pieces, and medium spice level gives it a good amount of flavor. The shan khao soi is so creamy and tasty that even tasting the curry broth itself is a sensational experience, and the chicken leg included literally has "fall off the bone" meat. The boat noodle has a mixture of sweetness and savor, while the sweet flavor does not overpower anything at all. Finally, the mohinga clearly has fish cake flavor and texture fully infused, making it authentically delicious. We also ordered the knyaw iced salad, which was a mixture of ice along with crackers and other types of sweet ingredients. I thought it was very similar to a type of Vietnamese dessert called chè ba màu (three color pudding), and fully enjoyed it. The establishment only had one dessert, and I thought that was sufficient. While the street contains many excellent restaurants, I personally believe that this establishment stands out in terms of taste. I must also mention that since my friends and I arrived when barely anyone else was there each time we had gone there, we never experienced any service delays that some have mentioned in their reviews. I probably will give this place a 5 rating anyway even if I experience slowness, although I hope I don't.
